GALE IS NOT A MAN BUILT FOR ENDURANCE. At least, not the kind of endurance that sustained fighting requires —— he is brave, he is fierce, he is bold and not lacking in courage — but he is no soldier, no warrior, no fighter built from a lifetime of swinging weapons. And oh, but he has a great respect for it —— but his endurance is one for books and studying and hours of ritual and the concentration required for pulling and moulding the Weave, not in physical exertion. 

And not, entirely, in enduring pain, either —— though he has a bit more experience in that, given the orb’s nature. 

" Oh, you know, it keeps us on our toes, " he scoffs with a kind of affable humor. " Keeps things exciting! Thrilling! And seeing you wade in fearlessly, axe swinging, going ever forward, scattering the enemy before you —— why, it’s like something straight out of a story. Inspiring, truly. " 

He stands when they do. " It can wait. We have a long day ahead, and one I suspect will still hold many surprises, and many fights besides. Our resources are not unlimited, and I would rather make certain that we have them for true dire need. " He smiles, then, and gives their hand a reassuring squeeze. " You have done a fine job, and bolstered my spirits besides. I am fine. I am no wilting flower, I can handle it. "

The wolf-kissed forgets - not everyone has enough second winds to carry them through the battle, and it was enough to make them feel a bit guilty when they noticed the wound on Gale's wrist. Eivor knows immediately what they must do, so when it came time to finally rest they directed the wizard to the log and knelt before him where they could see the wound. Light azure gaze trace the wound, before pulling out a few bandages and ointment to help make the pain more... Bearable. They bandage up the wound, but once it was covered they made sure to place a gentle kiss against it with their scarred lips. They pulled back a little after, gaze shifting up at the wizard with softened gaze. ❝I'm sorry. I should not have ran in there like I did. Getting you hurt like that... Reckless of me.❞ They slowly stand back up, gently holding his hand - giving it a tender squeeze but not too hard - cautious of his wound. ❝Are you sure you could wait? We can get one of them to take care of it for you.❞
