Pairing | Richie Gecko x reader

Summary | it is revealed why you are wishing to reign the throne, and be the queen of your kind. And Richie begins to endure an old, and terrifying habit, of seeing monsters all around him.

“You’re dying.” Santanico speculated, staring observantly up at you as you stood above her. She wasn’t sure whether to be relieved, given the situation, or worried, for it seemed to be prompting your power hungry actions.

The pair of you had never been close, considering the influence and change that she held over Richie’s head, but despite everything, the two of you had always stood on even ground. However, she could determine that the tides had changed, and that the woman that you had whence been was gone.

“Not dying.” It was a snap in her direction, a premise for forbidding her from knowing that she was practically correct. “Becoming. When Amaru was gone, the human side of me disappeared too, leaving only my body and a thirst to collapse all empires around me. The day I died, I found my purpose.”

“Bullshit.” Santanico stated, glaring up at you as you prowled frustratedly around her. “That is just what you told yourself so that it doesn’t pain your conscience. You are dying, and this time, you are not okay with that.”

“It has nothing to do with you, snake!” You hissed at her, your eyes piercing yellow as you stride towards her. “The only way you are involved, is for the throne.” Without ease, you gripped her neck, lifting her efficiently off from the ground. “And if you hadn’t noticed, your people aren’t protecting you; they’re watching me treat you like prey.”

“Y/n...” she choked, her nails scrambling against your hand for some mercy. In return to her vulnerability, you raised a printing brow at her attempts of bargaining, causing her expression to fall flat. “Take it...” to her dismay, she caved, and within an instant, she was dropped.

“I’m glad that we could clear that up, Kisa.” A wild smirk partook placement upon your face, and with little care, you left, the monsters and men trailing behind you, some of the weaker remaining behind, for they remained loyal to the fallen queen.

But she was no longer the prodigy of royalty, for she had given that title up. Santanico raised her hand to her neck, feeling the skin be charred and burned. There was something very off with you, and it had a tell, that was now all resembled upon her skin. You weren’t just a cullebra, there was something else going on.

Richie opened his eyes, seeing the terror taunting him once more. Nobody understood his fear of the distorted faces; they didn’t exist to them. But they waged a nightmare upon him, even to this day.

“Seth,” Kate called to his brother, noticing how he cowered so protectively in the corner of the motel room. They were all supposed to be leaving, and tracking down wherever the alive ally that they thought had been dead had disappeared off to.

The eldest of the two Geckos frowned, calling out the name of his brother with a worried frown. However, his verbal intrusion served no purpose, Richie was locked and focused on whatever was occupying and terrifying his ample mind.

The monsters had him trapped, but as he reeled his mind off for reasons for why they had returned, Richie could only conclude the cause to one thing. Your return.

It felt like a relief to know that you were alive, and not dust in his past. However, you were no longer an image of the woman that he loved, and it appeared that you didn’t have a return of that emotion either. And it killed him; he felt immensely heartbroken; almost forgotten.

“Richie.” He frowned, hearing your voice reach his ears in a sultry whisper. His face contorted into a frown, watching with wide eyes as you stepped through the entourage of monsters that was keeping him uncollected and half rabid. You looked beautiful; like an enchantress that was trying to seduce him.

Although, he knew that this image of you was a false wall. If you were actually speaking with him, you wouldn’t be here. “Y/n.” He spoke your name, it falling like a contradicting blessing and curse from his pale lips. But the look in your eyes told him otherwise.

“Don’t you wish that I was her?” Nonchalantly, you shook your head, disappointed by your naivety. “Well, I hate to dismiss all your crappy hopes and dreams, but I’m not. You can call me Lilith.”

Seth looked away from Richie, transfixing his gaze towards his phone for a moment, seeing an unknown number calling him. Cautiously, the human answered, bringing the phone to his ear, whilst Kate continued to helplessly view Richie in his personal panic.

“Hello?”

“Seth.” It was Santanico, and the woman had much to say, a lot of which none of them were sure to like.

1. Kastle/The West Wing Crossover Every time I watch TWW, I think about Karen and Donna Moss being friends, and once I thought of a fic where during the early seasons of TWW, the President and staff go to New York and Karen is moderating one of the series of town halls they're there for (specifically one where Josh Lyman is speaking). And of course that one, because reasons I had not yet come up with, gets attacked by The Hand, and Karen, Donna and Josh (who gets injured, because Josh ALWAYS gets injured) get rescued by Frank and it basically ends with the President demanding to meet Frank to thank him for saving Josh's life and everyone is like, "Mr. President do you not understand that Frank Castle is technically a MURDERER and the Secret Service will n e v e r let you in the same room with him and it's bad enough that you're currently on the same ISLAND?" So, yeah.

Here's something I wrote for it:

“Josh, did you hear?”

“I have impeccable hearing, Donna,” Josh says without looking up from the memo in his hand. “What is it that I am supposed to have heard?”

“Carol told me that she heard from Lindsay in credentialing that Karen Page has been assigned to cover the President’s town halls in New York for the New York Bulletin!”

He waits for her to keep going, but she doesn’t so, he looks up and sees her waiting expectantly, “And?”

“Karen Page? What It Means To Be A Hero Karen Page. She’s connected to half the vigilante-superheroes in Lower Manhattan. She was held hostage by ninjas. She interviewed Tony Stark about the Sokovia Accords. Last year, The Punisher himself may or may not have held her hostage after saving her from that terrorist Lewis Wilson.”

“And?”

“And, would it be inappropriate, as a member of the White House Staff, to ask her for her autograph?”

Kastle: The Big Indulgence

This is one of the first long fics I came up with for Kastle (and come hell or high water I WILL write it one day). Basically, it puts the NMCU actually IN the MCU. Post TPS1, Sarah tracks Karen down and they become friends, and at the same time, Frank becomes friends with Bucky Barnes (yes Emily, I know he's not your fav) by way of Curtis' group (Curt, of course, regrets ever letting them interact ever). Karen gets nominated for an award for her journalism work by the Maria Stark Foundation, where she meets Pepper, Natasha, and Darcy, and befriends them as well. Everything comes to a head and Karen and Frank reunite after the discovery that Sarah Lieberman is related to one of Bucky's surviving family members (the Liebermans are Jewish, Bucky's family is Jewish, it works!). Then, things related to Billy and Hydra happen, there's an incident where a few people disappear into an alternate universe for...an... amount of time, the Avengers meet the X-Men to help get them back, and Frank may or may not be a little psychic. Someone ends up coming from that alternate universe who doesn't belong here, but it's okay because she's [redacted] and also Leo's [redacted].

Leo-Centric, Kastle

Leo gets an internship as Darcy Lewis' assistant (well, technically she's working for Jane Foster, but it's basically working for Darcy), where she meets Karen, matchmakes her with Frank, and also gets a girlfriend. I think the summary says it best:

Summer 2021.

In which Leo Lieberman gets the internship of a lifetime—working for Jane!Freaking!Foster’s soon-to-be former personal assistant, Darcy Lewis—both comes out of the closet AND gets the girl, and helps her long-lost murder-uncle finally reconcile with the ace reporter of his dreams.

If Frank was actually bulletproof, it would totally be just like Superman and Lois Lane.

5 Times Seth Tells Kate He Loves Her

A five-times fic where Seth is just ass over tea kettle in love with Kate, and makes sure she knows it and doesn't care what other people (read: Richie and Scott) think about it. The first one takes place the night they get back from Matanzas, and I just love the little bit I've written so far. I know 2 that I'm going to write so far, so...3 to go.

Kate Meets Vanessa Post S3

So I started writing this around Valentine's Day this year, and I might keep it as a Valentine's Day fic no matter what, but basically, in a grand universal coincidence, Vanessa strolls into Jed's just because she's stopping for lunch on her way to...somewhere. She meets Kate, who is covering the bar for Kalinda and Greer (a culebra OC that I will one day actually formally introduce in my fics, I promise), who are downstairs "checking on inventory" read: screwing in a maintenance closet because it's Valentine's Day, and then Seth comes out and there's a little, very awkward reunion, and basically Vanessa is the MOST amused, Seth is the MOST uncomfortable and Kate's just like...okay? And? Also, Seth is still bitter about Vanessa taking the tire iron to his car back in early S1.

The SK/Detroit 187 Fusion

Seth is a detective in Houston PD, who comes into the office one day to discover they...hired an intern? Said intern is Kate Fuller, a grad student at the University of Houston, who is working on her master's thesis by studying something related to crime (duh). Seth thinks she's a Disney princess in human form and they're very antagonistic with one another, but also he likes her way more than he thinks he should (but feels a LOT better about it when he finds out she's 23, not like...barely legal to drink or anything. Angst happens when a gang (Malvado's, but Carlos' branch of it) attacks Kate's family and kills her parents, and Seth takes her to Eddie and Richie for protection while he and his partner, Ximena, and the rest of the department solve the case and put Carlos' crew away.

SK Post 2x02 AU

After Kate and Seth part ways in 2x02, Kate goes back to Bethel, but Scott isn't there (so Jessica lives). She ends up in Houston for two years, working at a gym and keeping her to the ground looking for word about her brother, until one night, she's attacked by a bunch of Culebras, and is saved by Seth, Richie, and Kisa. She finds out that Carlos and Malvado are after her because she's the key to the way to the Blood Well, and Carlos and Malvado's henchwoman, the one and only Sonja, draws them all back to Bethel by putting Jessica in danger, and...it's all going to come to a head in some way that involves them saving Jessica from Sonja and killing Malvado and stopping the events of S3 from ever having to happen.

SK Season 1 AU

I don't know if i'm ever going to go anywhere with this, but I had this thought of...what is Carlos as Kyle wasn't a dick to Kate, and he took her to Mexico instead of Kate going back with Jacob and Scott. She ends up at the Twister before Seth and Richie do, and spends time with Kisa before she goes out to perform, and somehow it ends up with Kate going through the labyrinth with the brothers? I don't know. Something like that.

The FDTD/The Punisher Crossover That Starts Off In New York

So this is one of 2 crossovers I have for SK-meets-Kastle, but I love it. This is post 2x02, and Kate ends up in New York after not being able to find Scott back in Bethel. She ends up going to work as NM&P's assistant, and befriends Karen. To get to know one another better, Karen takes Kate to Josie's, where Kate discovers that Josie is a culebra, and Josie promises to keep Kate's secret. One day, this...guy shows up at the office, asking to talk to Karen, and Karen kicks Kate out of the office while they talk, and when she comes back, the guy is gone and Karen doesn't want to talk about it. (It's Frank, of course it's Frank). Also featuring one day where Frank is on the roof, Matt gets wind of it and goes up there to confront him about seeing Karen again and comes back with a black eye, and Kate is V confused whereas Karen is 10000000% pissed off at them both. Not long after, Kate and Karen are out one night, and they're attacked by a bunch of culebras. Frank helps intervene while Kate really is the one to save the day...and then she has to explain culebras to them. Of course, Karen saw aliens fall out of a portal above Stark Tower, so...snake vampires? Whatever. Kate calls Freddie to figure out why she was attacked and it turns out Carlos and Malvado are after her (and, later found out Karen too). Kate, Karen and Frank end up in Texas and things all come to a head at the blood well, as it does, and while Carlos shoots Kate in front of Seth, Richie, and Scott (which, BAD IDEA), Kate falls into the blood well, and when she's pulled out, she's healed. But...she also has something inside her that wants to destroy the world, and everyone has to race against time to figure out how to get Amaru out of Kate before she takes over completely and destroys them all. They figure out a way, but it has an...interesting side effect for Kate and Seth. Also, this is the one where Maggie takes one look at Freddie and Ximena and shrugs and says, "You know what? Porque no los dos?"

So yeah, there you go!

(Also, I thought about also including the Amaru isn't evil, she's just cranky and wants to go home, S3 AU, but we just talked about it yesterday, so I figured it doesn't count hahaaha.)

Favourite episodes: 2.01 Opening Night, 2.08 The Last Temptation of Richard Gecko,  1.07 Pandemonium (though really everything from 1.07 to 1.10 is so good), 3.02 La Reina Favourite season/book/movie: season two Favourite quotes: i have it tattooed, so, "sometimes eternity isn't forever" Best musical moment: 1.07 during Kisa's pole dancing scene Moment that made you fangirl/boy the hardest: when Richie and Kisa saw each other again on 3.02 (I think I was screaming through this whole episode) When it really disappointed you: season three. most of it doesn't even feel like the same show, but especially that flash forward (i did not need that image in my head) Saddest moment: oh, my, i can't even?? this show has so many sad moments, but maybe Kisa's flashbacks in 2.04 Most well done character death: uncle eddie's, for the emotional impact, i guess. Favourite guest star: there are so many good ones, but Jeff Fahey, because i absolutely love uncle Eddie and he was on justified too Favourite cast member: Eiza, duh. No one loved the show as much as her. Character you wish was still alive: XIMENA. That was some bullshit death for man pain and I hated. One thing you hope really happens: well, the show is over, soo...nothing to wish for. Most shocking twist: maybe Carlos coming back in s03? how many times can a guy die and come back? When did you start watching/reading?: 2016, I think? it was before s03 aired but after s02. Best animal/creature: kisa's snakes, i guess. Favourite location: the titty twister Trope you wish they would stop using: killing latina women (i was fine with it during s01/02, but in s03 it just became so obvious and without any reason, ugh) One thing this show/book/film does better than others: really delving into mexican/latin america culture, i loved how it's a supernatural show that doesn't make the folklore european, and it works so well. Funniest moments: "richard, we should be sleeping. like that guy in that movie you made me watch" lol and when freddie wants to get something from the bar and seth says it's free but richie says it's two fifty or something? lol i love my man. Favourite transportation: Seth's car at the end of 1.10 Most beautiful scene (scenery/shot wise): i think this show has so many beautiful shots! it's impossible to choose just one. Unanswered question/continuity issue/plot error that bugs you: how did seth, richie and kate end up together in the flash forward? why is richie able to walk in daylight without any problem? WHAT IS THAT FLASH FORWARD? my nightmare, i guess. Best promo: hmm, i don't remember any special one. At what point did you fall in love with this show/book: probably during Kisa's dance scene in 1.07.

The story of how a witch and a theif meet when their paths converge to get Amaru out of Kate’s body.

Requested by @ateliefloresdaprimavera “Thank you babycakes😚 it's a Richie imagine where YN is a witch and she's contacted to help the brothers and Kate. He's intrigued by her and she doesn't think much of him first, but in time they fall in love. What do you think?

A/N: I couldn’t really show that they fall in love because it would have been too long for a one shot and too short for a 2 parter, sorry!

Warning: Cursing, slight torture.

"Shit," Seth cursed as his eyes locked with Kates. He couldn't believe it, she was alive, yet, she seemed different like she had become a whole new person since her 'death'.

After some intensive fighting with a man that was twice Seth's size, they finally stepped out of the rink, the bearded man scanning the crowd in search of the redhead that he had grown attached to, but to no avail. He walked up to Kisa, eyeing his brother quickly before sitting down on the spare stool. Richie threw him a small piece of cloth in order to clean up his bloodied nose. He nodded to his younger brother, pampering his sore nose, deep in his thoughts. He had to tell his brother later, but for right now, he needed to have his mind set.

"That wasn't Kate," He mumbled. Shit! He needed to find a solution to his problem and he needed one soon, who knows what that demon inside of her could do.

"I knew it," Richie mumbled in irritation. This was one of the moments that pissed him off the most, the moment where Seth was too stubborn to listen to his brother and had to investigate himself before he could remotely agree. He despised it when he did that, never treated him like an equal but as a younger brother.

"I think I know someone who can help," Seth grumbled. "It might take time, but I think someone can help with Kat's problem."

"Who can help? Tanner?"

"No, not that creep, Kate mentioned some guy that had connections with different creatures back when I tried to get the passports," He informed, shutting his eyes quickly to try to recollect as much information as possible on the kid she had seen.

"What is your problem?" The kid asked, crossing his arms over his chest. He didn't really appreciate the attitude the tattoed man was exhibiting, but he was willing to give them a chance, Kate did.

"Kate, we think she's been possessed, and I heard from her that you knew people," Seth explained vaguely.

"Kate?" He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I'll see what I can do, give me your number and once I find someone that can help I'll send you the information," He clarified. Seth gazed back to his brother for a split second before nodding to the boy.

"Thank you," He smiled lightly.

"How long is that kid going to be?" Richie mumbled.

"I know as much as you do Rich," Seth murmured.

"This is taking way too fucking long." He cursed.

"Took the words right out of my mouth brother," Seth chuckled. His eyes looked at his phone as it vibrated on his lap. He picked it up, unlocking it as the notification glowed on the screen.

"(Y/N) (L/N), already on to you, here's her number," The single message read.

"Thank god," Seth sighed as he copied the number and added it to his contacts.

"Is it him?" Richie asked, leaning into the phone.

"Yes, we have her number, she's on our way to us," Seth filled in, smirking.

"The famous Gecko brothers," I chuckled, extending my hand to shake his.

"(Y/N)," Seth welcomed, gladly taking her hand.

"You're hot," He chuckled.

"And someone can't keep it inside his pants," I retorted, turning towards the other brother.

"Richard right?" I asked him, repeating my action.

"Yes, but I prefer Richie," He smiled, shaking my hand.

"My friend didn't really fill me in on the situation, what seems to be the problem?" I asked, sitting down in front of them.

"Well, our friend is possessed and we can't do anything."

"You're human right?" I pointed to Seth, as he nodded in response, I turned to Richie.

"And you're a Culebra?"  

"Yes, what are you again?" he asked.

"A witch, it's in the family," I smiled, "anyway, let's get started, I'll need something that belongs to her and a couple of candles," I informed. Richie nodded, leaving the room to get the supplies.

"What for?" Seth asked.

"I need to locate her before I can perform any type of exorcism." I explained, thanking Richie as he handed me a necklace that must have belonged to 'Kate'. I placed it in the middle of the room and placed the candles opposite each other, the necklace in the middle.

"Pass me the map," I ordered, Seth threw the map at me and laid it on the table. I took one of the knives I always kept on me in case I needed to defend myself and cut my palm. I let the blood drip on the map and closed my eyes after catching a glimpse of the brother's curious gazes.

I started my spell.

"She's a witch huh?" The blond man nodded to me.

"I am yes," I faked a smile to him before looking at the chained up redhead that was glaring daggers at me.

"Don't think I wouldn't exorcise you under any circumstances Amaru," I threatened as she sent me a wicked smile.

"You sure about this?" Seth whispered to me, his back facing the demon so that she could not hear what we were discussing.

"Of course, I'm powerful enough to take this bitch out of her," I defended, feeling offended at his underestimation.

"Okayyyy, sorry," he sassed, raising his hands up in defence.

"Now leave me alone, all of you, especially you, you creepy child predator." I pointed to 'Tanner'.

"I'm not a child predator," He furrowed his eyes in confusion.

"Well, you sure as hell look like one," I scoffed. I put my hands on my side, closing my eyes and looking up at the sky.

I clenched my fists hard as I could, feeling them whiten as I did so. Soon enough, I heard Amaru scream in pain as I focused my energy on her. It took me a solid 15 minutes to get her out of the girl's body, but it was worth it.

From the many emotions, I felt surging within her and I performed the exorcism, I learned that she was powerful in hell, but since she wasn't in her usual environment, she was weaker, giving me an additional advantage to force her back where she came from.

"Kate," Seth called out as a thump could be heard, it might have been her body hitting the ground. I opened my eyes, shaking my head at the slight dizziness I experienced.

"You okay?" Richie asked from beside me. I looked over at him.

"Yeah," I breathed out, "It's a bit nauseating using magic for too long without any breaks." I clarified, giving him a small smile.

I found myself staring a little too long in his eyes but I couldn't look away. he had the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen. But I don't notice many details in the first place unless I want to.

He saw me stare at him and as a smirk appeared on his face.

My head snapped back to Seth and Kate. He was holding her waist, keeping her now weak form from collapsing on the floor.

"Thank you, really, thank you so much," The redhead smiled gratefully. I returned the smile, nodding in her direction and moving out of her way so she could rest in the car.

"Do you want to go get a drink or something." Richie blurted out after clearing his throat. I smiled at him and nodded, licking my dry lips.

"Do you want a drink with me too, sweetheart?" Tanner chuckled. I turned to him in disgust.

"Fuck off!"

Favorite moment in each season of fdtd:

Season 1: WHEN SETH SITS ON KATE IN THE RV BATHROOM (runner up, "want some company"? and also every single moment where Seth pushed Kate behind him when they were in the labyrinth.)

Season 2: I'm caught between Kate pulling a stake on Rafa and telling him what's what, every moment between Seth and Kate in 2x01 and 2x02, Kate pulling a gun on Freddie, and the look Kate shares with Scott when Carlos tells Malvado where his last fuck has gone.

Season 3: EVERY SINGLE FUCKING SETHKATE MOMENT IN 3X10 DUH! But also, the glorious Seth just wants to hold Kate's hand moment in 3x04, and also when Seth lets Kisa feed from him in the prison, because it's such a great turning point in their relationship and I love it so much.

Favorite Carlos line:

Ugh there are SO many, but I think every snide comment he makes to Seth in 1x01 is just gold. And also when he tells Malvado where his last fuck has gone in 2x10.

Favorite scene in everywhere at the end of time:

When Seth and Kate are cuddling after Seth rescues Kate and they finally destroy Amaru's amulet. The conversation about having to get a big enough bed to fit all Kate's culebras for their puppy piles was just THE BEST.

Favorite scene in what does it matter how my heart breaks:

10000% the moment where Kate, innocent and devious Kate, demands that Richie build her a pool at Jed's.

Favorite scene in bewildered in other eyes:

OH MY GOD SO MANY. But like, I am just OBSESSED with Seth's perspective of Kate's nightmare and the night they FINALLY make a move and kiss for the first time. Like, the cuddling and quiet conversation and just all of it is SO FUCKING PERFECT.

are you still accepting writing prompts (i am late to the game) but i have this thought from watching the ep where kisa couldn't sense richard and that tear!!! anyways that after, when they go their separate ways at the end (NO!) she tries to connect with him just to make sure she still can, just so she knows they still have their connection.

Sooooo, like four (five?) months later, I have a fic for this. It’s not exactly what you asked for, but I think it fills in the spirit of the prompt?? lol. In any way, please consider this one as written for you!

She had dreamtabout him too. Sometimes she had even wondered if she didn’t will him intoreality by the sheer force of her longing.

“You guys have something, right?” Something? Something didn’t evenbegin to cover it. “Picking up anysignals?”

She can feelher non-existent heart constraining painfully in her chest and Seth’s wordsecho through her head in the worst kind of loop. We do have something. We did. We did. She orders herself to remain calm,even if the fact she can’t sense him at all is freaking her out. Amaru musthave found a way to break their connection because he couldn’t just be gone, could he? But there’s an emptinessinside her that tells her he is, he must be, otherwise she would still befeeling him.

After all, hehad always been there, in the back of her mind – centuries before they wouldever meet, before he was even born.

It’d allstarted when Carlos told her that there was a way for her to escape from thetemple – he had learned that from the other Lords’ emissaries. They would justneed to find the one who would face the trials of the labyrinth and emergevictorious, carrying with him her essence. And he would come, Carlos knew,because there was an ancient prophecy. Malvado didn’t want them to find out,but it had all been written down long ago. One day she would be free.

She didn’tbelieve Carlos. She laughed and spit on his face once he finished his littletale. After all, Carlos would say whatever he thought she wanted to hear toplease her; he wasn’t trustworthy.

But that samenight, she saw him, the one who would set her free – centuries forward. A youngman, with glasses, in an all-black outfit, with his ears glued to a metal box. “You just need to hear for what’s there. Andfor what isn’t.” He murmured – and even though it was in a language she hadnot yet mastered, she could understand him perfectly. He aptly moved hisfingers through the combination disc, pausing every once in a while, andfinally opening the safe to show a bunch of golden bars. He laughed and someoneelse joined, saying, “you’re amotherfucking genius, you know that?” Before she could determine to whomthe second voice belonged to, she woke up.

She had thoughtthe whole thing had been a figment of her imagination, but the visionscontinued, coming whenever she least expected them.

They were notalways linear and the next time she saw Richie in her mind he was nothing but ayoung boy playing with his dog in the backyard. Then all grown up putting a gunon some guy’s face, followed by a teenager fumbling through his first time. Anda child once more, putting his house and father on fire (and she had never beenprouder).

The more shesaw, the more the fell in love with a man who didn’t yet exist, and the easierit became to believe in the prophecy and convince Carlos to help her. She woulddo anything to be free.

(She would doanything to meet him.)

Time passedslowly, but it finally came the moment when she was able to present herself tohim in the flesh and interact. Seduce him, lead him to the Titty Twister and dowhatever it took to prove to him they were meant to be together, as she hadbeen certain of.

Once they’dgotten together, it became easier to get into his mind and talk to him. Theywould use it on their jobs and it was proven useful on more than one occasion.But of course, it didn’t help against Malvado. That time, when she finally sawRichard on her mind, he had already made his (wrong, so wrong) choice. Shenever asked him if he had sensed her back then. It hurt too much to even talkabout it.

And shedidn’t try to contact him again, preferring to have a clean and total break.But it didn’t mean their connection wasn’t present, on the contrary, she couldstill sense him on the back of her mind. Strangely, it became a source ofcomfort and sometimes she wondered if it was the same for him too – if therewas a small part of her on the back of his mind as well. If it was there, didit give him comfort too? Did it also petrify him when he couldn’t reach her?

(did he even try to reach her?)

He comes backfrom hell all in one-piece and in much better shape than she is (Xibalban knifeto her back and all) and she watches relieved from the sidelines as Sethtouches him, reassuring himself that his brother really was back.

Her handitches to stroke his cheek and be able to verify by herself that he is alright,like Seth can. She doesn’t. Instead, Kisa bawls her right hand into a fist and pretendsshe isn’t affected by the thought of him dead, that it didn’t literally bringher to tears moments ago. And pretends it doesn’t affect her that, even thoughhe is back, she still can’t sense him. How is that even possible?

She shouldtalk to him, she knows.

How did you come back?

I’m glad you’re not dead.

It scared me.

seth x kisa or seth x carlos

this is… surprisingly hard because i like them for completely different reasons???

seth/carlos is a fucked up, funhouse mirror of a ship that i’m still not sure how to articulate and it’s like a hatesex ship that reaches a lot deeper below the surface (and i wish there was more interactions between them). carlos betrayed and ruined seth’s life, but he also weirdly wants to be his buddy and thinks they have common ground, while i think seth is a little repulsed by him and doesn’t trust him at all, but trusts his competency? on some level, they speak the same language, even though seth would say they don’t. 

BUT

i think seth/kisa takes this one because of how well-developed it is. in a ways, these two ships are similar on a surface level because both kisa and carlos tell seth they’re the same, and seth sees them as the people who ruined his life, but with seth/kisa it comes from a more genuine place of trying to relate. the evolution of seth and kisa’s dynamic is honestly one of the better pieces of character development this show ever gave us. their give and take dynamic that kept building on itself was fascinating to watch. i don’t necessarily see this as a romantic or sexual ship as much as i see it as two people thrown together that ultimately recognize something similar in one another and build a sort of comradery from a place that was… at the start, quite negative and move to this place where seth is there having her back when she kills her abuser and kisa is here to prevent seth from essentially committing suicide via amaru. i think it’s functionally a deep relationship, but it’s also so new and cautious, like. it’s not like TOP TIER KISA SHIP, but it’s really important to me as a dynamic. 

so yeah, it wins.
