My Speculations About EXO’s Comeback

First of all, I’ve read a bunch of articles on what has been figured out already, and I just want to say, SM has some serious dedication, but EXO-L’s are motherfucking Sherlock. Alrighty, now to get into the ideas.

So first of all, in Kai’s teaser, they were sitting around a table that looked strangely like a gambling table, which immediately pointed me towards lotto. I re-watched the music video, and what I found was that there were three lotto pieces in the ending logo, which may point to the same as three logos of flowers; three title tracks. Also, another thing to support three title tracks is the fact that the music in Kai’s teaser and the first teaser that was released was vastly different. And that there were different-ish concepts in Kai’s teaser, but we can give that to dance sequences and that shit. Also, in Lotto, Joonmyeon pours a bunch of what seems to be gasoline all over a pile of money, and in the end of Kai’s teaser, they’re walking through a gas station. Also, Kyungsoo is seen with a car in the first teaser. But, I don’t really know what to make of this.

Next, I re-watched Monster and noticed that there was a burning car. Again, with the theme of cars and gasoline. I also noticed the watch floating upwards had the time moving at a highly rapid pace BACKWARDS, and the general setting of the first teaser seemed to be in the 90s. Except for the car that Kyungsoo slammed the door of, which was much older than that. This points me to think that maybe it’s going to involve time travel and/or is going to take place in the past. Also, I read the writing on Joonmyeon’s shirt, which was “comme des garcons”, which translated from French as “like boys” which is a brand of clothing. It may hold meaning, but I just can’t find it. Kai’s shirt says “someplace else”, which may point to how drugs are often used as a coping method with issues. They take you to someplace else. And it just so happens that, in the gambling table scenes, there’s smoke. Just saying.

I re-watched Call Me Baby, and Lay’s jacket said Phenomenon 88, and 88 is Kai’s number, which points to Kai’s teaser being the first one released. That’s basically it.

I re-watched Overdose, and then it hit me. What if EXO’s powers have an involvement in this? And, as a matter of fact, after Phenomenon 88, which Lay wore, in Lucky One, lay explodes a lady’s head with a flower. Flowers are related to the earth, and guess whose powers are earth? Kyungsoo. Maybe his teaser is next. Or, knowing SM, probably Baekhyun or Sehun’s is next, due to their extremely high popularity. So it’s probably signaling that Kyung’s teaser is last. Sadness.

I then stopped re-watching videos because I realized much smarter people have already done it and have gotten anything. I didn’t watch any interviews or fancams because I simply don’t have the time, and I’m sure others have done it already.

I moved on to the teasers. First of all, why the fuck is Minseok standing with food around him? SM doesn’t do things purely for the aesthetic, so this has to be some clue. He’s also dressed vaguely like a waiter. And there’s a bunch of scenes of walking and laying around pointlessly. Maybe the song itself is something like “you need to work to live” and “there’s no such thing as a free lunch” and “life is difficult”.

And about the license plate. I know it’s about the date that EXO-L’s were named, but maybe that date is also the date of the comeback itself? August 5th? But it was confirmed earlier that the comeback would be in July. I don’t know, okay. I also looked up the license plate itself, and ended up with some pictures of a somewhat tropical stream in Mexico. I watched some more, and while Yixing was heading down the stairs, there were signs pointing to Honolulu and Aloha Tower, which points to the video being set in Hawaii, which goes with and explains the whole tropical theme. Plus, it’s summer.(duh captain obvious)

I’m sure this is a coincidence, but the colors of “Ko Ko Bop” are the colors of the whole African anti-colonialism revolutions and stuff. Yellow, red, and green are on many, many african flags. I wonder... No.

Also, at the bottom at the beginning, it said Diamond. It may be a filming company or the producer or something, I don’t know. But, a) Diamonds have massive value, have the highest category of luster, and a colorless streak, as well as a 10 mohs hardness, making it the hardest mineral. B) maybe it’s symbolizing the polish and hardness (like toughness) that EXO has gained over the years, and this is the epitome of it?

BUT; This was only in Kai’s teaser. Not the general one. So, taking the theory that there are three title tracks, let’s say the melody from the first teaser is for Ko Ko Bap or The War itself, and the melody with Kai’s teaser was from another one of the tracks called Diamond?????

AND THEN ANOTHER EPIPHANY HIT ME. in Kai’s teaser, he was holding a book about space movement his power symbol on it, so the comeback should involve EXO’s powers, and possibly more about Exoplanet.(?)

The book had eclipses on the cover, furthering my theory of more of an explanation about Exoplanet.

Space movement is an art movement, so *here comes an artist’s excitement* this video is related (or maybe even centered around) art?!!!

And about the logos. One of the logos involves a flower that grows in Hawaii, so this whole thing is definitely set in Hawaii.

 And, in the Kai teaser, at the gas station, there is a drawing of a yellow hibiscus on the wall, which is the Hawaiian state flower, definitely confirming that this is in Hawaii. I looked into the meaning of the yellow hibiscus and more information about it, and I put it into Naver translator. What I got back was not yellow hibiscus, but “of Brazilian origin.” I think it’s related to the video since SM has already done strange things with Naver for this. In the process, I found that another variation of the hibiscus flower is the national flower of South Korea. Hibiscuses are used as offerings to the Hindu god that removes obstacles and has the power of knowledge. I don’t know what to make of this.

It says that yellow hibiscus symbolizes happiness, sunshine, and good luck. Sounds a lot like another comeback... Just saying.*lucky one?* Also, a hibiscus symbolizes the shortness of beautiful moments and the need to appreciate them while they last. Maybe it’s the theme of one of the title tracks? *it looks a lot like it’s for ‘diamond’ cause it’s in Kai’s teaser*

But, I also have a few ideas. This is pretty improbable, but what if, actually, the three logos represent the gone members and they’re each collabing on the three title tracks?

Alright, this is it for my thoughts, please let me know what you think in the comments. I’m sorry to put you through this shitstorm odyssey through my strange mind.

EDIT: First, of all, I read through this again, and realized some more things; Diamonds are of Brazilian origin!!!!! There is definitely a title track called diamond!!!!! Also, I watched some theory videos and realized that the eclipse is def related to exo, as they like their eclipses and full moons. COUGHchogiwaandluckyoneandwhatisloveCOUGH so the comeback, and at least Diamond, has to include their powers. But, to be honest, literally *every* video is related to their powers in one way or another, so... Yeah.

EDIT#2: I was right, Baekhyun’s teaser was next. My prediction is that either Chanyeol or Sehun’s is next.

EDIT#3: I was right once again as Chanyeol’s was next. I predict next to be either Xiumin or Sehun. But then again, as I say that, Jongdae is pretty likely too, but less likely than Xiu or Se.

Summary:

So this month was kind of uneventful music wise. As I said I ignore songs that are Christmas themed as I know they aren't really something I'd listen to on a daily basis. But EXO dropped an album for winter and the B-Sides, in particular, were fucking stunning. They dropped probably one of my most favorite albums right at the end of the year. I guarantee if they had released it sooner it would've been at the very top of my list. I am mostly satisfied with this list. But I really hate some of the songs on here that I thought were good at the start. I really cannot stand the Seventeen songs on here anymore same with WJSN's one song. I am so mad they are high up on my list in comparison to songs that I prefer to them. So expect another list thread later on when I get everything in order.
