"I think this is the one," the dark-haired Roegadyn woman spoke as she pulled the concoction from her satchel, "Are you ready?"

"It better not give me another tummy ache, kupo."

"I tried to alter the regents to avoid that, but there's only so many changes I can make before it renders the formula ineffective, Kupa."

With an echoing pop, the stopper of the bottle was pulled loose and Rhotrael held the open flask out to Kupa.

The fluffy moogle's paws reached out- though not very far, given the short length of their arms- and accepted the potion flask. For a moment, their dark purple-grey wings flapped harder, having to adjust to the weight they were holding. A strong, sour scent wafted from the open flask.

Oh dear, this is going to taste awful. Kupa tried to put on a brave face despite their crinkled nose.

"Well, here we go!" Kupa said with an encouraging moogle chirrup.

Kupa took a steadying breath and drank deep from the flask. The concoction was sour- eye-wateringly so, and her reflex was to reject it rather than imbibe further.

But they had so many failed attempts behind them. What if this is the one that worked?

It took all the moogle’s willpower to continue drinking; the sourness left a hot, burning sensation in their mouth and throat. One gulp, two- the third and final left a horrid aftertaste that reminded Kupa of biting into a lemon.

Done. Now we wait.

Rhotrael collected the now-empty flask and wrinkled her own nose as she caught a whiff of the scent; for a fleeting moment she was glad that it was Kupa drinking it and not her. A small, stifled noise from the moogle caught her attention and she looked up to see Kupa wobbling in mid-air.

"How are you feeling, Kupa?"

"T-tingly," Kupa responded with a stutter. The little digits on their paws wiggled, and they let out a little squeak as their form wavered and shifted.

There was a strange wobbling in the air- like looking through a heat-haze, only harder to see through- and the small furry form was no more; a Viera woman now stood in the place of the moogle.

The sight of her took a moment to sink in for Rhotrael, until the pink-haired Viera looked herself over and let out a jarringly moogle-like noise.

“Did- did it work?”

Elation at their success quickly gave way to discomfort. Kupa’s new form was naked, her bare skin exposed to the slight chill of the wind- Rhotrael hastily threw a thick woolen shawl at them.

“It was a great success, Kupa- let’s get back to Gridania, I need to check you over to ensure there are no abnormalities.”

Kupa wrapped the shawl over her shoulders and held it close; without their fur, the wind had more of a bite to it. They took an unsteady step forward, and a firm hand pressed against their back- guiding them forward into the next adventure.

The Kipi species is an aquatic species that breaths air. They are well known for their beautiful tails inspired by the Betta and Gupy fish. The tail length can variate.

They are smaller than the Marini and often mistaken as a fish and caught in bigger fish nets. Kipi's dont use any spoken language instead they communicate in click and squeek sounds. Kipis are often seen as cute pets or accessories due to their beatiful tails and held in captivity, which they often dont enjoy.

Kipi's dont have any fur instead its a soft, smooth skin which makes them very fast underwater.

💚 Reb and Beth's friendship

For so {relatively} long, Beth wants to make a good impression. There's so many layers to unpack; yes, I like spending time with your dad, no I really don't need a dang thing from him outside of his company. No I'm not one of those people who are trophy-hunting for experience, no I don't plan on trying to insert myself in your relationship with him, and I certainly don't expect either of us to treat one another as step-anything.

But for all the imagined scenarios and the anxiety they manifested, Beth maybe didn't need to worry so hard. If anything, the two women have a lot in common; Beth has a practical understanding of law because her hanai-sister is a lawyer, a former assistant district attorney in Manhattan. They both like to read, they both have a surprisingly sharp sense of humour, they both care about the Cheyenne people and the state of affairs not only on Tribal land, but Absaroka county in general, the world itself. Not only will Beth drop almost everything for a protest, but comes fully equipped with supplies and snacks for everyone. It's especially nice to have a female friend in a place that is so inherently masculine in mood and energy. Someone who doesn't need to have things explained, someone who just...gets it, despite the eight-year age gap between them. She thinks Rebecca is smart, funny, absolutely stunning, and Beth would knife fight a battalion of rabid mountain lions to defend her. She might even, on occasion, side with Reb and not Henry. Her nickname for Reb is, of course, Rebel. {Sometimes, Kipi ~pronounced kee-pee in the ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi~.} I really do want to see them interact with each other more, have their own adventures and absolutely have a good time doing it!
