thinking so much about the nature of the brodia royalty’s names because morion is a type of helmet and helmets protect what’s most important and often end up dented or broken in the process and that’s what happened to morion because he was protecting diamant alcryst and brodia and diamant is the male variation of diamante which is a middle english name varying from diamond and diamonds are sparkling and gorgeous and perfect and formed under pressure which diamant was and alcryst is derived from crystal and crystals are so broad in their structure and some are weak and some are strong and people always forget that diamonds are crystals and that represents how alcryst forgets his strengths and the similarities he has with his brother and just. i’m obsessed with them.

I find it funny how the Fire Emblem fandom’s consensus on King Morion is either “I love him, what a wholesome dad” or “I hate him, what a warmongering idiot” with very little in between.

Modern au
Cause I can't help but think that Morion would be the kind of dad, that eats way too much meat, but still buys every vegan product for his vegan son
(Part of me thinks that Alcryst would be vegan, cause he doesn't want other beings to die for him)

For day 17: Semi-conscious
When Alcryst is kidnapped by a trusted ally, with plans to pass him on to Elusia to be held for ransom, Diamant mounts a rescue attempt against his father's wishes.
Not gonna lie, I posted this on AO3 at almost midnight last night, and just now realized I didn't put the link here.
Final chapter is up!

The Death of King Morion from old order to the new
The importance of King Morion's death is that it symbolises change. Change needs to happen in all four kingdoms to ensure peace, cooperation and understanding. King Morion's reign represents: violence, stigmatisation and aggression.
Violence - instead of seeking peaceful solutions it is deemed acceptable to take things by force. The war with Elusia is an example of this force.
Stigmatisation - Instead of trying to understand the culture of Elusia, negative labels are created such as 'dangerous' and 'unpredictable '.
Aggression - Instead of the appreciation of a person's different qualities and skills, a person's value is judged by might. A person's strength is the basis of social mobility.
King Morion has to die so that Brodia can move on from his style of leadership. Diamant is the catalyst for this change and he represents: peace, cooperation and understanding.
Peace - He does not want to start new wars or expand Brodia's territory. He seeks peaceful solutions to Brodia's problems.
Cooperation - By changing Brodia to a mining economy and trading with the other nations of Elyso he is creating mutual dependency. Brodia trades the primary resource and the artisans of other kingdoms use that resource to create something.
Understanding - By understanding the different industries and resources of other kingdoms, Diamant can adapt Brodian industry to accommodate.  Ivy puts it perfectly; 'Brodian resourcefulness, Elusian talent. A path to peace and prosperity based on respect for one another’s gifts.'
