Let's talk about The Amelia Project (@ameliapodcast ) from Imploding Fictions--which is a delightful, ridiculous comedy/drama that's been putting smiles on faces since 2017. Have you ever just wanted to start over? Chuck everything and just...馃挩 disappear馃挩? I mean, I certainly have. But what if you were *really* serious, or there was no other way out? Then you'd call The Amelia Project. But they won't fake the death of just anyone, oh no! You need to have a good story. The Interviewer won't help you unless you've got a novel reason to disappear, or a creative way you want to go--and he absolutely can't work without some Maltesers and a cup of cocoa from Les Deux Magots. Together with the rest of the Amelia team, they'll help you get away from your position as a world famous funny man, cult leader, entomologists with a top secret project, or even the Loche Ness Monster. Family friendly in the silly comedy and fun aspects, but ultimately they are faking people's deaths. Off screen, but there is discussion of corpses and the ways you'd use them to do that, and violent acts. So discretion, as always, is best. So grab your finest candy and cocoa, and maybe a glass of champagne, because you've reached The Amelia Project. If you enjoy MarsCorps, We Fix Space Junk, StarTripper!!, or Forgive Me--who they recently did a cross over with--than The Amelia Project is for you.

I am getting it done this week! Another review for another quick, family-friendly pod! New in 2020, Absolutely No Adventures. Sig was born under all the magic portents you can think of, seventh son of a seventh son, born of two worlds, a weird birthmark on his shoulder, one moon was full and another eclipsed, etc...and he has "the true sight". Which comes in handy when every. single. time. something goes wrong people come by and get all chosen one-y at him. He's tired of it. He's tired of being offered positions at poorly managed magic schools, tired of people showing up to tell him to take a magic sword and stab someone, etc. All he wants to do is run his bakery, Signature Eats, where he's making the best cakes, pies, cookies you can eat. So he's hung a sign, ABSOLUTELY NO ADVENTURES. He's not sure it's working, but it's there, for the record. Luckily, not only is true sight super helpful with this, he's also super adept at talking people out of things, and finding loopholes in prophecies. So together with his baking assistant, Happiness Escapes All Who Behold His Terrible Visage, or "Happy" for short, they're just trying to learn new recipes and run a successful small business, but people with quests just keep getting in the way. Episodes are relatively short, around 15 minutes each, but much like a good pie, they are cram jammed full of delightful humor, world building, and characters. If you like, Alba Salix, The Axe and Crown, Magus Elgar, Makeshift Stories, or you know enjoy fantasy lands and have a single trace of joy in your soul (and maybe even if you don't), than you need to listen to Absolutely No Adventures!

The Orbiting Human Circus of the Air ( @orbitinghumancircus ) from Nightvale presents and @wnycstudios is a sweet, kid-friendly, magical realism story about Julian, the janitor at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Julian has crippling anxiety, shyness, and fear of people, but his imagination is AMAZING, and of course... there's the unusual variety-style radio show broadcasting live from the top of the Tower that he evesdrops on... From singing crickets, to musical saws, to a sweet Christmas special you might play for years to come. You will be charmed by The Orbiting Human Circus. Gather the family around the old transistor radio (or you know fancy speaker system) with a cup of cocoa. It's time to listen to the show!

Back in 2017, Night Vale Presents, the production company behind @nightvaleofficial and many other great podcasts, brought us It Makes A Sound @itmakesasound , and it was magical. Deirdra Gardner returns to her childhood home in the half abandon golf course community of Rosemary Hills to clean out the attic of her childhood home and she finds something, a massive wollop of nostalgia, a cassette tape of Wim Faros (?), her middle school crush, from the concert he gave in the community club house for Tricia Elwood's birthday party. Presented as a podcast, Deirdra takes us on a trip down memory lane, as she relives her deep, cringe worthy (as all deep middle school crushes are) middle school crush on Wim, and her search for *the music*...and gosh darn it, a working cassette tape player. I'm torn between telling you everything and wanting you to discover for yourself. But suffice it to say, it's more than just a reminiscence, it's a sweet story of music, memory, and some loud ass peacocks. Season 1 was great! And then nothing. I join the patreon to fund the soundtrack, because earworms are real! Got through that, and still no season 2. 馃ズ Like many middle school crushes/ #ghostpod crushes things seemed to have gone south. Still nothing... Then finally at the beginning of this year, they announced that they had had to go into independent production, and that had caused a delay, but they were making season 2! So one day soon, we can all together continue to "Remember Wim Faros!"
