Why is episode eleven of Oblivion battery actually so fucking GOOD!?!?!

We've got one episode left and I'm practically begging for someone, whoever the fucking hell is in charge to go "Oh my bad, we've actually got 24 eps scheduled not 12 oopsie"

I'm having way too much fun watching, wish i had screencaps from all my favorite moments this episode but i was just so enraptured I forgot I was gonna have to say something. Too lazy to go back now so we just make due.

Chihaya and Todo have been my favorite characters since day one and believe me why I say I expected the most generic ass template backstories for them that would be rushed through just to make space for Kei and Haruka.

I would have been fine with that cuz I simply enjoyed seeing them on screen, the whole team is a delight but what the show does super well in my opinion is mixing in the goofiness with such heavy themes. Yama's deep seaed insecurities, Kei's amnesia, Todo's yips, Haru's subtle devastation at losing a part of his best friend...it all blends together so well and pulses with a kind of refreshing look at the challenges I see faced by teenage athletes in sports animes.

Usually it's all just, become stronger, play better, beat rival, prove mean team wrong (which isn't bad, I'm a knb fan, I follow blue lock and I'm at S2 of haikyuu so I do not be minding) but here it genuinely feels like I'm watching te characters go through these changes an explore their relationship with base ball and their teammates. The sport has hurt them so much but they love it despite all that and I think that's the real pull of the show.

I don't know if it's okay for me to call Chihaya's struggles body dysmorphia and eating disorder but that hit the close to home I felt shock. Of all things that could be his backstory i wasn't expecting any of that but it was handled so well I felt near tears.

Y'all I love him so much.

And he and Todo look so fucking GOOD together especially when taunting Kei I CAN'T.

It kind of just reminds me of Free, no overly elaborate life stakes competitions, just drama, angst and beautiful character work.

All in all, good fucking show, hope they stick the landing in a way that'll make me say "Fuck exams I'mma read the manga now." That's all I want but it's so busy. I frankly expected I'd hate this more than wind breaker but I'm only going to talk about that elephant in the room after episode 13. Bucchigiri made me lose fate in mappa but they pulled through with this one.

Is the Oblivion Battery Fandom alive? Or even a thing? Let me know I don't want to be left alone and obsessed after next Tuesday plss TT

we’ve literally only got 3 eps so like this is mostly based on vibes but i’m still objectively  right

Futaba: would probably fall for a pyramid scheme, accidentally wears his socks in the shower at least twice a week, needs his mum to make haircut appointments for him

Misato: tries to act cool but gets called ‘Misa-pon’ by his friend from middle school, probably doesn’t have object permanence, ‘based? based on what?’ 

Shichigahama: how tf am I gonna bully him when his name takes so long to say? paints his nails but always fucks up his left hand despite doing it for years 

Watari: probably thought the ‘9 + 10 + 21’ meme was funny when he was 12, definitely cried when he got his ears pierced, i bet he’s wearing that headband to hide a hugeass forehead, kyan reki kinnie lookin ass 

Onagawa: literally and idol stan 

Tsukidate: in his character images on the wiki he’s standing with his ankles crossed in the fruitiest way i’ve ever fucking seen, has the vibes of somebody who’s parents signed him up for violin lessons

Mashiro: probably spends way too long on his hair, ‘i’m not being mean i’m just being honest’, looks like he’s good at freestyle dancing so as an awkward person i have an obligation to bully him, kaomoji user

Takase: does zumba with his grandma, ayo kagami from knb called he said he wants his look back 

Mutsu: talks about how he’d be great at hiding a dead body but cries at horror movies, looks like he has asthma, homophobic gay, being petty is not a personality trait luv xx 

Ominato: well at least they’ll never lose him in a crowd with hair like that, posing with his hand on his hip in his wiki image like some kinda gayboy 

Ryugamori: how’s that perpetual casual sadako cosplay working out? idk this guy is fucking unreadable, looks like he had an mcr phase ig?? 

Azuma: there are no thoughts behind those eyes, the lights are on but nobody’s home, apparently he’s from chiba, which is famous for peanuts, but he looks like he definitely carries around an epipen 24/7 for his nut allergy lmao

Hi, It's the Akakuro anon! Sorry I didn't see you answer my post till now. To answer your question Haru's my favorite (basic, I know). I tend to click more with stotic, "Kuudere" characters like Kuroko. I'm only halfway through season 1 due to time constraints so it's a little early for me to be shipping. I have my eye on Rinharu though because of you hyping it up and I'm really digging their dynamic. So probably them by the time I'm finished. LOL

Hi:) YAY! *high five*. Actually it’s not basic, we’re in the manority here haha. Haru is not as loved as Rin or... tragically Makoto lmao so yeah. Same, I’m into quiet but sassy type, too. I also feel like people rarely actually get him from what I saw, unless they show him cry or yell like in s3, which is sad tbh. Actually even after him crying in the pool and the whole “Starting Days” I got an ask “do you really think Haru misses Rin?” which is just... huh??? lol 

But my sister was friends with a guy, who has watched KNB and said that Kuroko was “plain”, even though to me Kuroko is as far from plain as can be. Like how do you not see this little shit for who he is? lmao that fake dandelion is sneaky af

I also saw funny comment on kissanime under the last ep of s1 of Mo Dao Zu Shi, who thought that Lan Wangji wanted to take Wei Wuxian with him to Cloud Recesses to punish him for using dark arts xD I was like “well... maybe he did, but not in the sense you’ve meant” lmao

Haha true, I hype Rinharu 24/7, it’s embarrassing, hope you’ll love them though. They’re both really amazing tbh.
