I recently finished ‘Turnabout Academy’ and omggg it is one of my favorite third cases!!! I loved all the characters and I’m gonna scream about it under this cut because there will be ✨spoilers✨

So, first of all, the cast and story for this case is S rank! I love all the twists and the comedy in this one is great~!

I was so shooketh to see Junie as a student here!!! She wanted to be a judge?! But she was so shy in Turnabout Countdown! And look at her here, so confident and…distant?! Girl, why are you giving Thena the cold shoulder? 🥺 and I was totally suspicious of Hugh and Robin from the jump. I initially thought they killed Constance and roped Junie into helping them hide the body. The way I was waaaaay off 😂😂😂

Aristotle Means is my favorite villain! One look at him and him being a little too nice and I knew he was in on the murder! But more on him later.

Ok, so when they said a famous prosecutor was going to give a lecture, I had assumed they were talking about Edgeworth! I forgot all about Klavier 😅 but listennnn, Edgeworth wears fuchsia just like Klavier and Phoenix was the other lecturer, so I just assumed it had to be Edgeworth! But it was so nice to see Klavier again! And it’s so nice that he’s still flirting with Apollo 🤧

Day 1 of the trial was crazy!!!! Once again, I was completely off with where I thought they were going with Robin. I thought we were getting a transgender character! But now Robin is free to be the girly girl she really is 😭 *smashes a vase*

I thought I really believed Hugh was the killer (and his attitude wasn’t helping) the whole time tho..he was such a jerk, but by the time of the second day of the trial rolled around, turns out he was just an idiot 😂 an idiot with a pure heart! Can’t believe they had me rooting for him in the end! And all the secrets that were exposed about him! A 25 year old genius 🤭

You know what took me out? Fulbright waving and screaming out the window “In justice we trust!” and Athena waving back and replying, “In justice we trust!” and Klavier is just like, “….wtf. Is that a greeting between you two weirdos?” I loved that 😂😭 Y’know, I had my doubts about Fulbright because I miss Gumshoe, but Fulbright is awesome! I love this guy! In justice we trust~

Omg, back to Aristotle Means!!! Him losing it in court and going full-on professor mode was so awesome!!!! I loved how he had us all fooled about the location of the crime scene! And then him causing Athena to have a crisis in court was 😄👌🏾 perfection! I felt so bad for Athena, but Robin, Hugh, Junie, and shockingly Blackquill giving her encouragement was such a beautiful moment! It made taking down Means even better!!!

I cackled when Athena was proving how a corpse could be a statue and she asked Apollo to tie her up and said, “Wait. You’re not into this, are you?” ATHENA PLSSSS 😂😂😂 Poor Apollo!

And then we get Means’ breakdown which was so GOOD!!!!! I loved his suggested punishments and him getting booed and rocks thrown at him!

Also, me and Athena anytime Apollo mentioned his friend: Oh Apollo, you can’t just go around making up people 🤭

And I’m glad the three besties (plus Myriam) got a happy ending! It would be cool if they were setting up Junie to be a judge in the future and take the role from our old judge, but I doubt that’ll happen especially since Junie said she wants to stay home in Turnabout Countdown.

Anymoo, I really had a good time with this case! Case 4 and 5 have a lot to live up to 😌 I’m excited to find out why Apollo is being all emo and junk! You belong at the agency, damn it!

Y’know, I was worried this game wouldn’t be as good because Takumi didn’t work on it, but I was wrong~! I’m loving this game ^^

oh god what haven't i said NELKNDKLNFG hmmm... you know talking abt datz and beh'leeb friendship had me thinking about whether or not datz likes the plumed punisher. if this was touched on in canon i don't remember it (besides the part where [edgeworth voice] Mr Are'bal and him had a discussion about it, APPARENTLY,)

bc on one hand i think he could totally find humor in them being the Bad Guys and i just know he and dhurke make jokes about that always, but i think it's like. i think they're hatewatching. i think there isn't anything else on tv half the time so theyre watching reruns of this shit propaganda show that sucksENLGDFKNG i think datz genuinely doesn't like it but also he knows too much about it. beh'leeb baiting him into arguing about whether the fourth tv special should be considered canon.

but he'd love the steel samurai like it's not bad bc it's cheesy tokusatsu garbage.. it's bad bc it's propaganda. datz get into kamen rider ok?

Once I wrap up my current one-shot WIPs (plus one new one because an anon got me flustered with a klapollo request the other day and I'm dying to write more of them) I gotta write some yahamayo crumbs, you know Larry dotes on his wife so much. That's his sick wife, his sick wife who is the master of the Kurain Channeling Technique and therefore requires everything she wants! He's quite popular in the village for being a rare good husband already but he's striving so hard to prove himself worthy of the name Larry Fey.

Maya is buried in blankets and tissue boxes and she thinks her hubby is just so precious.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the characterizations of everyone!!! We do have some Jokes too, maybe lightens the mood just a little bit haha :) I feel like that artificial sweetner is kinda necessary in a fic like this to take the edge off.

Apollo is going to make it :) I'm glad he found a support system that deeply cares about him. And I'm happy that that's what you got out of this :) Get dunked on Kris! :) That kind of parallels AA4 in a sense too because it's like, Apollo having only Kristoph in his life at the beginning, and then by the end of the game, he has so many friends and family around him that Kris isn't needed anymore? And Apollo just has no shame around dunking on him in 4-4, I love it. He's such a little shit.

You're like the only person who's commented on Phoenix and Klavier so far and I THANK YOU!!!! There are some crumbs here and there but nothing that's really focused on or centered on outside of Apollo POV, so I'm glad they came through as having like, an interesting dynamic. I want to know more about how Klavier came to be assigned the Misham case, because Phoenix was responsible for that entire trial in canon (maybe he asked Edgeworth to help out to make sure Klavier was assigned prosecutor to the case!) But there's definitely a sense in AA4 to me that EVERYONE else is in on some kind of a plot that Apollo's the outsider to. And I love the idea of Phoenix, Klavier and Trucy working together in the background, Phoenix never holding a grudge against Klavier but Klavier being unsure as to if he can trust him. In this AU, they're basically working together out of necessity because they both know Kristoph and they both know what will inevitably befall Apollo if they ignore the situation. But they have a weird/interesting dynamic that I'd like to explore sometime. We do have the flashback trial in AA4 which has a ton of Phoenix and Klavier interactions though so there is precedent for them to have some sort of weird little group think tank thing going on. There are so many weird little character quirks and dynamics and vibes that I wanted to explore in depth here and I feel like I took it up to eleven!

i’m a little curious about the last ask tbh. like i love narumitsu but i think saying there’s crumbs of any ship is kind of a big stretch? they’re all just. kinda standing there in a line. i promise this isn’t me trying to pull a “haha, take that other shippers!” i’m just curious about how people are getting that

Well, I know that in the last piece of Capcom Cafe artwork (the one with Klavier), Klapollo shippers got vibes because Apollo was fiercely blushing and standing next to Klavier at that.

For this one, Apollo’s standing next to Maya and looking flustered which I guess could give Mayapollo shippers vibes for that ship? I interpret it as more him just being new to whatever role he’s supposed to be fulfilling and just hoping that he’s posing correctly.

I’ve also seen Narumitsu shippers go nuts over Edgeworth wearing a defense attorney’s badge. It doesn’t necessarily imply Narumitsu, but I can see how it could give a shipper those vibes especially since he’s standing next to Phoenix.
