In a world of “In a world posts”:

It’s likely that you’ve seen a meme or inspirational quote about being yourself or some other character in a world of.... Harley Quinns, Kardashians, etc. While I appreciate the message, which is to be yourself or be different the truth is it’s a little counterintuitive. I’m the first person to be annoyed by someone reaching to make an argument out of a positive thing. However I feel it’s already too damn hard to be a woman and be comfortable at the same time anyway. We have pressure within our families, social groups, religious factions, relationships, work settings and so on, to be everyone’s favorable version of ourselves. We do this to each other too, without realizing it. Like creating these standards to which we need to be at the center of how everyone feels we should be. From the way we look, talk, behave, what we eat... literally everything. It’s so weird. Let’s face it, men have their own bag of shit to deal with, toxic masculinity, pride, jealousy, egocentricity, inferiority complexes, self esteem issues. I mean as a whole we’re all pretty jaded. So why the hell are we spending the small amount of time that we get to exist on earth fighting and degrading each other? Visit ANY comment section. ANYWHERE. There’s an argument. Why? Because someone doesn’t like the version of someone, that someone is being. The MOST important thing you should ask yourself after every encounter that doesn’t end well or isn’t going well should be “Am I being KIND? Am I being truthful, or helpful? Have I overstepped my boundaries? Have I been my kindest self?” If you’ve been kind then FUCK ‘EM. We don’t owe people kindness, we show people kindness. When they show us they don’t want it, we move on. No hate, no revenge, just move on. Life is too short for everyone to carry around all the masks everyone wants us to be. 💁🏻‍♀️
