I'll end the rotation with a picture of their newly renovated house. It looks a bit wonky, but I didn't want to spend too much time on it. I have to rebuild all these bigger houses at some point anyway and add driveways.
That's all for the King household. Next up is the Remington household!

Charles XV of Sweden and Norway
Artist: W C Sondels
Charles XV or Carl (Carl Ludvig Eugen; Swedish and Norwegian officially: Karl; 3 May 1826 – 18 September 1872) was King of Sweden and Norway, there often referred to as Charles IV, from 8 July 1859 until his death in 1872. Charles was the third Swedish monarch from the House of Bernadotte. He was the first one to be born in Sweden, and the first to be raised from birth in the Lutheran faith.

e6 predictions (they get more unhinged the further you go)
lake scene is NOT the final scene or a breakup scene
the wilmon car scene is the last scene
elias song!!
wille won’t abdicate (just because you can’t abdicate before you’re even on the throne)
BUT he does tell his mother that he’s leaning towards not wanting to be king
felice and sara will start to be friends again (during the neon party?)
hillerska closes down
fredrika and stella are temporarily pissed at felice for the closure
wilmon will get a “let’s stay together, we love each other and we can try to make it work” endgame
saraugust won’t be endgame
we get to actually see one of august and wille’s mediation therapy sessions and what they talk about
vincent and august are on not-so-great terms at the end of the show
the first year’s letters to their future selves come back into play
as per usual ludvig does nothing significant or useful to help wille or the plot
wille looks into a mirror and gives himself a tiny smile
music room redemption scene
simon writes/sings a song for wille for his real birthday present
wille learns the truth about where his orange sweater really went
by some miracle there is enough time in the episode for simon to go see boris himself
someone actually remembers that rousseau exists (even better, we actually SEE rousseau)
someone accidentally starts a fire during the neon party
august and vincent try to throw punches at each other during the table scene
marcus shows up at graduation for whatever reason and malin kicks him out
simon jumps vincent while everyone else politely applauds
felice gets to yell at the headmistress for her casual microaggressions
linda delivers a bitch slap to august’s stepdad
someone says “i’m proud of you” to wille

funnily enough, season 3 changed how i view and write the royal family. and i mean every single member lmao
erik was not as perfect or as kind as a lot of us hoped for as and wille believed. he could be cruel and was likely just as unhappy as wille was as crown prince. he was just more willing and skilled at hiding it. this kind of creates an interesting view into how their sibling dynamic was so different from their actual selves. or at least it was for erik. in my mind, erik grew up knowing he was going to take over the throne and therefore felt like he kind of had to split himself off into different personas-showing a different part of who he really was to certain people so that everyone could stay in his corner (like a good king would i guess). so much so that no one, not even his parents or wille or august, can ever get a true grasp on who erik was.
wille didn’t grow up like that. he grew up very similarly, but he didn’t have the expectation of ruling an entire country. he was more of a “what if” and “just to be safe” option. he was an afterthought, and rather than split his personality into different pieces of himself, he instead became more of a recluse who yearns for love but never receives it in the way he needs. so he is only ever fully himself when he’s around people who can reciprocate his yearning for kindness and care. the people who he feels safe with. erik was that for him even though erik, unbeknownst to him, wasn’t who he really thought. and simon eventually became that safety net as well. but by that time he had become crown prince. and to be the crown prince, he was gonna have to adapt like erik had. and wille was never good at pretending for the sake of others, so the crown prince persona ended up intruding onto the real wille until simon could no longer recognize him.
kristina is neglectful and ludvig is a silent passenger in it all. these are things i already knew but i feel like season 3 gave me so much more to work with in terms of their family dynamic. wille loves them both and was going crazy with guilt at the thought of kristina’s mental health deteriorating because of him. wille blames himself a lot, which makes me believe that the two of them had no problem doing that before. blaming wille for scandals or tiny mistakes he made. so much so that wille ended up convincing himself that everything that goes wrong is somehow his fault. just bad bad parents. do i think they love wille? yea im sure they do, but the crown clearly comes first for them and wille honestly deserves so much better. he deserves to be loved in a way that is reciprocal and not based on condition. kristina loved erik so much because erik wasn’t just her firstborn but was also the perfect crown prince. he listened and followed order and played puppet. wille was obviously much more difficult, and since she couldn’t show her love for him by praising his behavior, she just didn’t show him it

Musing out loud on the long-haul timelines in YR:
How old do we think Kristina is? I know Pernilla August is 64, but I doubt Kristina is supposed to be quite that old because that would mean having Wille at 48 (not impossible, but less likely).
I do think she was in her forties when she had both sons, though. Did she start later, because she wanted to get established as Queen first, or were there possible fertility issues which led to her only having two? And in s2 it's implied that she and Ludvig knew each other (or he knew of her) as teenagers at Hillerska. Surely it didn't take them 10-plus years to get together?
But wait; Erik was given the frog prince snowglobe by his grandfather (given, not bequeathed). Presumably the giver was Kristina's father? It seems a bit less meaningful if it was a non-royal who gifted it, and also one gets the impression it's a bit of an heirloom beyond just being meaningful to Wille. So that would mean Erik, at least, was old enough to remember his grandfather, which means Kristina had to be into her forties before becoming queen.
So if we assume a birthdate for Wille of mid-2000s, and Kristina's in her mid-forties when she had him, that would make her born around 1960. At which time her father was presumably King. Do we assign her father a birth sometime in the 1920s? Or a bit later?
Please weigh in if you have Opinions on this!

Ask time again! 4, 14 and 30 for the fic writing game if you please :)
4. a story idea you haven’t written yet
oh there’s soooo many. in the young royals fandom alone. i could go into all of them but that would take ages.
let me tell you about on the fence. it’s not a fic i’m actively working on and it might never happen, BUT i think it would be great fun to write. so the initial idea came from when i saw two people in fencing gear in the background of. s1? or s2?? anyway there’s fencing at hillerska!! and i went well what if they do fencing instead of rowing!! but that’s not all! it’s also a reverse fic, so simon’s the prince and wille’s the non-res. which brings with it a whole new take on their story because things will be the same but in a different way. there’ll be this whole layer of the monarchy being under constant scrutiny because a) the king seems to be having addiction problems b) the crown princess is autistic c) there’s already rumours about simon’s sexuality floating around and d) (and this is the big one) they’re not white.
now on the other hand wille’s family USED to be rich but they are very much not anymore. haven’t figured out what exactly happened there yet. ludvig isn’t really there cause i don’t care enough to give him a personality. kristina is trying to “keep up standards” whatever that means. erik is in a perpetual state of exhaustion cause he’s doing the majority of the financial and emotional lifting. and wille’s just a kid who doesn’t want to disappoint his mother so he goes to the fancy rich-kid school she got him into even though he very much doesn’t want to.
august is still related to wille and sees him as some sort of project and, predictably, wille hates it.
felice and sara have been friends for ages, and i still need to figure out how to get a felice wille friendship going. ayub and rosh met simon when he went to public school before going to hillerska and they’re still around.
anyway. that’s it. the plot is the same (at least for s1). but everything is still different. and also there’s fencing
14. where do you get your inspiration?
it’s literally the most random things. i see something and go how can i make a fic out of this. it never stops. the scene that started brothers literally came to me in a dream. conversation and brainstorming with friends is also a big part of it though, cause having fresh eyes on it and getting other perspectives is. so good and fun and makes it a better story!
30. share a fic you’re especially proud of
okay this won’t mean anything to you (or will it??) but it’s gotta be running from, running to. it’s a supernatural fic about claire and castiel about forgiveness and fatherhood and building something out of grief and anger and it’s the best thing i’ve ever written
ask me questions about fics!!

OKay guys, can we talk about this?
SEASON 3 POTENTIAL SPOILERS!!
Tumblr media
I think we all (me included) are antagonizing everything about Kristina's role a lot.
I think she's really torn between her role as a Queen and Wilhelms mother. Some friends and I personally believe that she was like Wilhelm, she didn't really want to become Queen, but she had to. That's why she's trying to force Wilhelm to keep his role as Crown Prince.
And I understand that she wants Wilhelm to be king, because if I was her, I WOULD ABSOLUTELY HATE AUGUST BEING KING. And since there's no options left since Erik's death, she has to pressure Wilhelm, something that, as a mother, we believe she hates.
Because at the end, she's Wilhelms mother. But at the same time she's a REALLY complicated character, bacause it's so hard to understand her sometimes.
I have to say that I felt so bad for her on season 3 because of her health. But, I felt worse for Simon.
Tumblr media
I think that Simon thinks that he's causing so much trouble. He wants to be with Wile, but since he saw what happened on Wile's bday party, he felt like it was his fault in some part of it. Because he thinks that the Queen dislikes him or something, and that that's something that is creating problems between Wile and his parents.
Have to say that I really liked Ludvig to try to talk to simon.
AND have to say that I personally believe that if we locked in a room Simon and Kristina together, two things could happen:
Third world war
Kristina LOVES simon
Because I think that she doesnt dislikes him. She's neutral about him. It's just that she doesnt knows how to deal with this.
Understand that she's a queen. She has everything controlled most of the time. And when Wilmon got together, it was something new to her and she didn't know what to do, or how to manage it, even tough she didnt have any fucking reason because everything was fine until our favourite motherfucker Aug-son of a bitch-ust posted the sextape.
This was new to her and she didnt know how to take care of it, so she took the easy option and made wilhelm say it was not him.
Since Erik Wilhelm was really bad. But Kristina too. She's just really used to pretend, that she's is not capable of separate her role as a queen and her role as a mother anymore.
I think she's a really good character. I ''love'' her? Maybe. Please dont throw me hate about this.
It's just i kinda understand her position here. AND, I also want her to become better. I still have hopes in the last chapter to
Wilmon endgame
Kristina being better mother
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING HERE:
I REALLY FUCKING WANT A GOOD AND DEEP INTERACTION BETWEEN KRISTINA AND SIMON, BUT NOT HER AS A QUEEN, AS WILHELM'S MOTHER.
Because I think that if this all ends well (I FUCKING HOPE SO), they would get along well, besides of their differences. Because i need wilhelms mother, not sverige's queen.
LIKE GOD JUST IMAGINE A FAMILIAR DINNER ON SIMON'S HOUSE BEING OKAY AND NOT AWKARD AND KRISTINA BEING THE MOTHER WILHELM DESERVES AND THE MOTHER-IN-LAW SIMON DESERVES.
FUCK.

While planning ALaWHEO I spent a lot of time thinking about how the Swedish royal family is celebrated and what that meant for Wilhelm growing up. Now with Erik Day I was reminded of this once again and thought to share some of my as always very lengthy and convoluted thoughts.
Irl Sweden celebrates the king's, the queen's and the crown princess' birthdays and name days as official flag flying days along with a number of events of varying magnitude. Military parades, awards, concerts, golf tournaments and the like. For special anniversaries those are even bigger and can span multiple days.
Irl the Swedish royal family is quite large. Growing up, the cp's younger siblings had both each other, as well as a slew of first cousins, most but not all of them quite a bit older, but still. There were always a lot of royals around. The current royal house has nine members, with only three being celebrated that way and the rest of the royal family being much larger.
I have little good to say about the monarchy as an institution and nothing which couldn't be just as well if not better done without it, but I am quite sure that the irl cp's second child is well loved and not made to feel like a spare, but being raised in the fold of the royal family in the knowledge that he is a member of the royal house just like his uncle and aunt, and not worth less than his older sister.
Young Royals' royal house is quite different. We don't know much about Wilhelm's grandfather and grandmother, but from what we see Kristina is well established in her role as queen so I dare guess that Wilhelm's grandfather died when Wilhelm was quite young and his grandmother probably as well if not sooner.
So at best the royal house had six members when Wilhelm was young, with no immediate other family members, but for the vast majority of his life, if not all of it, it was only four. The queen, her consort, the crown prince and Wilhelm.
So three people to be celebrated and a spare.
Maybe sometimes young Wilhelm was glad he didn't have to spend part of his birthday or name day watching military parades and doing walkabouts, and maybe he didn't want events and awards and places named after him, but Erik got all of that. And not just twice a year.
He also got all the attention (unless Wilhelm caused trouble), both the good and the bad kind, from the public and their parents, and the expectations of Erik were higher, but Wilhelm was always and forever reminded that he is less, that everyone in the family/house matters more than him, and it was only him, no other siblings or cousins or aunts and uncles. I'm honestly amazed Wilhelm didn't cause a lot more (and worse!) trouble than he did before he was sent to Hillerska.
August is a second cousin, he doesn't count in any of that. He knew it, too, hence his surprise when the royal court tells him he could be (trained as) a (potential) successor.
Kristina and Ludvig aren't the most warmhearted of parents. They probably neither explained or prepared Wilhelm for any of this properly, nor do I see them throwing Wilhelm a heartfelt private birthday party fit for a child or making sure to show him that he is just as loved and cherished as Erik is.
So Wilhelm spent most of his life watching his parents and brother be celebrated by (as far as he could tell) all of Sweden, while he was the spare who was an afterthought at best, only noticed when he broke the rules, with no one else sharing his position on the sidelines.
That would fuck anyone up, no matter how they might otherwise feel about the constant public attention, but especially a child.
Then Erik dies. We don't know when anyone's birthday is, but we do know their name days thanks to the official list from the Swedish Academy. (Kristina July 24, Ludvig Oct 2, Erik May 18) None of them fall in the s1 and 2 timeline (maaaaybe Ludvig at the very beginning?).
Wilhelm's is on April 6, I'm sure we would have heard had Wilhelm (or Simon!) had a birthday, so that will be the first time in Wilhelm's life when there will be official public celebrations of this kind for him. Or rather The Crown Prince who now happens to be Wilhelm. And it will be The Crown Prince and not Crown Prince Wilhelm more often than not. The Crown Prince who used to be Erik, because Erik had to die for Wilhelm to be of any use or worth officially celebrating.
Throughout YR Wilhelm has started coming into his own, but I doubt he doesn't still first think of Erik whenever he hears the words The Crown Prince, especially when he's not directly being addressed.
I'd guess (although that's all it is, a guess) that at least the Erik Award for Sportsperson of the Year will not be renamed. It probably would have been had Erik not died so young and tragically, but I'd like to think they'd keep the name in his honor and create a new one in Wilhelm's name.
Everything else though? Concert, tournaments, races, random smaller events all over the country? Name and date change. There might be memorial concerts etc for Erik, but those will be something different entirely, something new. Wilhelm is replacing Erik, in everything, and Kristina and the royal court are pragmatic if anything.
In Erik Day I made the specific choice for everyone to move on, almost immediately, at least outwardly so. I'm sure Kristina and Ludvig still grieve, but they do so in private. I might be wrong, but I don't see them making grand gestures or having many memorial events.
I'm sure people are sad Erik died and think it's tragic, sympathy for the royal family will have risen in the aftermath of his death, but Erik was no Diana, and I'm quite sure most people spared his death little thought post funeral. So there's a new cp, so what? It changes little for the average Swede, and certainly not years later. They will have forgotten the date of Erik's birthday or name day, and only remember if reminded. (especially in an AU where Wilmon only meet years later)

The Nobel Prize Banquet
Today it's the Nobel day, a day that honours the memory of Alfred Nobel by celebrating remarkable scientific discoveries in medicine, physics, and chemistry by awarding the scientists behind these discoveries. In addition there is also the peace prize, the literature prize and the economy prize.
The Royal family is an important part of these celebrations.
The King hands out all the prizes but the Peace Prize and the day is filled with celebrations which the royal family is a huge part of.
It's an honour for the chef that gets to compose the three course meny and over all it's considered a very very important and grand night.
Getting an invitation is of course an honour too. The guests are a mix of scientists, politians and other important people and every year some university students get to attend.
The whole event is broadcasted on TV and we get to see alot of behind the scenes everything from the flowers and the florist's work, the music, the food, ans of course the dresses.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crown princess Victoria this year.
This is something that the royal family in young royals would attend too. Especially the queen and prince Ludvig. Crown Princess Victoria attended her first once she had turned 18 so I don't think Wilhelm would attened until then and Simon definitely wouldn't.
Princess Sofia who is married to Prince Carl Philip only got to be part of it until they were engaged. Same with Prince Daniel who is married to the Crown princess.
Maybe Kristina would be more modern but there is no way Simon would be a part of the celebrations during Wille’s first years.

A Mads poll with a difference!
A poll of Mads Mikkelsen movies where the selection is based on range of factors, including but not limited to: genre, writer/director, country of release, date of release and 🎉vibes 🎉
Some of the movies may fit in more than one category, so vibes have mostly informed those decisions.
Round One:
Choose your fave!
Time for flouncy shirts and tight britches, bitches!
Age of Uprising: The Legend of Michael Kohlhaas is a 2013 French-German historical drama loosely based on the 16th century Hans Kohlhase. Mads plays Michael Kohlhaas a horse dealer who gets into a feud with a local baron, leading to an ill-fated revolt.
A Royal Affair is a 2012 Danish historical drama and romance set in the 18th century court of King Christian VII of Denmark. Mads plays Dr Johann Struensee, the mentally ill King's ill-fated physician who has an affair with the King's wife.
Bastarden (The Promised Land) is a 2023 Danish-German-Swedish historical drama set in 1755. Mads plays Kahlen, an impoverished Danish officer who obtains permission to build property on barren land but runs into trouble with a local magistrate.
Flammen & Citronen (Flame & Citron) is a 2008 Danish historical drama set after the Nazi invasion of Denmark. Mads plays Jørgen Haagen Schmith, a member of the Danish resistance.
Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky is a 2009 French historical romantic drama. Based on a 2002 fictional novel, the plot follows the rumoured ill-fated love affair between French fashion designer Coco Chanel and Russian composer and conductor Igor Stravinsky - played by Mads.
Lots of ill fates to choose from!
