In this version, Miranda is a champion to Jin Li / the Golden Carp, and has an strained relationship with her family due to not being a follower of the Nagaji's creator. She wanders earth and sea in part because of this, and in part to prove her worth to her community, although she won't admit neither of these.

Alexis, meanwhile, comes from a different background; She was born and killed in slavery, only to be reborn via circumstances outside of her control. Although she remains confused and overwhelmed due to her past, she has lived and felt and experienced wonderful things since her return, and is slowly coming to terms with herself.

I honestly have zero idea about how they met in this au, but I do know that they travel together as adventurers. Miranda has been an adventurer for longer than Alexis has, and probably introduced her to this too. This is all I have for now lol, I'll probably make more lore

(2023) My friend is starting a new game and the only character I want to reintroduce to any world setting is my beloved Pathfinder Kitsune, Wasabi. Though she'll be less of a 'I'll steal whatever is in your pocket and eat it' fox and more of a 'I'll make you see untold horrors until you tell me what I want to know' fox.

Kabru!

Now, onto Kabru of Utaya. Kabru, as we have seen in numerous panels, is extremely calculating, but also somewhat naturally charismatic. That's the first hint we have to what class(es) and archetype(s) Kabru is. Now, for those of you that have read/watched Dungeon Meshi (which, given the untagged spoilers in my Marcille post, I hope you have) you know Kabru kind of… fails at fighting monsters, but is actually frighteningly competent at fighting humanoids.

Pathfinder 1e, but not 2e, has a very good way of actually putting this into mechanics: feinting. When feinting against a nonhumanoid you take a –4 penalty. Against a creature of animal Intelligence (1 or 2), you take a –8 penalty. Against a creature lacking an Intelligence score, it’s impossible. Feinting in combat does not provoke attacks of opportunity. Now, normally, Feinting is a standard action, but we can make it a move action -- meaning we can attack in the same turn -- if we take the Improved Feint feat. You can feint in 2e... but it doesn't come with the built-in "suck at attacking non-humanoid" caveat we want.

This narrows down the class very heavily for our local Kabru: it narrows it down to sneak attackers. But first, there's a panel from Kui-sensei's adventurer's bible that I must show you:

Remember how I said we might just… entirely ignore racial requirement for archetypes? Yeah, Kabru is the entire reason for that. Enter the Kitsune Trickster Archetype. It's an archetype of the rogue, a sneak attacker, that replaces your trapfinding. Now, you might ask: why would a rogue give up trapfinding?! Well… Kabru's party has that scab, Mickbell. What do we get in exchange for that trapfinding? We get Intelligence, in addition to Charisma to Bluff, Sense Motive, Perception, and Diplomacy. They also get the ability to use Charm Person, but we'll just ignore that.

What exactly does this mean, beyond PF1e Kabru being a furry fox guy? Well, it means their Bluff, the skill used for Feinting, can get absurdly high… but it still might fail against non-humanoids. IT means that Intelligence, i.e. how smart you are, is factored into their diplomacy and lies. Constant analysis, predictions, etc. as opposed to merely just charm. Kabru.

I had this picture stuck in my head this morning, so I drew a sketch to finish later. Here is Midori (about seven or eight years old) back home in Kasai in the Minkai Empire before she left with her family for Absalom. Some of her siblings were in the other room roughhousing, so she snuck off to pilfer some cookies in all the confusion.

Hiro is my gal and our GM let me flavor her in such a way that she is size small and outwardly appears as a Shoony (Shiba Inu). Her mom was a Kitsune and her dad was a shoony. She's some level of cousin to Noni and Ayame. Noni and Ayame are twins.
