I don’t know if I will ever make more than one post on here, so not bothering with an avatar or anything like that. I just needed to get this out.

I’ve always liked the idea of skirts. I used to joke that the Scotts had the right idea with the kilt, and that guys should be the ones to wear them, anatomically speaking. Plus, why should women have a monopoly on cuteness? Guys should be able to feel cute sometimes. Then one day, on a whim, I tried on one of my partner’s skirts. Not for very long, I am bigger than her, I didn’t want to stretch the elastic. But it confirmed what I had thought for a while, I did like skirts.

I ordered one of my own on amazon a little while after. Hid it from my partner of course, didn’t want to get embarrassed. It was a nice royal blue one, mid length, going down to just beyond my knees. I liked it. I liked the way it felt to be in it, the way it moved (tumblr jokes are real, skirt really do go swoosh). I continued to wear it sometimes, when I knew I was alone in the house and was going to be alone for a good few hours. I’d still panic every time I thought I heard the door of course. Didn’t want anyone to know, you know? Im a guy after all, it would be too strange to have to try to explain why I was in a skirt. I love my partner so much, I don’t think she would react badly or judge me, but she would ask what it meant. I wasn’t ready for that. Still aren’t. Especially not now.

Time went on. I’d wear my skirt sometimes when I wanted to feel more feminine, I guess? I have black thermal leggings for the winter, so I started wearing those with it, made my legs look better, more like they belonged in a skirt. I’m a pretty hairy guy as far as my legs are concerned, the leggings hid that, made it look better. I didn’t wear it all the time, mind you. Some days I’d be alone and the mood wouldn’t strike me at all. Others I’d want to put it on the instant I was alone. I’m wearing it now as I type this, amongst other things.

I don’t know what made me try it that particular day, but I tried on one of her bra’s. It barely fit, was way too tight. I stuffed the cups with socks and put on one of her woolly jumpers that would fit me and still be a little baggy. It didn’t look right, I was reminded of when a family member had gone to one of my fancy dress birthday parties as a kid as “Mrs. Doubtfire”. I was clearly just a guy in women’s clothing. I took it off pretty quickly.

But the image of what I looked like from the neck down, even with the obvious fake breasts, broader shoulders, lack of hips, etc. It stuck with me. I’ve played cross genders in games and D&D before. I’ve had daydreams of being a shapeshifter, I would shift into a woman for the day, get dressed up. Experience it. I started having those daydreams more and more.

I got sad at times, family noticed, but I said I was fine, stressed from work or just down in the dumps and not sure why. I knew why. I was thinking about those daydreams and the reality of that “guy in unconvincing drag” look that had greeted me in the mirror.

I like being a man, I really do. There is a lot of stuff about masculinity that is great. But that voice in my head saying “yeah, but wouldn’t it be cool to be a girl sometimes too?” - that was getting harder to ignore.

A couple of weeks ago, I said fuck it. The only way to address these thoughts is to try it out again, but go all in this time. I ordered a bra that would fit me (plus some bean bags to fill out the cups more believably and add some weight to them), a roll neck jumper from the women’s section (roll neck to hide my Adam’s apple, its not very noticeable to start with, but wanted to do it anyway. It also had a vertical pattern to it, which I read online helped reduce the look of broad shoulders) some real tights (black ones that would still hide my leg hair) and even a wig. The wig’s hair went down past the shoulders to the chest, it had a fringe and would hide a lot of my face, including my sideburns as long as I didn’t style it differently. Got it delivered to the local post office instead of the house so my partner wouldn’t know. I even ordered up one of those big bows for the back of your hair, royal blue to match the skirt. I’ve seen those are in fashion right now, and I’ve always thought they were really cute.

I’ve tried on the full outfit twice now. The second time is today, I’m wearing it now. I need to wear a mask to hide my beard, its not very long, but I’ve had it for so many years now that my family would question what was up if I suddenly shaved. Luckily we still had some in stock from the pandemic. Its not perfect, but the wig, the mask and the roll neck of the jumper do a decent enough job hiding it.

I still don’t really know how I feel about all this. This outfit is a lot better at hiding my manly traits, but they are still there. I still kinda just feel like a guy in drag. But I’ve done it more than once now. And both times I’ve kept it on for a while. not as long as some times when I’ve just had the skirt on, but I haven’t immediately wanted to strip it all off either. I think I like it, at least when I can ignore the manly stuff. Having long hair sure is interesting, I like the look of it, and playing with it a bit. But I didn’t realise how much it can get in the way! Like in the peripheral vision, especially when I look down even slightly. Being like this, it feels good, but at the same time I’ve got a constant underlying feeling of fear too.

Where I’m at now, I really don’t know what all this means. Like I said before, I enjoy being a man. I’ve been one for 30 years, you would’ve thought I would be settled into the role by now. For the most part, I am. But, clearly from what I’ve just rambled on about above, there is also a part of me that wants to be feminine to explore that more. A part that has been growing for a couple of years now, and one that I finally decided to at least try to address pretty recently. Next step I guess is to bite the bullet and shave, get a proper look at me like this without needing to resort to covering up with a mask.

Being on tumblr and the internet in general has let me see how people can see gender as something other than the binary “man and woman” that I was taught growing up. Am I trans? I honestly don’t know. How trans people are treated by the world right now terrifies me. The thought of making a change to my body that is permanent is pretty damn scary too. Like I said before, I’m in my 30s now, and this feeling coming to the forefront of my mind is pretty new. Shouldn’t this have been something that came up in my 20s? In general, I love my life, would acting on this feeling further just make take that good life away? Maybe I’m not trans, but what does that make me? A cross dresser? Non-Binary? Something else? Am I just cosplaying at being a woman? Does it matter?

I don’t know. I don’t know about any of this. But I’ve got it written out, I’ve told someone, even if its just screaming out into the void. I’m not ready to let my partner in on this yet. Not when I don’t even really understand what this is. Maybe someday, who knows.

What does this all mean? What am I? Never have been that good at soul searching. Guess its time to get better at that.

i woke up and quickly got ready. today i had two midterms in biology. how exciting. truthfully with me being sick i wasn’t able to study much as i just felt dead for a whole week, so i decided to wake up early and go revise in the library.

it wasn’t too cold this morning as spring was approaching so i finally chose to wear a t shirt and some baggy blue jeans. i silently scurried out of my dorm as to not disturb my roommate who was still in dreamland.

after 2 hours in the library, it was finally time to take my test and i did not feel prepared at all. 1.5 hours passed by and the bell rang signaling that the test was finally over. it was well past 13:00 pm and i was so hungry. i quickly paced down the hallway but when i got down to the entrance, it was pouring rain outside. great.

for one: i had no umbrella in hand, and for two: it started getting cold and i had no jacket either. at this point my only choice was to run back to my dorm but before i could take a step outside, a hand pulled me inside again. huh ?

“it’s too cold, you’ll catch a cold again” i turned around, my face meeting with none other than kim gyuvin’s face. “oh it’s you!” i exclaimed in surprise.

“here” gyuvin dropped his backpack on the floor and began to take his hoodie off, “you can have my hoodie” and before another word could leave my mouth, he motioned his head left and right and pointed his palm at me, “do not worry! i am wearing a thermal shirt underneath so i have come prepared for the weather AND i brought an umbrella too!” i smiled softly, gently taking his hoodie and thanking him as i put it on. it was warm and had a baggy fit on me.

gyuvin opened the umbrella and we took off under the rain, our bodies compressed under the umbrella as to not get a single drop on us. “what brings you in the biology building by the way?” i asked him, wondering since his major’s building was on the other side of campus. “oh! uuhh.. my friend left his pencil case so i went to drop it off.. yeah!” he smiled. “i see, well we just had an exam and i’m exhausted ugh, i have another one in the afternoon but at least it’s online” i sighed, a sigh of exhaustion. silence and rain fills the conversation for a minute.. “are you hungry? let’s go and grab hot pot” gyuvin suggests and i immediately agree.

“sooo.. when are you taking the test” gyuvin asks, we headed out the restaurant and began to mindlessly walk around the streets near campus. “ah, you’re right” i chuckled, “i totally forgot about it haha” i was having so much fun just hanging around with him that it only hit me now that i have yet another test to take. “i should head back to my dorm” i replied looking down at my feet. i felt gyuvin’s gaze laying on mine and i suddenly started getting nervous. but why ?

Sunday, April 16th, 2023 (15:51) Close-up focus on the comic cover and stamp corner box illustrations, revealing late-'90s stylistic sensibilities in detail.  The identities of the artists responsible have since been lost to the wasteland sands of time, as they were individually problematic to deal with, and thus elicited further utilisation of the Swear Jar™...
