i wanted to draw the two unpopular lowermoons teehee, so have hairo (from the tales of water and flame) and ubume (from the light novel signs from the wind)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
since ubume has no official art and a limited design description, and thanks to my little brother's help, i decided to base her off the mimic octopus, both to lean into her illusions AND her motherly side (since mother octopi starve to death protecting their eggs)

bububuh Happy Holidays!!
So, like half a month ago i joined a kny themed secret santa on twitter/discord. It was pretty fun and all, and today i finally exchanged my gift!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'll be completely honest, the guns for Hairo were a nightmare to draw, but i somehow managed to make them look decent! And that was done 95% without looking at references.
Oh yeah, these amazing drawings if y'all haven't already guessed, they were indeed for the one & only @ordinaryartistt

here he is! thank you for confirming from your previous ask, I just wanted to make sure I was thinking of the right character!
I think his powers are really cool and it's unfortunate that we'll never see him animated... (but I could be biased cuz I love wolves lol)
I really wish that we had more Gaiden stories, I remember being surprised that we never got any more after the second one a;lsdkfj

The context is huge, but I think about how in the Light Novel Rengoku talks about the students as if they were his children, and I think he would be an older brother who would take them away from trouble (No underground fights) (you know who)

Kizuki Family AU (Human)
Okay, this isn't my main AU, but it's one of the AUs that I have. Basically, Muzan is the father to the Uppermoons, Enmu, Hairo and Rui. The twist is that all of them has a form of disability, this is pretty much an excuse for me to make some representation.

The Search for Yae: Chapter 2
During the scene where Hairo and Yae are fighting for her gun, I intended it to seem like two siblings fighting over a console :3
The night soon became morning, and Yae’s running came to a halt.
Yae’s breathing became rapid as she tried to regulate it. Her body falls down on the ground as she starts to calm down. The only thing keeping her from collapsing was herself.
Soon enough, her panting turns to normal breaths of air, as she picks herself up from the ground, dusting off the snow on her.
As the morning turns into the afternoon, the clouds start to darken and shift, hiding the sun from earth. Soon, the sky started to snow, with large clouds of smoke coming out of Yae’s mouth.
Yae felt warm as the snow started to fall, her vision became delirious as her walking started to slow down.
Yae touched her forehead to feel it scalding hot, with sweat dripping from her cheeks. Yae opens up her flask, drinking the water contained to cool her down.
Despite the drink helping her, it didn’t stop the fever from growing. She took multiple breaks, drinking water and swallowing medicine, but still, her body was blazing hot and her vision was blurry.
Her body soon gave up, Yae collapsed onto the snow, and her vision started to darken as she passed out.
-
Hairo had already planned to leave the mountains since yesterday after he was sure Rengoku wouldn’t be here.
Leaving the mountains were an easy feat, just like how getting up to it was. As he ran through the forest faster than any human could surpass, he noticed something that stopped him in his tracks.
It was… the girl, again, but this time, she was collapsed on the ground.
At this point, Hairo didn’t even bother asking why he was walking towards her, he was done with himself at this point.
Hairo approaches the girl, noticing that she was asleep. He didn’t doubt she would do this, with her lack of survival skills.
What was she doing here anyway? She was far from the village, was she trying to run away?
He poked her body, feeling her skin being blazing hot to the touch; a fever, no doubt about it.
(I should probably kill this girl by now)
But just like before— there was something aching in him that didn’t want to hurt this girl. He gritted his teeth in frustration.
He’ll admit— he does… understand her, there was something about her stubbornness he can respect, even if it’ll lead her to her deathbed.
But still, did he pity her that hard for him to spare her? It didn’t make any sense to him for why he did that.
He poked her body again, testing if she would wake up.
.
.
.
No response.
“...great”
There was a part of him that wanted to leave her alone, to let her die. But there was another part that told him to stay.
Hairo pulls on his hair as he grits his teeth. He went on a trip to the countryside to find Rengoku and get his revenge, but now? He was fighting himself on whether or not he should leave a teenage girl to die in the middle of the woods.
He knew he couldn’t think about this for long, the sun could rise up any moment and set him ablaze.
He let out a frustrated sigh, before picking the girl’s leg and dragging her, creating a path wherever he pulled her to.
It was frustratingly difficult for him to drag the girl to his temporary hideout— an abandoned house, far from the village.
The decision to keep her safe was something on the fly, but he couldn’t waste his time asking himself a stupid question.
He placed her on the dirty tatami mat, the hut didn’t have a bed, so it would suffice. It’s not as if she’s conscious to know what she’s sleeping on.
He hadn’t exactly thought about it until now, what was he going to do next? Nurse her— no, that’s stupid.
His hands turn into fists, what was he doing? Helping isn’t in the vocabulary of a demon— yet, he’s actively helping her.
(A wet towel presses onto Hairo’s forehead, cooling down his burning body, soft hands placing the towel on is head.
“get better soon, brother,” a gentle voice said.)
Hairo suddenly froze, his hands loosened and his eyes widened as he tried to process the sudden memory.
(...what was that all about?)
-
”a man-eating bear?” A young woman repeated what Mrs. Shakou said.
“is that why everyone is so tense here?” ”yes, you shouldn’t stay here”
In response, the young woman tilted her head backward, giving Mrs. Shakou a warm smile.
“the liver of a man-eating bear is intriguing for someone like me”
”so if you find some, let me know!”
Mrs. Shakou responded with a stunned look, earning a small giggle from the woman.
“well- just so you know, that bear isn’t the only concern around here”
“hm? Is that so?”
“yes- last night, one of our matagi hunter’s daughter, Yae, disappeared. But before then, she had told me of her encounter with a strange man. He restrained her and held her at gunpoint, but she managed to get away from him”
A curious look appeared, replacing the smile that the young woman wore.
“and what did this man look like?” ”well— Yae said he was wearing a military uniform and a cape, and his eyes had ‘lower two’ engraved on them”
A surprised look came out of the young woman as if she recognized what Mrs. Shakou said.
“ah- I see, thank you for your assistance, Mrs. Shakou,” The young woman said, as she got up, with her branded medicine.
"wait!— stop!"
"what is it?" the young woman turned around.
"Please— if you could, can you try and find Yae?"
As she clasped her hands together, a small smile grew on the woman's face, right after Mrs. Shakou gave a description of her.
"of course! I'll gladly search for her!"
-
“Hey! What are you doing going around with a sword!” A man shouted, just from outside of the pharmacy.
The young woman peeked through the door to see the commotion.
A young man, with a half-and-half haori over a uniform, and a sword around his hips. Matagi hunters surrounded him, and despite the sudden interrogation, he kept a cold face.
He pulled his sword from his waist and bowed down to the matagi hunters. Placing his sword right underneath his hand.
“I am Giyuu Tomioka of the Demon Slayer Corps”
The action confused the matagi hunters until one of them spoke again.
“wait- I just remembered! Remember the murder of that family?! The charcoal sellers that lived on mountain Kumotori?! A creepy guy wearing a two-toned haori was nearby!”
“Quick someone get some rope!”
Giyuu could only grimace as the matagi hunters tied him up.
“Tomioka-san!” The young woman poked Giyuu’s shoulder, grabbing his and the hunters’ attention.
“What a coincidence that you’re here, and as usual you’re bad at communicating”
“Kocho?”
“Do I need to explain to them?” Shinobu asked.
“no- I can handle it myself”
-
The inside of the house was a mess, blood splattered all over the walls, as dead matagi members lay on the beds of the room.
“What h-happened?” Yae asked, as she observed the bloody scene in front of her “Yoshimura! Kanji!” she called out
“Father?” Yae called out, as a bear came out of the shadows.
-
It was almost the evening when Yae woke up, sweat dripping from her face, as she looked at her surroundings.
Her body was still burning, and her vision was still dizzy, but still, she recognized she was in a different place.
She was laid on a dirty tatami mat, clearly not been taken care of for a long time, in some broken down house. The doors were busted and the smell of the house was horrible, a mix of gunpowder and cigarettes surrounded her.
(where am I?)
She was sure she wasn’t here before, who brought her here? She looked around, her bag was opened, with all of her stuff scattered around, as if someone was searching for something.
The most worrying thing for her was that her rifle was missing, despite searching all over the room, it was nowhere to be found.
In a panic, Yae slides open a door, leading to a hallway, the smell of gunpowder becoming stronger, making Yae cough and wheeze.
Yae carefully walked through the hallways, avoiding the chunks of broken wood flooring alongside the doors that were broken and rested on the floor.
Peeking through the busted shoji doors, there was nothing in particular that would catch her eyes, until she peeked through a certain room.
Inside the room, was the usual fair, bruised tatami, broken shoji doors. But what caught her eye was the demon, sitting down with her rifle…
Yae slammed the door open, turning the demon’s attention away from her rifle and to her.
“oh you’re-”
“HANDS OFF MY GUN!”
Yae stomped towards the demon, her eyes contracting from her anger.
The demon quickly stood up, as he held the rifle over his head.
Considering their obvious height difference, with Yae’s head starting at his shoulders, and the fact he was wearing boots that boosted his height. It was clear that she wasn’t able to reach for her rifle.
“gimme my gun back!” ”oh please, as if you know how to use it correctly!”
“I can use it correctly! Now give it back!"
Yae grits her teeth as she goes on her tip-toes to reach for her gun, but it is all futile, she can’t reach for her rifle.
“Why should I?!”
Yae’s face was full-blown red from her anger, her head light-headed, she grits her teeth before her foot met the demon’s crotch.
Despite the attempt to hurt him, the only thing that came out was the look of confusion from the demon, but she managed to make him stumble back, causing him to lower her rifle.
Yae grips onto her rifle for dear life, as the demon tugs it back towards him. Even if she felt something build up in her stomach, even if her brain felt disoriented, she wasn’t going to back down.
“what the hell’s wrong with you?! What do you want from me?!” ”I should ask the same thing to you! What were you even doing in the middle of the forest?!”
“Why should I tell you!”
Yae tries to kick him in the knees next, her legs hitting his legs with her snow boots.
The demon managed to rip the rifle away from Yae, holding it up again.
“I’ll give you the rifle if you tell me”
Yae scoffs, glaring at him with anger, backing away slightly.
“I’m searching for my dad, there! Is that good enough for you?!”
His face turns from anger to mildly surprised.
“oh— what a coincidence,” he said as he threw the rifle to Yae, who clumsily catches it.
“I’m also searching for someone”
Yae paused a bit as he revealed the truth, though she didn’t care for whatever the demon was up to, it did surprise her that they were both going on the same mission.
“oh yeah? And who is this ‘someone’ you’re searching for?”
“This guy,” the demon said as he pulled out a piece of paper, clearly ripped from a letter of sorts. Her eyes glossed over the writing, the ink and paper clearly was old, but it was still legible.
From: -
To: -juro Rengoku
“and why should I care?”
“you were the one asking!”
A small noise came out of Yae’s throat, before a gush of vomit came out, staining the already broken tatami. The demon stepped back as she vomited her previous meals.
Yae’s head felt lighter than a feather at this point, she clutched her head to try and stay stable, falling onto the chest of the demon as she passed out again.
-
"The lower moon..." Shinobu recounted as the feral demon was beheaded, her eyes fixed on the disappearing body of the monster.
"That can't be him..."
Shinobu furrowed her brows, putting her sword in its holster.
"I'm sure we'll find him" Her colleague stated.
"we just have to search further..."
