MAKE SOME NOISE FOR THE DESI BOYS! ā featuring gojo, nanami, sukuna, toji, choso, geto content warnings: writing this as a way to cope with my horrible first draft of a oneshot. south asian & desi settings/culture/reference(s), certain non-english phrases or words have been written in italics. established relationship, more of character headcannons than x reader moments. lots of fluff and crack and very self indulgent.
part two!!
whatās this? itās spicy? ā every time. gojoās arrogance would be no match for a plate of golgappa with the most fiery paani. heād insist he could handle it, only to down half a bottle of milk and dramatically flail about. would wear a kurta to your cousinās wedding but would make it somehow... scandalous? the kurta would be slightly unbuttoned, the sleeves rolled up, showing his forearms, earning him several auntiesā stares (and jibes). absolutely insists on dancing during wedding processions. heād make it his moment, hyping everyone up, and yes he'll even sit on your uncleās shoulders, long limbs flailing around. if he accompanies you to a relative's house, he'd out-chat the most talkative aunty. someone needs to remind him heās not the center of attention during mid-afternoon snack time. insists he doesnāt need or drink tea but still sips yours every single time, claiming it ājust tastes betterā when itās from your hands. decides to help your mom in the kitchen one day, only to create a disaster. your mom bans him after he burns roti and mixes sugar instead of salt into daal. everytime he goes with the aunties to shop at the local markets, he always gets a few knick-knacks for you, even without asking. expect you to wear them on your dates together, duh.
nanami would be in awe of your mom's cooking. he'd sit quietly, savoring every bite, occasionally muttering, āthis is exquisite.ā heād be polite to the point where he wouldnāt admit his stomach was done at a family dinner. your uncles would keep piling food on his plate, and heād silently soldier through, sweating a little but never complaining. heād be fascinated by your family's love for cricket and would learn the rules just to engage in conversation. next thing you know, heās analyzing the team's batting order at 3 a.m. youād catch him sneaking sweets from the fridge at odd hours, eyes lighting up like a kid when he discovers them stashed away. learns exactly how you like your tea and makes it for you without asking every morning. he even knows to add extra ginger when youāre sick. helps you set up lamps during diwali and insists on doing the rangoli with you, though heās oddly meticulous and wants symmetry everywhere. tries helping you drape your saree during a family event and somehow manages to get it perfect after watching one youtube tutorial. after work, he picks up paani puri from the stall near your house because he knows itās your favorite, even though itās been a long day for him.
geto would become every single kidās favorite at family gatherings. heād let them braid his hair, play charades, and act as the mediator when they start fighting over who goes first. heās the kind whoād sit with your grandma for hours, listening to her stories about her youth and nodding thoughtfully as if committing everything to memory. would absolutely insist on wearing a sherwani to a wedding because he respects the tradition, and he looks like he just walked off a vogue india cover. notices every detail ā your earrings, your bangles, even that small bindi you put on. always manages to say something that makes you feel seen and cherished. loves watching old shahrukh khan movies with you and mimics the dramatic hand gestures, leaving you in fits of laughter. makes a mess of eating sev puri, getting imli chutney all over his fingers, but enjoys it so much that he insists on taking you for chaat every week.
sukuna refuses to admit he likes your momās parathas but will eat five in one sitting. heād grumble about āwhy does this butter smell so good?ā while scooping another bite. at first, heād scoff at cultural events, calling them āpointless human traditions,ā but eventually, youād catch him laughing at your cousinās bad singing or mouthing the words to a song. bhindi fry or aloo gobi would become his favorite dish. heād demand you learn your momās recipe exactly as is. and god forbid, you forget the pickle. hates most people but inexplicably bonds with your uncle, the one whoās slightly tipsy at every function and making inappropriate jokes. makes you explain the 10 different kinds of pickles your mom keeps in the pantry. ends up liking lemon pickle the best but hates admitting it. accidentally steps on the edge of your saree while passing by and tries to play it cool when you glare at him, muttering, āhow was i supposed to know itās this long?ā initially says, āi donāt get whatās so special about biriyani,ā but after tasting your momās, demands she teach you exactly how to make it āor else.ā always insists on driving you home from family events, saying, āyour uncles are insane drivers, and i donāt trust their shortcuts.ā
chosoās sweet, quiet nature would win over your aunties almost instantly. they'd call him little one and pinch his cheeks every chance they got. heād be a sucker for gulab jamun. youād leave him alone with a bowl, and suddenly half of it would disappear. heād give you that guilty but adorable "did i do something wrong?" look. would love watching bollywood movies with you, but heād always side with the villains because ātheyāre misunderstood.ā his favorite movie is don 2. lowkey obsessed with mehndi. heād insist you draw some on his hand for fun, sitting patiently while you doodle a peacock and floral designs. takes notes as your mom explains how to make dal tadka. later surprises you by making it, though itās slightly too salty. gets genuinely emotional watching kabhi khushi kabhie gham, especially during the family reunion scene. refuses to admit he cried. helps you untangle strings of lights before diwali and insists on hanging them up himself so you donāt climb any ladders. sneaks sweets from the fridge at night, only to leave a sticky trail of crumbs everywhere. when confronted, he sheepishly blames the cat.
toji would absolutely love the chaos of a desi wedding. the dancing, the food, the random uncle fighting with the DJ ā heād thrive in it. shamelessly asks your mom to pack leftovers. he has zero shame about taking home an entire packet of biryani. the man can handle spice, but even heād flinch at a particularly deadly pepper. heād recover quickly, though, saying, āitās good. just clears out the sinuses, ya know?ā absolute menace during garba. no rhythm, no technique ā just a wild flailing of arms and a massive grin. he's suprisingly good at bhangra and now everyone wants to dance with him. fixes random things around the house for your parents, like the fan or the jammed door, all while your aunties try (and fail) not to ogle him.

Being a king was a lovely business.
But it was also a lonely business.
How can that be? If you are surrounded by all people chanting your name from the top of their lungs like a war cry?
But what if you never wanted a war?
Any of that separation, agony and a cycle encompassing all of that just going on?
"Dharma" Ram told himself, closing his eyes
When Kaikeyi exiled him, he had looked at the dawn raising his hand to the sun, as if to reach out to the new life awaiting him now.
When Dashratha wept rivers, Ram had never seen his father this vulnerable. He wanted to console him, to cry with him, but he was bound to go away for his sake.
When Kaushalya, despite being the mother and the pain she'd face by her son's separation, she had blessed Ram to go, to do what he was meant to do.
When Shurpanakha's nose was cut off by his brother, Ram had closed his eyes tighter and sighed, knowing a war was inevitable now.
Before that, however, during the exile he was quite happy. Braiding his wife's hair by the river, pausing to look at her with loving eyes as he smiled.
"What is it?" Sita asked him, smiling back "Don't worry, swami. We will be back at our home before you know it. This exile is just by default."
"My love, for me any place with you is a honeymoon. Who cares about any exile?" He paused again to tug a stray hair behind Sita's ear "Just let me cherish this moment. Who knows when it will come to pass again?"
Sita cupped Ram's face which made him tear up a little bit "Nothing can separate us. Even if the world does, you shall be the only king and God to rule my heart forever."
"A king's duty is to serve. So, let me serve you, not rule." He whispered and kissed her hands
"As a king?" Sita raised her eyebrows in amusement, grabbing an opportunity to tease her ever solemn husband.
Ram shook his head, laughing "As your righteous and rightful darling lil husband, of course" and tickled her as the sounds of their laughter blended in with the gurgling of water and singing of the birds.
"What must it feel like to be the king, dada?" Bharat had asked him with dreamy eyes once when they were kids. Only if they knew.
"Everything ever." Ram would answer in the future
"Everything one would think they'd want.
In the end only to be a martyr,
Deemed by all as a God."
"Dada, please don't leave us alone!" Bharat cried and cried, finally taking his big brother's sandals to be placed on the throne.
The heart that breaks to keep everyone else's from breaking. Did the people love the king because of who he really was or just because of the sacrifices he made for them?
But there was one who loved him for who he really was.
Hanuman
He was moved by his devotion so that the warrior monkey soon became his family
He looked up now at the fireworks that burst in the sky
Fire
He had a strange relation with it
Fire, that ran in Lakshan's veins like rage. The fire of poison that almost took him away. Ram's world would've been long gone into darkness if he had lost his brother. But Hanuman rescued him, because of which Ram would forever be indebted to him.
Fire, that danced on Hanuman's tail. With which he set ablaze the whole kingdom of gold to ashes. The arrogance of a vast emperor defeated by the piety of "Jai Shri Ram"
Fire, that devoured Raavan's body with the flaming arrow launched by Ram. A festival that would be celebrated for eons to come.
And finally, fire that Sita had to enter for the agnipariksha. Ram knew nothing could touch her wife but for a brief second, he recalled Sati's trial and the grief Mahadev went through. He gripped his heart as a tear lingered by his eye, burning as intensely as the agni Sita was so calmly going into. But she emerged unscathed and Ram finally breathed relief.
What does it feel like to finally come home?
Ram looked around
Diyas lit up houses as far as the eyes could see
An inviting, slow flame of love, not violent fire
Rangoli adorning every doorstep in welcome
He could finally see his family, his brothers as they used to be when they were young, his parents desperate to see their son back, his people longing to touch his feet, Hanuman hugging him fiercely in between sobs and lastly, his wife's eyes numb with the happiness of reunion.
"Swami" she breathed as tears rolled down her cheeks
If he had cried earlier, they would've seen him as a weak king. Hanuman would've set the world ablaze if he saw his Ram upset. So would Lakshman. And Sita would even set herself on fire, all over again, a million times in a million births if that would ensure his happiness
But now Ram let go, all the tears he was holding back since what felt like forever
So? How does it feel?
"Prem" Ram told himself, closing his teary eyes and smiling, swaying his head silently to the tune which was on everyone's lips
Ram aayenge toh angnaa sajaungi
Deep jalaake diwali main manaungi
Meri jhopdi ke bhaag
Aaj khul jaayenge
Ram aayenge

skz x desi reader headcanons
A.N: highly unedited, it's just me yapping - also! if you have anything you want to add on, pls share! let's all be delulu together hehe
tagging: @ihrtlino (i'm sorry it took so long for me to write this :') <3)
Chan
Your parents would absolutely LOVE him, and would probably invite him to come over for Diwali - bonus: Chan in a kurta - actually, scratch that - any of the members in a kurta.
Would insist he can handle the spice of your momās curries but the extremely red tint on his ears and face says otherwise. He absolutely inhales the lassi.Ā
Would call you a name of endearment in your mother tongue - THERE WAS AN AUTHOR HERE AND I WILL TAG THEM @beebee18 PLS GO READ THIS FIC BECAUSE ITāS THIS VERY ONE THAT CAUSED MY WHOLE SKZ X DESI READER BRAIN ROT - to have Chan call you meri jaan UGH
Would try and learn your language and would probably grasp common phrases like āIām hungryā or āI love youā. I can see him sneaking up on you when youāre out and about the house, sneaking up behind you and pressing a kiss to your shoulder ābukh lagi hainā (iām hungry)
Would ask you to marry him in your mother tongue.
Would cry at your wedding when youāre doing the rounds around the fire and saying your vows.
Minho
Would learn bollywood style dancing like bollywood hip hop or something similar to impress you.
Lee Know singing a Bollywood ballad. Thatās it. Thatās the thought,
Lee Know is really good at learning languages and I feel like he would learn your mother tongue to speak with you or your family. Youāre waiting for your mother to open the door when you take him to meet your parents, and youāre assuring him youāll translate everything they say. Then, when the door opens he immediately greets your mother fluently.Ā
Would cook your favourite traditional dish when youāre feeling homesick. He would text your mom, asking for the recipe before putting together the craziest thali (a/n: Iāve been writing about food so much Iām craving all of this now).
Tries to decorate the house for Diwali but doesnāt quite get how to do the rangoli so he calls Hyunjin for help. Hyunjin walks into your house to see Lee Know with multi-colored rangoli powder smudged onto his face and all over his hands. You come back to the house to find Lee Know chasing Hyunjin with a handful of tissues
Puts coconut oil in your hair and braids it for you. Doesnāt even say anything about it. One day youāre just doing it and he pops into the bathroom, takes the oil from your hands and does it. Massages it into your scalp and braids your hair. Then he just washes his hands and leaves. He does it for you every time now. Gets mad the one time when you decide to do it on your own and he does that angry little sigh. Doesnāt speak to you until you cuddle him and promise youāll let him do it from now on.
ChangbinĀ
You can not convince me this man would not listen to rap music in your mother tongue. Would probably have a favourite rapper. I feel like generally speaking he would be very interested in Bollywood music as a genre and style of music. He would be inspired to maybe include some of those elements like the instrument style etc in his own music.
Would have your contact name saved as a name of endearment in your mother tongue.
Would dance with you at weddings or events.
Would secretly take classes in your mother tongue so he could speak with you. Youād find out one day when you come back home and heās reciting a speech about how much he loves you.
You introduce him to biryani for the first time and itās officially his favourite thing. Catch him eating biryani in the dressing rooms in SKZ-Talker
Hyunjin
Would learn how to do mehendi just so he could do yours. I can see him making really beautiful designs of flowers in great detail.
If you know any kind of classical bollywood dances I feel like he would really want to learn the basics so he could dance with you.Bonus: When you get your mehendi done for your wedding, he would probably tear up when he finds his initials in the designs.
Would love watching the romantic bollywood movies - would probably cry WATERFALLS and deny it - but later he posts a painting of a scene from the movie on his instagram. Would slow dance to the romantic songs with you.
Would paint or photograph you in traditional clothing
Would buy you pretty jhumkas and bangles at the market. You find out later that they absolutely ripped him off his money for those bangles but itās okay because he loves you. That man would be so in love with you he probably build a whole palace in your name.Ā
HanĀ
Would learn an Arjit Singh song for you on the guitar (a/n: just had a thought about this - is arjit singh like the hozier of bollywood??). Would send full covers to you first, before posting a small snippet of it onto Instagram. He might upload a voice message of him singing it on Bubble for Stays but you know itās all for you.
Would watch bollywood shows and movies with you - probably (definitely) bawls his eyes out when you watch Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or KKKG.
Gets heavily invested in any kind of Bollywood tea, his jaw drops and gasps out loud when his favorite celebrity couple breaks up āthey broke up?!ā
Randomly blurts out dialogues from famous desi movies
FelixĀ
Judging by the amount of chicken this man eats on mukbang lives (r.i.p bbokariās cousins), he would LOVE butter chicken and naan. You canāt convince me otherwise because I know Iām right.
Would learn how to bake a traditional sweet and surprise you with it / nearly burns down the kitchen in the process and decides to just order a box of your favourite sweets. I get the feeling Felix would absolutely LOVE Indian sweets like gulab jamun or jalebi or ladoo.Ā
Would 100000% learn your mother tongue.
Would want to do his mehendi with you too - matching designs!!!
Holi! I can see Felix as someone who would really enjoy Holi. He would probably get really sneaky with it and innocently approach you before projectile launching a handful of a mix of colours at you (but thatās only payback because you did the same earlier).
Would surprise you with a trip to your home country when youāre feeling a little homesick.
SeungminĀ
This man would absolutely learn a ballad or a romantic song for you, would probably learn many just to sing to you - he would most definitely not tell you heās learning any of these songs until one karaoke night he just pulls out the mic and starts belting it out.
Would pretend to act uninterested when you start watching a desi show or movie (does the uninterested dad pose standing in the living room with his hands on his hips before gradually moving to sit down) but then he ends up being the one to start crying or to start yelling at the television screen. Gets upset when you keep getting advertisement breaks on the screen, is absolutely torn apart when he realises he needs to wait a whole week to find out what happens.
Would learn how to say i love you in your language. I feel like Seungmin is quite soft spoken in the way he expresses love, but he does it strongly. Youād be sitting on the couch together watching a Bollywood series and one of the characterās confesses to the other and he turns to you to do the same.
When you donāt mention important dates of celebrations and festivals, he surprises you by bringing it up first. Probably surprises you with a box of sweets. āWhat are these for?ā āItās Diwali today isnāt it?!ā
JeonginĀ
I feel like, as someone who sings Trot, Jeongin would really love singing classic Bollywood songs.
Would also get very invested in the shows and movies you watch. This man would not move a muscle from start to finish. Imagine if he watched Bahubali back when it released and at the end of the first movie heās dying to know what happens and you have to break it to him that he's going to have to wait years until the next movie comes out.
I feel like heād be really into the Bollywood action/superhero movies like he would really enjoy the Dhoom movie series or Don or Krrish. Youād catch him humming one of the songs from the movies or imitating SRKās iconic lines from the movie.Ā
He would really love your traditional food and would go out of his way to find authentic restaurants making this food to take you out on a date there - and then youād have to talk him through the whole menu and what each dish has.

Diyas
A Christmas themed excerpt for @noblehouseofgay 25 Days of Jegulus. Day 17 - Candles
Diyas are small oil lamps with a cotton wick often used in South Asia during worship and religious ceremonies and are lit during the festival of Diwali to symbolize prosperity in the New Year.
James POV, fifth year/fourth year for Regulus Rating: Teen 576 words
There was a knock on the door and James said, āEį¹į¹a?ā
Effie poked her head round the door. āIt is ready.ā
James had to admit, he was a bit giddy. It was not often his parents surprised him like they used to when he was a child. Abandoning their pie plates on the floor, James and Regulus hurried to the door.Ā
The hall was dark and there were small flickering diyas all along the perimeter of the floor. James sucked in an excited breath. He was never home during Diwali, as it was celebrated at the end of October and beginning of November. In the past, they had gone to Madurai to celebrate Jamesā favorite Indian festival, the Festival of Lights.Ā
James walked to the living room and saw the furniture had been cleared away leaving a large open space for a huge rangoli display, a beautiful lotus with ample geometric designs. There were diyas all over the floor, as part of the rangoli and on the few remaining surfaces in the room.Ā
āIt is for Regulus,ā said Effie. Regulus was blinking very quickly and rubbed his nose. James grabbed his hand.Ā
āThank you,ā Regulus whispered.
āTraditionally, rangoli is done outside the entrance to a house and represents happiness, positivity, and liveliness. It welcomes the Hindu goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and good luck.ā
Effie went to stand before Regulus and held out her hands. James let Regulusā hand drop and watched his mother hold both of his boyfriendās hands in hers. She was dressed in a deep purple sari, which had intricate gold embroidery on it.Ā
āRegulus, you are part of this family, as long as you want it. James loves you, and we love you.ā
James looked over and watched a tear track down Regulusā cheek. Regulus couldnāt wipe it away as Effie was still holding both his hands.Ā
āYou donāt even know me,ā he whispered.Ā
āWe know you. Sirius talks about growing up with you and James tells us about spending time with you at Hogwarts. We have had you in our home for five days now. I have watched James grow and mature as he has dated you. And to see the two of you together, you light each other up. So we wanted to give you some light of our own.ā
Regulus didnāt say anythingājust noddedātears still flowing down his cheeks. Effie pulled him into a tight hug. James watched Regulus wipe at his cheeks over his AmāmÄās shoulders.Ā
Monty also wanted to hug Regulus, which Regulus permitted.Ā
āThank you for being such a light in our sonās life,ā said Monty as he released Regulus. And James caught his fatherās eye, smiling shyly.Ā Ā
They all sat down and soaked up the warmth from the tiny flickering lanterns, while James and Regulus exclaimed in awe over the intricate workmanship of the rangoli lotus.Ā
āMagic helps,ā laughed Effie. āWhen I was a girl, my AmāmÄ made us daughters do it by hand until we were well into our school years. But I simply do not have that kind of time.ā
āIt is breathtaking, Effie,ā said Regulus. āCan you leave it?ā
Effie gave a sad smile, āIt is only for tonight love. The short lived joys always leave the greatest impression. Because we know they are going to fade, our minds remember more of the details. Then we can keep coming back to the memory.ā
Ā āI will remember this forever,ā Regulus said softly.
...
This is an excerpt from the one-shot I posted today, in celebration of the holiday season. Happy Holidays All!

Soā¦one of my favourite headcanons is that the Potter family are Indian. (Those of you whoāve read my Grindeldore/Wolfstar dancer fic might recall that Fleamont Potter, Jamesā father and the UK Prime Minister, is Indian in that. Funnily enough, our real life Prime Minister is a British Indian Hindu who became PM last year. On Diwali. Yeah, that was anā¦interesting day in the family. Still not entirely sure how I feel about it.)
Anyway - here are some headcanons about James Potter being Indian, some of which are based around how I actually grew up. (Note: there will probably be more as I think of them!):
When Holi comes around, James wakes the others up by pelting them with coloured powder. He does it every year and every year they fall for it. They also pelt everyone with coloured powder throughout the holiday. It took weeks for the paint to be cleaned fully. (Some people suspected Dumbledore deliberately let it stay like that because he liked the colours.)
Sirius got really angry the first time he heard someone call James a Paki. He doesnāt know what it means, but he never wants to see that look on Jamesā face again. He absolutely lost it when James told him what it meant. (For those of you who donāt know what it means, itās an incredibly racist slur towards south Asians; along similar lines of using the n-word to a black person. This is also why James gets so angry whenever anyone uses the word Mudblood - because he knows how that shit feels.)
Sirius helps James create magical rangoli patterns during Diwali. They also take over the kitchen for an evening trying to make Indian sweets. The results are mixed-looking, but they all taste good, and the house elves get some great new dishes.
Every time a festival falls on a full moon, they always celebrate a few days after so Remus can join in. (He hugely appreciates the sweets.)
James initially wasnāt thrilled that his Animagus form is a stag, since a deer is the form one of the bad guys took in the Ramayana when he triggered the events that led to Ramaās wife being kidnapped.
When Jamesā father died, he had a traditional Hindu funeral. Traditionally, the eldest son leads the proceedings, but when James broke down, Sirius stepped in to continue. In that moment, James loved Sirius more than he could put into words.
James also taught the Marauders some Hindi so they could talk privately, as well as some Indian magic.
James, Lily and Sirius actually go to india for their wedding outfits. Lily also has magical mendhi patterns done by Jamesā aunts and cousins. James also had to gently explain to Lily that wearing white is associated with funerals.
Petunia showed up to James and Lilyās wedding in a white dress to try and upstage the bride. Sheās very confused to realise a) Lily is not wearing white, and b) a lot of Jamesā relatives are looking at her weirdly, because sheās wearing a funeral colour.
At James and Lilyās engagement party, Jamesā aunties kept trying to set Sirius up with their daughters and teasing him about getting married. They shut up when Sirius snogged Remus in front of everyone. James wasnāt even mad that his engagement was briefly upstaged.
James has a book of Indian tales and legends passed down from his father. He read them to Harry at bedtime. Lily would smile and watch from the doorway. He also taught his friends some classic Indian songs to sing to Harry.
Every year on Raksha Bandhan, James ties a rakhi on Siriusā wrist and charms them so theyāll never come undone. One night, Sirius noticed the threads of one of them coming loose. That night was October 31st, 1981.

it's currently festival season in india (seriously everyday there is something going on) and i'm wondering if mary has done any rangolis with india
(sorry i just feel like she would have fun with them dsykdsfcbisehbcef like it is fun to make a fuck ass pattern with all the colours you want)
I did a lot of research on Rangoli and immediately I went "SO THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE CALLED???" so of course I had to draw India and Mary as she's using powder to make sweet lil flowers while India explains about the importance of Diwali to his people :) (i actually found a channel of someone making rangolis and its lowkey satisfying seeing powder come out of squeezey bottles and made into beautiful designs omg oh and that theres gonna be a diwali food festival while im in canada too)
I know Diwali is a bit away so let's say this can be a little Happy (early) Diwali from India and Mary :D

Diwali Imagine SKZā
Dunno what this really is but really short. Also trying to fulfill my inner south indian wishes. Also, I have one for enhypen and txt...just click on the links to find them...some of them repeat so lol!
happy diwali everyone!!!!
No, but imagine celebrating diwali with stray kids, like I just know it's going to be the most chaotic thing ever yet so fun. Chan is gonna be one of the uncles, you know talking about cricket or having a few drinks while at it. Also in charge of bringing the fireworks and it's either a hit or miss every year. Minho is going to be inside cooking all the food and sweets with the aunties. He's gonna be whipping out carrot halwa, gulab jamun, chana curry, pullihora, literally everything. Doesn't say much, but always tunes into the gossip. Changbin is the one that's putting out all the decorations. Lights? Check. Lamps? Check. Weird flashing holographic beams? Check. He's doing all the heavy work. Hyunjin is outside with the grandmas doing the rangoli with powder or chalk. And oh my god, it looks like an absolute masterpiece! Also, gets his cheeks pulled by the elders. Jisung is the one fighting everyone to light up the best fireworks. The biggest and boldest ones with the most fiercest names ever! Literally will tackle anyone in his way. 2/3 of the ones getting their cheeks twisted. Felix is the one entertaining the kids, but soon gets tired and falls over. He helps the little ones with the sparklers and with lighting the fireworks. Seungmin literally tries to burn down the house it's not even funny. He also will come up to anyone close and try to set their clothes on fire. You have to be careful around him. And finally, Jeongin is the baby, so you best believe he's going to have everything shoved into his mouth. Also first pick for fireworks, to the dismay of jisung. 3/3 of getting their cheeks absolutely torn.
And then finally there's you , looking stunning in whatever you wear, an angelic glow surrounding youāunaware of a pair of eyes staring at you oh so lovingly...

...some more desi!jon and martin hcs? for the soul?
Hello!!! Sorry for taking so long to answer, I needed to get into the right headspace lol
You know how it's a desi custom to like feed each other cake on birthdays? You do it with your loved ones especially so I'm imagining it's Jon's birthday and Tim insists on feeding him cake and he begrudgingly agrees then suddenly everyones feeding him cake and laughing and feeding everyone else and Martin really shouldn't feel like it's so intimate (indirect kisses as such) but it's a bonding moment for the whole archives crew
Jon is like insanely good at rangoli patterns, his grandma put him to work every festival season and it kept his hands busy for hours on end, building spiral patterns with vibrant powders. He lost some of it over the years, but in the Scottish Safehouse, he makes smaller patterns across the entrance almost as a sigil against everything they were being hunted by
Martin has a pretty good Bengali accent and is fluent, his mum refused to speak anything other than Bangla so he's kept it up all these years and gotten quite good at it to the point where he's sometimes mistaken for a native speaker
Jon has an atrocious accent and can just about get by in Hindi, he had been sat down by his grandma to try and teach him a couple of times over his childhood but he never could concentrate for long enough, his grandma shouted too much for his liking and he was a gifted kid so if he didn't get it immediately, he wouldn't do it at all
Jon's favourite Bollywood actor is Irrfan Khan cause he thinks he's super impactful and he loved him in Piku (but he grew up watching mostly old black and white Bangla movies directed by satyajit Roy like Pather Panchali)
Martin's favourite has to be SRK cause he's a classic and he grew up watching him and whenever he's sad he watches Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or Chennai Express
They both adore 3 Idiots though, like they were both screwed over by the education system in different ways (Martin struggled with juggling school and caring for his mum so he ended up dropping out, Jon and his burned out gifted kid vibes), they understand the pressure to get a certain level of educated and a certain type of profession (they would've gotten it from judgemental relatives lol like you couldve used your intelligence to become an engineer and instead you work for a falthu place) and they definitely understand the mental health issues and the friendship between the guys reminds them of their own friendships over the years
Also that song "give me some sunshine, give me some rain" like one day Martin's humming it and Jon's like is that???? and then Martin starts singing it and they do a little duet (martin was classically trained in rabindra Sangeet so he has a smooth velvety voice and jons is decent) and then it can become a super angsty call back in MAG 200
That's all I got!! Thanks for the ask!!

Dipawali special | Amv x Vanathi, VV x Kundavai
( Plz read the AN in the end, as it has info about the future posts, etc. )
Ā Ā Ā Vanathi sat on the floor drawing a big rangoli on one of the passageways in front of the big windows which looked over the scenery below. Just then she heard someone calling her from behind and a cry of a baby. She knew whose baby it was in an instant.
Ā Ā "Ilavarasi! Please look at our little Ilavarasare! He just won't stop crying!"
Ā Ā "Just bring him over" Vanathi shouted back, as Aamani came near her, with little madhu in her hands. Aamani handed madhu over to her. Vanathi's motherly instincts took over her as she didn't care that her fingure were lathered with pigments or that she was on the floor in an uncomfortable position, all that mattered to her was that her child was crying and she needed to console him.
Ā Ā Ā Vanathi took madhu in her hands and holded him close to her. He fitted so perfectly in her arms. His little head was resting on her shoulder as she slowly tapped his back, slowly cooing him. Someone had called Aamani from some other hallway so she had to go. She started to walk away but not before giving the mother and son duo an adoring look.
Ā Ā Ā Vanathi kept holding him. She could see the whole city below the palace starting to light up more than ever. Children's laughter, the smell of delicious delicacies cooking in the palace kitchen and the city. She wanted to stop this moment and just be in it for a long time. Everything and everyone was happy and good. And that the happiness of her life was resting on her shoulders right now.
Ā Ā Ā A few minutes after Madhu had stoped crying, she felt someone's presence behind her. She felt scared when it came all to near her. And even more scared when it slowly slid it's hand around her waist through all her clothing.
Ā Ā "Who are you?" She asked as she prepared to strike the man.
Ā Ā "Do I need to introduce myself to you mam?" Said the man. Vanathi relaxed as she figured out who it was.
Ā Ā "Yes mister" she said playing along with him
Ā Ā "Hmmm.... Let me think.... I am your husband, the father of your child and most importantly I am and will always be your yaanai paagan." Arulmozhi replied, whispering the last part, while resting his chin on her free shoulder.
Ā Ā Ā A small giggle left her mouth as he did so. Both of her loves were resting on her shoulders. They stayed like this for some time.... Just enjoying the silence, Amv had to leave for a battle in a few days, so he was cherishing all these moments.
Ā Ā "Aaya, we must get up now, the Pooja and programs will start now. Besides, people will start to look for us... Common, we must get up." Vanathi said while getting up. Amv looked unhappy at this, but, well, she was right .. wasn't she.
Ā Ā Ā After getting up, he stared at both of them as she fixed her dress, after sitting for so long. He always thought that what did he do to deserve such good and beautiful wife and child. His little tiger looked like him, but had inherited Vanathi's lotus like eyes. And... He was really mischievous. And he can say it confidently that he had inherited this mischievous behaviour from his father... Much to Vanathi's dismay.
Ā Ā Ā Vanathi looked up at him and caught him starting at her. She smiled to herself.
Ā Ā "Do you want to hold him?"
Ā Ā "Ha" Vanathi handed him Madhu and then both of them started to walk towards the mandir.
~~ā¢~~ VV and Kundavai
( Plz read... IMP : So, not to offend anyone, I am not a tamillian, so I don't actually know what they do there during Diwali.... I tried to search from Google but to no avail. In Maharashtra, we have a thing called 'Abhyanga Snan' in which, on the main day of Diwali (Narak chaturdashi / laxmipoojan) we wake up early morning and lather us with oils, massage, then we bath with utna and moti soap, I wanted to do something with VV and Kun on Diwali so .... Here it is)
~~~
Ā Ā Ā "Aae will you stay still! " Vanathi said. It was the morning of Diwali and Kundavai and Vanathi were massaging Vanthyathevan before the bathe. They had just did the same thing with Ponniyin selvan before VV, he had been quite but now he was sitting in front of Vanthyathevan panting like he had ran till Singhala and back.
Ā Ā "Are you trying to pull my hair out!" VV screamed as Kundavai oiled his hair rather.... Violently.
Ā Ā "Shut up! Look at Thambi, he sat quietly when we were massaging him! Just stay still."
Ā Ā "He is a good boy! And you both were gentle with him! And you both are treating me like I am a dirty cloth, and you are cleaning me alongside a river" After making this statement, Kundavai stoped abruptly. She bended down, came near his ear, and said:
Ā Ā "Maybe you are a piece of cloth."
Ā Ā "But I am your piece of cloth... Ain't I?" He replied turing his head to come face to face with her's.
Ā Ā "Maybe you are right" she said in almost a whisper. Their faces were so close to each other.... That.... Well.... You get it.
Ā Ā Ā "Aaiyo Akka I am also here! Don't forget that you are infront of your thambi!" Arulmozhi shouted sensing where it was going. When he shouted this Kundavai got straight up with heat creeping up her face faster than anything. She quickly looked at her thambi who had covered his eyes with his hands, and had a traumatized look on his face. Vanathi had turned away from them and was standing with her hands on her eyes.
Ā Ā Ā "Aae! Overacting machines! Got awkward by just this? Do I need to remind you how madhu came in this world in the first place?" Kundavai asked knowing full well what effect this tease was going to have on them.
Ā Ā "Akka" both of them them shouted, while emerging out of their respective hiding positions. Both of their faces were tomato red. I mean... More than tomato red.
Ā Ā Ā This reaction caused both Vanthyathevan and Kundavai to laugh out loud. They both were blushing so furiously, that Vanthyathevan thought that the couple might burst out of shyness. The rest of the festive day went like this. They were happy afterall! And ... Maybe... Teasing each other was the only this which the four of them did throughout that day. And we can just say, that the teasing went a big too far away till the night, as they went to sleep, stomach paining from all that laughing.
ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢~ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢~ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢~ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢~ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢~ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢~ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢ā¢
Happy/ Shubh Dipawali to all of you! Hope that you guys will have a nice and prosperous year ahead!
I know, I know, this isn't good, it may seem that I have fast forwarded a few things but I needed to post this within today while doing my Diwali chores too.... So... Sorry.
My Vacation has started and now that I have time, I have started writing Care p2, Away p4 and unexpected love p2 simultaneously. I am almost finished with Care p2, with more than 1000 words, it will be out till tomorrow or day after tomorrow. The others will come one by one. I am open to requests again, so feel free to tell me. The idea for this OS came in my mind 1-2 days ago, and have been written this since, this isn't much, but... I wrote it just for fun.
I hope that you guys liked this. Instances mentioned are from the book. If any confusion let me know! :)
Any suggestions and feedback appreciated.
Why are you atheist??
Iāve been staring at this ask for a while now since itās such an odd thing to just ask and I was trying to figure out when Iāve ever mentioned religion so I can answer in response to what theyāve seen but I donāt know when Iāve mentioned it.
Iāve never been a person of faith, I remember in year 2 (6/7 years of age) I was at a school Mass and I realised everyone else around me believed what was being said whereas I thought what was happening was just another story. Iāve always took religious teachings as stories to teach morals and guidance but I never took them literally.
I used to attended a Greek Orthodox church on Sundays and Iām christened Greek Orthodox and I didnāt mind it because the priest was a lovely person. He would say things like Science is the pursuit of understanding Gods creation and he would talk about how important education is. But the thing that stood out to me was he once said being trans isnāt a sin, itās the journey God planned for that Individual. So when I was younger I wasnāt aware of the more homophobic and transphobic sides of religion.
It wasnāt until I started attending the Catholic secondary that I realised that some people used religion to back up ideas of hate and I became very anti Christian and stopped attending church because as a young Queer kid the bullying and being told Iām going to hell all the time really got to me.
My mum also became very unwell, she has a chronic illness amongst many other disabilities so I also thought if there is a God he doesnāt care because why would he make a child watch there mother slowly die and loose her mind and become abusive.
I loved talking to my friends about their religions though, Iāve always been fascinated with beliefs and faith because Iāve never had any. I partook in Ramadan one year to support my friend who was finding it hard and their family invited me to Iftar and I really respected how important their faith must be for them to do this because it was very difficult. Another experience I wonāt forget was watching my friends mum create a Rangoli because she put so much care and attention into it and it is still one of the most beautiful things Iāve ever seen because of that care that went into it.
But it wasnāt until I was 17 I started recognising not all religious people are oppressive, some people use it for oppression but if you take people individually who believe in it thatās not a bad thing.
But there are still things I donāt like, for an example at my secondary we were put into religious houses and mine was house Vanier, turns out that guy was an awful person. His name is Jean Vanier if anyone wants to look him up but itās just disgusting. Also the priest at the Catholic Church closest to where I live was found out to be preying on children, I have no idea what happened to him in the end but it was a big deal in my town. I also live near some Jehovahās witnesses who for a month straight harassed me after pride because I assume they saw me coming home with pride face paint and stickers on and I had leaflets about sinning coming through the letter box constantly, and even now they still bang loudly on my door to preach when Iāve explained me, my mum and dad all have diagnosed ptsd and find it distressing. My RE teacher also told our class how he pressured his friend who was SAād into keeping her baby and he was so proud of himself and it made me feel sick, he did loose his job because he told a student theyāll die and go to hell if they take the pill even though they were taking it for medical reasons.
Thatās the part of religion I hate, itās those individuals I hate. I donāt hate religion or people who practice religion but I hate the fact those things happened.
One of the kindest adults in my life was the school Chaplin, she told me she prayed everyday for my mum to get better and she prayed for me during my exams. I spent a lot of time in the chapel because it was quiet when I was having panic attacks and she used to just sit with me and talk me through them.
Iāve lost track of what Iāve written but
Iām not anti religion. Me not being a religious person isnāt anti religion. Iām anti people using religion as an excuse to be horrible to others.
Iāve just never had any sort of beliefs, in my mind everything is just a coincidence. I donāt believe in an after life, ghosts, superstitions or anything like that either. But thatās who I am and I donāt think that should offend anyone. But I also know I could be wrong and I canāt tell anyone their religion is wrong or right because I simply donāt know that.
I think I prefer the term agnostic (a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God) over atheist because itās as simple as I donāt know but I donāt think anyone is wrong for having faith.
But also I want to add Iām a white person talking about religion and my experience, all over the world people have different experiences so it doesnāt actually matter what I say. Iām just answering an ask and if you ever want to talk to me about religion Iām always happy to.
#this is a long post so Iāve highlighted parts I think are important#but I also mention at the end Iām a white person and Iām also in the UK#my experience is very different#so it doesnāt actually matter what I say#religion#agnostic#atheist#tw sa mention#I think the last 4 paragraphs sum up everything quite fast#but idk#read if you want#but this isnāt intended to offend anyone#and always ask or message me if you want to talk about religion
Hiii! i freaking love you and all your work! i wanted to know when youāll be posting the next part of blue moon (that is if you still are) and also do you think y/n and mason will be having a joint desi and english wedding and all of the rituals? and future kidsš
thank you lovely!! š«¶š½
i think i might just finish blue moon where it is, iām not sure i want to carry it on anymore š i might make an epilogue at some point tho!!
omg yes y/n and mason will for sure we having a desi wedding and an english wedding! y/n grew up in england so she wants to have a white wedding as well as a traditional indian wedding
itād start with the ceremony at a stately country manor house, y/n in a beautiful white figure-hugging gown with a train and mason in a black tux crying at the altar when she walks down the aisle to an instrumental of a love song that y/n wrote for him. theyāll both cry during their vows even though masonās is full of stupid jokes, and then heāll kiss her softly when the ceremony ends. then theyāll have the reception in a ballroom with florals and veuve clicquot and a string quartet. theyāll both have an outfit change ofc with their extra selves š their first dance would be to an instrumental version of a bollywood song like maula mere maula š„¹ their loved ones will do speeches and toasts and itāll be a classy night until everyone gets drunk on cocktails and they finally stumble into their rooms at like 3am
then the week after that will be all the events of an indian wedding but rather than the bride and groom being split, their families do all the events together (bc obviously masonās white family donāt know what theyāre doing š). theyāll have a maiyan with rangoli in the chelsea badge, and itāll end with mason and y/n throwing the haldi paste at each other š theyāll have a ladies sangeet with everyone getting their mehndi done(the boys will all ask for the chels lion or something stupid like that š), and masonās gonna spend forever looking for his initials and his number 19 in y/nās mehndi. heās gonna be annoying and try to get involved in the boliyan that y/nās aunties and grandmothers are singing, but heāll be demoted to doing the tambourine. the jago night will be dance battle after dance battle, and masonās stupid ass gets lectured by y/nās bibi for nearly dropping the jago š
masonās gonna facetime y/n on the wedding morning for her to check that his turban is on properly but steph and isla will answer instead so he canāt see her getting ready. y/n will be at the gurdwara early and sheāll watch the milni through a window, nearly crying at her and masonās families greeting each other. when y/n walks into the hall in her red bridal lehenga, everyone will be gasping and mason canāt help but look even though heās not supposed to, making him cry at the sight of her again. y/n sits beside him and heāll crack some stupid joke before the ceremony starts, the two of them giggling like idiots. theyāll do the ceremony, mason so nervous about making sure he gets everything right, walking slowly for the four laavan so y/n doesnāt trip over behind him. when the fourth laav is done, theyāll both be smiling like idiots bc theyāre officially married in both cultures. they wonāt be able to help themselves from holding hands during all the hymns and when everyone finally leaves the hall at the end of the ceremony, theyāll get to share a cute little kiss.
y/n and the brideās side will go back to her parents house, and when mason and his side arrive at the house, y/nās sister and all the girls will be at the door, making him do stupid challenges and getting him to pay them a grand each so he can take their sister. y/n will cry as she says bye to her family, leaving the house as a married woman, and mason will have tissues for her in his pocket but heāll also be trying not to laugh at her š
y/n and mason will get ready for the reception at his house, both of them in navy blue for the party, and theyāll do a big extra entrance into the hall with flashing lights and dhol players. theyāll cut the wedding cake, mason feeding y/n a piece and y/n smushing a piece into masonās cheek instead. theyāll have another first dance, this time to an instrumental of Die For You, and then itāll go straight into everyone joining them on the dance floor bc the djās playing classic wedding bhangra. theyāll both dance until their feet hurt and everyone will get super drunk with the free bar, and the whole thing will just be perfect š„¹
#and yes theyāll have at least four children#and theyāll spend their wedding night on adoption websites š#this was so fun to write omg i just wanna marry mason and have a desi wedding with him š#blue moon š
Jan 4th : my bus broke down so I rounded up 2 girls who live near me and got a cab to uni
Then i got stopped at the gate because I wasn't following the "dress code" which lead to a whole lot of administrative bullshit now I am forced to wear ugly clothes. obviously.
Jan 5th : skipped uni cuz i didn't have a lotta classes and didn't wanna deal with the "dress code" .bought a chill game and only got out of bed to make and eat food . best day of this year so far.
Jan 6th : wore clothes which loosely confirm to the "dress code", my fault for being born as a woman.
Went to bf's house after college Lotta kissing then cooking and eating followed by a heavy dry humping session then he drove me home
Jan 7th : pretty uneventful.have uni on Saturday so horrible dress code , lotta coding went home played dreamlight valley.sleep.
Jan 8th : finally Sunday. Finished my assignments helped friends with their assignments.played all day till it was time to sleep,got Anna and Elsa!!!!
Jan 9th : went lil late to uni cuz the bus was late .bf wore short to play sports*drool*.
we have hoildays coming up so our teacher decided that to give us an assignment which would require us to talk to a lotta ppl our age so we had to do it before the break and I had to talk to so many strangers it was horrible,but it's over now.
Jan 10th : went to uni and did jigsaw puzzles online then looked for good vampire books,failed, helped my friend do an assignment then there was some celebration which consisted of a series of un rehearsed and repetitive performances followed by a "DJ" sesh where everyone "danced" me and my classmates watched from very far away. Atleast the picture of us sitting on the stairs is good ig.
Jan 11th : woke up stayed on my phone. impulsively baked cookies then spent the whole day mostly fishing online. Then my bf infuriates me by telling me he's watching clips of a sitcom with his buddies which I would love for him to watch properly because it's awesome but that's " too boring" or "too slow" meh meh meh meh meh.
Jan 12th : i didn't do anything important.finished reading "king of battle and blood". Toasted bread played my game and though i would stay up all night and play but just slept like an old person :]
Jan 13th : It's be days since I took a shower but I just played my game and toasted bread again.
Jan 14th : day of festival was woke up but loud festive and cinema music around a bon fire went out of my room and my father was awake so we both went to check out the bonfire and music.
Came back home and mom told me I had to do the colouring of the rangoli.then food, shower, food, ride your wave(movie), food, top gun maverick (not a tradition it just kinda happened) and food again then sleep.
Jan 15th : woke up and had to do another rangoli the food then shopping for clothes cuz "dress code" i hate uni :\ ,Burger King then home.
i was also do this thing where I waited to text my bf the same amount of time he took to reply to me so we weren't talking much but he did not notice so ig I'm the idiot. Showed him my dressess thought I'd model some for him but he didn't even see them fast enough so i didn't. Atleast he talked to me at night i.e. he was replying fast enough to hold a conversation.
Jan 16th : woke up late than usual still had to do rangoli for the last day of festival so no more. Fluffy food, the rangoli, pineapple, shower, food, more sleep, bread(i don't not know how to use broil), dreamlight + tamako market, dinner, dreamlight ,
Ahum January is over and i completely forgot about this
So i just decided to dump this here
