yeah exactly! it’s wild to claim that “ace” as a label has the same visibility as labels pertaining to race or being LGBT when asexuality as a concept was created within these communities in a way that race & “homosexuality” etc. certainly weren’t. all of those views do exist & they are harmful (& yeah, more often than not the product of misogyny) but they’re not codified into any particular subject position in the way that race etc. is

I'm willing to be cautiously optimistic about Origins on Cleopatra, until I play it at least lmao because, right now, it is during the time when she's on the run. But more importantly, the main character's wife refers to her repeatedly as the Queen, Pharoah, etc. It could be very interesting if they do spin it like, she was legit, the Romans did their Roman thing and ALSO the Templars wrote this part of history. But I also think people being wary because AGAIN it looks this way is fair. Context

For people who might not know about her, there’s not a single shred of historical evidence that Lucretia Borgia was anything except an ordinary Italian noblewoman who happened to be born into a family everyone hated.

the easy answer'd be that you're the guy who rescues the protagonist's dog and runs a rescue shelter nursing injuried animals back to health, or you're a model the photographer protagonist works with who's always annoyed and amused he consistently gets cast as the all american boy. but no. no i will not accept this! you are instead, the protagonist's best friend since childhood, the one who always had their back. they constantly get themselves into scrapes and you're always pulling them out.

This is going to sound weird but with Nadia's sleeping and then this (because I felt similarly), I got a real...curse of Sleeping Beauty vibe. Like, a lot of the town has memories gone of their time there, it all seems tied to a particular place. Like I don't think that's what it is, exactly. But with everything happening at a masquerade on top of it, they're doing a good job of evoking fairy tales, if you will.
