FINALLY DONE, I say, after three weeks of procrastination.  A revised reference for Khieras- and honestly I don’t know why I bothered, considering the changes are pretty much moot since I don’t see them ever being applied.  They were going to be implemented after his current arc, really, but after the events of this arc...  Well.

His neck feathers were very much inspired off the cracks in semi-solidified lava.  The roots of the feathers there have that yellow-to-red gradient at the roots before turning black (the very bottom of the feather roots are actually white, but his feathers are too dense to actually properly expose the white roots), and how much of it is exposed depends on how his feathers are laying and/or are ruffled.  Which is why the ripples of yellow-red are inconsistent every time.  Yes.  An actual reason and not an excuse.  Totally.  *Sweats profusely*

He is a big boy with an enormous wingspan to get sufficient lift and a rudder-like tail to try and compensate the clumsiness of this bulkier build, but he’s arguably more comfortable actually on the ground, hence the heavier reference on a raptor’s build than his previous more hawk-like form.
