in late 1974, neil had demanded yet another album from KISS since "hotter than hell" had stopped selling. he also wanted to produce the album himself, but would let them work at electric lady studios in new york city rather than repeat a similar situation of the displacement that they'd felt during the extended period recording in los angeles months earlier. having been on the road continuously since october there had simply not been the time or any inclination for the band to write much new material. the road was their home as they worked and attempted to break into popular consciousness. the first steps for the new album saw the band rehearsing material at SIR studios 'b' on jan. 22–23, during a gap in west coast touring activities. they entered studio 'a' at larrabee studios in los angeles for two days of sessions, jan. 24–25, with neil bogart producing. songs recorded included gene's "burning up with fever," likely written during the brief new year touring break; "mistake," a song written for but not used on the debut; paul's "anything for my baby;" and the freshly written stanley/simmons collaboration, "rock and roll all nite," written at the continental hyatt house. text : editors desk edward przydzial for the kiss museum news

On 15. November 1976, Kiss started the dress rehearsal for the “Rock and Roll Over” tour at Camp Curtis Guild, Reading, Massachusetts. They would rehearse for six days and film promo videos of “I Want You”, “Hard Luck Woman” and “Love ‘Em Leave ‘Em” which were videotaped specifically for the Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert and later broadcast on 28. May 1977.

November 19, 1975

Notes: - KISS's equipment blew out and the band reportedly only managed three songs following Styx's set at this concert. According to press reports, while Styx was performing their final song an electrical short caused $12,000 of damage to amps, speakers, and lighting. Requiring $35,000 worth of refunds! - The management of the Dome later blamed KISS for the short-circuit that ended the show, but also installed an upgraded electrical system to power concert backlines. However, the issues affecting the venue were more serious, since the event was dangerously over-sold for the venue. - The official capacity was 4,154 seats, though the facilities could only handle a maximum 2,451 person capacity at the time. The state fire marshal limited the venue's capacity to that latter figure following the show. Initially there were plans to reschedule the show, but the facilities issues caused the ultimate cancellation. - The whole situation, plus police seizures of "$1,300 of illegal drugs and paraphernalia from the fans" during the concert beg the question that the "short" might have been seen as a convenient way out of a potentially dangerous situation. No concerts were held at this venue until June 1976 when REO Speedwagon came to town with Head First. - Cadillac High School Coach Jim Neff attended this show.
