I wish Roswell New Mexico was adapted by someone else so black!maria wasn’t treated so horribly. also although my thoughts on roswell nm as a show overall are all over the place. I loved the way brought the show closer to the book by having having Rosa being a character and I love the idea of her character I love a resurrection trope and I do like that liz and by default rosa are their book accurate race again

#this has been in my drafts since jul 22 #knowing what i know now abt tvdu producers 😑🫤😐#also rip maria x michael as a ship #i just couldn’t bring myself to give my time to someone who work on the tvdu who was the main showrunner for so long because most of them-#have racist tendencies allegedly and I don’t want to support them when they put a token black person in a role looking directly at maria-#because if you’ve watched the original one you’d know they’d just role swap maria and alex and i have to ask why make maria a character-#instead of just combining them or genderbend because the swap was with well intent as a person who is still active in the tvd fandom there-#are similarities in how bonnie and maria are treated by the writers and the fandom #black ppl don’t always have to be in a show especially if you don’t like them or don’t know how to write them-#alex got maria's micheal plot and maria got alex's being left in the dark plot there is more but i have watched it in a really long time #or how to see yourself in them looking at you julie #liz Parker used to annoy me when i was younger but as i grew up i learned to enjoy her character and as much as i like both her-#and Liz Parker should've been Liz Ortecho from the jump #but they just wanted ppl to hate on the one (1) black character #sometimes i'd rather not have a black character at all than have them be mistreated or purposely made to be shitted on by the fandom #not tagging the fandom
