"Making the movie wasn't smooth, it wasn't easy and it wasn't particularly fun. But like almost everything else we had done, it was a success. KISS Meets The Phantom was eventually shown on NBC at Halloween. Because the television ratings were so strong, AVCO released it theatrically outside the United States. When we toured Canada, I saw it at a movie theater. When we toured Australia, I saw it at a drive-in. That was very bizarre, because I had grown up worshipping Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff and here we were running through a freak movie meeting Frankenstein and Dracula."

KISS Facts: Both shows were recorded for the Alive! album. During "Let Me Go, Rock N Roll" at one of the shows, Gene yelled "C'mon Quad City!". This ended up appearing on the record and is the only direct reference to a city on the entire album.
