Alright, I finished this fic I was talking about!

It isn't super long, esp. for me, but I am still really happy to have gotten this done and to be getting to posting it. And personally think it is really great.

A more character(s) study piece/character(s)-focused fic, instead of focusing on plot/story (though a lot of my stuff focuses a lot on characters in general. But this is a more heavy kind of character study and/or analysis-type fic. And I personally really enjoyed writing this kind of fic, and just in general).

And I am excited to get to posting it.

Though it might take me a bit to post it both on AO3 and on here (Tumblr).

But with the fic being not too long or multi-chapter, it should hopefully not that take too long finish posting this fic. ^_^

I have Gravity Falls and Etc. fic(s) idea(s)

I actually have multiple Gravity Falls and GF TAU and Reverse Falls and etc. stuff that stems from this specific The Book of Bill thing.

Specifically stuff exploring Dipper's nightmares.

(I have some other ideas for the other dreams and/or nightmares too. Sometimes even in relation to Dipper's in some way).

I love my boy, and his nightmares hurt my heart.

But also because I love him, I want to explore even more of issues/trauma/suffering and/or to do Dipper angst. And etc.

Because I want both happiness and/or suffering for my faves/the characters I love very much.

Like Dipper.

So he is going to be getting even more of that from me, probably.

Because he is great and I love him.

I write for all characters, but Pavitr, Miles and Gwen will be written platonically.

Hey hi it's me again. So I know you're no longer writing Miraculous x Hunter and tbh I don't even know if you're still into Miraculous at all but I was reading all your MxH fics and looking at the art by emphin and it made me want to investigate the lore and watch the movie someday, so cheers to that. But while I was looking up said lore I discovered that apparently akumatized Chat Noir was a thing in canon and he was called Chat Blanc?! And then I remembered that you mentioned in an ask once that during the whole Pitou Shit WeekTM, Killua/Chat Noir tries to get Gon/Ladybug to take breaks and rest and Ladybug just yells at him and Chat's really hurt by that. So now all I can think about is the emotionally-destructive angst potential of Killua getting akumatized and Meruem/Hawk Moth using all of those emotions Kil's got bottled up to send him over the edge. Like wouldn't it be absolutely awful if Killua pushed Gon out of the way of an incoming akuma, got turned into Chat Blanc and suddenly ALL of that repressed anxiety, doubt, fear and upset came pouring out full force? Imagine his canon breakdown in front of Palm but on steroids, with the added bonus of him being a literal walking talking nuclear timebomb because of Cataclysm. Oh, and his boyfriend has to beat the crap out of him in order to save him, that too. Wouldn't that be so messed up? Yeah so anyways I hope that's now wriggled it's way into your brain like it has mine. Still love your writing, have a good day. :3

Hello again! XD I keep up with Miraculous Ladybug in the sense that I look through the tag whenever it's trending on twitter/tumblr haha. I do remember hearing about Chat Blanc! The Miraculous x Hunter au was conceptualized a long time before the Chat Blanc episode came out so I can't speak exactly to how a Chat Blanc concept would work in the au BUT your idea is absolutely great as far as I'm concerned! Any story idea that involves Killua sacrificing himself for Gon is excellent in my opinion lol XDDDD it would be an absolute angsty mess for poor killugon if they had to find a way out of that situation but that's why it's so fun to imagine

I unfortunately don't really write Miraculous x Hunter anymore but yes a Chat Blanc kind of situation would be soooooo messed up but sooooooo good :3

You've talked before about various hxh aus you have - Ghost Hunter AU and Pirate AU, etc (all of which are fantastic) - but are there any AUs or fic ideas you have you just haven't had much chance to talk about here, and if so is there anything you wanna share?

in terms of active AUs i still poke at now and again, one day I really would like to do something with the noir mystery/crimes AU that's inspired almost exclusively by this fanart. It turns out writing mysteries is hard! ;v; But also the mystery would probably be secondary to all the character stuff. The general gist of it is that Leorio works for the city ME's office but also does some back alley doctoring on the side for extra cash, which puts him in contact with many underworld types; Kurapika is a private investigator who sometimes works alongside certain police detectives but mostly does his own thing; Mito runs a bar that's frequented by many criminals and unsavory types, but it's considered fully neutral territory and nobody (nobody) messes with her; Gon helps out in the bar when he isn't participating in underground fights for cash or sticking his nose where it doesn't belong; and Killua has the whole assassin/ex-assassin thing going on. Part of what I like about this AU is that it's peak Killua & Leorio Terrible Gremlin Siblings Hour – When Killua extricates himself from his family he's temporarily restricted to Mito's bar and specific parts of the city underworld (not even the Zoldycks want to incur the wrath of every criminal in the tristate area by messing with Mito, it's too much work) so at some point Leorio takes him in and they develop a fun brotherly dynamic. Alluka enters the scene later on as well! And there's leopika shenanigans throughout lol

my favorite thing about the mystery AU is that Mito holds so much sway in the community – it's nice that I gave myself an opening to do something that focuses on her, if the inspiration strikes me. I think everyone in the criminal underworld genuinely likes her as a person and will destroy anybody else who gives her a hard time, but she's also known to enforce her bar's neutrality with an iron fist. You're actually considered lucky if Gon's the one who throws you out, because Gon's the less scary one.

In terms of old AUs, I used to have a cyberpunk-esque sci-fi idea where Gon's an android specifically designed to appear as human as possible, to the point of tricking scans and stuff. I... truly don't remember much of it. ^^; I don't think I ever figured out a plot for it and so eventually it got scrapped. It was inspired directly by an Isaac Asimov reread and some specific episodes of Star Trek TNG, and there's a handful of elements that got adapted into my TNG AU later on (TNG!Gon isn't an android though).

i WANT to do something related to The Muderbot Diaries, but there's no real connection to be made there... alas... who knows maybe i'll keep chewing on it.

If not, I was happy to be able to submit my trope ideas, some of them got pretty high voters, like bodyguard, former assassin, & Fae (Killua) so Im happy. If I had been able to vote, I totally would have voted for the inspire by the Hades & Persephone myth, because I would love to see a Killugon story w/ that. Really excited for this fic.

I also hope it cheers you that there will be plenty of other chances to vote on the way through, as the story takes twists and turns through a variety of possible situations! At least I get the chance to thank you personally, very much, for submitting your trope ideas. I’m glad three of them were among the most popular! The Hades and Persephone myth was also among the most popular, and would definitely make a wonderful story. I’m combining the most popular elements that I think can work together. For example, Fairy Tale and a Magical AU with witches and wizards are very complementary, and will work well with a Fae Bodyguard and Prince main characters. I hope everyone is generous to me in bearing with however I manage to juggle all this! I’m going to do my best to make it as fun as I can. A delusional blog I wrote about my favorite piece of media. cringe...core....

their is no way for me to exaggerate the importance that hunter x hunter has had on my life. it quite possibly the greatest piece of writing in any language after the gospels and is only rivaled by Jim Dodge's book stone junction for second place. i honestly am at a loss of words in trying to explain yoshihiro togashi masterpiece. it's wonderland with rules. it's nostalgia fighting it's way out of the grave. and above all it is a child's adventure story that will haunt you for the rest of your life. the premise is simple gon wants to meet his father and becoming a licensed hunter is the most immediate way of doing so. but the trials and tribulations of a life that involves "giving up what you have so can get what you want." is more complicated then the little boy can understand. he befriends a motley crew of associates that includes killua, the heir to a clan of assassins who is looking for a way to salvage his soul from the cruelty instilled in him for his survival in the family business.  kurapika a young man who want to avenge his people and collect the eyes cut out of there faces so that one day he may finally have peace. and leorio a man who wants to be a doctor so he can help those without the means to get what they need to survive. the series runs the gambit from film noir crime stories to a mmorpg with stakes so high that the children dance with death surrounded by the embers of hell. and learn that innocence is as dangerous in equal proportion to how vulnerable it makes you. a boy looking for his father, fighting chimera monsters and trying to figure out why all his friends are serial killers.

in one of my favorite exchanges between gon and nobunaga. gon says "why don't you save some of those tears for all the people you kill!" and nobunaga amazed by the reckless abandon of the youth decides the child will now be surrogate brother, a replacement for his dead comrade whose tears were claimed by gons wrath when shed for his dead friend. and in another moment much later gon (spoiler alert!) finally meets his father and breaks down crying saying it was his fault that kait (there mutual friend) was turned into a girl the chimera like empire ants and there shockingly conflicted king. to which ging the boys father says "it was his fault (kait), he got cocky but you are weak and you can take responsibility for that." and that is the parable of the series: you can do whatever you can get away with and still live with yourself and they can do whatever you cant stop them from doing. when confronted by monsters both human and savage your ability to change the situations is all that matters. to quote captain jack "all that matters is what a man can do and what a man can't do." to the winners go the history books. to the victor the spoils no matter what or who they are. the power to influence realty is a primary theme and motif within the series. the inherently japanese idea that if you work hard enough you may be able to stop the monsters from stomping the life out of their chained victims that are dying in the bad way for no other reason then someone enjoys doing it. life is a arena and the cage is the primary weapon of our oppressors. hope is the enemy of Nirvana and bliss goes against the apparent will of the powers that be. savage and ruthless more then any thing hunter x hunter tells us to not wait for some feel time with a therapist to look for our inner child and consul him/her if only so that we can find peace and stop raging like a bull in a china shop at every living thing that wants the same thing as us...to not be food and to have somewhere to rest out heads in-between our conflict with oppressive social energies and the quiet ones who stalk us as prey waiting for a moment we slow down so they can accelerate so that they can drown and resuscitate us on repeat until there is nothing left but a corpse. don't fear the reaper but fear his messengers because they (unlike death) enjoy the process.

it's just a adventure story but so is everything that happens between birth and death. but before i leave you let me just say hunter x hunter has been adapted into an anime three times and while the one currently airing on toonami is the best the anime has the relationship to the manga that super-book has as a adaption of the bible (just saying) which is to say it is very good but you are much better of going with the source material. in closing hunter x hunter is a playground for psychopaths a place where people get erection from killing. a place where turtles grow strawberry on their backs to lure men into the fog so that they may eat them. its a world made of the stuff of dreams but sometimes that shit is dangerous and it is best to leave that shit alone and not fuck with it. it reminds us why maturity is finding quiet place to call home and trying to protect it. not because the world is hostel but because it is indifferent. but more then anything it reminds of lonely it is to be a true seeker to give up what you have so you can gain what you want. it teaches us to respect our prey even as we rely on people we cant trust. seek and you will find understand and you will be understood. for the hungry will hunt and the prey will fear the hunter.

There is No Turning Back Anymore, Prologue Pt. 1. Ch1/15:

Ch1/15 if you count the prologues, which I am, because it makes it easier to cross-post this on different sites.  Mainly here and on AO3.

*Claps*  Anyways!  This was the fic I talked about in my post/reblog here talking about my new ko-fi announcement and of course, the ko-fi announcement itself!

It is another Gravity Falls transcendence AU fic (since both GF and TAU have my heart), and it is completed too! (for the most part).

So I will be posting a new chapter every week or 2, give or take.  Though, by now the first two chapters, Prologue Part 1 and 2 will be posted on AO3 already, and I will be posting this prologue chapter as well as a Part 2 soon here too.  And I might post the “official” Ch1, i.e., the first chapter after the prologue and technically Ch3 on AO3 before a week, but we will have to see there.

I have more to say, but I already said that on AO3, so I won’t repeat that stuff again.  If you want to see everything I have to say (and probably get this fic earlier, since I will be most likely posting this fic first on AO3 before here. Probably) then I do so on this fic on AO3.  Or maybe you just want to read this fic on AO3, if so, it is already posted of course.  ;)

A Girl of striking red hair and her Saviour of Shadow met in a Forest of Death.

These two then wouldn't meet again for many years later.

(though not for a lacking of trying by one of them)

And when they did finally meet again; a deal, a bet would be made between them.

Perhaps it was a deal better not made.

Prologue Pt. 1: There Once Lived a Girl…Chapter Summary:

...Who was left to die.

Only to be saved by someone from where she had been dragged to, to die.

Who was so traumatized she didn't even remember her own name.

(Or maybe she just no longer wanted that name anymore).

Oh poor, oh poor nameless girl.

She will be getting a new name soon.

So that is least some good news for her.

There once lived a girl whose parents she both loved and were terrified of.

There once lived a girl who saw things she probably should have never seen.

There once lived a girl who had tried to get help, but no one ever believed her.  Her family seemed “perfect” after all.

There once lived a girl who wished her family was actually perfect and that she wasn’t so scared of the parents she loved.

There once lived a girl who had finally “crossed” one too many lines for her parents and so they decided to make her vanish.

There once lived a girl who was abandoned by her parents all alone in a forest of horrors; left to die or maybe even worse.

There once lived a girl who was saved from that dark, lonely, horrifying forest from a being of nightmares that most would wish they would never meet.  But to the girl, the shadow-y being was her knight in shining armour who had saved her.  

And there once lived a girl who showed up at a police station mysteriously all alone, covered in a bright red hoodie coat, covered in mud and dirt and branches and no shoes, but strangely not even a scratch on her.

They asked her for her name, but she just responded with silence.  When asked where her parents were and why she was there.  The only things she would say was that her parents left her all alone in a forest and that she was rescued by a being of darkness and shadows.  That being was her Knight, her hero.  

At this, the police were left both saddened by her explanation and also confused; thinking that maybe she had conjured up hallucinations in her fear or even due to hyperthermia.  They didn’t doubt she was probably rescued from the forest after being sadly left there by her parents, but they did doubt who rescued her.  Since from her description of it, it sounded more like something that would gobble up children instead of saving them.  It was probably just her mind and darkness playing tricks on her.

The girl, when told gently this, would protest vehemently about what she saw.  Saying she knew what she saw and she wasn’t lying!  They didn’t say she was lying, but to her, it felt like they were.  She would keep saying how she was rescued and by whom, even if her memories were kind of murky and cloudy and she couldn’t remember everything, what she did remember she told.  And she never once changed her story.  In the end, her rescuer was put as Unknown in the report.  

The police also tried to look into her parents, since the girl, when they were able to get her to talk more, told them her parents weren’t always really the best and that they scared her and she tried to get help, but no one believed her, because their family appeared so “perfect” from the outside, and that, she had done something that finally made her parents mad enough that they didn’t want to keep her around anymore.  That her parents and some other people, some she recognized and some she didn’t, had gagged her, blindfolded her, tied her up tightly and roughly and threw her in the back of some kind of moving vehicle.  She didn’t know what exactly though, because she couldn’t see.  That she had laid in the dark and cold of that vehicle for a very long time.  Roads turned from smooth to rough, to finally, the vehicle stopped, and she was dragged out of the car, and where she had tried to fight back, but couldn’t do so very well, and as such only got a punch to the gut and a smack in the face for her trouble.

This part and some other parts of the story would baffle the people hearing the story, because some of the stuff she said happened, should have left wounds or at least markings, but there hadn’t been a scratch on her.  When asked about that, all she would say is that her Knight took care of those for her.  The police started to think more and more that some parts of her story was her mind trying to protect her from the trauma she went through, which actually happened.  Because while some things certainly happened, some other things felt a lot more outlandish, and for lack of a kinder word, “made up”.  

These thoughts though, weren’t voiced outloud, but if you were paying enough attention, you could see it in their faces or in their voices, and the girl, oh how did she see and hear it.  How she hated people thinking she was a liar!!  The police asked the girl to continue the story, and they thought for a second she would clam up again and decide not to speak for awhile, because she had gone quiet.  And the girl toyed with that idea, to just stop answering their questions, and the girl almost did, if at least, out of spite.

 …But after a beat.  2 beats.  3.  4.  She finally continued.

And said, after they hurt her like that for trying to fight back, that they had dragged her by her arms and hair for awhile, she couldn’t tell how long, but it certainly felt like at least minutes.  After they had dragged her for some good time, they just.  

…Stopped.

 … 

Stopped and dropped her and then just walked away without saying a word without untying her, or taking off her gag or blindoff or anything!  They had just dumped her in the middle or who knows where, in a state where fending for herself and surviving would be very hard and just left!  Her own parents, even other people she had known had just left her for dead, and, and…And at this moment, she stopped, she couldn’t bear to continue the story, and the police didn’t think they should force her.  

They said they would get the rest from her later, but in the end, they never did.  At least, she would never tell the rest of the story to the cops, that is.  When the cops realized they never were going to get rest, or maybe they thought the girl just couldn’t remember it or couldn’t speak the rest.  

They asked for her name once again, because she had never answered it when she was first asked.  And once again, she was silent, until she finally said that she didn’t remember her name.  They asked her again, saying it would be really hard to track down her parents and those other people and bring them to justice if they didn’t have a name.  And at this, the girl just put her hands to head and it shook violently.  Yelling that she didn't remember her name, or her parents or anyone!  That she was really trying to remember, but it felt like there was a gaping black hole in her head whenever she tried to remember that only threatened to engulf her more she thought about it, and that, it hurt so much to think about it.  And.  And.  A n d dd ddd….. anddd…  I–I…  ….they..

The police finally stopped asking about it, because the child was in clear distress.  And every time after they asked her again about this, they would get a similar, to the same response.  So, due to her not having a name, the Police of that station decided they should come up with one, thinking it must be terrible to not have a name.  And they ended up spit-balling what her name should be for months.  None of the officers there had been the best at names.

Yes.  The girl did end up spending months living in that town.  Living with multiple different policemen and women.

Usually, she would have been taken where kids like her usually are taken to, when something like this happens.  But due to  just how unusual her story and the state of her was, and just how small and in the middle of nowhere in a pretty small community, this police station was, they decided to just house her, with them, until further notice.  

After months and months (about 8 or so months) of this going on, and being bounced between policed offers, and being asked questions about what happened, they decided they couldn’t really get any more information than they already had from her and that no one around there could take her, and so decided it was time she left for foster care.

They unfortunately couldn’t find more permanent housing for her, though they had tried, part of the reason why she stayed in that town for so long, and that was all they could really do in the end.  On her papers they gave to the adoption centers and her Foster Care Home, the police officers of the Dayton Police Precinct (Precinct, because they were the main, and only station of the very small town of Dayton, Arizona) that the girl had found herself in, the name they had come up with about 1 month after she was found, having been called usually child, girl, the girl, Miss, kid, kiddo, or Red until she got her official name; “Scarlet Hood” was put.  

She was named thus, after the striking red hoodie she was found wearing, and her stunning long, past her butt, wavy scarlet hair that she had.  Like what was said, the cops there weren’t the most creative with names, but hey, at least this one was quite pretty and striking, just like the young girl was.  

Though..

…In the future, her name and her hoodie and her hair, wouldn’t be the only reds and fiery colors she would come to be associated with.

Elevating Shonen Action: Hunter x Hunter's Genre-Blending Approach

Hello everyone, and welcome back to Why It Works! With the world still stuck in perpetual lockdown, I’ve been continuing my recent rewatch of Hunter x Hunter and finding new elements of interest all throughout its winding adventures. Recently, I watched through the arc that essentially serves as the series’ current midpoint, Yorknew City. There, Kurapika works to hunt down the assassins who murdered his tribe, while Gon and Killua attempt to secure a copy of the rare game Greed Island, all in the context of a massive mafia auction involving hundreds of armed guards and dangerous Nen users. It’s a thrilling arc by all counts, and it’s also the first arc to exemplify one of Hunter x Hunter’s greatest strengths: its ability to rise above the expectations of shonen action and embrace the narrative tricks and stylistic appeal of a wide variety of genres.

Hunter x Hunter is far from alone in its genre-blending appeal, even among major shonen properties. To be frank, the base structure of “we wander around fighting progressively harder enemies, perhaps in the service of some larger enemy-fighting organization” gets stale after the first few times you experience it. Stories that lack a sense of larger structure and purpose have a tendency to feel dramatically unsatisfying or lacking in momentum — and while shonen action provides a natural template for things like gaining powers or making new friends, it doesn’t inherently lend itself to a clean, self-contained narrative structure.

Because of this, many of the best shonen properties draw heavily from other genres, supplementing their inherent action appeal with stylistic flair, structural cohesion, and dramatic hooks imported from other fields. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure draws heavily on horror films from throughout history, building episodes and full arcs out of concepts like “what if Child’s Play was a Stand battle” or “what if The Night of the Hunter was a Stand battle.” Meanwhile, One Piece consistently captures the unique thrill of swashbuckling adventure films, embracing both their irreverent comedy and a sense of excitement borne from pure travel and discovery, even in the absence of any outright battles. Through combining genres, these properties arrive at styles that feel exciting and unique, as the base appeal of high-stakes battles is multiplied by the layered tension of a great thriller or the disorientation of an effective horror film.

  In Yorknew City’s case, Yoshihiro Togashi draws heavily on noir and crime dramas, crafting an arc that is full of “shonen characters,” but is structurally much closer to a book-length thriller. Kurapika, who has been defined by his calculating nature and slow-burning anger from the start, here adopts the role of a classic noir detective: a cold man haunted by old demons, hungry for vengeance, and likely to destroy himself along the way. Meanwhile, the assassins he faces, known as the Spiders, form a perfect crime syndicate counterpoint: a loose alliance of dangerous and unstable warriors, plagued by their own suspicions of sabotage and mistrust.

Between Kurapika and his friends, the encroaching Spiders, and the actual mafia families conducting the formal auction, Yorknew City feels ambitious and sprawling, yet also urgent and propulsive. The inherent focus offered by central characters like Kurapika and Gon actually helps clarify the potential disorientation of a story with so many factions, and the active flow of information across the various groups gives the story a clear sense of cause and effect. In fact, that flow of information — of both knowledge and trust — is crucial to Yorknew City, and a big part of what makes it “feel” like a crime drama.

  Every major faction in Yorknew City is essentially doing their own detective work and hoping to identify their enemies before they are identified in turn. Kurapika wants to know where and who the Spiders are, as well as any of their powers or weaknesses. In keeping with this focus, Kurapika’s powers are centered around being a detective, as he has developed the ability to tell truth from lies and interrogate opponents while keeping them physically detained. Meanwhile, the Spiders want to know if they have a mole, if they’re being followed, and ultimately, Kurapika’s own identity. And even the mafia’s greatest power is defined as information gathering, through the mafia princess Neon’s ability to write cryptic but accurate fortunes for anyone she chooses.

The whole scenario works because the Spiders are essentially an unbeatable foe. Even if all the main characters got together and teamed up, they couldn’t possibly overcome the Spiders' physical advantages. Because of this hanging threat of unquestionable death, concealing information becomes key, and protecting your identity most crucial of all. Attempting to overcome an unbeatable foe through misdirection and cleverness is something Hunter x Hunter has embraced throughout all of its arcs — but here, that technique is applied to a city-crossing, multifactional game of cat and mouse, rather than just one individual battle.

  The end result is an arc that is able to elevate its inherently exciting fights with an incredible degree of tension and larger narrative consequence, creating a story that feels like a white-knuckle standoff from start to finish. Rather than drawing focus from the action scenes and central characters, Yorknew’s mafia drama pretensions actually let the story expand its dramatic reach and appeal to us in new ways, offering an arc with the snappy, interlocking pieces and consistent tension of a great crime film, as well as the creative fights and rich characters it’s been offering all along. Combining these genres doesn’t diminish any of them — it simply compliments the strengths of one with the strengths of another, replacing the structural simplicity of a shonen tournament with the narrative intricacy and exciting twists of a crime drama, but keeping all the fun of the actual shonen fights.

Ultimately, Yorknew City is great because Togashi himself clearly reads and watches a broad array of media, and draws ideas from a variety of places in order to enrich his own work. If you only read or watch one kind of story, the stories you yourself imagine are probably going to take roughly that same shape, and likely not offer much to people who’ve already read plenty of that kind of story. It is by drawing broadly that storytellers expand their horizons and artistic potential, allowing them to craft works that fuse genres in compelling new ways, letting the strengths of one structure compliment the strengths of another, and drawing unique ideas from wherever you find them.

Togashi is a master of drawing broadly, and the effectiveness of the Yorknew City arc is a testament to its importance as an artistic tool. im stuck in quarantine and need food so i have a question for you: the og creator went mia a while ago and you said you lost inspo for it so can we have a rundown of everything you two had planned? like a list of events (detailed or not its your choice) of the story you two made? like how the reveal happened? how did gon ask out killua? how did the pitou fiasco work out? things like that? (also i hope you stay healthy🥺)

I assume you’re talking about Miraculous x Hunter XD And yeah I can share some stuff!

I don’t have much on the whole Pitou thing for some reason?? All I remember was that Kite was the ‘Peacock’ in this au and was killed when Pitou (a doctor) became akumatized. (You can read more about Pitou here)

I also remember that Killua goes to a far away college on his parents request after high school and it was /torture/ for Gon and Killua at the time since they were already dating and knew each other’s superhero personas. But sometimes Gon would surprise visit Killua as Ladybug and that made them both super happy~

They end up marrying super young and getting a house and adopting a kid who they raise and train as a superhero! ^-^

Also, I saved a bunch of random convos between me and emthim from years ago for writing reference (all credit goes to @emthimofnight for the miraculous ladybug au and any ideas discussed here by the way), and I found two bits specifically about the confession and the reveal:

CONFESSION:

And how Gon would tell him...Hm, I feel like...Gon would be sitting with Killua at lunch one day and just be staring at Killua eating his chocolate pudding and Killua would take notice and look up like, "What? Do I haf somefing on my fashe?" he'd say with his spoon still in his mouth.

Gon would just fucking slap his hands on the table and lean forward across into Killua's face like, "Will you go on a date with me?!" really loudly with his face all red and his eyes all serious and everyone would look over like holy fuck and Killua's eyes would be so wide like his heart had stopped and the spoon would fall out of his mouth like, "..W..What did you say...?”

Killua would just turn such a dark red and flinch away a little,  "S-Stupid--Do you even know what you are asking for?? I'm not some dumb girl about to be taken on a pity date!!!"

"I know! It's not a pity date at all! I want to go on a REAL date, Killua!"

Queue disbelief and confusion and embarrassment realizing everyone is looking XD

Of course he'd say yes, but only after dragging Gon away so no one would see

I can totally see him picking Killua up around the middle and swinging him around in a circle, laughing

Gon's grin would be infectious, Killua wouldn't be able to stop smiling either, though after Gon scooped him up to spin him around Killua would squawk indignantly telling Gon to put him down. He'd still have laughter in his voice and be smiling though~

REVEAL

Junior year is a rush for the both of them, Kurapika is off at college and Leorio is more busy than ever. Chat Noir and Ladybug have their hands full, it feels like there is an akuma every other day! Killua's feelings for Gon are more torturous than ever, especially considering how often he catches Gon staring at him. What's up with that??

Gon is falling in love. Or, rather, realizing he's been in love all along. It's becoming too much to bear.

Killua and Gon are so stoked for the summer! Making big plans, thinking of maybe taking a brief vacation (lord knows they both need one), both being very excited as their junior year starts to come to a close. On the final week of junior year, Gon just slams his hands on the lunch table and asks Killua on a date in front of everyone (as talked about before).

Killua has to drag him aside to make sure he's not joking. Once he realizes he isn't, he happily accepts!! The two of them then go on a date to the carnival the first week of summer, have their first kiss, and officially start dating.

Everyone collectively agrees /finally./

Mid summer, the fight with Pitou happens, Killua discovers Gon is Ladybug and FREAKS OUT AND LIKE?? DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO LIKE AJDJSJDJSJDNCJDJS I FOUND OUT WHEN HE WAS UNCONSCIOUS OH MY GOD WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO????  WOULD HE WANT TO KNOW???? WOULD HE BE MAD I NEVER TOLD HIM???

A few weeks later, the guilt gets to him and he decides to tell Gon one night as he visits as Chat Noir. Gon was??? Super confused at first like he had steam coming out of his ears like what........ Wait..... Killua is...? Then....

....oh.

The realization would hit him and he'd just be so happy?? Like WOW I'M SO GLAD IT'S YOU NO WONDER I LOVED BOTH SIDES OF YOU

AND KILLUA WOULD BE LIKE WHAT?!! YOU HAD A CRUSH ON ME--ER, CHAT?? OH MY GOD OH MY GOD WAIT THAT'S RIGHT SINCE YOU ARE LADYBUG---ohmygod

They then begin their adventures of Chat Noir and Ladybug, the super boyfriends (the whole public was ecstatic to find out their favorite heroes were dating).

When the summer was over, senior year begins, by then their puns and inside jokes are rly intense and they are a ~flawless~ team. They had the whole summer to get used to it all. ;) Gon turns 18 at the start of the first semester, Killua is a great boyfriend on his birthday.

There is No Turning Back Anymore, Ch3/15:

A bit of a time skip happens, and we get a first look at an older, 16-ish (not super far off from being 17 really probably) Scarlet (Dipper is also around the same age too).

Tossed Away (Like Trash) Chapter Summary:

Scarlet finds something that sends her spiraling.

Actual chapter under the cut as (almost) always.

Scarlet had been living in her new home now for 4 years.  The longest she had stayed in one place ever since she was put into foster care.  Her and her brother were now 16 years old.  Just turned one a month ago.

She should be happy.  Should.  But she wasn’t.  She was far from it.  For she had found something in her parents’ rooms she hoped to never find.  Files that caused her to silently fume in her room that she had run back to after reading them (and putting them back the best she could, so her parents didn’t know she read them), thinking about them.  Files that talked about putting her up for adaptation once again.  

She didn’t even think that was possible anymore.  This wasn’t just a foster home, but supposedly her and her brother’s permanent home.  But, somehow, maybe due to her long, not-so-good history in foster care and even her history before that, they had figured out a way to get her put up for adoption once again.  To put her back in the Homes.  

How could they do this to her?!  Put her back in the Homes, to be carted from 1 to the next, probably until she was finally legal to be by herself, which wasn’t even that far off, just a couple years.  And when that did happen they would just kick her to the cubs to fend for herself.  Like she was nothing.  Like trash. 

Seriously though!  How could they?!  How could they?!?  She was already 16!  No one would want to adopt her at this age.  NO ONE!

Scarlet was just positively seething thinking about this.  Seething so much, you would think her fiery red hair was actually made out of fire.

 ……However that wasn’t the biggest reason why she was upset. No, the biggest reason why she was upset–was that Dipper’s name wasn’t anywhere in the files with hers.  Not even his “real name”, which would make more sense to show up in the files than the nickname she came up with after seeing his birthmark on his forehead (though that isn’t actually the real reason she started calling him that).

 ….................

 Hmph.  Real name.  How funny.  

Scarlet thought darkly for a split second, before sinking back into her fuming thoughts once again.

Why would they just want to send her back and not Dipper?

Was she not good enough?

Did they love him more than her?

Did they just hate her?

How could they love someone like Dipper more than her!

HER!!!!???

After thinking very jealous and self-hating thoughts for awhile, she calmed down, & came to realize she was being cruel and unfair to Dipper.

That she was being very selfish.

It wasn’t Dipper’s fault after all, that it looked like they wanted to keep him and not her.

It was her parents–no, it was hers–herparentshers–NO!!!  It was HERPARENTS’ FAULT!!  Just theirs’!  Yes, just them, and no else’s.  Certainly not her.  Nope.

After that barrage of unwanted thoughts, thank you very much.  Scarlet had another realization, and a horrifying one at that.  

And that was, if they were to send her away, they would be separated, since it would be just her, and not Dipper too.  And she didn’t want that.  No, not at all.

She loved and needed him far too much for that.

Dipper was her K-adorable brother after all.  

Even if they weren’t related by blood, they had been adopted together, and before they were adopted, in the foster home (though they weren’t together in the foster home very long before they were actually adopted.  A month, maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less at most probably.  However, in that short amount of time, they had gotten to know each other well.   It was like they had known each other forever), and before that even, they had been close as well.  Closer than even Dipper knows.  No matter what.  They were still siblings!  They still loved each other.  They still needed each other.

So I decided to post this earlier after all, lol.

So honestly, just keep on excepting a new chapter every week or 2, with it sometimes being earlier or later (though, with how things have been going, earlier seems more likely for me), because even with the whole fic basically done, I still can't seem to stick a schedule, lol.

Anyways.  This chapter, is pretty important for some of (not all) of Scarlet's motives and how she acts around certain people for the rest of the fic.  So a pretty important chapter despite not being the longest chapter out there.

There is No Turning Back Anymore, Prologue Pt. 2. Ch2/15:

Just going to pretty much copy and paste some of the stuff I said in the AN’s of this chapter on AO3 (not all of it though):

But just I thought where the last chapter was a good place to that one, I also thought where I ended this chapter was a good place to it too.

Luckily, this should be one of the shortest chapters in this series, most chapters from here on out, should be longer.

Prologue Pt. 2: Her Knight; Her Saviour Chapter Summary:

More about Scarlet's childhood.

...It isn't very happy.

The chapter itself, once again, will be under the cut.  :)

The young girl of 6, now newly named Scarlet would then be moved from one Foster Home to the next.  Too weird some would say.  A liar others would say.  Too brutal and destructive.  Not a team player.  Creepy.  Cruel.  Just a whole myriad of reasons why they couldn’t keep her really.  Never-ending.

One of the bigger reasons (though not the only one) for why though, is they found all her “Knight” talk disturbing and unsettling.  Some even thought it sounded demonic.  Or the more pro-nat people thought it was some kind of “horrible” preter that saved her.  These kinds of foster parents wanted her gone mostly out of fear and because they thought she was a bad influence for the other kids.

Really though, these foster homes just had so much trouble dealing with her and her Knight talk.

She was always just going on and on about her monstrous, shadow-y saviour; all the time.

It was Knight this, Knight that.  Her hero.  Her saviour.  How much she wanted him to come back to save her.  Besides the foster parents who thought her Knight sounded demonic or were pro-nat, others saw her Knight in different ways.

The more cruel foster parents who heard about her “Knight”, would then say he was fake or she was making up stuff about her rescuer.  

The kinder ones who heard about her “Knight” would say, while he indeed saved her, and hence, she wasn’t wrong to call him her Knight, that he was also probably just a person, paranatural or not, and she shouldn’t expect him to save her again.  He had his own life, and he shouldn’t be expected to always be there for her, to always be there to save her.  Some of her foster parents would even go as far to say that she shouldn’t expect anyone to save her, but herself.  You can say, those were the more realistic of her foster parents, or maybe, the more cynical.

In the end though, despite their different views on her Knight, they all got rid of her the same.

Just like they always did.

Be it due to the Knight or not.  

Scarlet was always tossed aside and carted to another foster home, and this would keep happening, for six long years, until she was twelve, until a deal was made.
