"how could hatsune know about that conversation between kiyotsugu and sadaharu? she must be lying" have we considered maybe sadaharu told her to keep her in line? he's supporting her, but its very clear he values no one finding out about her over not neglecting his daughter. hatsune opens up to kiyotsugu, who then in turn voices his opinion to sadaharu, who frames kiyotsugu for the fraud or whatever it was (i dont remember the details), and then he tells hatsune "this is because of what you've done."

of course, her adoration for sakiko is greater than her fear of her father, so she continues toeing the line until he literally sends her back home.

So I was clicking on random videos on YouTube again, as I do and you know I do, and I ended up on the channel of the Jazz Room Cortez venue in Mito, Japan, which has uploads of some performances there. Here's "JERK" being performed by four people who I'm not sure have an overall band name:

Well I’m not going to call you an idiot, but I am going to say you’re wrong.

Hatsune says that the opening was before debuting here. Note that the trainee idols are public figures, despite not officially starting their careers yet. A debut is when they officially start their careers, so it’s a big event, and worthy of keeping secret.

As for how Hatsune recognized Kiyotsugu, it seems like she was being metaphorical about voices— she later said she recognized him visually.

As a member of the Togawa group, Kiyotsugu was also a public figure. Since the Togawas are so famous, and Hatsune had personal investment both by her heritage and Saki’s heritage, I don’t think it’s a stretch to say she would have motivation to find information on her half-brother online.

Kiyotsugu’s present-day actions do connect with his behavior towards Sadaharu. In AveMu ep 1, he reacts violently to Sakiko bringing up his integrity— which makes sense, considering her integrity caused his father to throw him under the bus.

The only explanation for Hatsune knowing the about the Togawa men’s conversation would be either of them telling her. Considering Kiyotsugu is a drunk wreck who makes bad decisions, he’s very much a viable candidate, but by money is on Sadaharu. He tries to try to make up for his abandonment of Uika by favoring her financially, which is why nobody at the presumably Togawa-controlled Win-Wing Productions (Note the bird motif, Ave Mujica being prevented from reforming from the top, and the TGW group symbol showing up on Ave Mujica’s funding) questions Hatsune, and why she got that big opening pre-debut. RNG Nepo-Baby, basically.

The only thing that really strikes me as odd is the half-sister’s strong resemblances. Could be plot-convenience (CRYCHIC and Ave Mujica being “fate” is a reoccurring thread, especially in the Soyo manga), could be that that Hatsune deluded herself a sister that was less-forbidden to romance Sakiko, could be some other stuff— Uika is well-established as a lying liar who lies. Note that she would only be lying to herself in this scene— there’s no one else around. They wouldn’t have a character tell only lies for 20 minutes in Episode 11/13 though, so at least 2/3 of what she says has to be true.

trying to put this together more coherently i am very open to correction.

okay so uika/hatsune(from here i'll say hatsune)'s story as told in episode 11 has a lot of weirdness and inconsistencies in my perspective. i know i'm not the first person to talk about it but just putting down some of the things that feel off to me Personally.

i think the thing i've seen spoken about the most is the conversation between kiyotsugu and sadaharu that uika could not have been present for but is shown in detail. i'm not going to post images of this one because the main issue is the scene's existence at all, really. i'll add that i find kiyotsugu's post-kicked out of the household behaviour a bit out of step with this version of events(namely the way his self-loathing gets depicted and his attitude towards sakiko) but it's nothing particularly concrete. we do at least know that the 16.8 billion loss did really happen also.

the first thing that stuck out to me in the episode personally though is when hatsune says this

she immediately recognises kiyotsugu's voice in a crowd. this seems strange because hatsune has had very little contact with sakiko's family, and only played with sakiko at all for one day. we do see her hear his voice, for exactly one line that she overhears from outside their house. this theoretically could explain it but is, to me at least, a pretty big stretch. it was seemingly years later after all.

in general her conversation with kiyotsugu is a bit weird and off to me, but nothing stands out as blatantly false. the part that i do find strange here though is the timeline of the texts she recieved from sakiko, that have come up multiple times throughout ave mujica and mygo.

i haven't included the translation in the image but it's easy to find in the episode if you want to check what it says. she opens up saying to sakiko that it's been a while and her debut has been confirmed. to me this sounds like it hasn't actually happened yet, but this could be a lack of knowledge on idols on my part. regardless, she also says she's been told not to inform non-family members(...) yet, so it's presumably still early stages.

regardless, when she meets kiyotsugu, it's after she's done an opening performance. again i don't know if this is synonymous with 'debut' in the idol world(the word used in the japanese is, i believe, お披露目, which sounds and seems like the same thing to me, but i don't want to say definitively and make myself look like an idiot, so.) but even if it's not a debut, it certainly seems more public than 'only tell your family'. before this first performance is shown, she uses the same language in the japanese she uses in her text to sakiko to tell her her debut has been confirmed.

then, after an opening performance has taken place, she meets kiyotsugu. and then, she asks him to let her meet saki.

and then, the messages sent between them are shown on the screen

(i've cut out the subtitles for visibility's sake, but again it's probably easy to check. they are(mostly*) the same messages we have seen before.

but this seems strange to me. if we assume kiyotsugu did, in fact, get her in contact with sakiko(which is notably never stated and is in my opinion at best lightly implied), why did she tell her she was set to debut, rather than she just had? why would she tell her she can only tell family about it when she's already done a seemingly public performance? she could be lying to sakiko, but why would she? it's not explained or expanded upon, and the next scene is the kiyotsugu and sadaharu conversation.

she does seem to know where sakiko is after this happens as we know she attended crychic's performance and she knows in a fair amount of detail what sakiko was up to in the time after. again, it's not clear if kiyotsugu told her about this, or she found out some other way. but they don't meet up for around a year after this, and they don't seem to have been in contact during this time(when we see hatsune's messages in episode 4 of mygo, there's no new ones past that one conversation, and she's surprised when sakiko calls her.)

most things outside of that are less definitively wrong, but still seem strange to me. we obviously know that uika and hatsune looked identical despite the age gap and different fathers(we don't know how big the gap is but it naturally can't be less than nine or so months.) and this isn't a young sakiko mistaking people who looked similar, we've seen them both. they're identical

even height wise they're absurdly similar.

they could have used sakiko only meeting hatsune in the evening as a way to explain it, but they very explicitly played for the whole day in the middle of summer.

(another thing to note that probably means nothing but i still find interesting is that the part in mygo 8 where their memories conflict about who invited who to go bug hunting, is that hatsune remembers what uika said happened, but sakiko is the one who remembers what happened when it was hatsune there instead.) i'll also point out that it's baby uika who has a moon on her shirt, despite it being hatsune that sakiko describes as being like the moon.

there's more minor details, like no-one at hatsune's agency taking much notice of her claimed parentage, and uika being the only character in episode 11 to always be voiced and acted out by hatsune. the timeline between hatsune and sakiko's last meeting is unclear also, something i think is relevant due to the messages again*.

i don't have a clear theory here or anything, i'm just really curious on people's thoughts on it that aren't mostly just trying to make it Not Incest because that's not really what bothers me. at least not nearly as much as everything in this post (among other details).

anyway thank you if you read this fucking thing please call me a fucking idiot and tell me why i'm wrong because i really do want somebody to.

*okay i'm putting this as a footnote because it's likely for space but the messages we see on hatsune's phone and the ones we see projected behind her are slightly different. specifically, it cuts out the 'it's been a while' at the start of hatsune's opening message and changes sakiko's 'youre really going to debut' to just 'really'. i think the 'ひさしぶり', while obviously normal to say if you haven't spoken in a while, comes off as significantly less extreme than 'it's been literal years' when she jumps straight from it into 'i'm gonna debut'. and sakiko doesn't even say hello or seem surprised at 'uika' suddenly contacting her at all. which i think is notable because if it hasn't been years since they were in contact, when exactly did they start communicating again. i really just don't know, and all i can think of is 'hatsune stole uika's phone', but in that case, why would she be going by uika's name in order for sakiko to find her. i just find it strange.

A fate x nuramago blurb i word vomited abt a month ago and I never bothered to finish. more under the cut

Mysterious things have been occurring in Ukiyoe-town recently. Random accidents, explosions, and general destruction had suddenly popped up left and right, all without an apparent cause. For no rhyme and reason, Ukiyo-e had become a hotbed for mysterious and unexplainable incidents that left many innocents injured or dead. There's a tenseness in the air that's so palpable one would even struggle to cut through it with fear, and the Nura clan is left scrambling to investigate-- because Ukiyo-e is the Nura clan's main territory, and they have the responsibility to protect it and its civilians from harm... but how are they going to protect the town if they don't even know what's causing such death and destruction anyway?

Rikuo eyes Kuromaru casually and inconspicuously standing by the convenience store. He should be annoyed. He usually doesn't like having so many escorts, and he already knows from gut instinct alone that Kurotabo is somewhere to his right, hidden in plain sight as well, but the circumstances this time are dire. People have been dropping left and right, several buildings have gone down, and inexplicable accidents happen on the daily that it's become the norm now. They had no choice but to up their security tenfold as they investigate. He just has to convince himself that all of these security isn't just for him. They still ARE a yakuza clan after all. They have a duty to this town and its civilians, human or youkai alike.

"Kiyotsugu-kun, I don't think investigating the abandoned school again is a good idea..." Rikuo attempts, knowing full well it's a wasted effort with his friend here. "It's getting dangerous at night recently, I don't think we should be out after sundown."

"Nonsense! Don't you want to find out what's been causing all of this anyway, Nura-kun?" Kiyotsugu shoots back.

"I do, but I don't think we should be involving ourselves like this!" He's 90% sure this isn't anything yokai related anyway. He knows full well what's going on in their territory, but aside from these new humans moving in, no youkai has been doing anything suspicious enough to raise concern, let alone the alarm bells by attacking. Nobody wants to receive the Third Commander's ire after all.

They investigate the abandoned school anyway. Rikuo was outvoted, surprisingly enough. He thought Maki and the others would have had more sense in them to stop Kiyotsugu, but unfortunately he apparently, along with Kana, were the only ones concerned about their safety.

It just so happens that, on the way there, he notices a suspicious person entering the building before them. Making up an excuse to leave (leaving Tsurara with the group), he decides to tail the person.

It lead to a random classroom on the third floor. The stench of blood was so overwhelming that Rikuo could smell it immediately from halfway across the stairs. He can feel his heartbeat getting louder, gripping nenekirimaru hidden within his jacket so tight his hand turned white as he walks carefully towards the imposing classroom. Blood was leaking through the doorway, and Rikuo could only hold his breath, body wound tight as he prepares to attack on sight should the situation arises.

The sun starts setting. He enters the room, slamming the sliding door open.

Blood was splattered everywhere— in the floor, on the desks, the windows, even the blackboards. In the middle of the classroom stands a startled man, clearly not expecting a 12 year old to burst in. He immediately stops chanting, dropping an item to the floor in surprise. The mysterious person immediately moves to attack, grabbing a chair and flinging it to the enraged Rikuo who was able to dodge fluidly.

'This person... a human? He can't be a youkai, I can't feel any fear from this guy... and he's surprisingly weak.' the teen analyzes as he disarmed the older male, knocking him out cold with a swift smack on the back of the head with his saya. 'What the hell is he doing here?' Rikuo looks around the classroom, observing the gruesome mess in the dying sunlight filtering through the bloodstained window. He walks around. The energy in the room still hasn't dissipated, remaining charged as Rikuo walks through the mess of desks and chairs. There was a squelch, and Rikuo grimaces as he looks down on the floor. He's accidentally stepped in a pool of blood.

"Oh fuck,"

That was NOT just a pool of blood. His breath hitches as he makes a dash backward, the energy in the room swelling as it charges. Sparks start flying across the room, on the floor along where he just unknowingly stepped onto a summoning circle drawn ominously with blood.

Rikuo was unable to escape the room fast enough. The energy in the room exploded, rocking the building entirely as Rikuo got flung into the far wall of the room next door. Glasses askew and struggling to pull himself together, he blearily looks up. Debris was everywhere, the windows were broken and the desks are all either flung everywhere or in pieces. The smoke still hadn't dissipated yet, obscuring the young third heir's vision even more, not to mention the blood dripping from his forehead into his eyes. Rikuo coughs, ribs aching in protest as he shifts into a sitting position, leaning heavily on the wall.

Footsteps scrape by the floor from behind the obfuscating mist of dust. Distantly, Rikuo could see a vague silhouette of someone picking up what's undoubtedly nenekirimaru on the floor where he dropped it in the explosion and slowly started stalking towards him. The pain of being caught in an explosion in his human form, the possible concussion, and definite blood loss masked the burning sensation on his right hand. His breathing picked up as the figure slowly approached.

Shit, he's about to pass out. It's okay though, after that explosion Tsurara and the others will definitely come soon. He just needed to hold on.

The distinct sound of geta clad footsteps slow to a halt as the dust slowly starts to settle. Nenekirimaru, still sheathed, peeks out from the clouds of dust, pointing directly at his neck as a terrifyingly familiar voice calls out from within the darkness.

"I ask of thee..." The voice starts, filling Rikuo instantly with dread, the blood draining from his face as his breathing picks up.

Through the slowly dissipating mist stands Rihan, his cold, yellow eye looking down on him coldly, unrecognizing. "Are you my master?"

i think they should confirm the mustumi/sakiko cousins theory. and then they should reveal that nyamu's family were actually originally togawas who cut ties and changed their names like that one plot point on riverdale. and then they should reveal that umiri's mother is the sister of kiyotsugu.

the anime gutted Kiyotsugu man. Why did they get rid of his richboy shenanigans. The hot springs on Mt Nejireme (Gyuki clan arc) are part of his uncle's villa or something in the manga. He does some whole dramatic shit about student council president election (the assembly at which Inugami fight happens) & they cut that out too. Why 😭

Day and Night Rikuo is in my "Top Blorbos from different fandoms" because well.. for day Rikuo he tries his best to be a nice person which is something i respect :] And he's just so. scrunkly. I love it, i also love how polite he is compared to his night form and speaking of Night Rikuo, he's a chill and nonchalant and also sassy, there's just something intriguing about nonchalant, sassy men... Dax can't hear the sound of saltwater splashing against the shore anymore.

The room is a deathly kind of quiet, the silence only broken by short, harsh breathing.

In a lot of ways, Alma is still very childish.

Nestled on a cliff on the coast, there is a school.

"Right through here," Kiyotsugu says. "See? I told you it's this way!"

#3 is cheating a bit, since that fic doesn't have a definitive beginning or end yet, so I just started with a bit that's chronologically near the beginning.

This ask game has made me realize just how little actual content I've written compared to my story notes... Whoops
