(Dad)
((More pre divorce Eurodyne Family bc I’m free to write what I want))
Every since Ted was born, Kerry hadn’t known peace. But in the kid’s defense, when did he ever know peace? And don’t get him wrong, he loved his son more than anything. Ted had brought Kerry and Louise so much joy and laughter, for a moment everything seemed perfect.
“Dad?”
“Yeah, bug?”
“What is-“
But sometimes the poor kid asked more questions than Kerry had answers too. And don’t get him wrong, he thought Ted’s curiosity was great (right? Parents were supposed to think that right?)
Kerry knew he wasn’t doing this dad thing correctly. Ted’s cries sounded like nails on a chalkboard, his constant questioning became overwhelming fast, his bad nights made but a bad night for everyone… and yet Kerry loved him more than anything.
Ted was around six or so when Kerry and Louise’s relationship truly began to spiral. They tried their best to hide it from their boy, most of their arguments happening after Ted was asleep. They knew their curious boy would have questions they struggled to answer like that.
But when Ted was seven, Louise got pregnant again. And Ted just had to ask that one really awkward question.
“Dad?”
“Yeah, bug?”
“How did mommy get the baby in her belly?”
Louise hid her laugh behind her laptop, Ted looking up at him with those big innocent brown eyes while Kerry fought the mental battle.
“Why don’t you ask mommy that question, babes?”
“Nononono, daddy is the expert on this sweetheart!” Louise urged, laughing behind her hand.
“Thanks hon.” Kerry grit out, pulling Ted into his lap. Time to change the subject. “Are you excited for the new baby?”
“Yeah! I wanna play with her and show her all my cool toys! Do you think she’s gonna like transformers?”
“Maybe. You keep saying she, you want a baby sister?”
“Yeah! She’s gonna be super cool, like you and mom!”
Ted rested his head on Kerry’s shoulder, his legs over one side of Kerry’s lap. The mood seemed to switch to a somber tone, Kerry looking over at his wife.
They had to make this work, for Ted and the new baby’s sake. Kerry never expected himself to be such a family man, but he couldn’t leave them behind…

Yes I know, I'm a day late 🤷‍♂️. Thank you for the tag @ghostoffuturespast I hadn't shared anything otherwise, because I'm not feeling that well right now.
“This cake is divine!” I rave, and Kim got a slight blush on her cheeks. “You’re a very good cook, if someone says something different, they’re lying!” “I agree with Val, it was better than some meals I had in fancy restaurants.” Kerry filled in. “Thanks, although it’s true, I now have to hear it all tonight, when you two are gone.” Ted said in fake annoyance. “And she will stuff me with all the leftovers as well.” “I could think of worse things than being stuffed with leftovers.” Kerry laughs while looking at me. “Guilty on all counts.” I replied. “I think it is good that Valaire takes care of you, you look healthier than ever before.” As soon as Kim said this she already regretted it. Kerry tried to keep his face straight, but for a split second it was visible that those words went straight through his heart. “I’m sorry, it was very insensitive of me to say that.” “It’s OK, I’m fine, Sunshine, just took me by surprise.” Kerry tried to smile, but it was visible that it did hurt him. “I need something to drink. Be right back.”  Kerry stood up from the chair and walked inside. Kim stood up as well and wanted to follow, but I held her back.  “Let him have a few minutes alone, he will be fine. If you follow immediately you only make it worse.” “I feel so stupid, I wanted to compliment him because he was always so sad and now he smiles and seems happy with you. I,.. I should have chosen my words more carefully.” “I’m sure he knows that you didn’t want to hurt him, the last few months were tough and he knows it will not get better. But he still tries to convince himself that a miracle will come around. I don’t say that he’s wrong, but I’ve lost hope and have accepted my fate. Kerry didn’t, yet.” “It must be hard for him then?” “Yes, it could be every day now, I lived longer than any doctor gave me…” I didn’t continue what I wanted to say, I just would have darkened the mood further.
I'm not going to tag anyone, but if you like to share something feel free to tag me, I like to see some nice things :)

Starting Fires, pt 9
Another one I had partially written, finally complete
Full chapter over on AO3!
"Can I drive the Aerondight?"
It wasn't what V had expected when he'd answered Johnny's ridiculously early phone call, but if the past few months had taught him anything about the rockerboy's re-acclimation to life on this side of the Blackwall, it was to just roll with things as they came. Getting him to leave the loft had been a challenge in and of itself, and while he was definitely getting better at it the onus still rested with V to get him to do anything outside the comforting walls of the Glen apartment. So if Johnny was taking the initiative, V sure as shit wasn't about to argue.
Two cups of coffee to wake him up and the city streets were as muted as they could be at such an early hour -- that quiet time between rushes, weak sunlight filtering down through skyscrapers and megabuildings and V found himself thinking it was going to be a nice day, weather-wise. The invigorating kind, or maybe that was just the latent itch that always existed just under his skin, that burning need to move, move, move, picking up speed and forcing its way up and out and he wondered, then, if something similar had bitten Johnny in the ass this morning. Couldn’t remember a time when the other man was voluntarily awake before the clock swung into double digit hours but he'd sounded wide awake on the phone.
A good sign, V hoped. Maybe Johnny was finally starting to take more of an active interest in the world outside the loft's floor-to-ceiling windows.
Johnny was waiting downstairs for him when he pulled up, V eyeing him where the other man was leaning back against the wall of the apartment building, shades on, a cloud of smoke easing into the air around him as he exhaled and he seemed… relaxed. Or as relaxed as he could reasonably expect to be, at least in the eyes of those who'd know better. Johnny had always adopted a sense of languid danger, subtle tensions held in his body and a distinct "fuck off" aura that kept most people out of his personal space until he decided otherwise. But V knew how to look past it, to spot the worry areas where they tended to gather, and knew what it looked like when they weren't there. Jaw unclenched, fingers lax, shoulders held at ease, and when V stepped out of the car and walked over the glasses came off and he could see the lack of shadows under his eyes.
He looked…good.
And startled.
V bit back a grin.
"You're blond."
"Your powers of observation never cease to amaze."
"Fuck you," Johnny retorted, shaking his head, but there was a smile tugging at his lips. He slung his glasses into the collar of his tank top and stepped into V's space, running his 'ganic fingers through V's freshly golden locks. "I don't think I've ever seen you with hair that wasn't green or…darker green."
"I've done blue," V pointed out.
"For like a day, then right back to green."
"Green's the superior color."
"And blond?"
V shrugged, smiling in spite of himself. "Sometimes I like to venture out of my comfort zone."
"You can tell me if you grabbed Kerry's dye by mistake," Johnny pointed out. "I won't judge."
"Firstly, yes you would, and secondly, fuck off, I did this on purpose." He didn't pull away, easing into this part of Johnny's little rituals. Watched as the other man's eyes tracked to the stubborn streak of white hair, felt it as his fingers gently moved along his scalp until the tips brushed against the scar. Let his gaze drop to the necklace Johnny'd been wearing for weeks now, reaching out to trace his own fingers over the familiar circle with its bullet anchored in the center.
"Sleeping okay?"
"A little."
"Wasn't expecting you to be up so bright and early."
"Had a good night last night." Johnny's fingers slipped away and he held his hand out instead. V handed over his key fob and followed him back to his car, sliding into the passenger seat this time while Johnny got comfortable in the driver's.
It'd taken a while to get Johnny to admit to the nightmares. To the too real, too visceral nature of them, mixtures of muddied memories lending shape and dimension to worries and fears, twisting them into something that made sleep a thing to dread at the best of times. Past mistakes were one thing, more liable to leave Johnny grumpy than anything else.
It was the dreams about V that hurt the most.
"It's like I'm you and I'm not, like I'm paralyzed, watching it play out again and again and again and I can't do a fucking thing about it." Remembered agitation and V hadn't needed all the details to know what Johnny was seeing in those dreams, the imprint of those memories as indelible as the ink under his skin. Harsh neon lights lingering in shadows, carpet sticky underfoot, the creak of ancient AC's and it hadn't been any better in that room. Closed in, trapped, thoughts scattered with grief of the bone-deep, heartsick variety and it'd been hard to determine if the blood on his hands was his or Jackie's.
Then a starburst of pain, a twisting in the gut and tightness in his throat and he'd been too enraged to feel fear even as the gun went off and everything had gone dark.
Johnny shouldn't have had to see that part; bad enough he could remember them crawling their way out of that landfill, a hazy specter awakening in V's dying mind.
He didn't need more nightmare fuel when he had plenty demons all his own to contend with.
"So what kinda adventure awaits us today?" V asked, dragging his thoughts back to the present. He glanced sidelong at Johnny, smiling a little as the rockerboy floored the gas and sent them tearing up the street, chased by a cacophony of shouts and car horns. V didn't tell him to slow down; he didn't even flinch. Wasn't sure if it was something that had bled between them, but Johnny drove like V himself often did, brushing up against the edge of outright reckless tempered by a confidence born from years driving these streets. Speeding was one thing; actively causing accidents was another.
V wasn't worried about his car with Johnny at the wheel.
"Little trip down memory lane," was all the answer he got before Johnny cranked up the radio, and V smiled at the opening riff of one of Kerry's songs. Caught the flash of tension in Johnny's hand where it gripped the steering wheel and watched it ease, watched him relax and start tapping out the beat against his thigh with his free hand.
V contemplated asking him whose memory as Johnny rolled down both their windows, letting the wind whip inside, and ultimately decided against it.
He liked that Johnny could surprise him these days.

Postcanon Cyberpunk again:
When Ted moves to Night City for University, Kim misses him so much that she begs Louise to let her go live with Kerry. She’s 12 at that point, and Kerry’s been really working on fixing his relationship with his kids. He’s terrified at the thought of her being in NC, but agrees because it’ll make her happy. He’s NOT prepared to raise a teenager, but he’s giving it his best shot.

When you leave Johnny with kids
Little snippet from the brief fic in which Johnny had to babysit with Kerry's kids. Little Kim is 7months baby here.
''For fffff…. God's sake, Johnny, why my daughter's listening rock?" Kerry exclaimed. "Oh, quit whimpring, Eurodaddy'', Johnny scoffed. "Better raise good taste in music since diapers-age. And not my problem that only chromatic rock calms your princess down. V told me to put US cracks, but it made Kim cry even more." Kerry took Kim in his arms and kissed her forehead. "That's my girl", he said.

don't know why but i'm stuck on the idea of ted eurodyne being trans
he's grown up surrounded by reminders that it isn't impossible, that all it would take is a few surgeries and some paperwork. he's been calling himself ted since the day he realized that the name on his birth certificate didn't quite fit, that it could change with him. his mom calls him theodore when she's angry, and kim's never called him anything but teddy
the surgeries and the implants are paid for entirely by kerry, who hasn't even seen or spoken to either of his kids since the divorce. with every year that passes, separated by time and distance, father and son start to look more and more alike
ted's grateful. he is, no matter what his mom seems to think about how he feels about kerry. but that doesn't completely erase the feeling that he’s being rejected by his dad, in more ways than one

INTRODUCING all 4 of Kerry Eurodyne’s children as drawn by @devincheeartblog
All 4 of these images are based on memories Kerry had of his children. The memories he associates with all of them.
His oldest is Derry (short for Derring) Eurodyne (mentioned in CyberGeneration, an “alternate” timeline but after hearing about her story I didn’t have the heart to leave her out). His most prominent memory of Derry is of the last time he ever saw her before she was killed while he was on tour, giving her a big hug and telling her he’d see her soon. Her death came just a few short years after Johnny’s, and was completely unexpected, so it hit him hard. Guilt still consumes him about her to this day.
Kelvy Kai-Eurodyne is his second born daughter (mentioned in Cyberpunk V3, also seen as not canon, but eh). The memory he heavily associates with her is how she would cry every time his then wife, Zohrin, did her hair in the mornings. He would have to have her sat in his lap to help ease her into letting Zoh fix up her hair.
Ted Nordin Eurodyne is his only son. While their relationship is strained now, Kerry can remember a time when his little boy wanted to be just like him. Even to the point of trying to copy his tattoo down on his own arm. Louise and Kerry both thought it was adorable.
And finally, the baby: Kim Nordin Eurodyne. What Kerry loves to remember the most of her was when she would sleep across his chest. Kerry knew she would be the last, and so he really savored that time while she was tiny and able to cuddle up with him like that. Especially as he and Louise would end up divorcing a few months after Kim’s 2nd birthday, and Louise was awarded primary custody of the kids.

10/17/24: I'm in the process of a major move and don't presently have a lot of time for fandom activities, but I'm still lurking in the background! None of my writing is abandoned, just slow going because Life.

This is mostly just a place for me to reblog pictures of my poor little meow meows and occasional blorbos.
Regardless of why you're here, hi! My ask box is open and I'm always glad to have someone to ramble about fandom with.
You don't have to ask before following me! And you never have to talk or interact directly even if you do follow. 💙
there is a not zero chance that im already following you because i have no chill and followed like 300 people when i fell headfirst into bg3

These days it's mostly Gortash Brainrot, but if they're a character, any character, in those above fandoms you'll probably see them here somewhere. They are significantly more likely to show up here if they are:
An angry old man who is done with your shit and is absolutely judging you (Cor Leonis, Kim Kitsuragi, Charon)
An evil or morally dubious old man (Enver Gortash, Daud, Joshua Graham, Johnny Silverhand, Solas)
A depressed old man who's just trying his best (Viktor Vektor, Kashiwagi Osamu, Nick Valentine)
An old man in a young man's body (Craig Boone, Arcade Gannon, The Outsider, Adam Jensen, Fenris)
Generally considered problematic and/or obnoxious. (Durge, Benny Gecko, Vulpes Inculta, Deacon)
Someone who matches my ostentatious taste in fashion (Astarion, Zhao Tianyou, Kerry Eurodyne)
The reason my egg cracked (Majima Goro/Goromi, Ignis Scientia, Cloud Strife)
Minsc and/or Boo because they've been my buddies for 25 years, so you can pry them out of my cold dead hands.
Definitely not a comprehensive list, but it should give you a general idea.

Out of the Dark please :D
As you wish! 😊
Out of the Dark is my (V)alaire longfic. In chapter 7 Valaire went into a coma due to the relic. Since I love the pain and agony, I give you the start of the chapter:
Kerry realized that Valaire wasn’t breathing anymore. He knew how to do CPR, but should he? He started crying, not sure what to do. Valaire had managed to survive for so long, longer than anyone had given him, he should be allowed to be at peace now. Kerry cradled him, crying and screaming his pain into the world. Ted and Kim came running towards the beach bar, when they saw their father, they knew and they were devastated. They have never seen him like that. It broke their hearts. Both of them were also at a loss as to what to do. Only standing there and watching. They heard an AV coming closer, and only moments later they saw the Trauma Team AV landing on the lawn. Five persons in full equipment left the AV. They wore their common weapons, but for now didn’t hold them up. “Mr. Eurodyne, please step away from the patient.” one of them asked. “HE IS DEAD! YOU’RE TOO LATE!” Kerry yelled at them, black tears, coloured by the mascara and khol, running down his cheeks. “He is gone…” In the very same moment, someone is calling Kerry on his phone, for sure he wouldn’t have picked up in this situation but the line was activated without his consent. “Hi, Kerry!” “Johnny?... YOU SON OF A BITCH! HOW DID YOU DO THIS?”
The title is based on a song of Falco, which I hold very dear. It is mainly in German and the theme is depressions with a nudge towards suicide.
If you read the previous chapters, you know that Valaire struggled with his mental health a lot, so it is fitting for him. The ask is from this post.

Ted Eurodyne: Godparent Duties (1)
Watson, 2080
Age: 18
When he realised where his new friends were taking him, his blood ran cold. He'd only known these people for a few weeks since he'd been trying out different clubs on campus. And that was only so he didn't have to talk to his roommate. It was awkward enough at school now that he had posters of Kerry all over his wall, but the last time they'd spoke he'd tried to tell him that Kerry was his gay awakening. It's not like Dan knew his dad was Kerry Eurodyne, and Ted wasn't about to tell him his last name, but it still felt weird. So he'd been trying to spend as little time in his room as possible, without just straight up admitting defeat and crashing at Kerry's. He couldn't do that. Kerry would start to think he might actually want a relationship with him, and god, Ted wasn't ready to try and mend that bridge. He'd never been forgiving like Kim, he'd always seen the worst in their father. His mom had called him a pessimist, but he thought he was just being a realist. Kerry was a shit father, so Ted didn't need him to be a father at all. He was better off without one.
They'd strayed far off campus, his friends telling him they knew a spot in Watson that'd let them in. Their fake IDs were pretty solid, Alison swearing that she's the best on campus for forgeries- but that's not what he was worried about when they stopped in front of the neon sign declaring they were entering The Afterlife.
"Hey guys, isn't this a merc bar?" He said, trying not to let them see how nervous he was. He knew V would be in there, and V would call Kerry and embarrass him in front of his new friends. They'd treat him differently knowing his last name, and he'd never know if they liked him because he was Ted or if because he was Ted Eurodyne.
"What, you chicken?" Nick asked, smoothing out the Samurai shirt he was wearing.
"No!" Ted said, too quickly. "Just... think it's dangerous. That's all."
"That's part of the fun." Allison said, grabbing his arm and pulling him along with the group. They made their way down the stairs and he felt his heart beat faster when he recognised the bouncer. They made eye contact for a moment, Emmerick looking him over as Ted tried to hide behind Allison. Emmerick's eyes lit up, murmuring something the group couldn't quite hear before checking their IDs. Leaving Ted until last, he gave him a grin before stepping inside.
"Fucking nova." He heard Nick say as he led the group inside. Ted just ducked his head down, trying to avoid looking up. If Emmerick was on tonight, Claire would be here too. And V's netrunner had probably already pinged him on the way in, god this was such a gonk idea.
They sat down at a booth near the back, Ted trying to sink into the leather of the chair. He should've installed some cyberware that would let him turn invisible, he thought as Allison gave him a weird look at the way he was acting. Then her eyes widened as her gaze turned to something behind him, and he knew it was game over.
"Theodore." He heard V say from behind him, in the icy tone that she'd never used on him before, but he'd seen the way she'd used it on others. It sent chills down his spine, reminding him how dangerous V actually was. It was hard to picture her as a dangerous merc when she was sat on the counter in Kerry's kitchen drinking wine out of the bottle at his 18th birthday party. Or when she'd brought that weird gremlin cat of hers to the mansion for Kim to play with and Johnny had spent 15 minutes trying to coax the cat down from the guitar stand on Kerry's wall when they wanted to leave.
"What are you doing here?" She asked when he didn't respond. He slowly turned his body toward her, his eyes wide. He glanced from her to his new friends, who were all now watching him with interest. He knew what they were thinking. They'd want to know how they knew each other. V seemed to notice the way he'd looked between her and his friends, smiling slightly at the look on his face.
"C'mon." She said, nodding her head toward the back of the bar. He stood, following her slowly through the throngs of people. God, he was mortified. He felt his cheeks burning as the eyes of his new friends remained on his back as they walked away. V led him into the back rooms, past a doorway to a room full of expensive looking netrunning gear that made his eyebrows rise. When she stopped and turned toward him, she folded her arms across her chest, waiting for an explanation.
"Please don't tell Kerry." The words fell out of his mouth before he could stop them. He hated that his first fear was to do with that man.
"Ted, you're underage and you're in a merc bar. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't." She sounded so disappointed in him that he struggled to keep eye contact with her.
"Because they don't know he's my dad." She didn't respond, so he continued. "I just... Wanted to try make friends without them knowing who I was." He looked down at his feet, feeling colour rushing to his cheeks again. "Just wanted to see if they'd like me before I told them."
"You shouldn't be ashamed of who your parents are or where you come from." She said quietly and he scoffed.
"Like you can talk."
"I might not understand how it feels to have a famous father, but I can relate to having a shitty relationship with your parents."
He frowned at her words. V had never told him this before.
"What do you mean?" He asked, and she smiled sadly.
"Kerry never told you?" He shook his head, a little irritated that she thought he'd listen to anything Kerry would have to say. "I grew up in the corpo world, trained from a young age to join Arasaka. I was an only child, so I didn't exactly have a choice. And when your parents are good at their jobs, their kids get passed over to nannies. Sound familiar?"
"Yeah. It does." He tried not to let bitterness seep into his words, but from the sad look she gave him, she'd heard it.
"They stopped trying when I was your age. You're lucky, Ted. Kerry loves you. He knows he was a shit father before, and you remind him enough that he won't forget it. But he's trying."
"Don't defend him." It sounded petulant but he didn't care. What did V know? V had only met Kerry two years ago. She hadn't seen the screaming matches him and his mom had gotten into before Kim was born. How the whole divorce had turned into a messy overseas battle, Kerry running straight back to America the moment he signed the papers to give them over to their mom. V hadn't seen the way Kim had cried for days because she only wanted Kerry, not mom. And no matter how many times he tried to get her to see it from his point of view, she'd stubbornly refuse. She was silent for a minute, letting him stew in his anger for a little longer before she spoke again.
"You're an adult now, Ted. He can't protect you anymore. The screamsheets will eventually work out where you are, and when they do you're going to need friends around you who you can lean on."
Ted pulled his face. "He's never protected me."
V blinked, looking at him in confusion. "You don't know?"
"Know what?"
"When you were a baby, he was part of the campaign that changed the law about children in screamsheets."
"No he wasn't." He said quickly, but something about that did sound vaguely familiar.
"He was, he showed me the records. He did that for you. Because he wanted to try and keep your face off the feeds until you were old enough to decide what you wanted to do."
"Doesn't sound like him." It did sound like him. Now she'd said it, he did remember his mom warning him about this before he'd come to University. She'd told him to be careful if he did spend time with Kerry in public. That they looked alike enough that people would immediately make the connection as to who he was if they were stood next to each other. He'd gotten so caught up on her saying they looked alike that he'd completely forgotten why she was telling him this.
"Believe what you want, Ted. I'm not getting involved in your relationship with your dad. But I am going to do something else." She pulled out her holo, her eyes lighting up as she connected to a call.
"Don't call Kerry!" He shouted, panic rising in his chest.
"I'm not calling Kerry." She grinned. "But I did spot one of your friends had a Samurai shirt on and we both know how much Johnny loves meeting a fan..."

aaaand part 3 of the ex-spouse series
Let's talk about Louise
After the unremarkable marriage that was his relationship with North, Kerry went back to his old ways for a time. Having fun, dating and sleeping around, while trying to be a present-enough father figure for his daughter.
For over 20 years, he went through several relationships. Some were serious, but most left him with a bad taste in his mouth and a resentment toward the other person.
He would meet and start dating Louise Nordin in 2054 while she was working as a model in Denmark. They dated long distance for two years and Kerry would invite Louise to move in with him on their third anniversary. He could see this was going places, and he was cautiously looking forward to taking things further.
He loved Louise's similar boisterous energy to his own. They could party, they could make all jaws drop in formal events for each other's careers, and they could talk to each other about anything. Kerry genuinely believed he'd met his one. He was able to talk to her about Johnny, about Derry. About how he hadn't treated his first wife that well, and Louise provided insight of how Zoh might've been feeling.
Despite what she heard, though, she didn't turn away. Kerry valued that. Not everyone could even begin to handle the trucktons of baggage that came with Kerry Eurodyne.
After 5 years of dating, they married in 2059. They lived blissfully alone together until April 28th, 2063 when their son, Theodore Nordin Eurodyne was born. Kerry's only son. And things were still good, but cracks would begin to form soon enough.
Drugs and alcohol took hold again during a particularly bad pass of the anniversary of Derry's, and then Johnny's, death. Kerry was spending more time away from home after Louise reluctantly retired for the sake of raising their son, because she and Kerry both hated the idea of their children being primarily raised by nannies.
In the midst of the conflict, the arguing, and trying to fix things, Kerry and Louise's daughter was born. Kimberly Nordin Eurodyne was born on December 1st, 2069. Kerry tried to clean up his act for the sake of his kids, but found that was far easier said than put into actions.
Kerry would catch Louise cheating in mid-2070, and that really sent him off on a war path. He'd cheat on her in return, out of revenge more than anything concrete. Kerry and Louise "patched things up," but he had a feeling she was still cheating after that point. He'd never question whether Kim was his. Whether she was actually or not, she was always going to be his.
It all came to a head, however, when Kerry was arrested for drug possession, assaulting a police officer, and public indecency in 2071. He was sentenced to 15 months in prison, where Kerry would only receive one visit from Louise and their children before being served divorce papers.
Ever since Kerry got out of prison, things have been shit with Louise. She got some of his cars, his home in Tokyo, and worst of all: full custody of the kids. He guessed he couldn't blame her there. Kerry was unstable, and honestly? He didn't want the kids to see him while his mental health was deteriorating. It sure as hell wouldn't help when Louise would occasionally dangle the kids in front of his face in her worst moments, but Kerry rarely had the fight left in him to argue with her too much about it.
And yet, despite all of the bullshit since they finalized the divorce in 2072, Kerry still loved her. If he hadn't fucked it all up, he felt like he could've been with her for the rest of his days.

kerry adores his children, all of them
derring was almost inevitable, he’d admit. kerry was an idiot back when she was conceived. he was only about 22 at the time. the fact that there weren’t a lot more like her astounded him, given how often he slept around under the influence.
while he never was properly together with her mother, he took responsibility for her as much as he could as a rockerboy with a busy life. he loved that girl. she had her own part in kerry’s marriage to first wife, even.
she died in 2026 after being purposefully exposed to a virus they hoped would make her stronger, but had killed her instead. she’d been abducted while kerry was on tour. and while he’d tried his hardest to get to her and start searching for her as quickly as possible, it just... was too little, too late.
by 2026, kerry had his second daughter. kelvy kai-eurodyne, born in 2024, while he was still very much grieving the loss of his best friend. unlike derring, he wouldn’t end up getting to be a large part of her early life. Before she turned 2, he was in the midst of a divorce with her mother. derring’s death and his divorce from zohrin really fucked him up mentally, making it all the harder for him to try to juggle being there for his youngest daughter and keep up with what the studio wanted from him.
even still, he tried his absolute hardest with her.
ted was born in 2065, a year after finally marrying louise following 10 years of dating. he absolutely adored being there for his little boy. wide eyes and a face that reminded kerry of his own mother. kerry had loved playing songs for him, and just talking to his little weirdo of a kid. in 2069, then came little miss kim. the baby. his baby.
her early years felt like an echo of kelvy’s, as it was just over a year later when it looked as though his marriage to louise was falling apart. with her, custody was hard to maintain. kerry’s mental health was very quickly deteriorating, and thus she was awarded full custody. visits were scarce, but he did try for as long as he felt like he could. as louise and the voices in his head became more and more cruel, however, it really just... became easier not to at all.
by 2077, he was making excuses for ted and kim not to come see him. he didn’t want anyone seeing how far he’d fallen.
