Poll Tag
I was tagged by @mikuni14. Thank you 🥰.
Challenge: make a poll with five of your all time favorite characters, and then tag five people to do the same. See which character is everyone’s favorite.
Who can choose only 5 characters?! I admire you because I couldn't. I have too many, so I just made the list of all characters I liked and I randomly choose 5 in the list.
It was really hard to make the list, so I will still add here the name of all the characters I couldn't put in the poll.
Black (Not Me)
Kongpob & Arthit (SOTUS)
Ayan (The Eclipse)
Bai Zong Yi (Kiseki: dear to me)
Moo (Only Boo)
White & New/Tan (Dead Friend Forever)
First (Twins)
Japan (Deep Night)
Jiang Chi (Stay By My Side)
Aoki Shota (Kieta Hatsukoi Class Diary)
Jung Ki Sub (Boys Be Brave)
Meng Shao Fei (History 3: Trapped)
Pisaeng (Be My Favorite)
Kenta (Pit Babe)
Wen (Moonlight Chicken)
Yai & Ming (IFYLITA)
Shihara Ren (Shigatsu no Tokyo wa…)
Shiraishi Yuto (Koi wo Suru nara Nidome ga Joto)
Cher (A Boss and A Babe)
Rain (Love in The Air)
Ray (Only Friends)
Fifth (My Story)
Shao Chen (Tie the Not)
Tian (To Sir, With Love)
Khondiao (Cutie Pie)
Chun Sang Won & Cha Yeo Woon (Love for Love's Shake)
Jang Jae Young (Semantic Error)
There are others too in currently airing series, but I didn't add them yet because I'm waiting until the end (Except for Moo because he is my best boy). Sometimes there were more than two characters, so it would take too much time to write them all and so I didn't write them. I didn't add any women too, because I believe I could make another list only for them XD.
I'm tagging @ashuuuuuuu , @nihilisticcondensedmilk and @katieedownunder. No pressure. You don't have to do it, if you don't want and if you want me to remove your name from this post, don't hesitate to tell me. It just seem we like the same things so I thought it would be nice to see your choices.

Immortal Being that Still Somehow has Parent Issues: Myul Mang/Doom (Doom at your Service) Lee Yeon & Lee Rang (Tale of the Nine Tailed) Jeong Gu-won (My Demon)
Added trauma flavour: Parent was murdered in front of them (**Still counts if they survived the murder Parent tried to murder them Dying from seemingly incurable disease which makes their parents/guardian sad (If your parents are alive, you must pay for it by dying yourself) Adoptive parent/stepparent is THE WORST
Somehow has normal, alive parents: Lee Jun-ho (Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Has no backstory at all. We only meet his older sister and hear nothing about his childhood.) Shin Ha-ri (Business Proposal, her family is refreshingly normal, right down to her brother being sent out to find her when she's drunk) Oh Han-byeol (Sh**ting Stars, Again, we know almost nothing about her family, only that she has twin sisters. But she doesn't appear to have childhood trauma.) Park Yeon-woo (The Story of Park's Marriage Contract, her mom being annoyed at her for something that is a crime doesn't count as bad parenting) Lee Young-joon/Sung-hyun (What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, his trauma comes from a kidnapper, his parents faced a pretty impossible situation and did their best. They clearly love their kids) Baek Hyun-woo (Queen of Tears, nothing wrong with them out of the ordinary and they are in the drama a significant amount.) Ha Eun-gyeol (Twinkling Watermelon, very loving parents and the deafness and their reliance on him is not anyone's fault)
*Counting her as an orphan even though she gets her parents back after 20 years, she spent her childhood orphaned. ***This character is tricky because I understand why her mother wanted nothing to do with her, but her trying to manipulate the dad and also saying he didn't raise her properly made me so angry. ****This character is tricky because he was explicitly raised as an orphan by his grandma, his father didn't sign his birth certificate (Korean equivalent of this), and he's registered as the child of his grandmother, not his actual mom. His grandma is dead by the beginning of the series and he is living alone without family, so I think he counts as an orphan.
Uncatagorized due to lack of clarity on parents: Soundtrack #1, Hospital Playlist, Happiness
#kdramas#so many orphans#you would think that Korean children never have parents who make it to 60#if they manage to be alive they are the worst

top 10 kdrama bromances to feed your empty heart
if you scroll through my page, you can already guess number 1.
#10 - our beloved summer : choi ung and kim ji ung
beautiful beautiful men choi woo shik and kim sung cheol played ung bros for life in this beautiful beautiful drama. one of the best handled love triangles ive seen. they were there for each other through thick and thin, and helped each other through sm. best. on the tenth spot because they could've expanded on it more :(
#9 - what's wrong with secretary kim? : lee young joon and park yoo sik
i could never make it through the series. i left it behind on ep9/10 i think, and primarily because i physically cannot digest how emotionless park min young is. BUT, kudos to the hilarious office best bromance by the great park seo joon and kang ki young. ps - why is kang ki young the pankaj tripathi of korean dramas?
#8 - strong girl do bong soon : ahn min hyuk and in gook du
can we ever forget the legendary wink? or the dream where min hyuk is dressed as a woman? i think not. this was more of a frenemy type bromance, united by their love for bong soon and ironically divided by it, too. i refuse to acknowledge this as a love triangle tho. bong soon was astronomical in not hurting gook du and i will not take any criticism. is it a bromance if one of them is pretending to be gay? (and no, we will not discuss any sort of iTs pRoBLeMaTiC debates here.)
#7 - tale of the nine tailed : lee yeon and koo shin ju
don't come at me with the lee rang comments. rang was his half brother, related by blood. their relationship was top tier, but the stay at home husband yeon and working husband shin ju was too cute to not be classified as a bromance. in the beginning, i saw their relationship as shin ju serving yeon, a dynamic that they both seemed to embody. but as the show progresses, yeon baby we know you love shin ju just as much :*
#6 - alchemy of souls : jang uk and seo yul
song joon ki seems to have an attachment to bromances. han seo had the best character arc of the ENTIRE kdrama universe fight me. that court scene where vincenzo pats han seo's cheek was max bro cuteness. still not over his death. he deserved better.
#5 - vincenzo : vincenzo cassano and jang han seo
even though i didn't very much like the show's first couple, bromance delivered well. hospital scene peaked, complete true beauty sameness. it was pretty hard to understand who was the superior officer in this tbh initially, since their comraderie was so cool, shi jin was kid to soldier in a split second. loved how they chose not to unnecessarily exaggerate the love triangle initially bec i was only rooting for the second couple.
#4 - descendants of the sun : yoo shi jin and seo dae young
business proposal was the first kdrama i saw. i finished it in a three day trip, and i remember thinking more about the bromance than the romance. i was NOT used to the clumsiness of kdramas in general, like wattpad fics incarnated. the bromance delivered well, made me root for the second couple, and was the only initial indicator of kang tae moo being human instead of archaeopteryx. that word was a nightmare to spell.
#3 - business proposal : kang tae moo and cha sung hoon
the most wolfstar bromance if I ever saw one. and NO, i do not ship wolfstar just like i do not ship these two. they are totally adorable, and specially since their personalities seemed to switch from when they were children. yeong turned all serious face and lee gon got fun. love their years of friendship sm, their wordless communication and yeong in general. the acting was amazing.
#2 - the king - eternal monarch : lee gon and jo yeong
#1 - guardian - the lonely and great god : kim shin aka goblin and wang yeo aka grim reaper
yes, i know I'm missing a lot of iconic ones. unfortunately, i haven't seen alot of kdramas and have left alot in bw (like true beauty bec i couldn't see second lead hurt).
spring onion slays ^
told ya, if u follow me u already knew what the first one was gonna be. being the simp i am for the goblin and grim reaper, these two achieved the max points for their bromance. that slow dynamic of goblin calling reaper's hat tacky to fighting with knives to that iconic 'saranghae' to 'HOW DARE YOU' to goblin boiling eggs with his powers while reaper chills the beer. they know each other so well. love love love them and you should too 🔪
in my heart, the trio of our boys beats nothing (except for the gookdu-minhyuk relationship of the crown prince and uk). but instead of choosing the frenemy thing, i decided to love yul and uk more. yul was such a quiet character, with incredible potential in him for me to hate him, but then...(the guy is literally too sweet and beautiful and nice i can ramble for days). and uk, man, our power baby who loves every version of our beautiful but slow girl, needed so much emotional support. uk and yul were not afraid to show their affection for each other, a trait i admired in all the three boys (jang uk, seo yul and park dang gu).

Mouse (2021) Ep. 2 Recap
Moo-Chi confronts the Head Hunter in prison with a clear message: if he doesn't cooperate, he will face dire consequences. As the investigation continues, more victims are discovered, and the killer's trail becomes more evident. During Ba-Reum's visit to Moojin Prison, he witnesses the Head Hunter committing yet another crime.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
Jae-Hoon was brought in for questioning as the prime suspect in his family's murder. He remained calm and collected when presented with a photo of the three covered corpses and maintained his innocence throughout the interrogation. Despite feeling disillusioned with his faith, he never resorted to violence. The polygraph machine confirmed his truthfulness, leading to his release.
The distorted voiceover of adult Jae-Hoon finished the thought "and I ended up becoming a murderer," revealing the true killer's identity. The perpetrator found the first murder challenging, but the excitement propelled him to continue killing. New sources have reported that a family member of one of the victims was killed in a fire at their boxing gym, twenty-five years after the Head Hunter's arrest. According to Jae-hoon, psychopaths were created due to a genetic mutation. The top one percent of these individuals are instinctive predators, who prey on humans.
One rainy night, a woman arrives at her bus stop and notices a man lingering in the distance. She is relieved when the man splits off in a different direction after following her into an alleyway. However, someone else appears before her and stabs her in the gut. She bleeds out by a sewage grate. Jae-Hoon concludes by confidently stating, "I was born a predator."
Go Moo-Chi is a police detective who is dissatisfied with the fact that death row inmates are not executed. During the apprehension of a murderer, he considers taking matters into his own hands, but a voice in his head urges him not to pull the trigger. He chases the criminal to the ledge of a rooftop. After taking a swig from his flask, Moo-Chi tells him not to jump, but warns him that he would not survive prison, causing the culprit to consider taking his own life. Moo-Chi pulls out his gun to shoot. However, the murderer jumps to his death. The detective groans and continues drinking on the roof. He wakes up to a phone call at the crack of dawn.
Moo-Chi inspects the dead body of a woman found in a sewer. She was attacked in an alleyway, and her middle finger was forcefully bent back. Detective Kang Ki-Hyuk is furious to find Moo-Chi arriving at the crime scene while still drunk. Kang Ki-Hyuk orders Shin San to remove Moo-Chi from the crime scene.
Moo-Chi is giving an interview on live television. He announces that the person who killed the lady also murdered the boxing gym director. According to him, the killer is either an attention seeker or against religion. Although his theory may sound like nonsense, Moo-Chi is right. The culprit's walls are plastered with photos of the two victims.
Moo-Chi visits Seo-Joon at the Moojin Detention Center. Moo-Chi wants to get thrown into jail to decapitate him, but the convict knows he can't do it. Undeterred, Moo-Chi recites Leviticus 24:17-20 from the Bible: "Anyone who takes the life of a human being is to be put to death. Fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. Although he usually criticizes God, the passage resonates with Moo-Chi. It inspires him to repay what he has received. The new plan is to kill Seo-Joon in front of his son. This way, he will suffer the same pain of witnessing such a scarring moment.
In a flashback, it is revealed that Ji-Eun once confessed to killing their baby, which infuriated Seo-Joon. After Moo-Chi leaves, Seo-Joon is relieved to know that his son is still alive.
Back in high school, Moo-Chi visited Ji-Eun's flower shop and blamed her for everything. At that point, his brother had already undergone nine surgeries, and they couldn't afford the next one. Moo-Chi demanded that Ji-Eun pay up so that Moo-Won wouldn't die. A crowd gathered and learned that Ji-Eun's husband was the Head Hunter. Moo-Chi grabbed Ji-Eun. A young boy interrupted by calling out "Mom." The memory cuts short. Moo-Chi stomped on his brakes to avoid hitting someone on his way out.
Jung Ba-Reum apologizes for obstructing the way and explains that he was protecting an injured bird on the road. Moo-Chi, who ws initially angry, leaves and wonders whether Ba-Reum is kind or foolish.
Prison guard Na Chi-Kook escorts Seo-Joon back to solitary confinement. The convict requested surgical thread to practice with, but Chi-Kook refused, despite Seo-Joon's claim that other guards had complied with his wishes. Seo-Joon stood up to Chi-Kook, stating, "You think you're a king? Don't flatter youself." However, Chi-Kook remained unmoved by the threat. When he describes the encounter to the prison doctor, he is given a medical thread kit and advised to do as Seo-Joon says. Chi-Kook is new to the job and has not heard that a retired guard became handicapped after ruining Seo-Joon's mood.
Ba-Reum's helps his church group set up an event for the inmates at the prison. It speaks volumes to his character that is friend Gu Dong-Goo remains unfazed when he pulls out the rescued bird. Chi-Kook's close friends visit the auditorium to greet him. Dong-Goo observes that Chi-Kook is wearing the knock-off watch he and Ba-Reum gave him to celebrate landing the job. It turns out that Ba-Reum despite being a police officer, was scammed by the seller due to his naivety. Chi-Kook gave his surgical thread to his friends who forgot to bring a sewing kit for their performance later. Dong-Goo remembered that Seo-Joon was at the facility and asked to meet him. He is a member of the Head Hunter fan page. Chi-Kook couldn't believe that Dong-Goo was one of those pathetic fans who stroke the egos of serial killers. However, he didn't know that Dong-Goo only signed up to research for an upcoming movie that he'd like to direct.
Ba-Reum and Chi-Kook take a quick break by the prison yard while carrying a heavy prop. Chi-Kook expresses shame for being scared of death row inmates who laze around instead of atoning for their crimes. He also confesses that the thread was meant for the infamous Head Hunter and points him out to Ba-Reum, who is surprised that he looks normal. Meanwhile, a prisoner offers to teach Chi-Kook a lesson, and Seo-Joon instructs him to search for "someone." When he looks up from his book, he locks eyes with Ba-Reum.
Moo-Chi retraces Soon-Young's steps in the alleyway and discovers blood on a different sewage grate. He realizes that this is where she was killed and takes note of the large footprints nearby. Upon returning to the precinct, PD Choi Hong-Joo questions him about the interview he gave earlier that day. She is unable to determine the connection between the boxing gym and the sewer cases, but he tells her to leave. During interrogation, the suspect confesses to following Soo-Young that night with the intention of asking her out on a date. Detective Kang orders Moo-Chi to back off the case, but he knows the suspect is not the killer based on his footwear.
Hong-Joo has been lingering around to get leads on the case. She is investigating the boxing gym case for her show and tries to persuade Moo-Chi to cooperate by using photographic evidence of his illegal gambling activities.
The victim of the case, Soo-Ho, is the brother of a woman who was killed by the Head Hunter years ago after being lured in by a young girl. Hong-Joo wants to catch the murderer for the sake of their mother. Moo-Chi takes Hong-Joo to the location where Soon-Young was murdered. It is approximately 100 meters away from where her body was discovered. Soon-Young's clothing suggests that she was dragged along the ground. The question remains: why did this happen?
Meanwhile, the performance at the prison is underway. At first, the inmates are not receptive to Ba-Reum's magic show. However, by the time Seo-Joon shows up, everyone is laughing heartily. Ba-Reum's final act is to handcuff a volunteer and lock him in the safe. He and Dong-Goo spin it around, claiming the the inmate will disappear. When they open the door for the big reveal, everybody panics.
Moo-Chi and Hong-Joo sit where Soon-Young and Soo-Ho's bodies were found. Hong-Joo discovers that the culprit always sets it up so that the finger is bent and pointing at a nearby cross. The two cases share another similarity: the killer takes a prize from each victim as a memento - Soon-Young's ring and Soo-Ho's boxing gloves. Moo-Chi concludes that a dangerous psychopath is hunting humans.
Upon returning to the prison, everyone was shocked to find Chi-Kook inside the safe, stripped down to his underwear, bloody, and unconscious. He had been stabbed multiple times and had lost a few fingers. The doctor on site is contacted by a prison guard, while Seo-Joon calmly observes from the back of the room. When the priest, Go Moo-Won instructs someone to turn on the lights, Seo-Joon walks to the stage. Moo-Won recognizes him, and the terrible memories resurface. Seo-Joon is warned by Ba-Reum to stay away, but Moo-Won asks him to help Chi-Kook, who is bleeding from his brain. Ba-Reum weeps while watching Seo-Joon perform the suture. Chi-Kook was transferred to the ER and the medical staff had to locate a missing finger before proceeding with surgery.
Moo-Chi explains that Soo-Ho was killed as an act of vengeance. He was beaten before being burnt, causing fractures all over his body, particularly in areas of high sensitivity. Soo-Ho's blood was found on a page of his bible, bookmarking the "eye for an eye" passage. This suggests that the murderer was retaliating against something Soo-Ho had done. According to Moo-Chi, nobody knows the true inner thoughts of another person, despite people saying that the subject was a kind guy. When Hong-Joo mentions Seo-Joon's son, she asks what crime he committed to deserve the pain that Moo-Chi is planning to serve him. The detective responds by asking what crime he committed, believing that it's onlay fair that he feels the same pain. Above all, he's curious to see how Seo-Joon's son turned out.
Ba-Reum and Dong-Goo overheard Soo-Ho's mother wailing that she didn't want to be saved while waiting for Chi-Kook's finger. A young doctor named Sung Yo-Han came over and drily explained where she should cut next time if she wished to die. Dong-Goo flung himself at the doctor, grabbing him by the lapels and demanding an apology. However, Yo-Han's cold gaze caused Dong-Goo to back down. The prison guard returned with the missing finger and doctors quickly took Chi-Kook to the operating room. Yo-Han was asked to assist in the surgery since the specialist was still performing another operation. Despite Ba-Reum's concerns, he was assured that Yo-Han had experience with neurosurgery.
Moo-Chi thinks that the killer must be skilled with a knife and knowledgeable about human anatomy.
Meanwhile, Yo-Han slices open the scalp without the help of a neurosurgeon. Ba-Reum's research reveals that Yo-Han is the youngest person to pass the medical board exam and has assisted in brain surgeries before. Chi-Kook's surgery ends well, but it remains to be seen if he will recover. The doctors are impressed by the person who performed the emergency procedure. Yo-Han walks off when he learns that the Head Hunter was responsible. Later, he overhears that a prisoner taught Chi-Kook a lesson for disrespecting Seo-Joon.
High school student Oh Bong-Yi called someone to pick her up from school due to the incoming rain. However, when they did not show up, she had to head home alone, feeling anxious about crossing a bridge. Despite her fear, she forced herself to cross it, but her knees buckled when the rain poured down, and she sensed someone approaching her from behind. Her grandmother swung her umbrella at the man, but when he took off his hood, Halmoni recognized that it was Ba-Reum. Halmoni comforts Bong-Yi, who is hyperventilating. She assures her that everything will be okay. Bong-Yi mentions a puppy that doesn't exist but Halmoni simply tells her that it ran away.
After the storm, Bong-Yi returns home in a fit of anger. Ba-Reum apologizes to Halmoni for scaring them while wearing his bloody outfit. Halmoni invites him to stay for dinner and lends him one of her outfits while he waits for his clothes to dry. During dinner, Ba-Reum attempts to grab his favourite rolled omelette, but Bong-Yi blocks him physically. Halmoni watches with glee as Ba-Reum tends to the wound on Bong-Yi's palm. However, Bong-Yi notices this and snaps at him before retreating to her room. Halmoni admits that her granddaughter is shy around the man she likes and asks for his opinion on marrying her. The conversation becomes uncomfortable when Halmoni boasts about the 19-year-old's physical attributes, causing the man to leave.
Hong-Joo conducts research and invites Daniel to feature on her show, Sherlock Hong-Joo. He explains that Edmund Kemper's killing instincts were awakened after he murdered his own grandparents out of curiosity. Most psychopaths' killer instincts remain dormant until something triggers them. In Moo-Chi's interview, he explains that Soo-Ho was killed as an act of revenge, but it sparked something within the killer, who randomly chose Soon-Young as his next victim. He is certain that this is the beginning of a killing spree, where the murders will become bolder and more frequent. Once again, he is correct, as a homeless man's body is discovered in an abandoned warehouse, with the signature finger pointing at a cross. Moo-Chi cautions the audience that if this is the work of a psychopath, then he could be hunting for his next victim at any moment.
The adult Jea-Hoon's distorted voiceover explains that he is not feeling well after watching the broadcast. He selects a murder weapon and searches the streets for a small and weak target who will not resist. After the deed is done, he adds a photo of a woman to his wall.
Hong-Joo concludes the episode by reminding the public of the Zodiac Killer, who once pleaded, "Please help me. I can't stop myself," and suggests that this new serial killer may also require their assistance.
During his patrol, Ba-Reum and his colleagues discover a dead cat with its teeth pulled out, causing him to vomit. He is then assigned the task of distributing fliers around the neighbourhood. Meanwhile, Halmoni spends the morning nagging Bong-Yi to come home earlier, graduate high school, and find a way to marry Ba-Reum. Fed up with hearing his name every day, Bong-Yi finally exclaims, "Why are you trying to sell me off to such an old man?" However, her grandmother believes that she won't find a better partner elsewhere. Ba-Reum is handsome and good-natured. He even won an award for good citizenship. Bong-Yi leaves the house in annoyance.
She finds Ba-Reum outside holding a stack of fliers. She complains that tax dollars are being wasted. It's been months, and they still haven't caught the cat killer. Ba-Reum offers her medication for her wound, but she scurries away. Halmoni comes out limping, about to attend Moo-Won's last service before he transfers to another location. Ba-Reum notices and realizes that she was late picking up Bong-Yi because she injured herself, not because she lost track of time. Halmoni akss him to keep it a secret. Ba-Reum applied antiseptic to her and promised to pick up Bong-Yi the next time it rains. When Ba-Reum asked why Bong-Yi couldn't cross bridges in the rain, she avoided answering truthfully.
Bong-Yi witnesses Moo-Won being verbally attacked by Soo-Ho's mother. She asks him why he believes in God and shares that he didn't save her in her time of need, so she doesn't care for him. Later, she has a panic attack after recognizing a criminal on television.
On is day off, Moo-Chi combs through the garbage in his house to pick up a call. He is annoyed at first but rushes over to a greenhouse where a young woman's body was found. Jae-Hoon confirmed Moo-Chi's theory by wrapping Soo-Ho's boxing gloves around the victim's neck, placing Soo-Young's missing ring on her finger, and making her wear the missing shoe of the homeless man. However, Moo-Chi did not recognize Chi-Kook's watch.
Moo-Chi is confused that there is no cross involved, so he removes the woman's hand from her mouth. He discovers that the murderer carved a cross on the roof of her moth, and her finger was pointing at it. When he looks up, the detective finds a bloody message written just for him: "Bingo!" This message praises Detective Go Moo-Chi's marvelous deeductive skills.
Meanwhile, a man approaches Yo-Han and informs him that someone wants to meet him. Yo-Han visits Seo-Joon in jail where the convict says, "I was curious to see how my son grew up."
Ba-Reum visits Chi-Kook at the hospital. He catches the news reporting on the newest victim of the serial killer on his way out. Yo-Han sees Ba-Reum in the lobby when he gets to the hospital. Young Jae-Hoon narrates, "Mom once told me that there was one more child besides me who was carrying the monster gene. I was always curious. What happened to that child?" Ba-Reum turns around to make eye contact with Yo-Han. They miss the fact that they're reporting Chi-Kook's unique knock-off watch on TV. Jae-Hoon continues, "Did he become a predator like me, or did he become a normal person?"

THE BRİDE OF HABAEK // KDRAMA DİZİ YORUMU
UYARI : Yazılar genel olarak spoiler içerebilir. İçermeyedebilir.
İmdb: 6,9 Benim Puanım: 6
Drama: The Bride of Habaek (English title) / Bride of the Water God 2017 (literal title)
Hangul: 하백의 신부 2017
Director: Kim Byung-Soo
Writer: Yoon Mi-Kyung (original comic), Jung Yoon-Jung
Date: 2017
Language: Korean
Country: South Korea
Cast : Nam Joo-Hyuk, Shin Se-Kyung, Lim Ju-Hwan, Krystal, Gong Myung
Dizinin isminde doğaüstü bir varlığın gelini deyince herkesin aklına ilk gelen Goblin dizisi olmuş. Yapmayın, gelmesin öyle şeyler. Nam Joo-Hyuk dizilerinden şeytan görmüş gibi kaçmaktan vaz geçtim. Arka arkaya iki dizisini aldım izleme listeme.
Yoon So-A(Shin Se-Kyung) ise bildiğimiz insan rolündeydi.

He Is Psychometric Episode 15-16 Review (Series Finale)
This review contains spoilers from episode 15 and 16. You have been warned.
I can’t believe at one point of this whole story my biggest concern was proving Sung-mo had feelings for Ji-soo, which for the record he totally did, but how could I possible imagine the writer would take the darkest road of all.
Starting with the Yeon-song apartment building murders and fire, I was holding out hope for Sung-mo to be innocent but that would mean there was hope for him and, let’s be honest, he never had a fighting chance. From the moment he was introduced to us, his character was already cryptic af, clearly playing a long game, and we were wishing for answers... how naive we were.
I have to wonder, what would have happened if Mom and Sung-mo wouldn't have isolated themselves so much from other people after they escaped the first time? Would it had changed anything? Did they even know how to trust others after so many years living inside a cage and then having to run away constantly? Would Sung-mo had called Ahn’s father that night? Would have he realized, by interacting further with others, that not everyone was a disappointment like the police who didn’t investigate his mother’s case or a crazy person like Kang Geun-tae?
Up to that point in his story, the night of the fire, Sung-mo had no real interaction with anyone else other than Mom and Kang Geun-tae. Sure, he had his moments with Jae-in, Ahn and their respective fathers but they were small and insignificant in comparison to everything else he went through. No, in my eyes, Sung-mo remains a victim of abuse and fear who was pushed too far.
I even wondered if Mom was to blame. Whatever her nurturing was lacking because she made an emphasis on intellectual understanding, instead of actual interaction with others and learning through practice. But then I remembered, she sent Sung-mo to school not only to learn but to try have a normal life, make friends, and he lied to her. He chose to stay at the door of the apartment building as a lookout.
Then I wondered if perhaps she relied on him too much, since she was the adult and he was the child but then it’s wrong to put blame on her in the first place because she too was a victim. With more than two decades of confinement, sexual, psychological and emotional abuse, she was doing her best. She was as terrified and desperate as Sung-mo, and what else could she have possible done when -at the time of the incident- even she wasn’t willing to trust or interact with others just in case Kang Geun-tae showed up?
At the same time, tho, I feel she was so oblivious to other’s pain that she failed to really understood the pain her own son was going through, even before the apartment fire. Did she really never suspected what he was doing in order to protect her? And even all those years later, was she truly so blind as to believe Sung-mo was using his work as a prosecutor to send Kang Geun-tae to jail?
No. Sung-mo was doomed from the beginning and so were all the relationships he built through the years, once he understood that other people are the ones who help us experience and understand emotions, but by then it was too late. He had already gone a path with no return. He felt guilt towards Ahn and Jae-in most of all because their respective parents had been kind to him and lend a helping hand, understanding he needed one. And because he didn’t know how or wasn’t able to accept that help, he ended up killing one of them and sending the other to jail for a crime he didn't commit. Same goes for Ji-soo. Sung-mo pushed her away not only to protect her from Kang Geun-tae but because he understood they couldn’t have a future. Sung-mo always knew where his story ended and that meant paying for his crimes.
The most tragic part of the whole story is what finding out the truth meant for Ahn. After the death of his parents, it was Sung-mo and Ji-soo who took the place of role models for him. Perhaps it sounds crazy because they were only 10 or 11 years older, but they were his new family. The people who believed in him, who took care of him, nagged him to do better in school, and gave him a home. By the end of the show, they are both scars and bittersweet memories of a person whose death he feels responsible for and another who he cares about but can’t forgive. I know we have talked about how Ahn is one of the most emotionally stable characters and I appreciate the show making us understand he’s struggling quietly with his feelings towards Sung-mo and Ji-soo, but I don’t think he will ever be able to forgive Sung-mo. Understand him, yes, as we have already seen. Forgive? I’m not sure.
As for Jae-in, even though she cared for Ji-soo and Sung-mo, her journey was always about proving her father’s innocence. It was heartbreaking to hear her say that at one point she doubted him, especially when we have seen throughout so many episodes how filial she is to him. This confession I find it a little out of character but reasonable when you think about the bigger picture. I’m glad she has found a group of colleagues she can trust to do proper police work.
Which takes me to YSS Construction Company and the government corruption case. Personally, I find it was wrapped up quite nicely and a little rushed. There are still many connections to the criminal organization and other officials but that remains to be solved, which is something I am guessing Jae-in, Detective Nam and Detective Lee will make a lifelong goal to achieve.
The half-baked conclusion to this storyline was so disheartening in some aspects that even Dr. Hong decided to take a sabbatical until she felt it was right to comeback to work for the police and prosecutor’s office. Let’s be honest, without Ji-soo, she didn’t know who to trust.
Not everyone had a bittersweet ending, tho, since Detective Nam and Aunt Sook-ja have been dating for a while and they are terrible at keeping it a secret. But another two cuties have nothing to hide: Dae-bong’s years of hard work (and sort of stalking, let’s face it) trying to win over So-hyun finally paid off. They all end up a happy and big family that Ahn and Jae-in can rely on.
Overall, He is Psychometric turned out to be the dark horse of 2019. It came out of nowhere becoming one of the best shows of the year thanks to a compelling story and solid performances. The main four are all relative new as leads but they carried the show with ease.
After Kim Kwon won Best New Actor award last year, as long time fan, I was looking forward to see what his next project would be and I’m not surprised he picked this particular story. He’s always been more drawn to complex and layered characters, and I think we can all agree Sung-mo was exactly that. Many people have commented on twitter they have fallen for him, not only for his good looks, but also for his performance and it makes me incredible happy he’s being recognized.
Kim Da-som has come a long way since the first roles she took on. Her performance as Ji-soo was so good, she became the source light when the story started to go a darker path. And once it was gone, so was all hope for a happy ending. It’s a difficult task to become the heart of a series but she did it gracefully.
I’m mostly impressed with Park Jinyoung and Shin Ye Eun, whom I confess I hadn’t heard about before this show. I believe it’s both their first time in leading roles but I’m sure we will see them in other projects soon enough.

KDRAMA.
My Top 5 Korean-Drama Recommendations:
1. Chicago Typewriter
2. Remember: War of the Son
3. Tunnel
4. D-Day
5. Class of Lies
Disclaimer: I am NOT A FAN of romantic comedies, so most of my kdrama recommendations are all under the genre of crime, mystery and thriller.
5. Class of Lies (2019)
Network: OCN
Genre: Crime, Mystery, Thriller
Episodes: 16
Plot (by AsianWiki):
Ki Moo-Hyeok (Yoon Kyun Sang) is a lawyer with a high winning rate. He only cares about money. Due to a murder case at a high school which he deals with, his reputation as a lawyer hits rock bottom. In order to regain his good name as a lawyer, he sneaks into the high school and begins to work as a temporary teacher. He tries to reveal a secret which the students have. In so doing, Ki Moo-Hyeok gets involved with Teacher Ha So-Hyun (Keum Sae Rok). She is P.E. teacher who loves her students. Ki Moo-Hyeok and Ha So-Hyun then face the students' secret.
Thoughts/Conclusion:
As I am writing this, this is the latest kdrama I have watched. This was recommended by my friend and I remembered myself including this in my list of kdramas ‘to watch’ way before, but hasn’t been able to, yet. Hahaha!
In all of the dramas I’ve watched (with the same plot as this one), this one stands out the most because of its ending ㅡ open-ended. Yes, there were still some unanswered questions, but that is what made this drama intriguing. I love how realistic the approach of the drama is in interpreting the story. That not everything gets resolved, and in this drama too, the ending with Yu Beom Jin left us with many unanswered questions.
4. D-Day (2015)
Network: JTBC
Genre: Medical Drama, Disaster, Romance
Episodes: 20
Plot (by Wikipedia):
Lee Hae-sung is a surgeon who is transferred from one of the best hospitals in Seoul to a rundown hospital with no ER. After disobeying his previous hospital director, Park Geon, he then meets Jung Ddol-mi, an orthopedic resident from Busan who came to Seoul to transfer a patient. Ddol-mi tries to meet professor Han Woo-jin, a cold robotics surgeon who works in Hae-sung's old hospital who saved her life when she was younger before going back to Busan. However, she is stuck in Seoul after trying to save a patient. Meanwhile, a sinkhole appears in Seoul followed by a big earthquake that blocks all access to the city, causing phones, electricity, and water to not function. Hae-sung teams up with Ddol-mi to treat people, but soon medicine starts to run out.
Thoughts/Conclusion:
If I will recall, I think this is the first medical kdrama I have watched? I watched this because of Lee Sungyeol of INFINITE is casted in this drama and also because of the plot. But as I go on, I found myself so absorbed in the series.
What I liked about this series aside from the plot are the actors and actresses. They all did well in portraying each character, but I have to say, Kim Young Kwang really stands out for me. He has put a lot of effort in expressing his emotions into his character and it felt so real.
3. Tunnel (2017)
Network: OCN
Genre: Police Procedural, Crime, Thriller
Episodes: 16
Plot (by AsianWiki):
In 1986, Detective Park Gwang-Ho (Choi Jin Hyuk) desperately tries to catch a serial killer. He chases after the serial killer and goes through a tunnel. On the other side of the tunnel, Detective Park Gwang-Ho finds himself in the year 2017. The serial killer has resumed the killings that began 30 years ago. Detective Park Gwang-Ho works with Detective Kim Sun-Jae (Yoon Hyun Min) and Professor of Criminal Psychology Shin Jae-Yi (Lee Yoo Young) to catch the killer.
Thoughts/Conclusion:
I was actually torn between Tunnel and Signal, but I decided to include Tunnel in my Top 5 kdrama recommendations because it tackles criminal psychology as well as criminal profiling and I have been very interested in those things lately. What makes this series intriguing is that, it shows how psychopaths and sociopaths are developing in the society.
2. Remember: War of the Son (2015)
Network: SBS
Genre: Legal Drama, Crime, Thriller, Mystery
Episodes: 20
Plot (by Wikipedia):
Seo Jin-woo has a special condition called hyperthymesia which allows him to remember almost every day in perfect detail. While his father, Seo Jae-hyuk on the other hand, developed an Alzheimer's disease, making him lose his memories. When Seo Jae-hyuk was wrongfully convicted of murder, Jin-woo vows to prove innocence of his father. Four years later, Jin-woo becomes a lawyer to put the real criminal behind bars but bribery, corruption, and betrayals would not give him an easy road to justice.
Thoughts/Conclusion:
This series has been my top 1 kdrama ever since I have watched it, but Chicago Typewriter happened (well, I’ll be talking about this later). I came across a clip from the first episode of the series in Facebook. It was the scene on Jinwoo and Inha on the bus while identifying the culprit who stole something from Inha. I was intrigued about it and how Jinwoo has sharp memory and remembers everything.
What I love about this drama is the refreshing new plot and the characters, oh, let’s not forget how good Nam Goong Min portrayed his character as Nam Gyu Man. He really showed excellent acting skills to the point that even the viewers will hate him SO MUCH. Hahaha.
1. Chicago Typewriter (2017)
Network: TVN
Genre: Historical, Fantasy, Comedy, Romance
Episodes: 16
Plot (by Wikipedia):
The series depicts three resistance fighters who lived during the 1930s Japanese occupation of Korea, and are reincarnated into the present as a best-selling writer in a slump, a fan, and a ghostwriter.
It is an epic story of comradeship, friendship, love and betrayal that lasts 80 years. As the trio of writer, ghostwriter and fan race against time to find the truth of the past that haunts them, will their discovery affect their present?
Thoughts/Conclusion:
This is actually one of the recent kdramas I’ve watched during this enhanced community quarantine and I just have to say that this is actually one of my regrets in life (ok this is exaggerated lol but anyways). I regret not being able to watch this during the release which was last 2017. But it was actually on my ‘to watch’ list at that time. I’ve seen the plot and it made me curious, so I waited for it to finish before actually starting it, but I wasn’t really able to watch it because I got busy with school.
THIS. IS. SO. SO. SO. SO. GOOD.
As I’ve said above, Remember: War of the Son used to be my top 1 kdrama of all time, but after watching Chicago Typewriter, I changed my mind. Okay hear me out, I’ve seen A LOT of kdramas with new and interesting plot, but they haven’t topped Remember yet, but Chicago Typewriter just did, and I really mean it.
For the story, there were times where I felt that the story-line was moving slow. I mean, I wasn’t expecting it to be fast-paced but there were really scenes that I think have been dragged too long and not that important. But aside that, everything was SO GOOD. YES. IT WAS SO GOOD.
I love how series unfold the genuine friendship between the three main characters during the 1930s Japanese occupation of Korea – Seo Hwiyoung, Ryu Soohyun and Shin Yul. The storytelling throughout the drama is also good, even though they were constantly shifting timelines between 1930s and the present.
The OSTs in the series were also GOOD. I tried listening to it after I watched the drama and I swear, listening to Satellite by SALTNPAPER and Writing Our Stories by SG Wannabe brings back all those emotions you’ve felt while watching it.
