New Rejected Disney Television Animation Pilots Unveiled "Odd Jobs" and "Portal Hoppers"

Recently we unveiled a a look to the rejected Disney TVA series Uncookedland, apparently Matt Danner ("Legend Of The Three Caballeros") worked as Director for the pilot.

As Danner was thanking the people for seeing the pilots where here worked on ("Shred Force", "MEGA, MEGA Whoosh" and Uncookeland"). Cartoon Network Studios creator Andrew Dickman ("Harmony In Despair") mentioned a pilot under the name "Odd Jobs" where he worked on.

Not many information for Odd Jobs or it's creator is available however based on it's title we can assume is a wacky episodic comedy about the mcs having multiple jobs.

Recently JJ Villard attended the Creative Block podcast where he commented about his career as cartoonist/animator that lead to create the Adult Swim series "King Star King" and "JJ's Villard Fairy Tales" and the Cartoon Cartoons short "Scaredy Cat" that according to him almost lead him to be blacklisted after trying to sell it to Nickelodeon since Warner Bros/Cartoon Network dosn't want to release it and apparently broke the NDA contract.

During the podcast Villard revealed that he had a small overall development deal with Disney Television Animation with a show under the name "Portal Hoppers" according to Villard the series was aiming to be for Disney XD, as it's name says the show would have been about multiverse dimension hopping alongside the likes of Star Vs The Forces of Evil by Daron Nefcy, Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero by Jared Bush and Sam Levine and Very Important House by Jenny Goldberg and Jhonen Vasquez this is the only information so far.

Likely "Portal Hoppers" was passed when Disney decided to bring back all DTVA series in development for the Disney Channel which made Portal Hoppers to feel out of place with the demographic Disney Channel is know for.

Okay. super excited for ballmastrz!! You guys have no idea how this guilty pleasure show means to me. (Also it means that the metalocalypse and venture bros films are unlikely to get cancelled hopefully) but King Star king though??! and why does the animation look like jj villard’s fairy tales?

more stuff from binge wheel dx

Binge DX is a bit bigger than my last binge wheel, so that's why I'm making more lists than usual. Anyways, let's take a look at all the stuff I watched on here.

My Neighbor Totoro

I originally swore off Ghibli for being too overrated, but I gave this movie a try. It was the most relaxing movie I have ever seen. I always smiled when Totoro and his furry friends were onscreen.

Favorite Characters: Mei, Totoro, Chu Totoro, Chibi Totoro, and Catbus

Ultraman Rising

I used to be a huge toku fan back in the day, so that's why I decided to watch this movie. It was quite action-packed, but it was also an emotional story about family.

Favorite Character: Emi

King Star King

This was the nastiest shit I've ever watched. The characters either explode or make scary faces after 0.2 seconds, but it was also very short.

The 2023 special was kind of disappointing because its plot wasn't as zany as the other episodes, but at least our heroes had to kill Jeff Bezos. I'm not kidding about that last part.

Xavier Renegade Angel

I didn't finish this one because all of the episodes were in the incorrect order. On the bright side, The episodes felt kind of short, so they were easier to finish. And yes, I even liked its surreal sense of humor.

might be random for me to post on here, but last night I watched the King Star King special on HBO Max, and I don't remember ever being as disappointed in Adult Swim than I was after watching it. I admit the original KSK hadn't aged that well, but it had it's own unique grody style that reminded me of schoolbook margin doodles. The new special overcorrected too much into cringe rick and morty territory. Makes sense, as Justin Roiland's greasy little fingers are all over it as a producer. There's a little charm to it's south park-esque animation, but it's lost all the charm from the original series in this new special.

They're better off putting the original pilot and mini series on HBO Max instead, but I hear these days they're not really interested in adding new titles, just removing them before anyone can watch them lmao

Danny accepts that because of his half dead status he won't be able to become an astronaut and he has to find a different way to feed his space obsession.

He decides to get really into astromancy (yes, the magic. He already knows everything about astronomy). He gets himself the more spiritual star charts, old surprisingly authentic tomes about the art and divination cards to go with it all and gets to learning.

Tbh he kind of went into this not expecting much but it turns out he had homo magus heritage from his Nightingale roots and he actually manages to call upon the power of the stars.

He figures he can blame the vaporized wall on ghosts.

Meanwhile, a foreboding feeling like cold shivers run down the spines of several magic users that they can only describe as "a child having figured out they need to switch off the safety on their mini nuke launcher in order to fire it"

The JLD is scrambling to locate the source of the surge in magic power before someone with bad intentions can get there.
