Plague Doctor Cindy!

Hi, I drew this concept art sheet thing shortly after drawing the Butcher!Aurora art and I took a break after that. Sorry I didn't post this one immediately.

Rambling below (TW: medical subject matter like diseases and surgery, death, delusions, and cannibalism)

Meta wise, she started out as a mad scientist for the sake of being a mad scientist by listening to Novocaine by Cree-P and GHOST, and Black Box Warrior-OKULTRA by Will Wood. I just imagined Cinderella going too hard or harsh on Lady Tremaine, her patient/ser-worker/co-star, with her research, experiments, and surgeries out of frustration, stress, and madness. Hell, I would not be surprised if she tried lobotomy at some point during her side jig/job as a doctor.

But ever since I listened to Butcher Vanity by Vane and Flavour Foley, Cinderella later grew to be more than just a plain old mad doctor as I revisited her Screen Universe para concept and explore what her deal is. From why exactly did she fall into this path, to her relationships with the characters related or relevant to her story. She became another tragic character. This time, someone who developed an obsession with finding a cure for the prions after it "ate up" her once villain co-worker friend with in-character or canon compliant delusions.

Eldritch Cinderelly (the note says healthy because their true forms's color and brightness changes if they get certain health conditions. In this one, she should have been a bit dimmer and grayer due to the Discontinuation Rot)

Herbs and spices stuffed in the beak like a true plague doctor. Though, Cindy does this for different reasons. Instead of the original reasoning where the herbs will ward off the plague, she does this to replace the smell of burning and rotting flesh with as much fragrance as possible. It also puts her at ease

(Also from the ID adjacent server) Ok, this one is kinda complicated since I mentioned another para who had something to do with a different Disney centered subplot that somehow affected the plot and lore of the entire paracosm. Basically, Snow White helped one of her ser-workers to found a cult and... everything went downhill and batshit insane from there. Ruined or fucked over the entire government and all... you may either dig through my casual account for the answer or ask through the Screen Universe blog about it.

Bonus: A joke relevant to the whole Cinderella x Sleeping Beauty ft. prion plague debacle arc/subplot (I found this god damn image from Pinterest and I captioned it as "Cinderella and Aurora")

TLDR: 1950 Disney princess becomes a mad plague doctor, grows into another tragic para, becomes vegan as a trauma response, loses her villain patient to the plague's delusions, goes off into a deep end after burning said patient, despises cannibals, and turns into their world's equivalent to a veteran in a "has seen the origins of modern day problems and the horrors of war" way but the war is the plague from the distant past.

Is there a "wrong way" of learning art? I took half a semester of basic anatomy when I was reeaally young, and my teacher used to say that we should never try any other methods of drawing (he lived in the extreme rule-by-rule sense) while we were in the basis stage or else it would destroy our learning

Rules: write a 500 word story (doesn’t have to be choices related) though mine is going to be because I kinda want something like this to happen in BB2 I mean.... Adrian and Kamilah are keeping so much from MC that it’s bound to happen at some point, right? I love this gif so much eurgh! ♥️

Amy focuses her attention on Jax, her arms wrapping themselves protectively around her torso as she edges closer to him.

‘What are you saying?’

He meets her gaze for a moment before turning back to Adrian; whose brown eyes bore into his, a dark look encompassing his face as he wanders over to rest beside Amy. Adrian clears his throat, his voice lowering to a stern whisper, which is directed at Jax.

‘That’s enough.’

‘But what is he talking about?’

Jax shifts uneasily on his feet; all eyes were trained on him, with the exception of Amy, whose gaze drifts subconsciously between Adrian and Kamilah, her eyes widening at the realisation that something was wrong. He runs his hand along his jaw, his fingers resting at the nape of his neck as he continues.

‘I was referring to Adrian’s past, Amy,’ he hesitates, moving closer with every word, ‘and more importantly how it ties in with - ‘

‘I said that was enough.’

Adrian’s usual calm demeanor had faded away, replaced by anger and terror. The pair lock eyes once more before Jax continues, ‘why should I keep quiet?’ He tilts his head to the side as he eyes Adrian with suspicion before turning his attention to Kamilah, ‘it seems that you’ve both forgotten that we are a part of this too...If he is coming after you, then he won’t hesitate to take us all out as well.’

A sharp sigh escapes Kamilah’s lips, a collection of thoughts running through her mind as she speaks, acknowledging Jax with an icy glare.

‘We would never let that happen.’

‘That doesn’t change anything, Kamilah. They deserve to know what is happening.’

‘Jax.....’ she pauses, her voice full of pain and sorrow, ‘I implore you to think carefully about what you are doing.’

‘What I am doing, Kamilah, is telling our friends the truth,’ he looks over at Adrian, whose arm is wrapped tightly around Amy’s waist, his fingertips clinging to her with every breath as he is overcome with fear.

It is as if he believes that, once Jax tells them the truth....he will lose her.

‘I respect you Adrian, believe me I do, but if we are to fully understand why he has this vendetta against the Council, then we need to know everything.’

‘No, you don’t.’

‘You know as well as I do that that’s not true,’ his gaze drifts from person to person as he tries to read their faces for any sign of emotion, ‘if this ‘Gaius’ Guy is after something, then we need to know what history each of you have have with him...maybe this way we’ll be more prepared on the off-chance that he strikes first.’

‘They don’t need to know anything,’ he cups Amy’s cheek with his hand, his stern demeanor softening as he looks at her; ‘we need to keep them as far away from this as possible. It may not prevent the inevitable but it will give us more time.’

Jax scoffs, pinching the bridge of his nose with frustration.

His fear of the truth will get us all killed.

‘You’re lying to yourself,’ he wanders over to the window, leaning back to rest against the cold window pane. ‘Whether you tell them or not, they will find out eventually.’

‘Tell us what?’ Amy whispers, placing one hand on his forearm, her voice strained in confusion.

‘....Adrian?’

‘There is nothing to say,’ he turns to face her, his fingertips drawing soothing circles on her skin as his hand travels to rest on her cheek. He lowers his voice to a soft whisper, pressing his forehead against hers.

‘I need you to go back to the guest suite... Kamilah and I will be there shortly.’

‘But Adrian....’

‘She needs to know, Adrian,’ Jax wanders over to the pair, his gaze drifting between them, ‘you can’t protect her forever.’

‘I know I can’t,’ he hesitates, his heart beating faster with every second, ‘but I can try.’

‘Really? You never really struck me as the protective sort...’

‘Then I guess you don’t know me as well as you thought...’

‘No I guess not....’ he ponders over his thoughts, before stringing his next sentence together. ‘But I know enough about you to make a judgement.’

Adrian’s brow narrows with apprehension, his arm constricting around Amy’s waist as he focuses on Jax, his anger fading as quickly as it came.

‘Well if I’ve learnt anything in the past two centuries it’s that you should never judge someone by the stories that you hear about them... no matter what the source.’

The group fall silent, each lost in their own thoughts before Jax speaks, each word like a sharp knife in Adrian’s heart.

‘Is that what the ‘Butcher of Antietam’ would have said too?’

DUDE ME TOO I LOVE THE SEASONAL RUNNING GAG OF MAKING THE DEEP SUFFER!!! Like Chase Crawford is somewhat typecast as the ‘handsome sexy guy’ imo so it’s kinda amusing see The Deep being the pathetic butt of jokes. I feel sorry for him but it’s an interesting light on a character? (Though yeah it sucks for the poor sea creatures lmao.)

Hmmm I didn’t think the Black Noir = Homelander Clone would be a plot point because the TV series seems to be pretty much entirely different from the comics but I thought they’d reference or draw something to it! Ngl I was kinda disappointed by the Black Noir reveal cuz it always seemed like there’s way more to Black Noir cuz he’s so mysterious haha. (But I suppose that’s how they’re misleading us on the ‘mysterious unknown character’ trope too.) Then again we’re only 3 eps in so far, so I’m still looking forward to any potential future twists. I think Black Noir is amusing so far but he hasn’t done anything drastically good/bad so he’s pretty neutral for me. (But his scenes in Season 2 were really cool and sick!)

YEAH I’M ALL ABOUT THE SOLDIER BOY HYPE. I haven’t watched Supernatural and haven’t really seen Jensen Ackles in anything tbh. But from all the promos, I got really hyped on the Soldier Boy character and his design’s cool so I was psyched haha. I really wanna see a Homelander V Soldier Boy match! It looks like SB got a laser beam upgrade from the promos. And I love how he’s such a blatant diss on Captain America hahahaha

Oh man I used to be so annoyed with Ashley but as the show went on she just became such a pitiable character and like you said BIG MOOD. It’s hilarious she got ‘Also Ashley’ in Season 3 hahahaha.

I LOVE NADIA/VICKY!!! She’s so badass and also terrifying AND THE REVEAL ABOUT HER IN S2 WAS… WOW. Truly didn’t see that coming. I actually get the same kind of anxiety watching her scenes as I do with Homelander…. Ruthless powerful psychos who can just kill you anytime. I wanna see Homelander v Nadia too!!

Supersonic is a really nice guy and easy to root for and I REALLY rather watch him than Hughie. Idk how you feel about Hughie but I personally don’t find him that great and he’s been extra annoying and useless in S3 so far :/ Starlight deserves better

FRENCHIKO IS THE BEST I don’t even care if they’re friends or lovers their bond is just so special and deep and I wanna see more of it!!!

OH AND BUTCHER IS AS CHARISMATIC AS EVER. Anthony Starr gets lotsa well deserved attention for his insane portrayal as Homelander but Karl Urban is equally amazing as Butcher. Such swagger man

Yuuto: Goooosh, how much I used to love him! And actually, he was the reason I got into Arc-V in the first place after episode 7, and it is also thanks to him that I didn’t drop the show after the first half of that horrid quiz duel, which…. in hindsight… was so much better than most eps after season one *siiiigh*If there’s one line that immediately drew me to this character, it’d be “Xyz Monsters’ true power is to use their souls, their overlay units, to annihilate their foes” which is such a stark contrast to Yuuma’s explanation of Xyz summoning (something along the lines of the materials becoming overlay units to support the Xyz monster) and says so much about Yuuto as a character in general. In order to prevail on the battlefield and not lose, he had to discard a part of his very identity. True, he may have started out with a similar mindset and ideals as Yuuya, but unlike him, he evolved past most of his naivety, even though it causes him a great deal of pain.

But… well, then, episode 37 happened and he was completely reduced to being braindead Yuuya’s equally braindead accessory - and from that point, my intense love for him started to fade.

Rin:

Tbh, I never got the hype surrounding her at the beginning and I did not enjoy her initial flashbacks with Yuugo that much either. However, from the moment she kneed dumb Yuugo in the stomach and cried because she was feeling powerless, I was in love, and her brainwashed personality, of which I can see many aspects as part of her serious traits she’d display towards her enemies and strangers, turned her into my second fave bracelet girl~

Your take on Yuuri is amazing, breathtaking, the best written portrayal I’ve seen of him so far. He is rotten to the core, and in the most delighful way possible at that. His dialogue is creative and unique and very fitting to his pre-Zarc personality, and the maliciousness behind his words and actions is so wonderfully subtle, and I just love how he immediately picked up on the immense hypocrisy in Serena’s pride as an Academia warrior, even though she hasn’t set a single foot on the battlefield herself. Only thinking about more interactions with your wonderful Yuuri is making me giddy XD
