What might the enemies be like in Optimystic? Would it resemble Castle Crashers in the way that you can choose between a variety of differently depressed wizards that have certain base stats that you could level up as you go, or would there be more of a small customization portion at the beginning of the game to make your wizard unique?

i imagine full character custimization.

and There’d be plenty of general “anxiety” and “depression” enemies that’d be represented by shadowy, inky blobs and pencil scratches and stuff, but there’d also be a bunch of enemies that represent specific issues that people deal with.

like, there could be a little bag monster fella who’s, like, in a backpack, and it’d reaches into the front pocket and throws little glass balls filled with purple smoke at you, and you’d be like “that seems kinda random” but then you’d read it’s monster manual entry and it’d be like:

“Remembro is the pinnacle of projection. It is a manifestation of the anxiety that comes with humiliation, and it weaponizes this by hurling condensed stress-based memories at it’s targets. Remember that time you pee’d your pants in front of everybody in third grade? Remembro is about to give you a reminder in the form of a glass-bauble-induced broken nose.”

And then there’d be, like, an invisible man type enemy, and you might think it’s just kinda generic at first, but it’s a representation of someone detaching themselves from their own identity and it’s named “Disassociaiden”, like, disassociation mixed with the name Aiden.
