Very Convincing

"Thanks for helping me, Tom," Harry utters nervously, while they  arrive at Harry's  department.  

Just a few days passed since they came back to Earth. 

"It was my pleasure," Tom smiles and his eyes travel all over the Ensign's perfect face.

"My mom is always looking for a blind date for me, so, introducing you as my fiance,  it was very helpful, " he giggles  and Tom's heart skips a beat, "She won't  bother me with that for a long time."

"I bet she won't,  we were very convincing, it almost convinced myself," Tom chuckles, flustered.

Their eyes meet.

"I… I have to go to sleep now, it's  kind of late," Harry ducks his chin down, flushing. 

Tom licks his lower lip, "Of course,  Har. Goodnight," he says, as he watches Kim going inside his home.

Harry seats on his bed, his heart still racing fast. He shakes his head slightly,  trying to understand  why he feels like this, and why that fake dating in front of his parents felt so right and perfect.

He puts his hand inside his pocket and frowns. There's  a paper in it, and he doesn't  remember  how it was there. He takes it and reads, it's  a letter written by Tom. A short one but very meaningful,  because it describes the same feelings Harry has in his heart right now. So he stands up in a jump and runs towards the door.

Tom is still there, waiting for him with sparkling eyes.

Harry smiles with unshed tears, and then hugs him tightly,  "Me too, Tom, me too…" he mutters in the middle of their warm embrace.

"You are a traitor, that's what you are," Tom finally said to Harry when B'elanna left before starting the race. They both were wearing the red race suit.

Harry wheeled around, smiling in disbelief while he fixed his eyes with his best friend, "I'm not a traitor okay? What about you? Changing me at the last minute…"

"Don't blame me for that. It was B's and you accepted!" Tom's cheeks were red with anger. He has this huge pain in his chest and he couldn't stop his own words.

Harry huffed, "And what should I say? She's your girlfriend!"

They were almost yelling in the middle of one of the corridors. Tom flicked his eyes from side to side. There were a lot of people staring at them. So he pushed Harry slightly inside of his room by grabbing him by the arm

"What are you doing? The race is about to start!" Harry said, releasing himself brusquely.

"Yeah, I'm sure you are anxious to be with that lady, your new partner." Tom noticed the amount of jealousy in his own words, and quickly, he averted his eyes to a side, flushing.

Harry stared at him with a curious frown, "I didn't want to be with her. I would rather be with you than her. I don't know why you are saying such…"

Tom drifted his blue eyes to him. So honest, so full of…

"Then be with me." Tom pleaded. His voice sounded so deep, Harry felt his leg trembling.

"But--but B'elanna…"

"I can talk with her," Tom cut him off, approaching him with a fond smile.

Harry swallowed. Tom had never looked at him like this before. What was going on there?

They were too close, Harry's face was warming up, Tom chuckled, but he never flicked his eyes off of him.

"Tom…"

"What? I can handle it. You just have to say yes." Tom said, almost in a whisper, as he dropped his gaze to Harry's beautiful lips.

Harry's heart was racing, and Tom was getting closer and closer, "What… what are you doing?"

"I'm waiting for your answer." Tom smiled crookedly.

"You are… too close." Harry stuttered.

"And you are not moving. I can consider your body language as a yes."

Tom's eyes were too blue. Harry gulped again, "Are we-- are we still talking about the race? Right?"

Tom bit his lower lip, "I think you know what we are talking about here." And without any further ado, Tom closed the gap between them and kissed him softly in the lips.

Harry gasped at first, but then he closed his eyes slowly, and kissed him back.

That feeling had always been there.

Tom and Harry pulled apart and then, Harry hugged him tight. Tom chuckled. "My answer is yes." Harry replied.

"I knew it. You and I belong together." Tom muttered, embracing him back.

"Yes?" Tom called out and the door opened. A very shy Harry appeared, standing there, hands on his back. Tom's heart gave a turn, "Harry."

"Hello, Tom. I'm sorry for the hour. I just came to apologise, I was kind of rude to you today." The Ensign said as he stepped inside Tom's room.

Tom opened his eyes widely and approached him, "It's okay, I… I didn't even notice you were rude back then," he chuckled.

Disagreement

"This is gonna be great, Har! Cowboys and the wild, wild west!" Tom clapped his hands and then took the tip of his cowboy hat, "Did you practice the accent?"

Harry huffed, "Why is always something you want to do? I wanted a medieval holonovel. I wanted to use a sword!" He waves both hands as if he had one.

The holodeck door opened, showing the boys a great western scenario, "Come on, Har! You can't  use a sword in the wild west, they used guns for their duels."

Both men walked in, still discussing the selection for that day.

"I know, but why do we have to search for a duel anyway?" Harry wasn't  convinced at all.

"Well, because  Golden Bull, it's  a very bad outlaw dude, and he wants to kill us, because  I'm  the sheriff and you are my right hand, we talked about this, Harry!" Tom was losing  his patience.

Harry rolled his eyes, "Okay, Okay, I got it."

Suddenly, Golden Bull appeared in front of them  with one more bad guy.

"This town is not big enough for the two of us, Sheriff Paris!" The guy shouted, and he ran his jacket to show them his gun.

Tom smiled pleased and Harry frowned, "Is he inviting you to a duel?"

"Yes, yes!" Tom muttered enthusiastically. 

Harry pursed his lips, "Okay I'll take the other guy."

Tom won the duel with Golden Bull, and he turned around happily to see his friend. Harry had just stabbed the dude with his sword. Tom frowned, "What the hell, Harry?"

"You wanted a gun duel, I wanted a sword duel," Harry smiled charmingly, approaching him slowly.

Tom chuckled and without further ado, he placed a quick kiss on Harry's cheek, "You are so stubborn. Let's  go for a second one, this time Medieval."

Harry blushed as he watched Tom walking away towards the computer panel.

Tights Too Tight

"I don't like wearing tights, Tom," Harry huffed, trying to put the red boot on.

"This is so exciting! We are in the twenty century and we are about to play one of the most important crossovers of all time!" Tom exclaimed, he was wearing a batman suit.

"Do you mean fiction, right? Because this never happened," Harry stood up and pointed at his superman disguise, "I don't think people wore this kind of tights to daily work."

Tom wheeled around and he took a moment to smite his best friend's attractive silhouette. It made Harry blush slightly, "I'm sorry, what did you say?" Tom shook his head as he tried not to look at Harry as if he were a snack he wanted to eat.

"Nevermind," Harry uttered, flicking his eyes away.

"You really look… great, Har." Tom suddenly said, this time with flushed cheeks.

Their eyes met and now Harry is the one checking Tom with lascivious eyes, he noticed it and coughed awkwardly as he looked away, "Yes, well, you look good too."

Tom bit his lower lip, and offered his hand to his flustered friend, "I don't think Batman and Superman stared at each like we just did."

"What--what do you mean by that?" Harry replied, almost babbling.

"What I mean is, maybe we should make our own version of the story here, and not follow the script." Tom muttered, with a seductive tone in his voice. Harry blinked and blushed even more, "Come one, Har, let's make things interesting." Tom pulled him closer for a sweet kiss.

"I can't believe this is you!" Harry exclaimed as he stared at the holopicture in Tom's room.

"Yeah, that's me, in my College days," Tom mocked.

Harry chuckled, "You mean, you Starfleet days."

"Is there any difference?" Tom sat on his couch. But then he frowned because Harry was still thoughtfully looking at the pic.

"I think I know you, you came to my flight techniques' class and you gave us a speech…" Harry said, without taking his eyes from the photo.

Tom furrowed his brow, "Wait, I remember that, were you the one asking so many questions?" Tom stood up and approached his friend.

Harry drifted his brown sparkling eyes to him with a smile, "Yes! That was me!"

"I recall I thought you were too nerd back then…" Tom huffed as he side-eyed his friend's reaction.

"Oh, really?" Harry asked, putting the picture back on the table and gazing at Tom with a sassy face, "Well, I thought you were too full of yourself back then."

"Really?" Tom echoed amused, "I remember I thought you were nerd… and cute."

Harry blushed, and Tom chuckled, as he placed a kiss on his cheek, "I still think that." He whispered mischievously, then he winked and walked to the couch again, "Should we go to the Holodeck? I'm in the mood for a Captain Proton adventure."

"Su--sure…" Harry replied stunned, putting his hand on his flushed cheeks.
