Been meaning to post this art of my fankid Knux for a bit but I had to get some of his backstory out first.

Behold Possessed!Knux.

When Knux attempts to steal the Master Emerald for himself, it connects with the evil intentions in his heart and amplifies them, causing him to be possessed by the M.E.. It's a form pretty similar to Dark Sonic, but actually evil. He essentially loses himself within himself and has to have help being pulled back out. This experience causes him to rethink some things and decide not to mess with powers that aren't his. It's not a full 180°, but it's the first step on his journey to redemption.

Wanted to post a little infodump about my Knuxouge fankid, Knux!

Knux (full name Knuckles Jr.) is the firstborn of Knuckles and Rouge's five kids. Unlike most kids of interspecies relationships, which tend to fully take on the species of one or the other of their parents, Knux is a "mixed" kid, with both Bat and Echidna features. He's also the only of his siblings to be mixed.

Knux gets his aggressive temperament from both Rouge and Knuckles, being extremely stubborn, angry, and quick to solve his problems with his fists. He's also a thief like Rouge.

As the firstborn, Knux was assumed to be the next guardian of the Master Emerald, and Knuckles attempted to train him to fulfill that duty. Knux wasn't particularly interested, although he tried. But when Knuckles tried to properly "introduce" him to the M.E., it sensed the darkness in his heart and passed him over as guardian in favor of his younger brother, Spear.

To be completely honest, Knux never really wanted the responsibilities that came with being guardian of the M.E.. He's not at all patient and wants the freedom to explore and do his own thing. But being passed over made him bitter, and caused a rift between him and Knuckles.

When Knux got older, he ended up attempting to steal the Master Emerald for his own. However, because of his use of force and the anger in his heart, the M.E. essentially "posseses" him, giving him a form similar to Dark Sonic or Enerjak. He has a huge fight with Knuckles, Spear, and the rest of the family. He's finally able to break out of that form, but the experience made him realize some of his own issues and he ends up leaving for a while to kind of figure himself out.

I do also have a redemption arc planned for him, but for a while he travels around living as a thief and randomly showing up at Uncle Shadow's place at 3 am to make a plate of sandwiches and crash on the couch.
