i have decided to review movies from my childhood that nobody my age remembers

as a 16 year old raised by three VHS 90's kids, I have experienced so many different different movies that nobody my age seems to have watched. So I have no made it my goal to write reviews for those movies to encourage my peers into watching them because I literally have nothing to relate to with my generation.

I will be ranking movies based on four things: movie poster, plot, acting, and generally whether I liked it or not

The first movie on the chopping block is: lion king 2 Simba's pride

Category 1 - movie poster

I feel like this poster is kinda basic, but it gets the point across that it's a sequel. It shows the old characters to get the old fans in and out shows the new characters to add a little bit of spice.

All in all - ⭐⭐⭐ three stars

Category 2 - plot

The plot is very reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet based one the way that there are two different lion families and the two that aren't supposed to be together fall in love with each other. I mean, I've never read Romeo and Juliet but I'm pretty sure the title characters die, which doesn't happen in this story, so pretty good.

All in all - ⭐⭐⭐ three stars

Category 3 - acting

The acting from the new cast is great. You can really tell there's emotion coming from Kovu and Kiara and you can see and hear the rage coming from Kovu's mom (I forgot her name) when she sings "that's my lullaby". The original cast is kinda bland though, especially with timon and pumba. They were there to review their roles as the comedic relief, but the writers clearly didn't put enough effort to make sure that they were actually funny. I'm gonna include the songs here real quick because there is a lot coming from those. I already mentioned how that's my lullaby is really good, but that's not the only good one. All of the songs in this movie are very top tier but the best ones in my personal opinion are "upendi" and "one of us". I feel like those songs really show the extent the animators could got to with those songs.

All in all - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ four stars

Category 4 - did I like it or not

Yes, I loved this movie. I used to watch it all the to me when I was a young little lad and I still consistently watch it now as a teenager. This was an integral part of my childhood, I remember watching this more than the first movie. I watched it to the point that my parents would have to turn the TV off in the summers and make do something else because I would watch it so much.

All in all - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ four stars

Lion king 2: Simba's pride was a great movie from start to finish, and that'll give it a Witt rating of: awesome sauce

you ask if he needs help, and he deadpans, “do I look incompetent to you?” ( yes, rin, yes you do ).

sweet boy is great at baking, not so much at cooking.

“i read that adding basil to everything makes it better!” ( hiori, no ).

ends up apologizing for the kitchen mess while you reassure him it’s cute.

looks like he’s in a cooking commercial the entire time.

perfectly chops veggies like he’s a Food Network star.

BUT the second he burns something, he’s done. “this is why I don’t cook. it’s bad for my image.”

will dramatically sigh and say, “let’s just eat salad.”

mikage reo

knows the fanciest recipes but can’t cook without nagi reminding him not to overthink it.

“why isn’t this soufflé rising?! i followed the michelin-star guide perfectly!”

you make a grilled cheese and tell him to chill.

lazy king doesn’t even know where the pans are.

“why can’t we just order takeout, babe?”

somehow burns instant ramen and says, “cooking’s too much effort.” with his infamous " :x " face.

starts a fire. that’s it. that’s the headcanon.

“babe, i burnt the water!”

“shidou, HOW TF DO YOU BURN WATER?!”

he grins and says, “talent, baby.”

itoshi sae

acts like cooking is beneath him.

“do you know who i am? i don’t cook.” but secretly knows how to make a mean omelette.

if you tease him about it, he just glares but ends up cooking more for you.

tries to make cooking sexy. “let me show you how a real man handles a knife.”

ends up being decent but gets distracted flexing his skills for you.

if it fails, he orders food and says, “That was my plan all along.” ( yeah right 🤨 )

follows recipes to the letter. he’s a baking pro but struggles with timing for cooking.

“it says to stir constantly, but how am i supposed to prep the sauce?!”

it’s so cute watching him panic that you end up helping him out.

And there’s also the final episode of that season where MK just grow very big to try to fight LBD. I just love that part of his power and I have seen very little people showing it. Like, sometimes that power can show up when the poor boy is experiencing overwhelming emotions that can’t be contained anymore, or pure exhaustion. For example, Having many responsibility can lead to a lot of stress and exhaustion and at some point MK just can’t do more and just become tiny, not able to do more. On the opposite, maybe he experience trauma again through a nightmare (like about azure for example) and the emotional burden is to much and he just becomes big because of that. You see my vision? I love sizeshifting base on emotions :)

The excitement from the day still lingered as we made our way back to the hotel. The buzz of the crowd, the thrill of Lando securing pole position in Q3—it was all still fresh in our minds. But now, it was just us, away from the cameras and the noise, and I had something fun and a bit silly planned for our own private celebration. I couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nerves. We had only just gotten together, and this was my first chance to really show him how proud I was of him. I wanted to make the night special, something he’d remember—not just as a celebration of his pole position, but as a moment that marked the beginning of us.

As we stepped into our room, Lando immediately burst into laughter. I had covered the bed with orange and blue confetti—McLaren’s colors, of course. There were small, goofy trophies on the nightstand, the kind you’d find at a dollar store, with labels like “World’s Best Driver” and “Pole Position King” hastily scribbled on them in my handwriting. I’d even put out a cheesy plastic crown that said “Speed King” in glittery letters.

“Are you serious?” Lando asked, grinning from ear to ear as he picked up one of the trophies. “You really went all out, didn’t you?”

“Well, someone’s got to remind you how awesome you are,” I teased, reaching up to place the crown on his head. It was a bit too small, but he wore it proudly, striking a ridiculous pose.

“I feel like royalty,” he declared, holding out his hand for me to kiss, as if he were some kind of racing monarch.

Laughing, I took his hand and gave it an exaggerated, over-the-top kiss. “Your Majesty, the Speed King, shall we dine?”

He snorted, his eyes shining with amusement. “Lead the way, my loyal subject.”

We moved to the small table I’d set up near the window, where a simple dinner was waiting for us—nothing too heavy, just some of Lando’s favorite Italian dishes, including a massive bowl of pasta. I’d even ordered pizza, because who can resist pizza in Italy? And there, chilling in the ice bucket, was a bottle of his favorite champagne.

As we sat down, I grabbed a napkin and tucked it into his shirt collar like a bib. “Can’t have you getting pasta sauce on your royal robes,” I said, doing my best to keep a straight face.

Lando burst out laughing again. “You’re ridiculous! But I love it.”

We dug into the food, the atmosphere light and playful. Lando twirled his pasta dramatically, pretending to be a food critic as he took a bite. “Ah, yes, the perfect carbo-loading meal for a champion,” he said in a mock-serious tone.

“Only the best for you, your highness,” I replied, mimicking his tone.

As we finished eating, I brought out a small cake I’d hidden earlier. It was nothing fancy, just a simple cake with “Pole Position!” written in blue and orange icing, with a little toy car on top for good measure. I stuck a single sparkler in the middle and lit it, the tiny fireworks crackling and popping.

Lando’s face lit up with childlike glee as he watched the sparkler. “This is amazing. I didn’t think I could be this excited about cake.”

“Well, it’s not just any cake,” I said, grinning. “It’s the first of many celebrations this weekend, I hope.”

“Does this mean if I win tomorrow, I get another cake?” he asked, waggling his eyebrows.

“Oh, you bet,” I replied, slicing into the cake and handing him a piece. “And maybe I’ll even throw in a victory dance.”

He nearly choked on his cake from laughing so hard. “Please tell me you’re not serious about the dance.”

“I’m dead serious,” I said, trying to keep a straight face. “It’ll be legendary. You’ll win the race and I’ll be the talk of the paddock for my sweet moves.”

He shook his head, still laughing. “Now I’m even more motivated to win, just to see this ‘legendary’ dance.”

After we finished the cake, we collapsed onto the bed, both of us a little too full and a lot too happy. Lando was still wearing the plastic crown, and I couldn’t help but giggle every time I looked at him.

“You know,” he said, turning to me with a grin, “this has been the best celebration ever. No fancy dinners, no big parties—just us, being goofy.”

I leaned in, resting my head on his shoulder. “That’s because it’s real. And you deserve to enjoy every second of it, without any pressure.”

He wrapped an arm around me, pulling me close. “Thanks. I needed this. It’s easy to get caught up in everything, but tonight, I feel like I can just be me. With you.”

I reached up and took the crown off his head, placing it on mine. “Well, tomorrow, the Speed King is going to show everyone what he’s made of. And McLaren is going to be that much closer to winning it all.”

Lando grinned and leaned in to kiss me, his lips warm and soft against mine. “I couldn’t do it without you, you know. You make this all so much better.”

As the night wore on and we finally started to drift off to sleep, Lando whispered, “No matter what happens tomorrow, this is my favorite victory.”

I smiled, cuddling closer to him. “Mine too. But just so you know, I’m ready for another cake tomorrow.”

He chuckled softly. “You better start practicing that victory dance then.”

Walking through the cafeteria you made your way to grab a trey from the line. It’s been such a shit day already and it was only lunch. The mangers were all pissy today, it felt like everything you did was horrible. Standing in line you were just all in your head. Huffing to yourself as you made your way down the line.

The food looked good but you didn’t even feel like eating. After paying you took your tray walking towards a table away from everyone. Before you could get to your table however you in your haziness you ran right into someone. Half your food coming back spilling all over yourself. You felt like you were about to bawl. ‘Seriously’ you said to yourself.

The man you bumped into turned around “dude, watch where you’re going!” A harsh voice growled at you. You looked up meeting his eyes, his face turning from anger to calm. Here you were standing there, sauce all over you food all over the floor looking like you just wanted to cry.

“Hey I’m so-“ he started to say before you just dropped your tray almost running out to find a bathroom. As soon as you walked through the bathroom doors you lost it. You started bawling in the stall. You heard a knock at the door before hearing a voice softly squeak “h-hey, are you.. are you in here?” The same voice from earlier ringing through. He made his way in covering his eyes like he was gonna see someone naked.

“Can I open my eyes?” He said making you laugh a little.

“Yeah” you said softly.

When he does he throws a hoodie over the door “here, so you don’t have to wear your wet, stained clothes.” He said feeling bad.

“Th-thank you” you said wiping your nose with some toilet paper. You took your shirt off putting on the hoodie before trying to get ahold of yourself. When you finally come out the man in front of you is all rosy probably from being in the women’s bathroom.

“Thank you again.” You said with a slight smile.

“I’m sorry for snapping at you.” He said looking down at his hands.

“It’s alright, I’m sorry if I got any food on you” you said with a little chuckle.

“Oh- you didn’t get to eat did you?” He said his head springing up to meet your gaze.

You shook your head “no but it’s alright” you say with a sigh “it’s been one of those days so guess I’m not allowed to eat” you said chuckling again.

“No no let me, let me take you out for lunch? I didn’t eat either, we can get lunch together my treat?” He said with a nervous smile.

You couldn’t help but smile, he was super cute. His pretty brown eyes and that smile made him look like a big ol puppy. How could you say no?

“Uh. Yeah, you sure?” You said back nervously.

“Least I can do for wasting your food” he said with a little sigh scratching the back of his head.

“Alright, sounds good to me” you say smiling up at him making him blush.

“I’m y/n by the way” you say.

“I’m seungmin, it’s nice to meet- wait I know you.” He says pointing a bit.

“You’re a producer and writer here aren’t you?” He asks tilting his head a bit.

“Oh yeah, yeah I am.” You say feeling shy now.

“That’s awesome! Wanna talk music while we get food? I’ve always wanted to make a song with you.” He said with a big smile.

“Sounds exciting!” You say smiling big now.

“This must have been fate huh?” He chuckles.

“Yeah.. haha food fate” you say joking with him.
