"No one asks about your lore or why you're huge." Don't worry though, because I, the anonymous user, have asked (almost) everything there is about kitteh lore (also why are they huge like that compare to a normal cat?)

3 main reasons:

Cats are cats, local animals. Kittehs however are not cats, they're an alien race that just look catlike. And they're called "kittehs" because if they speak English, due to language differences (like how dialects are formed) their pronunciation and grammar are like how 2010s Lolcats Kittehz "speak"

Kittehs and their subspecies eat and require more food than cats do. Their race eventually settled on that size naturally through the course of evolution (and genetic modification). Also, since they're their own dominant race, they don't depend or have to share with a co-existing race like humans to supply them with their food

They also come in wildly different sizes canonically, but on a "meta" reasoning, it's so I can let them be any shape or size and it will still be "true" to them. Kittehs are friends of any size
