chapter 34 - i'll see you in the meadow

When Milly awoke, it was slowly and reluctantly.

It was hardly morning; she wondered if Meryl was even up preparing breakfast yet. The suns were rising, but they weren’t high enough in the sky to cast beams through the windows, only illuminating with what light could leak over the dunes. The room was barely lit, not that Milly had bothered with looking around. 

She was perfectly content to continue laying in bed, eyes too heavy to fully open. It was so warm as she snuggled with the pillow laid on her chest. She hummed and pressed her face closer, feeling his hair against her lips and between her fingers.

Milly’s eyes opened wide.

I've been meaning to ask what exactly is your AU about? From what I've seen so far on your blog I'm guessing in this AU the creeps attempt to rehabilitate themselves and try to be the "good guys" in a sense? But I'm pretty sure there's more to it than that. Also, what exactly are the house rules in the mansion that Slender's made in your AU? Sorry if this has already been written somewhere and I haven't seen it yet, but I still appreciate the reply nonetheless. Thank you, and Happy Writing! :3

I’m so sorry this got so long- Rules are at the bottom and labeled btw, I wrote as many rules as I could come up with~

I suppose a rehabilitation AU, as you said, would be the best way to describe what my AU is like for the creeps.

I know I tend to write them as happy, soft creeps 90% of the time, but for the newer followers or the ones that have been around awhile but haven't realized- they are NOT all happy and soft. I just tend to write them that way as it's not everyone's cup of tea to have them as damaged assholes, which is what they are, although I'd like to write them that way more and I've been working on showing my versions of them more frequently, because, let's be honest that the creeps will NOT be happy with every single type of s/o that you guys request, as that's just how people work.

I'd call it a rehabilitation AU because, for those unaware, Slender does very much rehabilitate them. They canonly on my blog HAVE to take medication for their disorders, and there are required therapy appointments once a week. The creeps are NOT really all that adjusted to society, and in my character analysis' (three of which I've written, although I plan to write more when I'm in the right headspace), I tend to touch on the horrible things they've been through.

In a sense, I'd say they're "good guys" compared to themselves in their original canon, if only for the fact that they aren't just killing willy-knilly, slaughtering anyone they want. Slender and Zalgo both own assassination businesses, where they will accept clients and kill who they want. I'm not sure about Zalgo, but for Slender, he accepts clients that want ACTUALLY horrible people murdered, and not just, ya know, Joe down the street that plays his music too loud. I'd suppose in a way they're sort of like vigilantes? So maybe it's a Vigilante/Rehabilitation AU!

I will also make it clear- The creeps do not ALL enjoy killing, and most of them just do it so they have a place to live and get food. BEN, Sally, Splendor, and Trendor for example, do not kill at all. Jeff, Jane, Liu, Toby, and Natalie I'd say are a group that definitely doesn't enjoy killing, although they aren't sure what else they could do with their lives. I have rarely touched on this as well- LJ on my blog DOESNT like hurting children. This thought has evolved over the course of the blog, but now I'm dead set on the fact that LJ doesn't like harming kids, and he's distancing himself from it.

I'd suppose to sum it up in a sense, they're working to rehabilitate themselves from their trauma, and working as vigilantes in order to support themselves. I write them in present times, but I can say without a doubt that in the future when the creeps get as rehabilitated as they can, that 90% of them, at least, would move on from this sort of work and do something more normal, less violent. It'll take years though because as I've said, they're all severely mentally damaged, and I don't often touch on and show that aspect a lot, but it's not always a healthy place in the mansion. If anyone wants more info/requests on that, I'm happy to write it! I hope this helped clear things up a bit more! Now:

RULES OF THE MANSION

Residents may not harm another creep. Those joined under Slender are a united front of allies, and personal vendettas are not allowed. Intentional harming of another creep will result in, at the very least, permanent expulsion from the mansion.

Residents must follow the allocated chores and jobs assigned to them. For doing them, they will be paid a wage and provided food and a roof over their head to live in. Failure to complete them will result in docked pay, and if it continues, expulsion from the mansion.

Residents must keep their identity a secret from those not associated with the mansion when they are working in the human world. The ability to disguise themselves will be granted, and they are not to expose their true identity unless permission has been granted by Slender.

If they choose to date someone from the human world, their identity must be hidden from them for at least one year. If their relationship makes it to one year and it's still going strong, Slender will make himself known to the partner. The truth of who the creep is and what they do will be exposed (assuming the creep is ready), and the partner must either swear to keep the secret, or if they are unwilling and want to end things, Slender will alter their memory so they don't remember him or the truth, and the relationship will end.

Residents must take care of themselves. This includes eating, personal hygiene, proper sleep, and mental health. If they are unable to care for themselves for mental health reasons, assistance will be provided until they are back to good health.

Residents must keep their rooms and possessions cleaned and tidy, just like the rest of the mansion. Room checks are done weekly, and rooms must be cleaned to standard. 

Residents may not kill someone that was not assigned to them. Killing anyone unassigned to you or another creep will results in a deep chastising and punishment based on the severity of who the victim was.

Residents are free to come and go as they please, however, if a resident is gone from the mansion for more than two months they will be contacted by Slender. If contact fails or they still refuse to return, they will have one more week to return to the mansion. Failure to return without a valid excuse will result in termination of the contract and they will be expelled from the mansion.

Residents are NOT to talk about any private information shared to them by Slender, even with each other. The spilling of confidential information will warrant a punishment based on the severity of the information spilled and could end in expulsion.

Residents are not allowed to damage or alter the mansion in any way. Doing so will result in the money required to fix the damage being taken from the resident's paycheck, and punishment based on severity.

Residents that were or are human must receive an education equal to that of a high school graduate degree. If the residents failed to graduate from school for any reason before joining the mansion, the education will be provided to them within the mansion.

Residents must know how to swim. If the resident does not know how to swim, lessons will be provided for safety reasons to prevent the resident from drowning on a mission. Residents that are already dead (BEN, Puppeteer, Sally, etc.) are exempt from this as they are unable to drown.

Residents must go through some amount of training on a weekly basis to stay in shape for the job. A minimum requirement for training must be met, although residents that are exercise-driven may exceed this amount and train as frequently as they'd like so long as no overexertion or injury occurs. Residents that don't kill are exempt from training but encouraged to partake.

Residents must eat a healthy diet consisting of proper nutrients to keep themselves healthy and fully functioning. Dietary supplement usage is also permitted and encouraged. (Not like- weight loss but ya know, like vitamin stuff)

Regular doctor checkups and physicals are required. This also includes optometrist visits, dental visits, etc.

Kokichi Ouma  Even before the two of them had gotten together, Kokichi’s sly words came almost as often as his breaths. Now that he had access to S/O nearly 24/7 it became even worse. Because he could tease him in different ways, without the personal space barrier getting in his way (not that it stopped him before). 

“Kokichi!” S/O cried out, his face was red as a beet and his face was in his hands. The sheer cuteness of his boyfriend’s appearance caused a toothy smile to appear on Kokichi’s face. He truly was a little devil.

Kokichi’s unique laugh exited his mouth while he crawled over to his boyfriend and sat on his lap, his smaller stature made him perfect to sit on him. The little noise that had come from S/O only made Kokichi even more grateful for that. “Aww, S/O! But you’re just so cute when you blush like that~!” He giggled, the ever-present teasing tone sneaking into his voice. 

S/O attempted to control his breath, not wanting to overheat and faint. It hadn’t happened before, but he surely didn’t want it to ever happen. He couldn’t put Kokichi through that type of worry. “You can’t just say things like that so willy-knilly, Kokichi! It’s... Embarrassing.” He tried to explain, but it only fell onto deaf ears. 

“Oh come on, it isn’t that bad. All I said was that you were cute! If that’s too much to handle then imagine what would happen if I said some dirty things to you.” Kokichi mentioned, sitting up and wrapping his arms around S/O. “If I didn’t know any better you might just die,” he hummed, “I couldn’t have my precious S/O dying on me now!”

Part of S/O wanting to reprimand Kokichi, but the majority of him had been focusing on the beginning of his sentence. ‘Dirty things. Dirty things. Dirty things!’ He sincerely hoped that wasn’t what he had in mind, S/O could handle it before they had become a couple, but now it would be way too much. If he said the wrong thing, or acted the wrong way Kokichi would never let him hear the end of it. 

Of course, before S/O could even response Kokichi knew what he was thinking. “Aww, aren’t you just the most innocent thing ever.” He said, adding a laugh at the end of it. “I almost can’t believe that I ended up with someone as naive and cute as you!”

chapter 32 - calling from the meadow

When Milly walked out to the garden the day after the planting, she was surprised to find Knives already there. Their gazes met for a moment before Milly forced herself to occupy the opposite end of the garden.

She joined him for the limited amount of work they needed to accomplish, but Milly couldn't decide if she was happy to be spending the time with him.

Sir Kn8 + Hila the Killa Newsletter Vol. IV

Hello friends, 

Hope all things are coming up roses in your respective cosmic flowerbeds. 

First off, we have a very particular announcement: We, Sir Kn8 and Hila the Killa, have decided to start billing our duo formation under the moniker 

*** KILLIN H8 *** ! 

It’s an apt combination of our names, and a not unsuitable description of our mutual quest. Runners up include Hillucin8, Murder Horse, and Hilli va Knilli — thanks to everyone who made suggestions. This makes it easier for us to promote shows and release new music, with the added benefit of mitigating the stormy clashes of our torrential artsy egos — after all, we could never decide which of the two names to put first. Much is afoot for Killin H8. First, a handful of shows of various kinds and flavors:

Meanwhile we’ve been busy in the lab, laying down the first songs of an upcoming EP — expect that, as well as a new Sir Kn8 mixtape, in the coming season(s). Not that seasons seem to matter anymore, in New York at least, where it’s blistering cold and snowstorms in the middle of March. Also: Hila will be hosting a zero-waste meet-up to discuss strategies for waste-free living.
