They mixed up Kurt’s and Rachel’s birth years. Hers should have 1993 so she would be 18 at graduation. If they wanted Kurt to be older than Finn, but in the same grade, Finn’s birthday should have been before August in 1994. Having Rachel’s be 12/94 made her only 14 when the show started, turning 15 in December - meaning way underage for Jesse who was a senior (17-18) to date.

Agree with all of this! They messed up all the birthdays. It wouldn’t have been out of character for Rachel to have skipped a grade, but there’s no way that Kurt’s a year and a half older than her.
