I love the hell out of the Kibou no Senshi!My fav is probably Nagisa, followed by Kotoko and Monaka, then Jatarou, then Masaru.

I finally listened to the Tri character songs! They were better than I expected! Here’s how I rank them:

Boku Ni Totte (Yamato): Well, naturally this song ranks high, it’s really well done, totally took me by surprise when I heard it in the movie. And it suits Yamato so well. I consider it my number one, but to be honest, perhaps because it was my first time hearing them, I was a little more excited for...

Yume No Kanau Basho (Sora) and Eien No Puzzle (Taichi): These were so good! Sora’s song is so fun and really has a sense of “flight.” It’s not at all what I expected her theme song to be like and yet it’s perfect. Although Yamato’s is my number one, Sora’s is currently my unexpected fav! I think it’d be really fun to sing at karaoke. And Taichi’s theme ranks in at number two as well - I just can’t pick between these two. Taichi’s song also surprised me, but for a different reason: I was so shocked by how well it fit with his previous songs. Everything from the tempo to the allusions to butterflies and eternity. His VA also did a great job and sounded even more like Adventure era Taichi than he ever has. It’s such a bright song and I really like the lyrics.

I Can’t (Jou): Another unexpected hit! Hahah I doubt Jou can really sing and yet part of me likes the image of him getting a bit tipsy and belting it out at karaoke and just amazing the whole room haha. Anyway this song has a great sound and I just enjoyed it a lot.

Go My Way (Mimi): Mimi’s VA is so perfect for her, and this song has a lot of pep and energy. The English parts were good too! I especially like the lines about it being important to show appreciation for others, aside from apologizing for mistakes.

Kibou No Tsubasa (Takeru): Tbh, I’d probably put this song even with Mimi’s if it weren’t for two things: Takeru’s annoying “Ooooh-yay!” (I’m sorry, I can’t stand that lol) and the fact that somehow it sounds sort of autotune to me. Like, idk how well all the VAs can sing, I don’t know much their vocals were messed with, but of course I know that’s a thing. It’s just that Takeru’s sounds autotune to me, at least when I’m wearing earphones. It’s just offputting. But the song itself was fun and dare I say, “smarty” hahaha. Kinda reminded me of an Arashi song.

Ring (Hikari): I’m not fond of ballads, which is why this gets such a low ranking from me. But I really loved the lyrics. It’s quite melancholy. A pretty interesting image song for Hikari especially in light of Kokuhaku...

Kioku No Kakeru (Koushirou): Very clearly referencing Kokuhaku. Again, I’m not so into ballads, and I liked Hikari’s just slightly more. The lyrics are the main point with this one.

I liked Meiko’s song as well. It has a nice sound. All of these were so fun >///< I love them

don’t mind me shitposting so much i’m just still having a crisis over the ova a week after it because i really dislike some points (kmkm interaction used as replacement for hnkm, hinata being too straight to go into the program when i saw a fantastic comic on pixiv w that theme, inconsistent art going from shitty (zhen, kibou) to beautiful (blue scene), the shortness of it ? the pacing and focus was much better than all of zhen combined but it.. just didn’t scratch that itch properly, literally no resolution at the end when kibou also gave none).

but i also like some points (sonsou interaction because it was nice to not have that goddamn status quo in place for once, all the shook komas koma being surprised is my fav, some actually quality art there was once in a blue moon, kuzuryuu & koma being a fun duo, that sort of metaphor at the end, hinata’s (kmkr ai’s) default expression being a lowkey pout) 

and it’s like, i’m realising that the only reason i’m overlooking those and not really criticising them is bc dr3 made me so starved and thirsty for komaeda and hinata to AT LEAST BE IN THE SAME FRAME FOR MORE THAN A SECOND and i technically didn’t get that i guess but what i did get is temporarily filling. and i also feel like everyone kinda relates so for once i don’t wanna be?? a negative nelly but anyway so as i was saying hinata & koma fucked so hard koma’s sleeve literally ripped the fuck up that’s why it’s like that in kibou
