My Favourite Books of All Time

I love to read, and I’ve read a lot of great books over the years. It’s always hard to narrow it down to just a few favourites, but I’ve managed to do it. Here are my all-time favourite books:

“To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee is one of my favorites. This classic novel is set in the deep south during the 1930s. It tells the story of a young girl, Scout, and her father, Atticus Finch. Atticus is a lawyer who defends a black man who has been accused of a crime he didn’t commit. This book is a fascinating look at race relations in America, and it’s also a great story.

Another one of my favorites is “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This book is set in the 1920s and tells the story of Jay Gatsby and his obsession with a girl named Daisy Buchanan. Gatsby throws lavish parties in an attempt to impress Daisy, but his efforts are ultimately unsuccessful. This book is a great look at the people who were rich during the Roaring Twenties.

“The Catcher in the Rye” by J.D. Salinger is another great book. This is the story of Holden Caulfield, a teenage boy who is kicked out of a prestigious boarding school and then runs away from home. Holden is a rebel who doesn’t conform to society’s expectations. I related to him a lot as a teenager, and I think many people will be able to relate to him as well.

Finally, I wanted to mention a book that is near and dear to my heart: “The Harry Potter series” by J.K. Rowling. I grew up reading these books, and they are some of my favorites. If you’ve never read them, I would highly recommend them. They are perfect for both adults and children.

The title of this book is all it took to gain my undivided attention. Not only did the title let the reader know that the protagonist is a woman with a full figure, but the title also leads you to think that it is going to be an easy read. It turns out that I was right on both counts. 

This book follows a young woman, Rory, who is in her senior year of high school. Her name is where the uniqueness of this story ends. This book is almost an exact copy of the movie, “She’s All That!”. 

**ATTENTION** I am not saying that I did not get enjoyment out of the book! ** 

I am merely pointing out that there were not many surprises for me while I was reading. Within the first two chapters, I knew what was going to happen to the protagonist and that my heartstrings were going to be pulled taut through the last half of the book at least. At one point, I locked my phone and just closed my eyes because the scene that I was reading was hitting very close to home. 

Now, other than a tad bit of glossing that the author did towards the end of the story, I really enjoyed reading about Rory and Beckett. At the very least, this story was an interesting beginning to a series that is curvy girl centric!

Journal to the Center of the Soul - The Universe has my back

Wrting allows me to connect to something that I don’t understand. It has been a teacher, a giver and my enermy all in one. 

When I am able to express myself, this makes me feel whole. 

In the last few weeks, through the experience and combination of meditation and writing I have felt the most whole I ever have. 

I have been a better partner, worker and father. I have been patient and giving and secure. 

My confidence and way of life, day to day, second to second is better, happier and truly feels like me. 

In the past I have began blogs and projects which were on the border of being dark and scary, unreal with no soul - but no more - I wish to make this journey for the next thirty or more years in the light, with my head held high, and my spirit blossoming with each step, I know everything will be alright, because the universe has got my back.

I have been conducting the full cognitive mediation practise for a week now and I truly believe in its power. I am a differnet person now. My mind is full and lush, postive and charged. I no longer feel burden with my place in the world, but also know the path to growth is ahead of me. For the first time ever, people’s words and negativitiy is not affecting me - they cannot bring me down ... 

Through sitting and meditating I no longer feel rushed or pressured, or overwheled with anxiety. 

I am a pure human being - a spirit, having a human experience. And it is wonderful, free and liberating. 

I urge you, if you are feeling any of the negative feelings that I have mentioned above, take the time to look after yourself get involved in good books, helpful and postive books. 

Try “Breaking the Habit of Being You”, or “The Untethered Soul” or any of the thousand of good books out there. 

We all have lessons to learn, and we are either going to learn them in PAIN or in JOY - reading books gives you the opportunity to grow with JOY - I have done both and can share that growing in JOY is of course safer, but also more rewarding as well. Any one can grow in pain, but growing in JOY is beyond human and connects you to mankind. 

And believe it or not, the goal in this life for all of us is  - connection, transformation and education.

Follow this young one and things will rarely go astray.
