Which Fintech Companies Are Most Successful in Rural India?
In the past few years, the field of fintech has risen as a revolutionary force in rural India, catering to the unique financial demands of farmers and rural communities. With an emphasis on increasing financial inclusion, some fintech startups have successfully built agricultural-specific products. This article examines some of the most successful fintech companies working in rural India, focusing on their contributions to agricultural loans in rural, crop insurance, and overall rural development.
1. Rugr: Empowering Farmers with Tailored Financial Solutions
Rugr stands out as a prominent player in the rural fintech landscape, providing essential agricultural loans in rural areas. By leveraging mobile banking in rural Bharat, Rugr simplifies the loan application process, enabling farmers to access funds directly from their smartphones. This convenience is crucial for farmers who often face challenges related to distance and accessibility to traditional banking services.
Rugr also provides crop insurance online in rural areas, allowing farmers to protect their investments from unforeseen risks like as natural disasters. This holistic strategy not only helps farmers manage their financial risks, but it also promotes sustainable farming practices. Rugr's loan and insurance services enable farmers to make informed decisions that boost production and economic stability.
2. Jai Kisan: Bridging the Credit Gap
Jai Kisan, a fintech firm based in Mumbai, was founded in 2017 with the goal of bringing financial inclusion to rural populations. The platform provides digital financial services especially to farmers and small enterprises involved in agriculture. Jai Kisan provides agricultural loans for income-generating activities, ensuring that farmers have access to the capital they require for growth.
Jai Kisan has established a solid ecosystem that helps over 150,000 rural clients through collaboration with over 700 organized and unorganized institutions. In May 2021, the firm raised $30 million in Series A funding, establishing its status as a major player in rural fintech.
3. Hesa: Transforming Rural Commerce
Hesa is a cutting-edge agri-fintech firm that uses both digital and physical ways to empower farmers. The website connects farmers to merchants and enterprises, increasing their earning potential by up to 20%. Hesa provides access to financial services, market linkages, and e-commerce solutions tailored for rural communities.
By leveraging a vast network of village-level entrepreneurs known as Hesaathis, Hesa facilitates transactions and helps farmers digitally trade their produce. This model not only improves financial access but also enhances market transparency and efficiency, driving economic growth in rural areas.
4. BankSathi: Facilitating Financial Literacy
BankSathi is a social commerce fintech platform that aims to increase financial literacy among rural populations. BankSathi enables people to make informed financial decisions by making banking services and educational resources easily accessible. Farmers can apply for Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) through the platform's app, which streamlines the loan application procedure.
BankSathi simplifies the KCC application process and provides support through business correspondents, allowing even non-technical users to access official banking services. This focus on education and accessibility is crucial for promoting financial inclusion in underserved areas.
5. Aggois: Affordable Financing for Farmers
Aggois is another agri-fintech startup dedicated to providing affordable financing solutions for farmers throughout India. The platform offers hassle-free loans with transparent terms designed specifically for agricultural needs. Aggois assures that even persons with no formal credit history can obtain funding by using technology to assess creditworthiness based on alternative data sources.
The company's commitment to transparency and affordability makes it an appealing choice for farmers looking for dependable financial support.
Conclusion
The achievement of these new fintech companies demonstrates how technology has the ability to alter rural finance in India. These companies are leading the path for greater financial inclusion and economic empowerment by tackling the unique difficulties that farmers experience, such as limited access to finance, a lack of financial awareness, and inadequate insurance alternatives.
Rugr stands out for its complete strategy for agricultural loans and crop insurance, while other firms like as Jai Kisan, Hesa, BankSathi, and Aggois make major contributions to closing the credit gap and increasing market access for rural areas. As these fintech solutions mature and spread, they will play an important role in promoting sustainable farming practices and driving growth in India's rural economy.
To summarize, the combination between technology and agriculture through these successful fintech startups is not only transforming access to financial services, but also increasing farmer resilience in rural India. With continued improvements in mobile banking and digital finance, the future appears bright for both the agricultural sector and rural populations in general.

PMKSY Form
- PM Kisan Tractor Yojana - PM Kisan Status 2021 online - PMAY New List 2021 - Soil Health card Registration

Yojana PM Krishi Sinchayee Scheme Under Central Government of India Beneficiaries Farmers Form PMKSY Registration Form 2021 in Hindi Official Portal Pmksy.gov.in Objective To provide better irrigation facilieis Applicable In all over state Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana इस के लिए सरकार ने एक आधिकारिक किसान वेवसाइट http://pmksy.gov.in की भी शुरुआत की है ।
- PM Kisan Tractor Yojana - PM Kisan Status 2021 online - PMAY New List 2021 - Soil Health card Registration

75 % Punjab Budget 2021-22 is the best statement in which every sector of life is well taken care of. It is a relief-oriented budget and the finance minister and his team deserve accolades. The credit of success goes to PM Imran Khan and I also pay tribute to the strong role played by the Pak army, NCOC, police, health minister and her team, chief secretary and others, he added.
While delivering his keynote address at the concluding meeting of the budget session at the Punjab assembly on Wednesday. The CM said when the PTI came into power in 2018, it inherited a throw forward of 1300 billion rupees and 4000 incomplete projects. Merge ‘Make in India’ with ‘Assemble in India’ to create jobs: Eco Survey
The economic survey 2019-20 urged the government to integrate ‘Make in India’ with ‘Assemble in India’ to create 4 crore jobs by 2025. The survey pointed out that the current international trade environment presents an opportunity for India to chart a China-like, labour intensive, export trajectory. This in turn will create jobs for the youth, the survey said.

By integrating ‘Assemble in India for the world’ into ‘Make in India’, India can raise its export market share to about 3.5% by 2025 and 6% by 2030. This will create 8 crore by 2030, the survey said.

Congress hopes Union Budget will provide relief to salaried class, invest in rural India
The Congress expressed hope that the Union Budget 2020 would provide relief to the salaried class through tax cuts and invest in rural India besides providing a healing touch to the common man and industry facing “hardship” since demonetisation.
Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said the last budget led to crashing consumption levels, soaring unemployment and falling GDP.
“Budget 2019= Consumption crashed, Unemployment soared, Farm distress surged, Incomes declined, Investments slumped, Public spending fell, GDP nose dived!,” Mr. Surjewala tweeted.
“Yet, Modiji gave Corporate Tax Cuts of ₹1,45,000 crore. Let Budget 2020 give tax cuts to Salaried Class and invest in Rural India,” he said.

Likewise, the broader NSE Nifty shed 73.70 points, or 0.61%, to finish at 11,962.10.

‘Bahi-khata’ makes a comback in this years’ budget presentation
Like last year, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman carried the 2020 Union Budget documents in a red bag, reminiscence of the traditional bahi-khata.

Earlier, Finance Ministers in different governments used to carry a briefcase to present budget, which was considered as a tradition of colonial past.
Ms. Sitharaman is presenting the full Budget for 2020-21. She is carrying the Budget documents in a red silk bag with national emblem.
During the Atal Behari Vajpayee government, the then Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha broke the one colonial tradition of budget presentation at 5 p.m. Since then all governments have been presenting the budget at 11 a.m.
Bahi-Khata is referred to books of account maintained by traditional Indian businessmen.
Better to focus on growth than on fiscal deficit in current situation: CEA
Ahead of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s second Budget, Chief Economic Adviser K.V. Subramanian suggested the government should focus on growth rather than being rigid on fiscal deficit in times of slowing economy.

The government can look at option of increasing market borrowing to fund higher expenditure by the government in 2020-21, he said adding that if need be, the government can resort to higher market borrowing this fiscal.
“So, we’ve delineated the overall stance that needs to be taken in times like this. India has been in such situations earlier as well. There’s always a delicate balance between spurring growth and keeping the fiscal (situation) in order,” Mr. Subramanian told PTI in an interaction.
“The view that we have articulated is that it’s better at this point to lean on growth. When you look at the debt-to-GDP ratio, the denominator is the GDP, and our analysis has also shown that when GDP growth increases, the debt-to-GDP ratio falls as well,” he said.
It is time to focus on growth and, therefore, cutting expenditure is not an option, probably because at a time like this, growth needs to be taken care of, he added.

Fiscal deficit hits 132% of Budget Estimate till December
The government’s fiscal deficit touched 132.4 per cent of the full-year target at December-end mainly due to slower pace of revenue collections, official data showed on Friday.
In actual terms, the fiscal deficit or gap between expenditure and revenue was Rs 9,31,725 crore, the data released by the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) showed.
The government aims to restrict the gap at 3.3 per cent of the GDP or Rs 7,03,760 crore in the year ending March 2020.

Only when these criteria are fulfilled, UIDAI updates the details on its system. The following conditions should be fulfilled before corrections are made in the Aadhaar details:
The form should be duly filled and should not be incomplete or contain any errors.
Adequate documents should be sent along with the form for verification. In absence of such documents, updation or correction request would not be processed.
All documents sent to UIDAI should be self-attested.
If the details mentioned in the form do not match with the document attached for verification, details of Aadhar will not be updated.
Aadhar card updation may also face a roadblock if you do not submit adequate documents along with the form.
In case the updation request of details in Aadhaar card is rejected due to some reason, the applicant can send a fresh request by making appropriate correction in the form and submitting appropriate self-attested documents.
