Lets talk about headcanons yall cus im at school and bored
Warning : Taranza x Susie content
First of all, Taranza x Magolor is valid af. I know this. I've read hundreds of taranza x magolor fics and holy hell they are a good pairing, just not my headcanon.
Taranza x Susie is fuckin great. Both of em went through the loss of a loved one, and i love my hurt/comfort ships. THEY BOTH FIT AS WELL. Taranza deals with his loss directly like mourning and everything. Susie tries to not think about it but just... breaks down sometimes. They have similar struggles, i imagine but different ways to cope.
They both meet up. Maybe Susie gets lonely or something since she doesnt form that much close bonds except with her late dad. She calls Taranza in the middle of the night or something, when she feels the most unstable. Taranza is in his room, just unable to sleep cus sectonia is always on his mind. He cant stop thinking that he failed her. Susie's call interrupts his midnight thoughts.
Taranza funnily remarks how both of them are still awake, he likes to make jokes; it helps him cope. Susie is just trying to steer the convo instead of being direct cus she's still trying to keep up appearances. SUSIE DOESNT EVEN NEED TO STEER IT CUS TARANZA JUST FUCKIN BRINGS UP SECTONIA.
Taranza asks Susie if she's felt like she somehow failed someone. He asks Susie if she wants to hear him vent for a bit, to which she agrees; anything to distract her from her own thoughts. Taranza then starts to talk about the dimensional mirror, sectonia and like just overall his feelings over the thing. He wants to move on but is still dragged by the past. He cant help but feel guilty over the whole ordeal.
Susie is just... speechless. She didn't know anything about Taranza except that he just had something gnawing him from the inside. Taranza info dumping her just sparked something between them, like a hidden bond. She feels like she could relate to him now. This is the first time she talked about something personal with someone else, Susie was known for being cold and all business after all. She now could establish an actual close friendship(?) with Taranza.
Of course, Susie tries to comfort Taranza. Saying all these advice like "She would be happy for you, no matter what." or something along those lines. Then she realizes that she couldn't even bring herself to think like that.
That realization broke her. Thoughts about her dad flooded through, she remembered what she was trying to forget before talking to Taranza. Burdened, she just... let it out. Tears, text messages, it didn't matter; as long as it could get the pain over quicker.
Susie typed to Taranza, telling about her story with kirby and her dad. It only felt fair to respond to his feelings. He was honestly shocked, the cold and cool Susie she knew was just a normal ordinary person; he felt comfortable knowing that.
It clicked then, sure they lived in way different worlds. Technology and magic. Both of them felt relieved knowing that, even if they were from different worlds, they were facing similar struggles. They got to know each other better just texting and talking about their struggles and how they cope.
Taranza took on a new hobby, gardening. He recently assembled a garden near his house in Dreamland (he got exiled from floralia and kirby was nice enough to let him live near the dreamstalk). He told Susie about how he enjoyed the beauty in plants and how he's trying to enjoy the simple things.
Susie felt inspired, keeping all of that junk inside felt painful and uncomfortable. She felt relieved now knowing that she could talk with someone on a personal level. Susie talked about how she hasn't really made any bonds as of late. She keeps her distance and it worries people, including herself. Taranza suggested taking small steps and telling her that she did a good thing by... well talking to him.
They exchanged more. Susie felt motivated to try raising a plant since Taranza suggested that. She wanted to pick up on a new hobby, maybe cooking? When asked why, Susie jokes that she wanted to make all the ice cream she wanted to eat; to which Taranza laughed along.
Susie and Taranza kept talking to each other about themselves, maybe include snarky comments towards Magolor or Marx or anything of the sort. They talked about their favorite color, hobby and generally how things are doing.
Dawn breaks, which surprises both of them. Today was a weekend, so Susie didn't feel panicked. Although she did tell Taranza that she was impressed, talking all the way till dawn.
Susie felt content, talking to someone till dawn was... fun? She found warmth in Taranza's presence.
Just before logging off, Susie asks Taranza if he was ok; after all that. He took a while to construct a reply but there was a simple reply, "no,"
Taranza felt that he wasn't ok, he knew that he was depressed; it was obvious at this point. Nonetheless, he had hope. Hope that he could get better. Hope that he would get over things and start to smile at life again..... And send.
A notification blinks, reading:
"but i'll get there, im trying at least."
Susie could only smile at that reply. She hoped that she too could get over her inner demons. Maybe she could walk that path with Taranza? Who knows?
"Can i come with?"
"sure, i've got tea and biscuits ::D"
Eyes tired, they both said their goodbyes. It was getting late after all, or was it getting early? Point is they've been awake for way too long.
Taranza closed his phone just to see his face staring at him, smiling. Realizing this, he did a bigger smile.
Maybe the path wasn't that far after all.
