📰 Herald Pop: "Good Partner," "Your Honour" – The Two Faces of Park Ahin
Actress Park Ahin has taken charge of viewers' week by showcasing stellar performances in various works.
In the Genie TV original drama Your Honour and SBS's Friday-Saturday drama Good Partner, Park Ahin perfectly immersed herself into her characters, delivering 180-degree transformations with her versatile acting, earning high praise from viewers.
First, in Your Honour, Park Ahin played the role of Kim Min, a cold-hearted lawyer solely focused on winning cases, capturing attention with her compelling performance. Kim Min is a character who, under the orders of her client Chairman Kim Kangheon (played by Kim Myungmin), is tasked with defending Kim Sanghyuk (played by Heo Namjun) in a murder case. Park Ahin heightened the immersion of the drama by portraying Kim Min's sharp and straightforward demeanour with charismatic precision as she relentlessly pursued her goals.
In particular, during Kim Sanghyuk’s trial scenes, Park Ahin's skilled acting shone, instantly drawing in the viewers. She delivered long, breath-holding lines during the trial process and expressed tense confrontations with stable diction and vocal delivery, creating a sense of suspense. Through this, Park Ahin completed the portrayal of a powerful and captivating lawyer, leaving a strong impression as a scene-stealer in the drama.
In Good Partner, she portrayed Yoo Jiyoung, a tragic victim of domestic violence at the hands of her husband, drawing attention for her intense performance. Yoo Jiyoung, who has been repeatedly exposed to her husband's habitual violence, is a character who, despite her fear of him, persistently demands a divorce out of a will to survive. However, unable to receive proper help from anyone, she eventually meets a tragic end.
As Yoo Jiyoung, Park Ahin vividly depicted the sorrowful plight of a victim suffering from her husband's violence, even undergoing water torture, and the frustration of not being believed by those around her, all with detailed and emotional acting that deeply resonated with viewers. Most notably, she captured the trauma of a victim, the looming threat of repeated violence, and the eventual resignation that she could not escape the situation, leaving a lasting impact through her deeply emotional performance.
Having received acclaim for her performances in two very different dramas, Park Ahin shared her thoughts: "This summer, I stood in court twice, once as a plaintiff and once as a defense attorney, in two very different roles. I think I prepared for both court cases with a desperate and earnest heart, so the aftereffects still linger, and I think they'll stay with me for quite a while."
She added, "As an actor, it’s a joy to meet the audience with various characters in meaningful stories. I’m excited to prepare for the next story, and until we meet again, I hope you stay healthy and have a wonderful Chuseok with your families," not forgetting to send her regards to the viewers.
With each new project, Park Ahin amazes the public by living up to expectations and showing new sides of herself. All eyes are on the diverse acting journey she will continue to unfold in the future. Meanwhile, Park Ahin is expected to remain active in various upcoming projects.

Have you seen Law School Commentary? When there was a question about Joon Hwi's loveline, Kim Bum said that Joon Hwi's feelings towards Sol A and Sol B was quite different, so he didn't know who Joon Hwi was going to end up with. Wdyt? Tbh as a Solhwi shipper, I'm a bit scared. Haha.
P.s. I recommend you to watch the Commentary to know the whole conversation.
hi! yes, i did watch the commentary episode tonight! i was just about to ask this same question to everyone because i'm conflicted as well — and yet, deep in my heart, something tells me that the actor was just making a joke? or being considerate of the other actors who were present, particularly sol B? or at least that's how i perceived it, since the main point of showing the sol A vs. sol B scenes was to tease the viewers about the "love triangle". truthfully, i could make an entire analysis about why this falls apart because of the way kang sol B is written — let me know if this is something you guys are interested in. but long story short, i believe that the love triangle does not exist because sol B's crush on joonhwi is more of a way to humanize her and not necessarily a plot worth materializing.. or at least that's how it is to me since there was no particular development between the pair whatsoever.
but anyway, i'm guessing he doesn't choose a particular bias for either sol A or B, because it would take the fun out of the banter and the jokes in the mood that they've set. maybe they want to keep the audiences at the edge of their seats! you wouldn't expect the actor to come right out and spoil the plot – it would ruin the fun.
i say this because watching other interviews (primarily the one with just ryu hyeyoung and kim bum, but i guess the commentary videos with kim myungmin and lee jungeun as well), kim bum has a tendency to tease the viewers or entice them to watch the show by not actually answering the question properly. it's always a "will they-won't they" tease, and i can respect that. how else would you keep the viewers wanting more? kb is a master at that.
from rhy and kb's interview alone, the way he described solhwi as 'soulmates' already made me feel confident. and rhy confirming that they were directed to have romantic undertones when filming their scenes just crystallizes that fact to me even more.
and besides, we got so many crumbs from the actors tonight! apparently, the hallway scene from episode 8, where sol A carries joonhwi's bag, had many different versions! (there was one where she piggybacks him – poor rhy's legs – and another where he puts books on her head.) that and a whole lot more banter from rhy and kb that i wish a lot of people got to witness tonight.
so in short, i still believe in solhwi. i have the evidence to back it up. jtbc would be delusional if they built all of that character development only to have it fall flat in the end. but what about you guys? what do you think? i know i'm confident, but i'd love to know if you guys feel the same about this or not. i don't wanna be alone on this boat hahaha.
as a sidenote, i love sol B. but before she gets a boyfriend (or girlfriend, who knows, you'd be surprised), i'd love to see her actually gain a real friend first.
#jtbc law school#law school#ryu hye young#kim bum#kang sol a#han joon hwi#kang sol b#lee soo kyung#solhwi#kang sol a x han joon hwi#otp: why couldn't you be here sooner#asks#mine

on the topic of kdramas i can’t believe i was misled while ‘law school’ was airing into thinking min jungho’s actor was The professor when in fact that guy dies within 10 mins and The professor is actually OH DALGUN?? (sidenote: i’m probably the only person in the world to have that reaction seeing mr kim myungmin in 2021)
it seems like there’s. a lot of law in this law school. maybe a bit much for me as i think i have come to the conclusion that i prefer my legal dramas to be “legal drama” in quotation marks like tdj where nothing onscreen is remotely comparable to a real court of law.
but the allure of a hot professor... hard for me to say no to.

"Law School" (Korean Legal Drama) First Look
Here is our first look at the current Korean legal drama "Law School" Starring Kim Beom & Kim MyungMin among many others.
Now that I finally managed to get my fangirl mode [somewhat] under control, let us talk about the current Netflix original Korean Legal Drama “Law School”. Based solely on its cast list, I already had high expectations upon embarking on the first episode. As a Kim Beom fan, I appreciate his continuous challenge to interpret diverse characters. Things to keep in mind: My views in this post are…

[180819] EXO Approved!? Kai's Special Teleportation Showcase! Interview from Hominis.
Q: Why did you decide to take on the role? A: The first biggest reason was because of the wonderful director, screenwriter, and cast that I would be able to work with. Also, actors don't usually get roles as gods, so I took the role because I wanted to gain a lot of experience, and get a feel of things through it.
Q: It seems like the shooting environment went well. A: It was very fun! Ra Miran sunbae and Kim Myungmin sunbae were very interesting. They were full of jokes and funny stories. We laughed a lot sharing them, so overall shooting the drama was enjoyable for me.
Q: Ato is quite the clumsy character. Was it difficult for you to grasp his personality? A: Rather than saying Ato was difficult to grasp, it was actually fun to act as him. The fact that he was goofy even though he was a god was the most interesting thing for me. At first he caused trouble because of his mistakes but seeing him work hard to resolve them after was very charming. It was because of that that I cheered him on, thinking "Ato, do your best!" even when I was acting as him.
Q: What similarities and differences does Kai-san have with Ato? A: The first thing would have to be that I also have superpowers as an EXO member(lol). I think there are people who don't know yet but (in EXO) I can teleport, and Ato is also good at that. That's one thing we have in common. We're different in the sense that I am not a 'God'.
Q: Your beautiful musical-inspired dance was the talk of the town. Tell us about it. A: It was the director's favourite so we put a lot of effort into filming it and went around shooting in a lot of places. The memory that stuck most to me was when we were right in the middle of Myeongdong dancing with everyone watching us. That scene was supposed to be kept secret, so we intended to film quietly but word spread in the end (because we shot at such a place).
Q: Screenwriter Baek Mi-Kyeong said you were "a beautiful man with a godly aura" A: Screenwriter Baek Mi-Kyeong has worked with 'beautiful actors' in the past, so hearing that is a huge honor for me. The hair and makeup team would also be honored to have worked with 'a beautiful man with a godly aura'(lol)! So I also want to say thank you to them.
Q: What are the EXO members' reactions (towards your role in 'Miracle That We Met')? A: They told me they had fun watching it and that I was 'doing it as usual.' Because I had powers.(lol)
Q: So your powers in EXO came in handy while filming the drama? A: Yes, it was very useful! The first time we were filming, the director said that it would be nice if I made a gesture when teleporting. I already knew what to do so the idea just came naturally. But I didn't do the same gestures that I do while in EXO. When using superpowers, normally people would be a little shy, but it was all natural for me.
Q: What is a 'miracle' that you've experienced? A: As Kai, being able to meet viewers and fans through dancing, singing, and acting is like a miracle for me. My relationship with my fans is like 'The Miracle That We Met.'
