FFXIV Write 2023 - Prompt #3: Silence
Reverent.
There was no other word for the silence that lingered between the two of them, amongst tender, slowly exploratory kisses. And yet, were she to close her eyes, she knew his mouth as well as she knew her own. His lips slid across hers, warm and wet, his tongue teasing, tasting, his long hair tickling her bare shoulders, clad only in war paint and cloth straps.
There was nothing awkward about this silence. The little shaman didn't feel the need to fill the void with flirty words or sassy teases, as she normally would have. It had taken them so long to get to this point, but this was right. It felt right. The bridging of their past lives as lovers to the present - not just lovers, but as soul mates. Khel.
Dear Khel, who had waited half a lifetime to find her again. To find his little Sunspark.
He kissed her throat and she lifted her chin, gathering the strands of his hair at the nape of his neck. She stared at the stars through the little vent-hole at the top of the yurt and thought about how much she loved him, in so little time. Her heart had known what her head hadn't. Her heart had known just how it fit inside his, so perfectly, how her body molded to his, as if she had been made for him.
How could it be that she could love three, so deeply and steadfastly, all so different in their own ways? Strong, brooding Altan, sweet, kind Ganzorig, and now Khel, who had brought memories back to her that she knew in her heart were true of their lives together on the Steppe.
Burying his face in the crook of her neck, he inhaled deeply of her scent. He'd told her no, but what she hadn't realized was that it hadn't been a no. It had been a not yet. This rejoining of bodies and hearts was going to be a soft thing, a sweet and poignant thing, one of coaxing past lives to the surface, one that wouldn't be complete until he knew every inch of her body again, and she of his. It was to be a reawakening. "I love you," she whispered, barely a breath, gripping his hair to make him look up at her. "I love you."
These words that he'd only heard for the first time in this life moments ago, these words, she wanted to impress upon him. That she, in this life, loved him. He smiled, and it was perfect. Just for her. Just as it always had been, just as it always would be.

Today, I decided to be ambitious and I drew @kemendin's Khel with Quinn. I still have a long ways to go before I get to where I want to be with my art, but being able to get this far has been really great.

koa khel-halcyon is so funny. here's this guy wrapped up in so much grief and guilt, who has been temporally displaced to such a wild and unfathomable degree as a result of being frozen for essentially ~2000 years, who has lost everything and everyone he knows save for one person (miraculously), and he has to acclimate to an entirely different jedi order than what he knows - to an entirely different galaxy - and on top of all of that … he's space southern
#» vin.txt#character » koa khel-halcyon.#corellians are southern and i'll never change my mind. you cannot convince me otherwise#anyway. koa effectively being a jedi-not-jedi cowboy. speaking in the most insufferable southern drawl >>#he was thawed from his carbonite tomb; said all of 3 words before throwing up and passing out;#and the jedi who had found him and gotten him out were like ahhh fuck. it's a corellian. put him back - (/j)

spotify wrapped :)
(plus lots of rambling in the tags)
#“you listened to two genres” was the FIRST slide. spotify is so mean to me actually#also i do have a lot of thoughts abt this#like i use spotify for writing also? which isn’t really reflected on here bc it’s more spread out across a lot of songs (mainly skyrim for-#studying and like vincent diamante/austin wintory for creative stuff) - but it did skew the genres a bit which is cool#like i don’t think this is making it less accurate to be clear! just kinda interesting idk#oh my god also. forgot to mention. i got spotify in JULY. hozier 1% i am insane#if there’s one thing i’ll do it’s put a song on loop for an unreasonable number of days. irl mutual you probably know this hi <3#also hey should i post character playlists on here??#i have abt an hour and a half each for caleb essek n khel (with a lot of overlap probably lol)#yea. i should probably post on here more often <3 big shoutout if any of yall actually read this all the way through

Can you tell me about your other Swtor Ocs?
By 'other' I'm gonna assume 'ones who are not my main lads Cas and Khel' haha. So let's see....
Damaskh, aka Cipher Twelve: My Imperial Agent, who actually doesn't follow the game's IA storyline. Genderfluid half Zeltron, half Sith pureblood. His specialties are disguise and infiltration, primarily for longterm undercover missions. He's a background character - I really don't have a lot of actual story or plot for him, except when he pops up occasionally in Khel's world, but I do find his 'casual but deadly' manner to be immensely entertaining.
Darius Serapis: My canon Republic Trooper, and Caspian's older brother. He's a die-hard Republic loyalist with a no-nonsense attitude, sometimes harsh and unyielding, but he's got an excellent reputation among the lower ranks as a commander who never leads from the back or leaves a soldier behind. He and Cas do share a fierce family loyalty to one another, even if they disagree on a lot of things.
Emryn Solari: A Republic medic who's highly Force sensitive but actually declined to join the Jedi, preferring to serve as a field medic in the military. He often comes off as naive and mild-mannered, but he's surprisingly level-headed when working under fire. He was Caspian's best friend when they were growing up on Corellia, and he joins Cas' crew as their medic during Chapter 3 of the JK story (basically replacing Doc, who doesn't join up in my canon).
Maahes: A Sith battle prodigy who defected to the Jedi at the tail end of the Great War, and who is now a respected if somewhat maverick Jedi Master. Stern but kind, he has an understated sense of humour which I adore, and is often tasked with chaperoning groups of Jedi-in-training on field trips. He's also Caspian's former mentor, and something of an unspoken father figure for Cas.
Shod'al Kur, aka Darth Syphon: Similar vibes to the Sith Inquisitor story, only a few generations earlier, aka former slave who clawed his way to power and now sits on the Dark Council. He's far more about cunning than brute force, and always has a feel out for the pulse of how things are going in the Sith Order. He's a newer OC, so I don't know a lot more about him yet - but I do know that he went through Sith training with Maahes, and the two became friends, then lovers, and while Maahes defected, Shod'al refused to give up his place of power and remained in the Empire.
Vanirr Kel-Su - My canon-ish Jedi Consular. He embodies everything the Jedi are supposed to be, in the layman's eye - good and bad. He's calm and scholarly, an exceptional diplomat and excellent at sneaking around to find the path of least violence, both literally and figuratively. Unfortunately, he knows he's all of this, and so he's also quite preachy and thinks he can handle anything, especially all those dangerous artefacts out there. He and Caspian went through Jedi training together - they didn't get along then, and they don't get along now.
Ibis: A non-canon-story smuggler who's really out there just to cause some chaos and then sit back with popcorn. They live for danger and entertainment - credits are just a bonus. Like Damaskh, more of a background character till they deign to tell be more about themself.

Silly little thing I thought of!
I had the idea where people can send some asks in for my different OCs, and I'd answer them in character! It would be super fun, plus, I can introduce some newer people to y'all!
Oki, the roster is:
- Icarus
- Khel
- Siber
- Ralti
- Mautur
- Lais
- Hale
These are just my personal OCs, if you know of my other characters that are inserts for a series (Sammy, Palmer, Wynn, etc) then feel free to ask them stuff as well!

spoilers for the newest scanlated ToG chapter under the cut
if im understanding the most recent ToG chapter correctly, at the time of the flashback the 10GF and Jahad had already sealed their own memories once? the incident that Gustang is learning about from the book Bam absorbed is, I assume, roughly analogous to the current flashback - although interestingly the current flashback lacks a single focal character; much of the recent chapters centers around Traumerei and Enkidu but a variety of things have happened throughout the recent chapters that aren't known to either of them. these don't seem to be Gustang's memories either.
It's almost more like the collective memories of the major figures from that time were sealed. However, there may be a different explanation. The book is not the only source of 10GF memories in Bam - he also has the Leviathan that Traumerei sealed his memories inside. a lot of people, myself included, have been asking why Bam needed the Leviathan powerup at this point in the story. I think this might be why.
The power of the Leviathan hasn't been particularly well defined, which might be because the powerup is a complete red herring, and the main reason SIU had Bam absorb the Leviathan was to justify the commingling of Traumerei's memories with Gustang's
Gustang went into this in search of his own memories, but he got Traumerei's as well. This might change Gustang's agenda going forward pretty significantly, compared to what it would have been if he just recovered his own memories.
To return to my initial confusion, it seems that the 10GF already had their memories of a particular incident sealed some time before the events we are currently seeing. My interpretation of the timeline is something like this:
10GF and their companions ascend to 134th floor. Something happens here, 10GF choose to seal their memories about it and stop climbing. Jahad may or may not also have his memories sealed at this time.
Various parties dissatisfied with the decision make moves against, or at least in defiance of, Jahad and 10GF.
This dovetails with Enkidu's inferiority complex and Traumerei's incel awakening, leading to some kind of major disaster probably involving the deaths of Traumerei's fiancee and one or more other important figures.
10GF choose to have their memories sealed, imprison Enkidu, and vow to no longer concern themselves with Regulars. Once again, Jahad may or may not also have his memories sealed at this time.
The thing that sticks in my craw abt this timeline a little bit is the emphasis on Enkidu's feelings of inferiority and the way the 10GF and their travel companions already seem to put their connections to each other above their more recent relationships. It doesn't explicitly contradict the prev narrative of the event with Enkidu causing the 10GF to distance themselves from the Regulars but it does seem like there is already a kind of explicit rule the 10GF follow governing their relationship to the Regulars.
Maybe this is the case, and what we are seeing is the sequence of events that led to the rule being changed. If true, this is interesting in itself. It seems to imply that the Great Warriors and their travel companions had some kind of internal code of conduct prior to Jahad declaring himself King of the Tower. If this is true, it could be that all of the anti-Jahad movements we're seeing up to the present from FUG and the "revolution" have their roots in an early schism of this group.
It's been very odd to me how easily the revolution has been able to identify and exploit the internal politics of both the Po Bidau and Lo Po Bia families. I had previously chalked it up to the sort of prognostic ability displayed by Guides, Khel Hellam and others - abilities we can be fairly confident that the Captain/Boss has been utilizing since the time of Genesis.
But if FUG and the revolution are led by old traveling companions of the Great Warriors, we have a decidedly less magical explanation for how effectively they're manipulating everything right now.

35 for oc asks
[Little OC Creation Asks]
35. What things do you most want to see in someone’s OC? Or what do you always find the most interesting? Or stimulating, if you’re in that sort of mood?
I... honestly just want people to have fun with their blorbos? I genuinely do not have to get anything or everything, but if I see someone is getting joy out of their blorbo and sharing their blorbo lore, fuck yes tell me more about blorbo from your brain!!!!
Though I suppose I find interesting threads in themes like loyalty and devotion. If I may plug some amazing mutuals (fic rec fic rec fic rec!!), @kemendin draws me in with Khel & Quinn, Cas & Scourge with such themes, @eorzeashan's Eight's dynamic with Jadus has genuinely changed my understanding of Imperial Agent, I think, in such a delectable way and Eight just fascinates me. I want to study him under a microscope. And @captainderyn has me hooked on Five (I have... a thing for troubled Imperial Agents. Can you tell???) and I'm adopting Roslynd and the terrible little dysfunctional agent family that is Era, Five, and Ros. I'm getting Mor lore about her Struggle(TM) to Represent and just khghlfdaflsdf. BUFFET. I AM BEING FED. SO WELL.
They're all amazing ocs who have incredibly passionate creators behind them and it just shows in what they go through. I love the journey of finding what motivates a character, what drives them, what do they value, what do they value enough to break for, to live for? What's their dynamic like with the people who see them like no one else? I will always show up for that buffet.
So, I guess if I had to sort of itemize the list as like development questions, who or what are they loyal to? What does loyalty mean/look like to them? Is it important to them to keep promises, their word, etc.? Is that different for people they're close with and people they know just more professionally? Do they like what they're doing, their current direction in life, etc.? Is there something they'd change? Is there someone or something that makes or would make them want to change? I love to see their connections.
But I literally cannot emphasize enough how much joy I get just from people enjoying their characters. That's your fuckin' EPIC blorbo that you shared! That can take a lot!!!! And if I could, I'd fight everyone who ever made that process difficult because the joy I've been lucky enough to experience rather consistently in my time in fandom has been sharing and connecting with other people over love for characters - and a lot of it has been through ocs. I am constantly delighted by being able to share in that process with others. Be ungovernable!!!!!! Be obnoxious!!!! It's good for the soul!!!! This is the blorbo website!!!!! I can and I WILL make homemade sharpie rooting for them signs if that will make your experience better!!!!

guys, i have a confession to make.
i have a shark familiar. yeah. her name is khels (pronounced 'kells') and whenever i summon her, she bites the heads off whoever we're fighting and lets the blood ooze. she's one of my best friends, and we've killed a lot of people together. i also frequently explore this place called the deep down. it's like a dark and spiritually eerie version of the world we know inhabited by shadow people. i'm so well known, i basically run the place.
i'm sorry this is how you guys found out. i hope you'll all forgive me. 😔
------
hi. that was all a lie. i don't have a shark familiar (though that'd be cool), and i don't explore the deep down (it doesn't even exist)
but my oc does!
this is aria. she stars in a series i'm creating named puppe. khels is her familiar and she's so well known she basically runs this alternate world. she fights a lot of people, and enjoys every moment of it.
her last name is lindemann, and she was created with till lindemann in mind and he inspired her look, hence the black face paint (to resemble his in adieu), and while her own character is still pretty light despite her enjoyment of violence, applying the logic of "if someone writes about abuse they're probably an abuser" to aria and by extension me would mean that i'm also a murderer who takes pleasure in fighting and causing carnage with a shark as my familiar.
i'm not, btw. i don't condone violence or murder. but that doesn't mean i don't enjoy writing about it.
my point is, it's a bit shitty to hold till to this standard when so much other stuff exists that touches on the same topics. if you think till's an abuser or a rapist because of the poems and lyrics he writes, there's a lot of stuff you should probably stop consuming. here's a good list by theelliotsmiths. (scroll to the bottom)
till, you'll never read this, but i love you, and i'm so glad i gave you a chance. i'm no longer feel guilty or afraid to be a rammstein fan. we all love you so much, and i just wanna give you a huge hug. you'll be my muse for ages to come, along with the other boys. you can rest now.
#i'm so happy for him#if you even dare and argue with me you'll be blocked btw so don't even try#we can lay all of this to rest now.#rammstein#till lindemann#medoh squawks#oc: aria lindemann#cw sa mention#cw abuse mention#cw violence#cw blood mention

Hi lovely! I may have missed the boat somewhere but why the name change? What does Khel mean, in reference to you anyway? Not to be too nosey but I'm an inquiring mind! I hope all is well with you. 😁🥰
Hey!
I just felt like a bit of a change, but didn't want to change it too much. And it brings my username here more in line with how I think of myself as a writer. I think of myself in different roles with different names, if that makes sense?
Khel is a shortened form of Kheldar, a character from David Eddings' Belgariad series (such a fun fantasy series if you're looking for recommendations).

#STORYHAUNT.
a writing & roleplay blog, dedicated to several characters across sources. placing focus on original characters. mutuals only, and will exclusively interact with those who are 20+. basic rp etiquette applies. portrayed by vincent (he/him, 21+). rules and muses below the cut.
written in affiliation with … @proditeur, @redemnation, @cloistress
RULES.
this blog is 18+, and only interacts with muns who are 20 years of age and older. mature and otherwise triggering themes will be present on this blog, including but not limited to; general violence, discussion of mental health, and gore. i will rarely write anything intimate in nature, though the motivation may occasionally arise. all topics will be tagged accordingly. if you need anything specific tagged, or i forget to properly tuck something away, just shoot me a message and i'll take care of that.
i generally do not follow duplicates. this one may be a bit harder to keep up with, due to the fact that i will not be broadcasting my canon muses, but nevertheless, i am still going to be cautious when it comes to blogs which write the same characters as i do. miscommunications happen all too frequently in the rpc, and i would rather avoid potential drama altogether.
if you're going to unfollow me, i ask that you at least soft block. i will extend the same courtesy to you, unless your rules specifically state to hard block.
i am slow. there are going to be frequent bouts of inactivity, and writing will not happen every day. writing, being on this blog, it's a hobby, and i am an adult with a million and one responsibilities to prioritize above it.
i will not interact with anything that has to do with the boys, hazbin hotel, or disney star wars. there may be an extreme few exceptions for the utmost latter, but otherwise, i have no interest in touching or writing any of these things.

One of my favorite things in fiction is mutation and hybridization, especially if it happens to pre-existing characters (e.g., they were born a normal human, but then changed later on). This also ties into some of my common headcannons for my Conan Exiles character. Either:
1.) the character is a lesser demon from the Outer Dark, and either built itself a body (like Khosatral Khel in the Conan story The Devil in Iron) or somehow gathered a cult that made them a body.
2.) A sorcerer that went Too Far with their experiments with magic.
3.) An alchemist that Fucked Around and Found Out, mutating themself with experimental procedures.
4.) An actual literal extraterrestrial, like Yag-Kosha in the Conan story The Tower of the Elephant.
5.) One that I haven't thought of until right now, but a human that was chosen and altered by one of the gods of the setting. This could tie in with 2 I suppose. Both 2 and 5 can be justified with the mutation of normal humans into Imps, as seen in Exiles, due to the influence of the altar to Hanuman causing latent magical corruption in the area.
6.) A Deviant, as sometimes Conan lore intersects with Marvel Comics

I do enjoy the unconventional combos! My two main ones:
Khel, my Sith Warrior. I think way back in the mists of time, he started out as just #aesthetic, but I've since incorporated his being Mirialan into large chunks of his story. He hails from a planet of my own creation, which is one of the few loyal Imperials planets with a predominantly alien population, and that gives him a unique perspective. I also just really enjoy exploring the clash of an alien character who's incredibly proud to be Sith and steadfastly devoted to the Empire. He's well aware of his uphill struggle, but he uses his experience as an alien to try and bring the Empire into a new, more progressive era.
And then this is Maahes, who's not a class story character, but the Jedi Master who trained Caspian, my canon JK. Maahes was a Sith battle prodigy who defected to the Jedi during the tail end of the Great War, a) because he saw the war as pointless and b) because he was very curious about the Jedi and their ways, and daringly surrendered himself to them (and, eventually, after much struggle, became a well respected member of the Order). When I was inventing Cas' mentor figure, I settled specifically on a Sith pureblood because I wanted an unconventional master for an unconventional padawan (Cas was a handful, okay?), and also because this ties into Cas being more open to working with Scourge later on - he's already had experience with one pureblood, and doesn't have the same prejudices or assumptions another Jedi might have.
(Also I just love purebloods. One of my fave Star Wars species.)
swtor people!
do you have any characters of unconventional species-class combos? pureblood troopers, mirialan sith, chiss jedi, you name it.
why did you decide on that combination? was it just the cool factor or did you have some elaborate backstory in mind?

Played through the False Emperor flashpoint for GS stuff (I'm way behind but I can't really care that much) and now I'm having feelings again over how that all goes down in my canon:
Basically, when Malgus pulls his little coup, it's Khel who reaches out to the Republic forces - and in doing so, to Caspian - to be all 'Hey. Common enemy here, right? Let's take him down together and both sides will be minus one problem.' This is Cas' first direct contact with Khel, and he's definitely surprised by how calm and reasonable the new Emperor's Wrath seems to be. But all things considered, there doesn't seem to be a better option here, so it's agreed - they'll work together to stop Malgus.
Thus the strike team that infiltrates Malgus' station consists of Cas, Kira, Scourge, Khel, and Quinn (and maybe I'll add other characters later when and if I actually write this fic, but those are the main players here). An extremely capable, if rather tense, group of people, who are sure to get the job done, and Khel is even gracious enough to let Cas take the lead on this one.
Unfortunately, Malgus' space station is not just any old space station - it's the repurposed Emperor's fortress, where Cas, not too long ago, was imprisoned for the most horrific six months of his life. He knows this, he's really not excited about the prospect of being there again, but he ignores Kira's suggestion that he stay behind and insists on going there anyway, because he's Cas. He has to keep going, he has to push through.
Aaaand it turns out, he can't. He still doesn't remember much of what happened to him here, which is probably for the best, but one thing he does remember is the environment. The shining black walls, the searing white and scarlet lights, the hollow chill gnawing at his flesh. He makes it a few corridors into the place, maybe, but then he starts getting flashes of memories, and fear overcomes him, and he nearly has a full blown breakdown right there because he can't, he can't, he can't endure this again.
He's in no condition to continue the mission - but he can't exactly just up and leave again, either. So instead, the group splits. Kira takes Cas and finds a corner close to the hangar where they can hunker down, and from there Cas uses his slicing expertise to try and cut through some of the fortress' defences. Meanwhile, Khel takes the lead in finding Malgus with Quinn, and Scourge goes with them to serve as a guide, because even with Malgus' upgrades to the place, Scourge still knows most of the station's strengths and weaknesses better than anyone.
Nobody has a good time on this trip. Cas feels incredibly humiliated at breaking down like this, particularly in front of the Imperials, and Kira is really trying not to be 'I told you so' about asking him to stay behind, because she was here before too, she gets it, and now she just wants to make sure they all make it out alive. In the other party, Khel is still technically recovering from certain other Incidents on Ilum (Fractures in the Ice, still a WIP, sorry lol), and is just a tiny bit nervous around Scourge, given this former/current Wrath dynamic they've got going on here. Scourge, for his part, is not impressed with either his replacement or the Emperor's, and makes very little effort to hide his contempt for both Khel and Malgus - he just wants to be done with this. And Quinn is trotting along behind them just praying there isn't going to be a fight between them over their current positions, and also putting a whole lot of effort into keeping his mouth shut over the fact that Scourge is a clearly unrepentant traitor.
When it comes to actually confronting Malgus - there's a definite difference of opinions going on. Khel is actually in agreement with Malgus, to a point - he approves of change, particularly with utilising the varied attributes of aliens to strengthen the Empire, and he tries to talk Malgus down. Scourge, however, sees only a chaotic, power-grabbing pretender on the throne, and simply attacks in the middle of Khel's attempted negotiations, because he sees what Khel does not - that Malgus is never going to compromise here.
It's only during the actual fight with Malgus that Scourge gains a little respect for Khel, when he sees that Khel can fight as well as talk. They're both quite adept at reading someone else's movements, so it doesn't take them long to find a working rhythm and be able to coordinate their attacks. Quinn, of course, is used to fighting beside a Force user, and weaves himself in there with his usual competence. It's not an easy fight, but per canon flashpoint etc they manage to defeat Malgus and then hotfoot it out of there, while Cas and Kira make their escape separately.
I think on the way back to Ilum there is a definite moment of danger between Scourge and Khel/Quinn; Scourge is still a traitor, after all, and Khel knows that the Dark Council would just love to get their hands on him. But Khel isn't the type to turn on an ally, however temporary - and besides that, after fighting alongside Scourge, he's not stupid enough to try and take the other Sith by force. So Scourge is returned to his Jedi friends - much to Cas' relief - and the two groups go their separate ways, until the next time their player decides to mash them together.
#swtor#swtor:caspian#swtor:khel#kem oc#kem rambles#look at me actually thinking about swtor again and not just bg3 lol#anyway i love squishing these guys all together and being entertained by the dynamics
