my crowning jewel, The Kiss by Gustav Klimpt, made out of magazine clippings!!! i am so, so happy with the way this turned out, and i’m incredibly proud i stayed with it! this is one of my favorite paintings of all time, so i had to recreate it!! any reblogging would help me share this project that i’m so incredibly proud of.

My very first finished coloring book page!

The art is by @mawrblaidddrwg and it's based off of Klimpt's The Kiss. I was so excited to color this as not-an-artist and I put a lot of thought into the coloring, especially the coloring of the flowers (there's a whole thing about colors in flower language, especially about Hydrangeas) and both of these flowers are so nostalgic to me because they grew outside my house as a kid.

I did some color blending for fun, and a couple of attempts at shading, but I am not an artist and mostly just had fun. I can't wait to go on and try some other fun things with this amazing book and all the amazing art in it.

I'm sure most people have heard of The Kiss by Klimt, but what about the portrait of Amalie Zuckerkandl (~1917)? This striking portrait went unfinished as Klimpt died suddenly. Amelie, a jewish woman, was murdered in a concentration camp in 1942.

Hello! I just wanted to tell you that your JayVik “The Kiss” is absolutely gorgeous. I got to see the original when I was in Austria a few weeks ago, and Klimpt is one of my favorite artists, so seeing my favorite boys done in that style is just so. Ugh. Stunning!!!
