OC Tag Game
tagged by @raven-of-domain-kwaad - thank you, Raven! 💚💜
tagging @teetertottertales and whoever else wants to do this! (bc most of who I'd have tagged are tagged already haha)
I'll be sticking to SWTOR characters for this, just for consistency
Favorite OC: Rediaex'aere'zortiea
This was a difficult one, but I think I've got to go with Xaerez. I've really enjoyed developing him over the last few years, and I always enjoy writing fics for him, answering asks, or just doing Certified Oliver Ramblings about him. The way duty contradicts morals for them (A Lot) makes them a lot of fun; I always enjoy thinking "ok, this is what he Wants to do, but this is what he's Going to do" when it comes to the various situations I shove them into whether they Want those situations or not.
Newest OC: Fower Vek
I believe it's Fower ("Flower"), from the Rediscovery Era crew! Like Farsc, she's a professor - they worked together at a university on Coruscant, so that's how Farsc ended up going to her to get her on the crew and in on a little grand theft auto to steal the Star Hopper from a museum oops. She's an astronomer and cartographer, so makes sure the crew doesn't get lost while they search for where the Alliance disappeared to all those thousands of years ago. I like to think she's an ancestor to Lina and Varrich.
Oldest OC: Synnda V'ehsz
I have many OCs much older than Synnda, but in keeping it to SWTOR, he was my very first. ...Probably not surprising, considering my legacy name haha - although he was named after my legacy, instead of the other way around. I did (and still kinda do) self-project a lot onto him, but I've developed him a lot over the years and he's very dear to me. I've got a Synnda clone on just about every server if that says anything - including 2 versions of him on Star Forge alone.
Meanest OC: Ehna'dissen
Ehna, hands down. (Commander!Varrich comes in close, however) She's an interrogator, and enjoys holding power over others. It's because of her that Xaerez's Castellan restraints get re-triggered. Because of her Synnda eventually loses his life. Because of her that the Cadera siblings nearly tear each other apart as she watched on. She's absolutely horrible, she knows she's horrible, and she thinks it's all just a fun game that she's winning.
Softest OC: Parrakh Djal
He just wants to be a healer, help others when he can. His life had an unfortunate start, but he finds his place as one of Synnda's students.
Most Aloof/Standoffish OC: Anaehr Cadera
The youngest of Terrin and Torian's kids, Anaehr was already distant from his older siblings who were less than a year apart. He distances himself from his family as he grows jealous and angry of his siblings' success, makes terrible mistakes for it, but stands his ground and refuses to feel guilt for the actions that make him Dar'manda. He doesn't let anyone get close to him; his anger becomes numbness, and he becomes a cold and hateful man.
Dumbest (Affectionate) OC: Jen Sept
My Voidhound. Need I say more? ajksl;djaskld Jen is. A lot. He can walk into a trap, know he's walking into a trap, and continue to walk in with zero plan anyway. It's....a good thing he has Risha and Kitty to steer him in the right direction, or this cat man probably would have gotten himself killed a long time ago.
Smartest OC: Kitty
While Synnda and Qizulth are both extremely intelligent, their knowledge is a lot more limited to their interests. Kitty? He learned to survive during over a decade on the run after sneaking out of the academy on Korriban. Medicine, cultures, languages, mechanics, history--chances are if you ask him something, he can at the very least point you in the direction of getting the right answer even if he doesn't know it himself. Good thing, too: Marrying the Voidhound means someone needs to have the braincell or they're doomed.
Horniest OC: Jen Sept
Jen again! He kinda just. Slept his way through the galaxy until he met Kitty. And now that they're together, Jen likes to experiment in bed, and sometimes they'll bring in a third for the night, too. With Jen having so much power in the underworld, it works Mighty Well for getting other bosses to cooperate with him.
OC You'd Bang: Aaz'n Tarnak or Lina Tophrik
I like strong women OKAY don't look at me
OC You'd be Friends With IRL: Kidak Hess
He's just a very gentle person, and the thing about him is he Knows How To Be Friends With Introverts Without Being Overwhelming. He's totally chill to just be in someone's company without needing to be Doing Things. He's happy to talk about his own interests for hours, but at the same time he'd be happy to listen to someone else ramble about theirs while he he just soaked up everything they said. He'd just be really nice company, and the exact type of person I'd love to hang out with.

ok because I'm gonna run out of tag space trying to do it there, I'll put it below the read more! >:D
ok so first of all, it's not uncommon for me to use either SWTOR's or the Star Wars Fantasy Name Generator thingy to get some ideas. once I see some I like, I'll then proceed to dissect the name, piece it together with other sounds/spellings, until I get something I finally like (yes I've taken anywhere from like five minutes to over an hour to figure out a name before)
so!
I also Really like using "V" in names, which might be obvious oops
Varrich Tophrik : I knew I wanted his first and last name to have a similar sound. I also knew I wanted his last name to sound like something that could have been a working class name - so I eventually ended up settling on "phrik" since it's a type of metal in Star Wars. I was kinda like "okay, he's got ancestors who were metalworkers," and the "to" was added over time, partially because just Phrik sounded odd, partially because I wanted it to look like a more believable name to have changed over time. the pronunciation adjusted over time, from "too" to more like... uh, like Toph's name in Avatar, idk how I'd write the pronunciation out. and from there, I played with what letters I could put in front of '-rik' to make a first name, adjusted it to '-rich' but still pronounced with a K, and eventually came up with Varrich
Synnda V'ehsz : I wanted a gentle giant of a Jedi with a name that could be kinda scary to juxtapose his nature, so I used SWTOR's randomizer for a while until something with "sin" in it popped up. then I started playing with the spelling and changing bits. hence Synnda and his boyfriends both usually call him Syn. his last name didn't come until Much later (OG Synnda file only had the first name), when I was trying to figure out what to make my Legacy Name. idk where V'ehsz came from, but as soon as I thought of it I Loved it and it didn't take long to Also make it Synnda's last name
Cathar in general : so, I've done A Lot of worldbuilding on the Cathar ok so like. I started thinking "how would their naming conventions work hmmm" while kinda throwing canon out the window I think. anyway, I liked the idea that their first names tend to be longer, 2+ syllables, and might be a bit tricky to pronounce, with some being almost impossible to pronounce right by species that don't growl as a part of their language. whereas their last names are almost always really short and easy to pronounce, often just 1 syllable - though 2 isn't unheard of, just uncommon. so my Cathar have names like:
-Liolana Vetiko - unusual surname, it's longer than most. but it's easier and faster to pronounce than her first name still -Jendrush Sept -Ve'ren Alvihr - another 2-syl last name, but again it's easy to pronounce. her first name is really hard to pronounce right as it requires a growl where the apostrophe/R is, so she actually goes by her last name instead -Kidak Hess - kEEdahk, with the EE being very quiet growl-y sound -Xandosc Tsill -Lucella Sept -Tetriza Sept
Rediaex'aere'zortiea : so for Chiss in general, I come up with the core name first, then build the rest of the name around it. his name so far holds the record for longest to come up with (ironic, considering it's also longest name I have so far). after playing with letters and spellings for a while, I really liked Xaerez as a core name. then I slowly built the first part of their name, then the last part, kept adjusting letters and sounds, and I knew I wanted a silent letter in there (idk why, I just did). so "zortiea" is actually pronounced "zotay-ah" because I decided on a silent R. ...and then I realized that the name I came up with was too long for the character creator 😂 so I spent another ten minutes or so trimming it down to get what it is now- the name limit was fairly recently expanded by a few spaces, but even with that I would have trimmed my original plan down. I think it was something along the lines of Redaienax'aere'zortenale??? it was something like that I didn't save it anywhere, but I do like the final version better
I'll stop there jakl;sjalkd
why'd you choose your oc's name?

Brief History
Deca was born on the Alliance planet of Odessen to Felix and Lina Iresso. She was taught alongside the Commander's oldest two children, Atten and Araa, and developed a close bond with the pair as a result. She took interest in military from a fairly young age, and could often be found watching sparring sessions or asking veterans their stories.
Though she respects her mother's ability to heal, it was obvious early on that she was going to take more after her father. Both Felix, and her uncle Varrich (former commander of Havoc Squad), made it clear to her that the life of a soldier wasn't all glory and heroics - both of them suffered greatly for their career choice, after all - but her mind was made up. When she was old enough to begin her training, she took to traveling for a few years to learn from various teachers of differing backgrounds.
She started out learning from the former Battlemaster and Wrath, then branched out to other Sith, Jedi, Voss, and more. Her travels led her to Alliance ally Zakuul for just over two years, where she learned from Knights in their newly restructured Academy. Much of her combat style mirrors the Knights as a result.
When she returned home to Odessen, she spent a lot of her spare time not training with the Force Enclave, helping her mother and the others there develop the Alliance's Force doctrine. They became known as the Paladins, and their primary goal was to protect, preserve, archive, and learn. As one of the founding members, Deca quickly became a Grand Paladin - much like a Master among the Jedi, or Darth for the Sith.
She joined Alliance Security, often trusted as part of Atten and Araa's personal guard, and eventually taking over as its leader after Azan's retirement from the position. She maintained a close bond with the siblings - both becoming some of her closest friends, and eventually pursuing a romantic relationship with Atten.
Though she doesn't have visions like others in the Enclave, Deca can still sense something dark on the horizon for the Alliance.

Mermaid AU rambling while I take a break from coloring yeet
My Main Eight + some others are all merfolk, but some of my other OCs are actually human. A few of them are marine biologists and part of a research team studying mermaids because A Lot of humans think they're just nuisances and should be dealt with as such, but the team is pretty sure they're highly intelligent and have cultures and stuff of their own and it's just a language (and location) barrier making communicating with them difficult
Charlie (Chakem) is actually the researcher who discovered that mermaids evolved to fit certain niches in their ecosystems and ones in different areas seem to have different traditions. Some even went through convergent evolution, with sharklike merfolk often hunting with sharks and orcas like members of a pod. He thinks that the only reason they're aggressive with humans was because humans started it, and over the generations merfolk began to instinctively target them to protect themselves.
He's most closely been studying the pair sailors have named "Life" and "Death" - and has found that despite Life missing an arm to make it difficult to pry open the shells of his primary food source of mollusks, Death has learned how to do so for him despite having a vastly different diet.
Charlie's one of the only humans (along with his team) who the pair will let get anywhere close to them, and over his two years of studying them they've even begun bringing him gifts and speaking to him in their form of chirps, clicks, and chitters. Charlie's actually started being able to tell what certain sounds mean due to his time spent around them. The rest of his team consists of father-daughter pair "Kitty" and Jessi, as well as Cody (Kidak).
---------
The type Xaerez is evolved for rough waters and was hunted to near-extinction, so they adapted a potent venom and good camouflage for staying just beneath the surface, making it much harder for humans to kill them.
The survivors tended to start tracking ships, learning that attacking them during bad storms was an easy way to get food. They have four fingers with webbing between all of them, suggesting they don't use their hands for much besides swimming and holding food still while they eat. It's likely they mostly rely on their powerful jaws for catching and tearing into things.
They have thick scales that are almost leather-like.
It's likely they originally adapted to poison their prey, then follow until it eventually died, though changed hunting methods rapidly in response to their environment.
Loners are common due to their extremely endangered status.
----------
Synnda's type is adapted for eating mollusks. They have extremely long, hooked fingers that make tool-usage difficult but are perfect for scooping the meat out of a shell. There's no webbing between the thumb and forefinger, making it easy for them to hold things like clams while prying them open, or to use their thumb to do so without webbing catching. It's not unusual for their thumb to be their longest digit.
They adapted with sandy colors, mostly sticking along the ocean floor in fairly shallow areas - though as they've been hunted they've begun going deeper or into color areas to avoid humans, more recent generations have started developing more fat/darker colors to make colder/deeper waters more survivable.
Their faces are typically much less "human" than a lot of other merfolk, consisting of horns and crests. The reason for this is unknown, though Kitty speculates it may have been a fighting/courting method in earlier generations that younger ones no longer partake use to find partners.
Their mouths and teeth are small, making it nearly impossible for them to eat other types of prey outside their usual mollusks. They're typically peaceful and shy, though can use their powerful tails to cause serious injury to would-be attackers.
Loners are common, though it's also not unusual for one to pair with one or two other merfolk. They seem to avoid large groups and get anxious when too many - human or merfolk - are around.
----------
Qizulth's fills the same niche as vultures, scavenging carcasses to keep the ocean clean. They tend to be small with eel-like tails, allowing them to easily fit into tight spaces, with dark red or pink colors to make them hard to see in deeper areas - their coloring likely being self-defense rather than a hunting method considering they're scavengers.
Their jaws are extremely powerful, able to bite through bones and shells with ease, while their sharp claws make it easy to claw open carcasses. Like Synnda's type, they lack the webbing between their thumb and forefinger. They seem to like making tools, and are typically very curious and intelligent but also cowardly.
They have horn-like cartilage structures, and Kitty believes they're a status thing, with older matriarchs/patriarchs having longer "horns" than others. Those who have been cast out of their circles often have damaged or missing horns, further supporting Kitty's hypothesis.
They like to be with groups, though it's unusual for them to group with types of merfolk outside of their scavenger type. The team is unsure why Life and Death are paired, but attempting to figure it out. Cody thinks it may have been for mutual survival - possibly while they were both captive by humans - but that they developed a bond and didn't wish to separate after escaping or being freed.

More Cathar Stuff
*disclaimer: most of this is headcanon, I'm throwing some of the canon out the window bc Cathar have so little info
because my old post on Cathar is a little outdated now, I made some massive edits to it (linked in anatomy section), and also decided to expand on stuff I've never really talked about
here's a new one on my Cathar Worldbuilding™️ because that name post got me in A Mood and that mood is for cool cat people
Naming Conventions
Cathar typically have long first names, at 2+ syllables in almost all cases, though some may use shortened nicknames. Those names can be difficult to pronounce for species who don't growl as a part of their language; while not all will have growling as part of their first name, it's not an uncommon thing, either. First names can sound harsh, with hard consonants or letter combinations. Some first names include:
-Lucella, shortens to Luci -Liolana, shortens to Leo -Ve'ren -Jendrush, shortens to Jen -Xandosc -Tetriza, shortens to Riza -Nylvash
Their last names are often very short and easy to pronounce, with 1 or maybe 2 syllables. Longer names are often the result of either the slavery their ancestors endured when the Mandalorians invaded their home planet, or that they married into non-Cathar families. Some surnames include:
-Tsill, pronounced "sill" like a windowsill -Sept -Hess -Alvihr, a little long, but only 2-syllable and easy to pronounce -Vetiko, long compared to most, origin unknown but likely related to Mandalorian invasion of Cathar -Jo'll
Cathar usually only have two-part names: a first name and a surname. Only those raised by non-Cathar, or Cathar who picked up on other naming conventions, will have things like middle names or two last names.
Apostrophes, when the name is translated to Basic from Catharese, are used to help signify where a growl is meant to be. Ve'ren Alvihr has a very obvious growl that makes her first name impossible for a non-growling species to pronounce it correctly. Whereas Kidak Hess technically has a growl on the I (pronounced kEEdahk), but because it still sounds accurate enough without the growl, the apostrophe wasn't used to signify its necessity.
Anatomy
Over many generations, Cathar anatomy and color patterns have evolved slightly. They all possess unusually long tails that were believed to be prehensile hundreds, if not thousands, of years or even generations ago. While their tails are a lot more dexterous than other tailed humanoids, most variants' aren't prehensile.
After the Mandalorians invaded Cathar, many of the species scattered to other worlds, and have adapted over time to new environments. Some Cathar have adapted to the point that in a few thousand more years they could become a separate species.
Go here for the different variants and their traits/adaptations
Language
Their language, Catharese, is often difficult for other species to learn how to speak, even if they can learn to understand it.
The reason for this is that growling and hissing are common sounds in Catharese - and for species that can't do that, or only one or the other, their Catharese can end up sounding clunky and in some cases even unintelligible.
There's also two main dialects of Catharese - the commonly used/heard one, then that of the mountain variant, which is almost its own language entirely due to their seclusion.
Fun fact: it's not uncommon for Cathar and Trandoshans to learn one another's languages! Both of them are so used to other species either not wanting to speak their language, or just straight up being unable to that it's become a point of comradery between the two. Their hissing/growling isn't Quite the same, so some things sound a little clunky, but they will often learn each other's and willingly speak the other species' in conversation.
Culture & Tradition
...Varies massively not just between variants, but also individual families. Because their numbers scattered all over the galaxy, many of which due to slavery or escaping it, many families ended up developing their own cultures either unique to them, or inspired by those already around them. Because this section could become impossibly long, I'll just give some examples using my own Cathar OCs.
Xandosc Tsill comes from a wealthy family. For him, family heirlooms are Incredibly Important and treated with utmost care. His vibrosword was passed to him from his father, who got it from his father, and so on - it's been in his family for at least two hundred years. The Tsill family also take incredible pride in their appearances and home, which is a large stretch of land their ancestors stole back on Cathar. Coming-of-age celebrations were important to his family - one, when a kitten began speaking and walking; one, when they turned sixteen; and a final one when they found a partner and became engaged.
Jen, Luci, and Riza Sept come from a line of smugglers. Jen's parents (Luci and Riza's grandparents) weren't interested in the life their relatives had all lived as politicians or law enforcement, so they ran away together. The first Tetriza, Jen's mom and who his daughter Riza was named after, built the Star Hopper herself. Jen ended up with it, and eventually passes it on to his own kids; Hopper is incredibly important to the family, to the point that even thousands of years later, one of his ancestors steals it from the museum a previous relative had donated it to.
Liolana Vetiko, while she was raised by the Jedi so didn't really know what culture or traditions their single mother had, kept the beads and other decorations her mother had braided into her hair before sending her to the Jedi. The decorations are handmade, and they made a habit of making others themself. She ended up passing the craft to her girlfriend, who passed it to the daughter she has later, and from there it becomes a tradition for the family to make their own hair beads and such.

OKAY so
It's 1 in the morning and I should be sleeping but a headcanon punched me in the face and I need to write it down or its not gonna let me sleep
Excuse any errors I'm like half asleep and rambly but here's a Cathar headcanon
Cathar have a tendency to walk on their toes. Some do it more subtly with their heels barely off the ground while others literally end up looking a good few inches taller bc they REALLY walk on their toes
1) it results in Cathar, with or missing their tail, Force-sensitive or no, having incredible balance. Like...good luck pushing one over without being super forceful about it their balance is like scary good
2) they have incredible strength in their calves. Take a Cathar to a gym and have them do those leg lift thingies - they'll lift way more than it looks like they should be able to
3) other species HATE being lent a Cathar's shoes lol. With the way they walk, their shoes wear out in a weird way and are super uncomfortable at best and will make them roll their ankle at worst. Like, if you need to borrow a pair of boots you better hope the Cathar in your group isn't the only one to match your shoe size, it's that bad
Jen walks with his heel just above the ground, so it's not very noticeable with him. He had to borrow a pair of boots from Corso once. Since they weren't worn to how he walked, he ended up complaining the whole time about how uncomfortable they were.
Leo is the opposite: she very obviously walks on her toes. Her girlfriend tried to wear her boots once and about rolled her ankle within two steps.
Kidak walks somewhat between how the other two do.
All three of them hate hate hate when they need new shoes because it means they'll have to wear them in so they're actually comfy with the way they walk

Unexpected Savior
Whumptober 2022
Day 13: Can't Make and Omelet Without Breaking a Few Legs
Fracture | Dislocation | “Are you here to break me out?”
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Characters: Kidak Hess (Jedi Knight - Cathar), Brehl'aa (Sith Warrior - Twi'lek/Zeltron)
Warnings: Aftermath of Torture
would you believe me if I told you Kidak and Brehl were eventually husbands? ;)
-------------
It hadn’t been long. A few days, at most.
That didn’t change the fact he hurt.
Kidak’s eyes shifted to where his cellmate—his comrade, friend—was usually kept. But Tri’kehn wasn’t there. Not now. Ze’d been dragged off, snarling and kicking before one of zeir lekku was yanked in what Kidak could only imagine was painfully, and ze’d quieted as ze was brought away for further interrogation.
The Cathar’s hands drifted up to scrape at the collar embed in the back of his neck and he grimaced. When it was removed—if he ever got the chance for that, at least—it was sure to leave scars. Scars, that the fur would likely never regrow around, or would stick up strangely or be discolored if it did.
The smell of singed fur was something he wasn’t sure he’d ever get out of his nose. It scrunched as he thought of it, as he rubbed a hand along the injured arm to find the culprit of the scent. Why did Sith interrogators have to be oh, so fond of that damn lightning?
Kidak sighed and tipped his head back against the wall of his cell, tried not to imagine what Tri’kehn would be put through this time.
It felt as though hours passed, but he couldn’t be positive. Not when he’d dozed off and it was the approaching tromp of heavy boots that awoke him.
Eyes prying open, he glanced to the door. He was expecting Tri’kehn to be dragged back, likely unconscious but alive.
Instead he flinched back when the figure came in range. Not for any sort of blow dealt. Not at all! But his mind slowly flooded with…what was it? It was muddled, trusting, the voice smooth and attractive as it—he—unlocked the door from the outside. Kidak felt…safe.
And then he was growling, baring his teeth as his tail lashed.
He knew when Zeltron trickery flooded his senses when he felt it. He’d met two others in the past, and it was always that same feeling: They were impossibly charismatic, drew trust far too easily, kept all of a room’s eyes on them for too long.
“Easy, friend,” the stranger purred.
Needless to say, lekku weren’t a trait Kidak was expecting him to have when the door opened.
“What do you want?” the Jedi challenged.
The other seemed taken aback by the hostility. Too used to getting things his way, surely.
The Zeltron (Twi’lek?) let his easy smile fall away, and when he stepped into the room Kidak flinched again. He was imposing—towering above the Jedi, all muscle and sharp teeth, heavy armor and a carefully crafted lightsaber at his hip. If charisma didn’t get him what he wanted, intimidation sure could.
He was Sith, Kidak thought after a few moments. He swallowed and felt his tail involuntarily fluff up.
…And then the Sith sighed and knelt down. His eyes—blue so striking against red skin—were gentle. Kind.
“Master Hess, correct?” Kidak felt himself nodding before he could stop himself. The Sith glanced back at the door; he was silent for a long moment before turning back to the prisoner. “I’m with the SIS.”
And Kidak found himself struggling to breathe, for a moment.
The… The SIS?
This…this Sith, wasn’t actually a Sith?
When he opened his mouth, his voice was small. Barely audible. But it had the Zeltron smiling again. “You’re…here to break us out?” He knew, the logical part of him knew it was damned Zeltron pheromones making his mind insist on trusting the man before him, but maybe he was desperate. Maybe just a little. And at this point, what difference was there if he was tortured by one Sith or another?
“Master Tri’kehn will have to wait, unfortunately. There was a schedule change I didn’t account for—”
“We can’t leave zem.” Kidak’s voice hardened as he scrambled to his knees. “We can’t leave zem.”
When the Sith placed a hand on his arm, Kidak wanted nothing more than to shove it away. He just…didn’t have the energy to do so. “It’s you, or no one. Master Tri’kehn won’t be abandoned here, he will be rescued, but for now I need to focus on you.”
Kidak swallowed. His mind was racing, this way and that and over every possible scenario—
He took a steadying breath, and it cleared. He was a Jedi Master, not a frightened Padawan.
“…Can you assure me Tri’kehn will be rescued?”
The Sith’s kind smile was back; it looked out of place on dark armor and the sharp angles of a helmet that framed his striking eyes just so. But it was nevertheless kind. “I promise, friend.” The way he placed a hand over his own chest made it feel…more genuine. Like he was at least making an attempt at it, rather than relying on Zeltron trickery. It brought Kidak’s nerves more at ease, though he wouldn’t admit it to the (not?) Sith. “Master Tri’kehn will remain here no longer than absolutely necessary. You have my word.”
Kidak swallowed, and with help from the Sith (he never caught his name, he realized), pushed himself to his feet. “…Fine. Okay.” He closed his eyes against the ache, flicked his tail once as he heard the beep of his collar being deactivated.
Guilt twisted his gut, but he couldn’t let himself linger on it. Not now. He’d be no help to Tri’kehn if he got himself recaptured—or killed—in his attempt to get out of the damned prison.
So now… Now they just had to get out alive.

If your Jedi ocs had to disguise themselves as a Sith, how convincing of a job would they do?
Ooh this is a fun question! Thank you, Nonny! 💚💜
Hmmmm now who to answer this for...
Synnda: 7/10
Synnda has actually convincingly imitated a Sith before. Disguising as one is a little different, of course, but his monotone voice than can easily be mistaken for irritated and the fact dark side-corruption resulting from the shielding technique is already visible in and around his eyes would help his case. The issue for him wouldn't be looking Sith, but rather acting the part once it came down to doing something he didn't agree with, or not being able to turn a blind eye to things seen as normal in Imperial culture.
Leo: 3/10
She could pull it off by appearance, and appearance alone. Dressing as one, with a hood or mask to shroud her face, would be the only way she could convince someone. She's angry with the Sith and makes it obvious, and would give herself away the moment she opened her mouth.
Kidak: 1/10
He's. Way too friendly. His tail is too expressive, his emotions too open, any Force-sensitive within a kilometer of him would see right through it lol.
Which... makes it kinda funny his husband is SIS and actually disguised as a Sith.
Tri'kehn: 8/10
Tri could pass off a cynical and bitter Lord. Ze'd be considered boring and maybe even paranoid, but most wouldn't bat an eye. Like Synnda, zeir disguise would start to break when ze tried to step in to stop something against zeir morals.
Ze could hold up a little longer than Synnda in doing thing ze didn't agree with, but eventually zeir heart would win.
Alvihr: 9/10
She can - and has - passed as a Sith assassin before. Also, I'm using Jedi loosely for her. She's a serial killer, but was raised on the Code and still considers herself one even if her actions would horrify even some Sith. ...she also hates Sith, so would sooner or later give herself away.
Lina: 10/10
While it would break her heart to see things like slavery and power grabs running rampant, she'd know when to turn the other way so as not to break her cover. She can make herself sound stern or angry on the flip of a coin, could tap into her actual anger rooted from being raised on wartorn Balmorra if she really needed to, and has never been afraid to learn tricks the Jedi would frown on (she finds she prefers to use a blaster, after all), so could find herself tapping into typically dark side abilities to make herself convincing.
In the end, she'd be happy to go back to being herself and wouldn't choose to disguise as a Sith, but would be able to hold up a disguise the longest out of anyone listed.
She's the weakest combat-wise, so knows she'd have to be clever about it. She could pull it off if she needed to.

V'ehsz Legacy vs. The Star Fortresses
I'm ah
maybe kinda sorta working on a fic involving one of the Star Fortresses which is E X C I T E because I've been struggling to write anything lately 👀
ANYWAY
it got me thinking about how Terrin's Alliance would go about dealing with them, sooooo
(warnings for violence, major injuries, and minor character death)
-------------
The attack on Bothawui horrified millions. Terrin, the loud and boisterous Mandalorian Commander who always had something to say, was stricken speechless. Speechlessness turned into outrage, then sorrow, for all those thousands lost. Sorrow and anger turned into action. Within days of the destruction, she'd put together a plan with the help of her advisors.
"Inferno Squad, Master Tophrik, and Synnda's students are all goin' with the Voidhound and some of Aygo's forces to provide aid to Bothawui's survivors," she'd ordered. Her usually grinning face was twisted into a hard scowl, ponytail messy from being pulled up in a hurry, makeup smeared as if she'd slept with it on, armor still scarred from her last battle with Arcann's forces.
"So far, we've got seven known Fortresses - scouts have already taken a look through some of 'em to give us an idea what we're dealing with. The Fortress over Bothawui's already fired on the planet, and we don't know how long it's gonna be before the others decide they're gonna do the same - or, before that one fires again. Each team will have an Intelligence agent tasked to walk them through the halls, and warn them of any incoming danger that the scanners our scouts planted pick up on.
"Darth Nox and Master V'ehsz, I'm sendin' you two to Alderaan's." The Jedi inclined his head in acknowledgement, while the Sith only scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Synnda, try to use your Force-shroudin'...whatever it is, to get you both to the core unnoticed. Your contact is Domino."
"Agent Xaerez has insisted on going on his own to Voss. We'll have Oggurobb check over his stealth generator to ensure it's in good condition. Avoid Knights at all costs - they'll see right through it. Your Intelligence contact is Shara."
"Yes, sir."
"Lord Wrath and Max Tro: To Nar Shaddaa. You two are going in last. Create a scene, cause as much damage as possible, to distract the forces aboard the other Fortresses enough for the rest of the teams to get in, and get out. Make 'em second-guess themselves, make their Exarch scared that you're about to rip 'em apart, then do it. Give those casinos a nice fireworks show."
The Mandalorian was grinning from ear-to-ear at that; she certainly looked ready for the fight ahead. And the Sith, stoic as ever while on-the-job, only nodded - but there was a spark of something in the air around her: Excitement.
"Oh, this power-couple's got this in the bag, baby~" said Max.
The slightest smirk found the Commander's lip before falling away again. "Your contact is Agent Kothe."
Xaerez stiffened at the name, hands curling into fists where they'd been rested on the table. He said not a word, and quickly tucked them into his lap.
"Master Hess and Feymark Ehn, to Hoth's Fortress."
The Jedi's tail swished with trepidation, gaze drifting to the former Warstalker. Feymark, for his part, just tipped his head a little.
"Ehn, you're good at pulling attention to yourself. Do that, and Hess take the openings they cause to get to the core of the station."
"Ah...yes, sir."
"Brehl'aa is your contact."
Kidak visibly relaxed at the name, offering to Terrin a grateful glance that she answered with a thumbs-up.
"Lords Raphios and Beniko, I'm sendin' you to Tatooine. Azu'ma is your contact."
Both Sith glanced to each other from across the table, and nodded solemnly.
"Very well."
"Liakige Harren, with Master Alvihr to Belsavis."
The former Sith arched a brow, while the Jedi's studious gaze hardened coldly at the thought of tearing the station apart.
"Abbath's your contact.
"And I'm takin' Torian with me. We're destroying that kriffin' station--" she banged an armored fist on the table, "--over Bothawui before it takes any more lives. Theron, with us."
Her posture straightened, too-bright eyes scanning the crowd before her. "You should all be gettin' more detailed files on your assignments shortly. Dismissed."
-----------
Xaerez is the first to deal the final blow with his Fortress, sparking the domino affect of the rest of the teams following suit - they all go down within hours of one another, and Arcann is outraged that he suddenly loses contact with seven Fortresses practically all at once.
-Xaerez, for his part, makes it almost to the very end before the Exarch figures out something's amiss - this is only after the other Fortresses have begun reporting intruders, so the Voss Exarch practically turned the place upside down just knowing there would be someone.
Xaerez comes out of it with broken ribs and a fractured clavicle, but a moment of hesitation as Andur readies a powerful Force attack gives him the window he needs to draw his vibroknife and jam it into his jugular, allowing Xaerez to make it out alive before the station blew up.
-Raphios and Lana worked in perfect sync with each other. While they were forced to fight their way through since neither has stealth capabilities, they had a relatively easy time compared to the other teams, and were mere minutes behind Xaerez in destroying theirs.
They're both a little worse for ware after being confronted by Tarso, but make it out with no serious injuries - after beheading him.
-Kidak and Fey turn out to work better together than Kidak had expected. Fey's a little more...enthusiastic, about fighting than the Jedi, but does his job of "distraction" really well, giving Kidak the windows he needed to get into computers or through locked doors.
They fared the easiest with their Exarch. Fey came out of stealth behind Jom after he'd cornered Kidak at a computer, driving his weapon straight through the Exarch's chestpiece and killing him almost instantly.
-Terrin and Torian tear through their Fortress like the Mandos they are, fighting for every step forward. Due to the lack of Bothawui resistance support for obvious reasons, they're racing against the clock to first disable the shield, and then disarm and destroy their Fortress before it can have the chance to fire again.
They're stressed, they're exhausted, they're angry - their Exarch doesn't stand a chance, and finds himself burned alive in his armor.
-Alvihr and Liakige weren't the best pairing. They butt heads, Alvihr is too gung-ho about "punishing" those within the Fortress, while Liakige is actually trying to go through with their task. She's hostile toward the former Sith apprentice...
Until Liakige leaps in to save a group of the Condemned being herded off for experimentation. The two then follow through with their objective, and Alvihr is more than happy to execute Exarch Forta when her guard is down just a moment too long.
-Max and Azan do their job perfectly. Does it make their job harder as their efforts draw in literally every force on the station? Yes. But does it cause chaos in the other Fortresses as they scramble to prevent the same from happening to them? Also yes.
The pair tears through the Fortress, maiming or killing anyone foolish enough to get in their way; Azan rips Skytroopers apart with her bare hands, Max turns her flamethrower to them to force them into overheating and shutting down. Their fight with Exarch Lesin is brutal, both parties coming near-death - until Max takes a lightsaber to the gut, and Azan tears Lesin's throat out in a rage when he next turns to her. She carries Max out, and both barely survive their injuries.
-Then...there's Synnda and Qizulth/Nox... This is before they developed their queerplatonic relationship, but they're still working like a team. Things are going well, Synnda has them both shrouded with the Force, they've made it pretty far in without detection while the crew's running around like chickens with their heads cut off thanks to Max and Azan's efforts. ...until they encounter a Paladin. She detects them, they defeat her, and next thing they know, Exarch Zar Draya lunges off the elevator and they're both knocked out.
They're taken prisoner, it's been hours since Max and Azan finished off their Fortress, they're the only team left and everyone thought they were dead. Qizulth, a former slave, is panicking as he's caged with a collar on. Synnda breaks them out, and from there the two are racing the clock as Arcann closes in to take the prisoners.
Zar is more clever than her colleagues and refuses to underestimate the intruders like the others, their Intelligence contact is left floundering as they try to direct the team to the core, she sends her best Knights and Paladins after them, anything to stop them, or at least slow them down until Arcann arived.
When they finally reach her, Synnda steps in front of Qizulth. Key senses...something off about Synnda, and next thing anyone knows, the Jedi's hands are in front of him, the platform they're all standing on is crumpling like it's made of aluminum, and Zar charges. He blasts her back with the Force into a wall of the "arena," beams are creaking and screeching and glass is shattering as the platform collapses in on itself, Zar is coughing up blood as she's literally impaled from multiple directions.
Synnda backs up into Qizulth, and the two step off the platform
Then he drops it, and the still very much alive Zar, into the Fortress's core.
Qizulth never speaks of what he saw, and Synnda restrains from ever showing such displays of violence and power again.

Now of course for the most important question, which breeds are your cathar ocs?😉 Really cool post btw I really love that!! (~Dina)
haha thanks, Dina! I was thinking about it for a while, so I'm glad I finally got around to writing it up!
Leo is a desert Cathar - and she does in fact have a very bulky winter outfit in-game! It's also why I draw her ears so much bigger than my other Cathar's.
Jen is (mostly) an urban Cathar. His mom was half arctic, though. Because of his extremely active lifestyle and that he eats healthy, he's pretty thin considering he's part arctic. His twin sister, Milthe, is chubbier like it's expected for the breed.
That also makes his biological kids (Riza and Luci) urban/arctic Cathar/Sith Pureblood crosses.
Kidak is arctic. Unsurprisingly, he prefers to be stationed on Hoth over anywhere else.
Alvihr is urban/ground jungle cross
Azu'ma is the ground jungle variant.
aaand while Saa'tek is a cross between three species, his Cathar part is the desert breed.

V'ehsz Legacy: Jedi Knights
Leo Vetiko
She/they - Cathar - Defense Guardian
Server: Star Forge, Satele Shan
SO: Ytila'vena (dating)
Alignment: Light, leans gray
Leo is my legacy's canon Knight & Battlemaster. She was gravely injured on Ziost, so was one of many to end up on Ossus when Zakuul attacked due to her state leaving her unable to fight. Many years later, she joins the Alliance--with a strict stance of not being sent into Republic affairs--and provides its combat training for Force-sensitives/blade-users in general.
Has one AU version: Role Reversal, in which she's Sith
Kidak Hess
He/him - Cathar - Focus Guardian
Server: Satele Shan
SO: Bre'lah (married)
Alignment: Light
Aided in training younglings on Coruscant, but was forced into an active role of a warrior after the Sacking. He wound up stationed on Hoth as a battalion leader. Goes MIA along with Tri'kehn after an Imperial ambush. He's freed by a Sith--who turns out to actually be an SIS agent. He and the Sith, Bre'lah, keep in touch, and later aid one another after Zakuul attacks. Upon joining the Alliance, Kidak is able to go back to teaching children, so has a big part in the legacy's Next Gen characters' lives.
Ytila'vena
She/her - Chiss - Watchman Sentinel
Server: Star Forge
SO: Leo Vetiko (dating)
Alignment: Light
Found as an infant after her parents sent her away from Ascendency space, she was raised by the Jedi and eventually became a Temple guardian. When Zakuul attacked, she grabbed any Padawan and youngling she could and took off for Ossus with Gnost-Dural. She was stationed as a colony guardian as Leo's partner, and later joins the Alliance, where she guards the base and keeps an eye on non-Alliance visitors.
Karn Mana
He/him - Miraluka/Human - Combat Sentinel/Deception Assassin
Server: Star Forge
SO: Single
Alignment: Dark
Even as a Padawan, his following of the Jedi Code was shaky at best. The lure of the dark side, the power it could offer, had always been tempting for him. Striking down his first real opponent in battle, rather than showing mercy, was the tipping point he needed to truly fall. He eventually defects to accept a Sith's offer to train him with "true power."
Sy'hen Rett
They/them - Human (Cyborg) - Infiltration Shadow/Vigilance Guardian
Server: Darth Malgus
SO: Single
Alignment: Gray, more light over time
A former Knight of Zakuul, Sy'hen became a POW after the Alliance won the battle on Voss thanks to the Gravestone and Imperial intervention. Over the course of months, they were able to see the good the Alliance actually did, and when it recruited Arcann, some Knights were also given a second chance--Sy'hen included. They're able to prove their loyalty, and wind up recruited to Inferno Squad as a scout.
Tri'kehn
Ze/he - Twi'lek (cyborg) - Focus Guardian
Server: Star Forge
SO: Single
Alignment: Light
When Tri'kehn's Padawan was killed in a speeder crash, ze requested to be restationed in an attempt to escape the area that brought the memories back every time ze passed it. Ze was stationed on Hoth alongside Kidak, leading a squad that would often work with Kidak's battalion. When they were both captured, Tri'kehn wasn't lucky enough to find escape with Bre'leh, and was subjected to torture for zeir information. Ze was later able to escape thanks to a Havoc rescue. Ze's is a husk of who ze once was, but still tries to be the best Jedi ze can. Ze doesn't join the Alliance due to it having a lot of former Imperials & being led by the bounty hunter who contributed to zeir capture, but does voice support for it from zeir place in the Republic.
