Ranveer Singh on Padmavati: There were times I wouldn’t get it and I’d leave the set and cry

Ranveer Singh will be next seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Padmavati. He will be playing the role of an antagonist for the first time in the film.

About working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the third time, he revealed in an interview with a magazine, “Mr. Bhansali has always had a very hands-off approach with me in the previous two films, (Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani); he lets me free style, but this time he had a clear vision of what he wanted, the way he wanted Alauddin Khijli to be. So, take his direction and try and apply it was very challenging, some times. And there were times I wouldn’t get it and I’d leave the set and cry. And come back and try to finish it.”

He added, “I don’t cry very often, but I am not one of those people who don’t cry either. I cry, it’s okay, it’s healthy.”

About the controversies surrounding the film, Ranveer said, “I am a very differently wired person, so for me, the process itself is the prize. I really feel for my director and producer, who is very special to me and I have the utmost regard for him as a creative mentor- he really helped me unleash and unlock my potential as an artist, he’s made me the actor I am today. To see him suffer this way really troubles me, but for my part, just the fact that I went out and shot this film for one full year, is the prize itself.”

Deepika looks 'pure royalty' in first look poster of 'Padmavati'

Hold your breath guys! Deepika Padukone's first look as Rani Padmavati is out and it is surely a perfect sync with the commencement of the auspicious festival of Navratras.

The Mastani of Bollywood star took to Twitter and shared the first look of herself from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmavati'.

The makers came up with the look and she posted it on her social media handles, captioning it in Hindi, which says, "On the auspicious occasion of Navratras, meet Queen padmavati Devi."

Two posters that are set to bring in royalty to its truest sense, sees Deepika as Ran Padmavati, in her ghaghra-choli and exquisite jewelry.

Yesterday, the film's lead cast Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor announced, "Queen Padmavati will appear at sunrise" on their social media accounts.

The Hilbert-Markum lore was so interesting to me, I almost wrote an entire spinoff for the older generation.

The backstory of Anaka’s parents is one of the most intriguing yet HORRIFYING pieces of lore I have ever written, mainly because of how loyal it is to the doll games (reminder, I played these games from when I was 5-14)

Padmavati: Deepika Padukone looks incredibly beautiful in THIS new poster

After the trailer launch of Sanjau Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Padmavati, leading lady Deepika Padukone has been receiving rave responses for her look as Queen Padmini. Her song from the film, Ghoomar, has also been a favorite of the masses. The team has now launched a new poster for the INTERNATIONAL audience. The movie will release a day prior, on 30th November in some countries.

Two posters of Deepika Padukone have already been launched by the team. In the newly launched poster, Deepika can be seen adorning exquisite jewelry and her attire is absolutely stunning. Deepika looks jaw-droppingly stunning in her minimal make-up look. She is seen donning a red ghaghra-choli that has intricate handwork and looks every bit royal. The makers also plan on launching Shahid Kapoor’s and Ranveer Singh’s posters for the international audience.

This is Deepika’s third association with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali after Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. Shahid Kapoor will be seen playing the role of Queen Padmini’s husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh and Deepika’s alleged boyfriend, Ranveer Singh will be seen playing the role of an antagonist, Alauddin Khijli who is mesmerized by her beauty.

About the film, Deepika had said, “It's been a while since I have been so nervous. I can't remember the time I was so nervous.
