The process a little more work because you aren’t always using what’s readily available but when it all comes together it’s yours and yours alone. It’s all in the details. My work as featured in @houseandhomemag Paper towel drawer holds paper towel at the ready and extra behind. Tea towels are within easy reach and left in an open cavity for air circulation. Details make the difference. (And so does good photography) in this months @houseandhomemag #kitchenofthemonth I designed the small cabinets flanking the range with inset doors and beautiful little latches from @topknobs. A little shelf under the cabinets has become a signature of mine. The perfect spot to keep things you use often or want to display in sight but off the work surface. A wooden plate and mortar and pestle from @conifershopns add warmth and a natural organic feel. I love designing spaces for families to create memories in and this picture says it all to me. My client wanted a kitchen that she could share with her grandchildren and spend time with them creating fun memories. A giant island was on the list of must haves. This gave me the opportunity to create a pull out baking table at just the right height for little people and for tasks that require a lower smoother surface than our other worktops. Disguised as a drawer front this table pulls out on industrial strength runners for stability. You can also sit 5 people around it for the “kids” table at holidays. I took this shot myself as @kimberphotog was taking the professional shots.
