Kim-un-Kamuy, the Ainu Kamuy of bears and mountains. One of the most revered Kamuy, Kim-un-Kamuy is praised for his strength. However at the beginning of creation another Kamuy who rivaled Kim-un-kamuy’s strength challenged the bear Kamuy. This Kamuy was known as Etaspe-Kamuy, the Kamuy of Sea Lions. The two agreed to settle their rivalry with a race, whoever lost would have their respective species be banished to the sea. Though the race was close, the mighty Bear spirit won, with the Sea lions being banished to the Sea. In spite of their loss, Etaspe-Kamuy will provoke Kim-un-Kamuy by sending his Sea lions onto the shore, while Kim-un-Kamuy will send his bears to push them back into the sea. Another myth describes that when Kim-un-kamuy’s wife and daughter got lost in the mortal world, an Ainu village found them. When Kim-un-Kamuy came to rescue them, the village surprised him with a wonderful feast, a feast so delicious and wonderful that it lured several other Kamuy. At the end of the feast as Kim-un-Kamuy was leaving the village promised him that if any of his family were to be lost in the mortal world again, they’d guide them back to Kim-un-Kamuy with another banquet.

Kim-un-Kamuy is one of, if not, the most well known Ainu Kamuy. His importance among the Hokkaido Ainu is magnified due to the island being a mountainous region, as well as Hokkaido being the home of many brown bears. However the most conversed aspect of the worship of Kim-un-Kamuy is the sending back ritual. The ritual entails an Ainu village adopting an orphaned or abandoned bear cub. For a year the villagers raise the cub, feeding it and treating it with the up most amount of love. After a year passed the villagers then shoot the bear cub to death with arrows. The Cub’s death isn’t seen as cruel or inhumane to the Ainu, as in their belief, the cub’s death sends it back to its originator: Kim-un-Kamuy, in a sense continuing the tradition of the 2nd myth mentioned above.

"Hell, yeah! Payday!"

"It is nice to see you so happy, friend."

Chernobog walks around, handing everyone their payments. Volos, Kimun, Goemon, Ashigara... before returning to where he once stood.

"Yo! You forgot Yasu and Barg!"

"I have not forgotten, Ashigara. Yasuyori's was nullified with all he spent on you for your birthday surprise. Barguest's is due, but my last pen ran its course with its ink; it will take a short time before I can give him what is due."

"That checks out..."

"I figured already. My payments never come in on time when I do work." "Send me an email when you have it ready, Chernobog. I'll come to grab it myself; sending mail to me takes months."

"I thank you and Andvari for this opportunity. I've gained valuable experience and funds to spend on my cubs."

"It has been an honor to work alongside you all."

A kind bear who seeks to help people grow. Kimun Kamui would not hesitate to give his all, spirit and being, to help those that catches his eyes achieve that which they doubt themselves capable of.

All three are sent reeling back by your question. After a minute of being stunned, the three stand back up.

"W-well, though it may be presumptuous to think of this dark lord to bear the child of my hero."

"I suppose I would be happy beyond belief. Though I know nothing of raising a child, I'm certain with MC at my side that nothing is impossible, even raising a child."

"I feel the same, I have always wished to care for the young hero in any way possible."

"To bare a child with the one I care for most, and to solely raise a young cub beside them is truly all I could wish for."

"I would raise them with every ounce of my being to care and protect both of them."

"You ask this Horkeu quite the question. For a long time, my one purpose has been to care for and train my hero to the best of my ability."

"Indeed, my desire has been just that, but if you ask, should I have a more selfish desire, then I shall do what I could not do before."

"I will provide the greatest care possible, and protect them as their shield down to my very last drop of life."

"I admire your resolution to protect them Horkeu. You are as steadfast as ever. However, I do have one problem."

"Perhaps I misunderstood, but I thought I heard you say "greatest care possible". I would beg to differ on that statement.

"You have heard this Horkeu correctly, I'm afraid. I stand by my words unless you wish to prove otherwise."

"Indeed I would. I have been complacent in allowing you to raise the young ones before, as I believed you were the best. However, MC is one who I have come to care for myself, and I refuse to relinquish them to you this time!"

Sparks fly as Horkeu and Kimun butt heads before both dash off to Shinjuku academy.

"Wait you two!"

"They are too far away to hear me. Sorry to leave abruptly anon but I believe my hero may require my help, so I must leave immediately."

A Summoner Birthday

Special Quest: Kimun Kamui

Oh wow! This place is made out of candy. Is the rest of this world like this?

Not really. Some places are based on different stories. I hope you like it here.

Kimun Kamui: It's not like anything I've ever seen.

You brought your scout master and friend, Kimun Kamui, to the virtual fairytale world because he was curious about what kind of place it is.

Kimun Kamui: I heard there was a river near here. I would like to see that.

Lupin: Okay, let's go.

Lupin and Kimun Kamui: Boom chicka boom!

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Sorry if that is not the right cheer. It's been awhile since I played that event.

With that, you and Kimun Kamui go to the river.

You and Kimun Kamui arrive at the river without and problems.

Kimun Kamui: (happy) How wonderful! This place almost reminds me of when we went camping during the jamboree.

Lupin: (also happy) I had a feeling you would.

Kimun Kamui: How about we do some fishing? I wonder what fish in a virtual world tastes like.

Lupin: Nothing really, it's just ones and zeroes.

Kimun Kamui: I'll be the judge of that.

You and Kimun Kamui go fishing in the river. The both of you are sitting by the bank with your lines cast out, waiting for a bite.

Kimun Kamui: (sighing) This is relaxing. Just you, me, and all of Mother Nature... Even though she's not real in this world. It's just so hard to believe that this place is fake. Those friends of yours really outdid themselves.

Lupin: I think Kurogane and Boogeyman would be happy to hear that. They originally created this world to teach naughty children a lesson. Now they use it as a kind of resort for those who wish to take a break from reality.

Kimun Kamui: I don't see why they should. Spending time in reality's great outdoors can be good, too.

Lupin: I'm sure it is. But for now, let's enjoy this place while we can.

Kimun Kamui: Hmm. I suppose you're right.

You and Kimun Kamui continue to sit by the bank a little longer, waiting for a fish to come. You suddenly notice that Kimun Kamui is looking a bit down.

Lupin: Kimun? Is something wrong?

Kimun Kamui: I'm find. It's just that... This river. It really does remind me of our camping trip... It also reminds me of...

Kimun Kamui suddenly frowning at his memory of what happened during that fateful time during the scout jamboree. You put a hand on his shoulder to comfort him.

Lupin: You have to put that past you.

Kimun Kamui: Can I?

Lupin: Look, I don't pretend to know what it is you went though, but I want to help you just as you helped us.

Kamun Kamui: Thank you, Lupin. Though, I get the feeling that you do know.

Lupin: Oniwaka, Zabainyya, Horkeu Kamui, and... Wakan Tanka. I guess you're not far off. I just want things to be good... For all of us.

Kamun Kamui: I know you do. If anything, I want the same thing. We are all nature's creations. If we forget something like that, then just who are we? I want to help others grow into their best selves. Though Wen Kamui still haunts me, I still want to keep helping others grow. I helped you, Shiro, Aizan, Moritaka, and Kagutsuchi. You shouldn't be the last.

Lupin: And we won't. We will help you just as you helped us. We will keep getting others to grow and become their best selves. No matter how hard it may be.

Kamun Kamui: It's true that this road won't be easy, but at least we will travel it together.

You and Kamun Kamui hold each other's hand with this renewed hope to keep growing and learning new things.

Suddenly, Kamun Kamui's line begins twitching.

Kamun Kamui: (excited) I think I got a bite!

Lupin: That's wonderful!

You both grab hold of the fishing line. After a few good pulls, you managed to pull out... some water grass that got caught on the hook.

Kamun Kamui: (a bit disappointed) Oh, that's a shame.

Lupin: But at least we had fun.

Kamun Kamui: (smiling a bit) That's true.

It started to get late and you both decided to go back to Candyland to return home.

"I'd forgotten about that! Thanks for the reminder, it is that time now!"

"We can't exactly make crops grow faster, so what're we supposed to do?"

"We'll need to work faster with the steps that we have control over, like the distribution of seeds in the fields, picking from the stalks and vines and so on, then the quality assessment of each fruit and vegetable."

"This is going to be fun..." he said with enough sarcasm to drown in.

"I know! I'm excited, too!"

I'm not reading all of that. The difference between Horkeu Kamui and Kimun Kamui when it comes to Ainurakkur is always weird to see. Kimun said that Horkeu was a hero hogger since he raised so many of the children, including Ainurakkur. You'd never guess that from the way Horkeu acts though. While Ainurakkur might contribute to it, his behavior towards MC is just instinct. He saw someone with the potential to be a hero and wanted to dote on them. I'd be shocked if he could even name Ainurakkur beyond him being the one who shattered Horkeu's delusions. There was just so many heroes that they're probably all a blur to him.

Kimun didn't always get to raise the heroes like the other kamuys though since he was supposed to murder them, so Ainurakkur being nice and letting Kimun pamper him has stuck with him even after all this time.

Like brother, what do you mean you don't recognize him?? That's your son!! Even his uncle knows who he is!!
