11. How many pairs of shoes do you own?

Shoes that I wear REGULARLY?? I think maybe four pairs? Sneakers I've had since 2018, two pairs of Toms, and my rain boots. OH! And slippers I wear when I go downstairs to do laundry. So five. I have more in my closet, but those are for special occasions (fancy boots, shoes i've worn at weddings, etc). I don't really care much about shoes, I'd rather be comfortable more than anything!

30. How many pillows do you sleep with?

I have multiple pillows, but I typically only sleep with one! I love firm pillows and I only have one (I inherited my other pillows from my previous roommates who had a ton and said I could take them, but they're too soft for my so I have a bunch of stuffed animals sitting on them instead lol). If I have a cold or something though, I'll sleep with at least two!

46. What is your personality type?

ISFJ I believe. I haven't taken that quiz in a while so I should probably see if it updated but I can be pretty shy and sensitive until I feel comfortable around others! Here's what the 16 Personalities website says:

ISFJ (Defender) is a personality type with the Introverted, Observant, Feeling, and Judging traits. These people tend to be warm and unassuming in their own steady way. They’re efficient and responsible, giving careful attention to practical details in their daily lives.

I think that's pretty accurate I guess? Now I'm interested to take it again!

52. Favorite food?

I answered that here with french fries, but I also LOVE ice cream. My fave flavors are usually anything with chocolate chips in it, mint chocolate chip being my all time fave!! I also love chocolatey or peanut butter cup flavors. IT'S ALL SO GOOD!!!

60. Do you talk to yourself?

Also answered here but yes, all the time! I'm always talking to myself and addressing invisible people in my apartment as if I'm on camera. What better way to stave off the horrors than pretending you're putting on a comedy routine of some kind? 😅

68. Favorite school subject?

Rather than say English (because duh, I love reading and writing), I'll say my fave class I ever took in high school was photography class! My teacher was simply the most fun and laid back teacher I ever had, and he was so incredibly encouraging and helpful about all things, not just photography based! I loved being able to listen to music in the dark room and did projects I actually cared about and enjoyed and had a few pieces displayed around school! My dad still has a few of them hanging up in his office back home :)

71. What makes you nervous?

Dare I say most things? Lol, on account of I have generalized anxiety. The thing that's making me nervous RECENTLY is that my job comes to an end in a month and job hunting is STRESSFUL. Especially when I live in such an expensive city! I reached out to the creator of the show I work on yesterday to ask him advice about writing for television, and while I know THAT itself was brave, I'm nervous for his response lol. I have an appointment today which always makes me nervous, I'm worried I'm not DOING enough, failing, all that good stuff. YAY! Aren't you glad you asked 😂

86. What are you allergic to?

There's one specific medicine that made me break out in hives as a kid (am I even still allergic? who knows!), but more noticeably and mysteriously, there's a certain fiber in fabric material that makes my hands itch and swell. I used to think it was tulle, but it seems to happen randomly after I touch certain fabrics. I have to run my hands under cold water and constantly flex them to try and get the swelling to go down. That also happens when the weather outside is way too hot! What is the exact fiber? No clue, it usually happens pretty randomly when I'm out and about lol. Luckily it's nothing life threatening, just annoying!

98. Do you have any scars?

I do! I was bitten by a dog that I lived with in 2021 (I no longer live with her and am in a much better place now), but for a long long time I had a very noticeable bite on my left thigh. THAT SHIT SUCKED! It's mostly faded by now but the trauma remains 😅 I've had other injuries that scarred for a while and eventually faded away, but that one will definitely stay with me.

99. Color of your bedspread?

Navy blue! I know people always say when men have navy blue sheets it's a red flag (idk why, it's just what I've heard - don't have to clean them as much maybe? who knows!), but I got mine in that color because it matches my comforter, which is white with navy flowers on it! I promise it's cute and NOT a red flag! They're also really high quality with a nice thread count. I love them!

New Year Writing Tag

What's Been Your Biggest Learning Point This Past Year? I think for me, it's been been note taking! I never used to do that, and I have like 30 notes open in my phone of ideas, future dialogue, scenes, etc. It's helped so much!

How Has Your Writing Developed This Past Year? I think it's gone really well! I struggled a lot in the beginning of the year. I started writing my fic in April and only started posting in July, but thank goodness I took all those months to do it because I could clearly see how different it was between all those months and I was able to edit it to my satisfaction! I feel I've come a long way from where I was just a year ago 💗

Good Writing Habits? Note-taking! So much note-taking! It also helps me sustain my inspiration and motivation. Also, taking breaks to work on other stuff, even things that never see the light of day. It helps me break everything up! 💕

Bad Writing Habits? I have to say straying off on like tumblr or something- I get distracted easily and I really should close those tabs while I'm trying to stay dedicated!! Also, editing while I'm trying to make progress- I tend to get completely engrossed and miss so much development time. *sigh*

Favorite Thing You Wrote? So far, Chapter 6 of With Stars to Fill My Dream. It's my bite-night chapter and I am really proud of it- it has all that fun vampire stuff I like, lots of fun prose, some "Astarion lost in the sauce" moments, and honestly I just really love vampires. It felt good to finally write a bite scene after being obsessed with vampires for most of my life, lol.

Favorite Reads? Man, I haven't been reading actual books in a while, I have dipped into Dracula again recently but I'll link some of my fave fanfics I've read this year!

Until You by @bloodinwine (seriously do yourself a favor and read this fic- it's insanely beautiful, raw, and so powerful. It's such an emotional journey, I have yet to get fully caught up, but my GOD just everything is done so well and I guarantee you'll fall in love with Effy)

Not Your Sweetheart by @kittenintheden (again, another AMAZING fic- I have been in love with Ori since I first read this. She's such a wonderful, quick-witted, lovely character that I am still obsessed with, and again, I've been falling behind in catching up on fics but I'm so excited to finally do so here soon!)

Slip Away Today by @ladyduellist (COWBOY ASTARION!! Need I say more?? I am obsessed with this fic- I love it, I love Lady sm, and it's just. Incredible. YA'LL need to read this because it delivers. Perfect, Old West Faerun)

La Petite Mort by @pinkberrytea (This fic fundamentally changed me on a molecular level. Absolutely amazing and so hot- do yourself a favor and read this for some vampire bite fun and to just melt into the ground. Honestly, anything from Berry just slaps)

Hellish Rebuke by @bludazey (Another fic I NEED to get caught up in, but just SO well written- I've actually had to put my phone down while reading a few times just to *absorb* the words and also take an emotional break. I love Lilith so much and fully intend on descending into this completed masterpiece this year so I can not only show it the love it deserves but finally see where those two end up)

Khywren's Kinktober Series by @khywren (INSANITY. PERFECTION. All of these are AMAZING- I've loved every single one and I am so in love with Ysera and her relationship with Astarion. All of Khy's work is top-notch, and if you're looking for heartwarming writing, amazing smut, and wonderful characterization look no further.)

You'll sense there's a running theme of me being behind in reading, but don't be like me and go read all these!!

Biggest Win? Making friends!! I have been away from anything social like writing and posting fics and art for so long and I feel like I lost so much in those years of stagnation. I finally feel almost like I'm supposed to- happy, excited to experience each day, and desperately lacking in time to do all the things I love, but I persist! 💕

Goals for the New Year? Finishing With Stars to Fill My Dream! I'm starting to write Act 1.5/2 right now, and I'm hoping by the end of the year that I'm closing the book on Ofelia and Astarion's main journey. Hopefully, I'll even be starting the much shorter sequel! I have some plans for these two and I'm really excited to put them into writing. 💕

Your Favorite Word of the Year, AKA the Words You Check Each Chapter for, Making Sure You Didn't Repear them 788 Times? Haha, yes- "rubies", "plush", "fingers", "crimson", "blood". Got a lot of those in there, sorry guys.

What Are You Excited for In the New Year? Catching up on my friend's fics and writing more!! And improving on my art- I haven't been drawing in about 6 years so I'm excited to try and keep improving as much as I can!!

ok so PERSONALLY (!) I don’t like them, mostly bc I don’t understand like half of the terms and it’s hard for me to actually visualize what the writer is tryna have the reader picture. Instead of imagining a person with ears and a tail I end up imagining a literal dog 😭😭 hybrid fics don’t sit right w me esp if it’s smut… anyways ty for the ask!!!

Sven’s Route - Part 2

The group talks about finding a proper name for their newest addition, but how that casual talk could connect with Volke and a lost bond from his childhood? Check it in this new chapter!

“We need to give him a name” – Said Wolter as we finished packing up our stuff and ready to move forward in our travel – “We can’t just call him Chesnaught, right?”

“Are you stupid?” – Argued Volke – “We can’t just name someone else’s Pokémon, right?”

“Do you realize that he is no longer just a Pokémon, right? He is no different than us!”

“Well, I can recognize when I’m being insensible, I’m sorry Chesnaught…”

“No worries!” – He replied, scratching the back of his head –“It’s still hard to get used to it, I still don’t know what exactly I am now… I mean, I’m still a Chesnaught, right?”

“Yeah, we hybrids have some level of pride on what species each of us are”- Started to explain Volke- “I’m a toxtricity raised by a family of musicians, Wolter is a Wooloo who was born in a yarn and we are proud to be like this, feel free to call yourself as you feel like… but… yeah I think we should give you at least a nickname, any ideas?”

He looked straight at me demanding an answer and I panicked, I never named anything before so I just panicked

“He- he is a Chesnaught, so… Chess?”

“That’s the most awfully uninspired nickname I’ve ever heard” – He replied with a disgusted expression and turning to Wolter – “If you can’t come up with something better I’m leaving this band”

“We are not a band, what are you talking about…? Wait, did you just casually mentioned that your family is full of musician? Are they famous?” – Asked Wolter with genuine interest, but by looking at how disgusted Volke’s expression was turning he realized he was going far away from the current topic –“a- anyway, a nickname, hm… what about… let me improvise… Khethocsmagne?”

“How in the hell did you improvised that name!?” – Replied Volke so surprised he almost fell to the floor – “ hm… Khethoc… Khy…what about Khyto? Maybe it’s a bit too cute…”

“Oh I like that! You can call me that!!” – Replied Chesnaught exited – “It sounds cool! Pleased to meet you! I’m Khyto! hahahahaha”

We kept talking as we moved forward, after all Wolter still needed to find someone who would endorse him so he can participate in this year’s gym challenge, he expected to find someone around Motoske city since apparently  it’s well known that those willing to sponsor new trainers are usually at that area in this time.

As we walked behind a large bridge Volke’s phone started to ring, someone was calling him and after looking at it he put a serious face and asked us to wait for him since it was important and it would take him a while.

“Sure, we can take a break and have lunch!” – I said

“Great, just make sure you don’t find another guy in trouble when I’m out, ok?” – He said, half joke, half serious.

…

 But I failed

The next moment we saw each other, I was holding a phantump on my arms.

  Volke walked fast and made sure he was as far away from the group as possible when he was talking to the phone. When he was sure his friends wouldn’t be able to find him quickly he found a spot in the shadow of a berry tree and put his phone against a rock in the floor, it was going to be a video call after all.

“I wasn’t expecting you to call so soon, is this situation this urgent?” – He asked – “Or maybe, you are suspicious of me?  You are glad I have an expensive phone with a reception good enough to properly see my face”

“I knew that you would, after all you are the younger son of that family, right, Volke? Or should I call you by your real name, Khethocsmagne?”

Volke’s real name was Khethocsmagne, his family had the old tradition of coming up with a new and original name for their children to make them feel special since the day of their birth, but that name was only used in formal documents, after all they had to come up with an artistic pseudonym for their public life, “Volke” was that pseudonym.  

“How do you know that stupid name? What the hell is my life anymore, first Wolter casually dropping that name too and now you too, Horacio”

“Sorry sorry, I just wanted to tease you a little, your father used to call you by your real name when you were little, he was super proud for that creation. Last night when you texted me with your phone number to be in contact after Sven’s situation, I remembered that small Toxel that one day told me his name was going to be Volke and I needed to check if my hunch was right”

“Same for me, but how long has it been? 15 years? Sorry to ask this so sudden but… why did you stop visiting us?”

“You know I’ll forever be grateful of your father for giving me the support for my studies, I’ll never be able to pay him back… You know I had to travel for my studies and when I came back to Galar I had so much work to do at the laboratory and then… well… things got complicated and I had to run…”

“I know that, but you should have send me a letter or something at least…” – Replied Volke, turning his head to the left – “You were like a big brother to me you know, better than my own…” – He whispered.

“um? What did you said?” – Asked Horacio, who couldn’t listen to the last part.

“Don’t worry, it’s nothing. Let’s go back to the topic: Sven. What’s going on with him? I mean, besides well, everything around him.”

“Do you know a grimmsnarl named Noah Grimm?”

“Ugh, he is an asshole, my dad pushed me to do some musical work for his company, a little tune for a tv spot or something, I only met him once a couple of years ago and I’m glad our paths have never crossed again. I know it’s an awful Dark-type stereotype but there is something about him that I don’t like, he is… dangerous, he don’t see people as nothing more than test subjects, he gives a strong mad scientist vibe. But what’s going on with him?”

“He is after Sven”- Replied Horacio, his voice almost breaking.

“WHA- What..!? How? Is he aware of his situation!? But as far as I know Sven never left Kalos until this travel, right? Then why…”

“It’s my fault… you see, he and I… we know each other, I did something awful to him in the past and he kept a close eye on me and my friends, right now he is using Sven as a hostage to force me to collaborate with a potentially dangerous work”

“That asshole! Are you ok? I knew he was dangerous…”

“I’m ok, I just need to finish this work and he promised to let us go, and if there is still a part of the Noah I knew when I was young he will keep his word, but even so… I’m scared that he could try to do something bad to Sven if I don’t give him the results he wants”

“Don’t worry Horacio, I’ll protect Sven with my life” –Volke’s words hit Horacio harder than he expected and the old Incineroar couldn’t hold up tears, it was like if all the weight that was on his shoulders since they arrived to Galar had finally loosen up just a little.

Voke waited until his old friend got it together to continue the talk, he had already realized how important was Sven to him with the phone call last night when neither of them was aware they were talking to each other.

“Thank you… *snif* I know I am no one to ask you this, but still, please take care of Sven, he is a dear friend of mine and I couldn’t keep living if something happened to him for my fault…”

“Don’t say that! You are really important to me too… if I can pay you back for those happy days I spend with you back then… I will do my best.”

“Volke… thank you.”

“Then? What’s the plan? What do you think I should do to keep him safe from Noah?”

“Well… I think that just by being by his side is enough to keep him from doing anything risky, after all you are the son of a very powerful person, as long as Sven can keep traveling without knowing about Noah we should be fine”

“I can’t believe the day when I’m glad I was born in a famous family is here… Ok Horacio, I’ll keep a close eye on him for you, he is a good friend to me too after all. You focus on that work for that asshole and let’s meet again to celebrate once this is over!”

“Yeah, I’ll do my best!”

After saying goodbye to Horacio and promising to send him periodic updates of their location Volke was ready to go back to camp when he realized he wasn’t alone, someone was hiding behind the bushes close to the tree he was under and probably listened to their talk. The idea of them being an spy from Noah immediately crossed his mind and got ready to challenge the possible treat, as he hold a pokeball on his hand tiny bits of electricity started to surround him, but they completely dissipated when he saw who was behind the bushes.

“Wait wait it’s just me, Wolter!” – Said the wooloo as he jumped out of the bush – “Man, you are really scary when you get serious…”

“What the hell are YOU doing here!? I made sure no one would be able to follow me!”

“Well… I went to the nearby lake for some water and before I realized I found you…”

“That lake was a couple of feet away from where I left you… to think that you would get lost…” – Volke was exhausted and he dropped to the floor, he was being too paranoid, not even Horacio suggested the possibility of a spy but he was already considering it. The wild area was too large to find a single person and even so they wouldn’t had a reason to spy him after all.

“How long did you hear?”

“From the moment you whispered he was like a brother to you…” – Replied Wolter, a bit ashamed of his unintentional eavesdropping

“So, from the very beginning…”

“Is that Noah guy that dangerous?”

“Yeah, he is the head of a very important laboratory, they not only study odd health-related situations, they even supply people from different regions with vital medicine. To put it simply no one would believe us… all we can do is make sure Sven is safe, that’s all.”

“I see… then I have an idea to make sure he is safe!”

“An idea?”

“Yeah, and a really good one! All we need to do is to make sure Sven joins the Gym Challenge too! Believe it or not the security at gyms is really good, especially for trainers participating, if he is in the eyes of everyone then there is no way that Noah guy would try to kidnap him”

“Hm… that’s not a bad idea, but your plan has a big flaw: Sven doesn’t want to become a Pokémon trainer.”

“tch! You are right… well, I’m sure we can come up with something!”

But we didn’t even had to try, because when we came back to the camp a few minutes later our friend was sitting nervously at the camp holding a shiny Phantump in his arms

9. Best month for you this year?

Lol I'm glad you guys are so interesting in my favorite month! I answered here, but November was my fave this year!

10. Something that made you cry this year?

What the hell, are you trying to show everybody how sensitive I am or something?? (Kidding!) - I'm trying to think of something joyful that may have made me cry........ movies for sure make me cry - I cried most recently at Wicked, I think. What else............I said it in a previous post but I have the memory of a goldfish so I'm having trouble remembering any cries that weren't from the last few weeks 😅 OH! Here's an anecdote where I laughed really hard (maybe it made me cry? Can't remember, but I know it made me laugh SO hard) - I was playing Fortnite with my sister and @kermitwazowski, and we were playing music together, and we were so caught up in the moment that none of us noticed when a car pulled up and started shooting at us 😂 I'd post a video of it, but I don't want to dox usernames. But please trust me, it was so funny and we were screaming absolute bloody murder 😂

14. Favorite book you read this year?

Ah, I was going through my goodreads earlier and Khy, you know most of my year has been spent reading the dreaded Throne of Glass series, but I DID enjoy Bride by Ali Hazelwood. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but unfortunately I'm VERY into fated mates and protectiveness and all that jazz and WHOOPS! I had a blast reading this one. It wasn't a huge thinker, it was just hot and sweet and romantic which was exactly what I needed at the time. Here's the description via goodreads:

17. Post a picture from the end of the year

Here's a silly one: for my birthday, my roommate got me an adorable little Astarion plush that I've been carrying with me throughout our apartment for a few weeks now. I also have an Astarion scented candle from Etsy and I was like......... "And well, what if Astarion smelled like Astarion?" SO for the past few days, I've been putting my little Astarion in a pot with the open candle (which I refuse to burn) and making him smell like Astarion 😂 It wears off after a few hours, but I felt like an absolute GENIUS when I did it the first time. Nobody tell my roommate why I've had our big pot out for the past few days............

Hi m darling, so glad to hear from you again! Thank you for sticking around for so long hahaha things are definitely getting better, at least I feel that way. Thank you for your kind words ♡♡♡ Like I mentioned in another task, I’m back to writing The Muse again. I won’t rush it, but I’ll try to write as much as I can from now on because it’s time. It has been 4 years already lol you guys and the story deserve an ending, and I can’t wait to show you what I’ve come up with :)

And about the someone I mentioned, I’ll make sure to make him the antagonist in my next story and give him a horrible death ( ´ ∀ `)ノ～ ♡

Hey everyone. It’s khy :)don’t know if you still know you follow me or who i am lmao. It’s been so long and I still get notifications from the stuff i wrote. So much notes. Hahah I’m really grateful that it still goes around tumblr but it’s been a while since I actually wrote here. I wish i could continue but my writing motivation isn’t as strong as it was before. And I’m entering my last year of college and I really want it to be a quick one :)

So I’ll keep this page up, I don’t want to deprive anyone of reading my stuff especially since I see a lot of them still getting likes and mentions :) And also because of the fact that I don’t want to delete my writing. Hey, Reader: An Introduction

Hey, Reader :)

You don’t know me, but I’d like us to get to know each other. communication starts with an introduction, and I want to communicate a LOT with you. Which, is why I’ve decided to start a weekly writing segment, where I touch on random -yet (sort of) timely- topics, and offer some advice, accordingly. But, in order to get to the fun stuff, we have to get past the introduction, now don’t we?

My name is Khy. I live in a lively town called Philadelphia. You may have run up those “Rocky” steps we’re so famous for, or eaten one of those greasy, yet delicious cheese steaks. I’m two years younger than the legal drinking age in the U.S. In my leisure, I like writing poetry, or trophy hunting in video games. And, I’m also very avid for speaking my mind on things that mean a lot, or peak my interest.

Which is what brings us here: the “why” and “how” of this whole shindig.

You see, we live in the age of blogging, Reader. It’s what gives us all ears to listen to what we have to say, and voices to listen to. It’s something that brings us humans together. Now, who are we -you and I- to not partake? 

You are my ears, reader. And, I am your voice. Once a week, we’ll communicate as such, in a neat editorial style text, and, with your response via the comment section (Hey, we’re getting to that “fun stuff” part!).

To close this introduction, here’s a little more to the inspiration of this little project of mine. A good friend once told me, “Take up space, Khy!”. And, with this - and with you, Reader- I plan on doing just that. And bringing us all a little closer together.

[[ I think Razok has definitely been my favorite this last year. He (and Sozal to a degree) have been my most active muses and they’ve both gone through a lot of development. Even a full year later I’m still finding new things to do for them and I feel like they’re going to be muses that I’ll be keeping around for a long time. ]]

[[ ( @starbound-surviivxr ) Vynera has also been a huge favorite for me lately as well. She’s not quite as active right now, but I’m working out new ideas for her every day it feels like. I love her in the fact that she’s completely original and therefore has no boundaries. My only gripe is that because there’s so little to go off of, starting threads can be a bit more difficult. ]]

[[ ( @amanipxwer ) And finally a bit of a throwback: Khyrodius was a character I played from the game TERA, big guy, bigger armor, old and grumpy but still had a good heart. I haven’t written him in a long ass time considering the fandom for Tera is essentially non-existent aside from big sweaty weaboos flaunting their Elins around in maids dresses acting like they’re the coolest thing since sliced cheese, but I digress. I still love Khy with all my heart and have managed to keep his blog around all this time, which I think speaks volumes. ]]

Top four favorite shows:

[[ I’ll be honest when I say I’m not much of a tv person. I prefer things that can keep me engaged and busy, but I do have a list of shows I used to watch when I was younger: 

Tom & Jerry: I watched this show a LOT when I was growing up and it’s still my favorite to this day. I honestly think the show is very underrated and was easily better than a lot of the stuff we see today for kids.

America’s Funniest Home Videos: I used to watch this show every night during dinner time. It was very family friendly and gave us some entertainment while we ate.

Ghost Adventures: I still watch this show every now and again considering I’m a huge paranormal nut. Even got to the point where I was tempted to grab my sister and go on a huge paranormal hunting spree but alas, we lacked the equipment and funds lol still something I’d like to do someday, though.

Fairy Tail: One of only two Animes I actually watched and enjoyed, aside from Overlord. I love the idea of a fantasy world of magic users and the variety of magic that’s used gets broader every day, from something as simple as Element Magic (Fire, water, ice, etc.) to Script Magic, Holder Magic, and Transformation Magic - and that’s just scratching the surface of all the different types and uses. This show is also where I get my ooc faceclaim from. ]]
