Dharma Eye by Talon Abraxas
Meaning of Symbols Common to Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism
1.The Dharma Wheel is the main Buddhist symbol, but it also appears in Hinduism and Jainism. It represents Dharmic views on morality and cosmic law. With eight spokes, it denotes the moral virtues on the Buddhist Eightfold Path.
2.The Swastika is an ancient symbol. Clockwise, it represents the motion of the Sun in Hinduism. Counterclockwise, it is the night and the Hindu goddess Kali. In Buddhism, it symbolizes Buddha's footprints and the cycle of life. In Jainism, the arms denote the four types of rebirth for the soul.
3.The Lotus flower symbolizes divinity, perfection, immortality, and various Hindu deities. In Buddhism, it expresses purity of the body and mind. In Jainism, semi-divine prophets are represented by or seated upon them.
4.The Endless Knot or "Srivatsa" and Pair of Fish appear in Ashtamangala: a set of eight symbols (most are pictograms of sacred objects) that differ between traditions. The knot represents unity, the cycle of rebirth, and wisdom entwined with compassion. The fish symbolize happiness, freedom, and fearlessness.
5.Symbols may be combined into Yantra, which usually have T-shapes on their borders to symbolize inner enlightenment. They may be associated with deities, luck, protection, or used as meditative aids.
Meaning of Other Hindu Symbols
1.The Om appears in all Dharmic traditions (variously translated), although it is technically a written symbol. It is included here because it has become the main symbol of Hinduism. It represents the supreme, divine consciousness.
2.The Ouroboros appears in several religious traditions (the oldest may be Ancient Egypt; see below). In Hindu mythology, it is one of the animals that holds up the world.
3.The Conch shell or "Shankha" represents Vishnu, water, female fertility, longevity, and prosperity.
Meaning of Other Buddhist Symbols
1.The Conch shell also appears in Buddhism. It can be used as a trumpet and thus represents the awakening influence of Buddhist teachings.
2.The Triratna represents the three jewels of Buddhism: the Buddha (enlightened one), Dharma (teachings), and Sangha (clergy).
3.A Bodhi tree is where Buddha achieved awakening, and its symbol thus represents liberation and nirvana.
4.Buddha footprints represent Buddha as a man, and as following a path that all humans can therefore follow.
5.Buddha eyes symbolize his all-seeing nature. Their display may promote moral behavior in a society.
Meaning of Other Jain Symbols
1.The Nandavarta symbolizes teaching, enlightenment, joy, and prosperity.
2.The Ahimsa represents the principle of non-violence (beginning with non-violence against oneself).
Meaning of Sikh Symbols
1.The Khanda is the primary Sikh symbol. It stands for the provision of charity and protection to those who need it.
2.The Harr Nishan is a symbol of the Ravidassia branch of Sikhism. It represents the goal of enlightenment through worship, meditation, and singing.

Journey Through Sikh History: Fun Learning for Kids
Tumblr media
Why Teach Sikh History to Kids?
Sikhism is a faith centered around important values like equality, justice, and service to others. Teaching children about Sikh history can help them understand the significance of these values and inspire them to adopt positive qualities like courage, kindness, and fairness. Here are a few key reasons why Sikh history is valuable for kids:
Promotes Equality: One of the key teachings of Sikhism is the idea that all people are equal, regardless of their background, caste, or gender. Learning about the life of Guru Nanak and the other Sikh Gurus helps children understand the importance of treating everyone with respect and dignity.
Instills a Sense of Service: Sikhism emphasizes the importance of selfless service (Seva). By learning about the Sikh Gurus‘ contributions to the community, children are inspired to help others and engage in acts of kindness.
Empowers Through Stories of Courage: The stories of the Sikh Gurus, especially Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Guru Hargobind Ji, are full of bravery and determination in the face of adversity. These stories encourage children to stand up for what is right and to be strong in difficult situations.
With these values in mind, let’s explore how you can bring Sikh history to life for kids through engaging, fun, and educational activities.
1. Engaging Storytelling: Bringing Sikh History to Life
Storytelling is one of the most powerful tools for teaching children. Children naturally love stories, and Sikh history is filled with fascinating and inspiring tales of the Gurus‘ lives. Using simple language and colorful descriptions, you can bring these stories to life in a way that captivates their imagination.
Tips for Effective Storytelling:
Simplify Complex Concepts: When sharing stories from Sikh history, use language that children can easily understand. Focus on the central message and key values in each story. For example, when telling the story of Guru Nanak’s travels, highlight the core message of equality and peace.
Use Visual Aids: Incorporate pictures, illustrations, or even videos to help children visualize the events you’re describing. There are plenty of books, cartoons, and online resources available that depict Sikh history in a way that is easy for kids to follow.
Involve the Kids: Make the storytelling interactive. Ask questions and encourage kids to share their thoughts. For example, after telling the story of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the creation of the Khalsa, ask children what they think being a part of the Khalsa would have been like.
By turning historical events into engaging stories, children will feel connected to the teachings and values of Sikhism.
2. Interactive Sikh History Games and Quizzes
Games are an excellent way to make learning fun. Kids love playing games, and when you incorporate elements of Sikh history, you can teach them important lessons while they play. Games help children retain information while keeping them engaged and entertained.
Game Ideas:
Sikh History Bingo: Create bingo cards that feature important Sikh symbols, historical events, and figures from Sikh history. For example, you could include images of the Khanda, Guru Nanak, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and the Golden Temple. As you call out the names or descriptions, children can mark them off on their cards. The first person to complete a row wins!
Sikh Trivia Quiz: Create a trivia quiz about Sikh history, with questions such as “Who was the first Sikh Guru?” or “What year was the Khalsa founded?” This is a great way to test children’s knowledge and challenge them to learn more about Sikhism.
Matching Game: Design a memory matching game where kids have to match the name of a Sikh Guru to an important event or teaching in their life. This helps children better understand the connections between historical figures and their contributions to Sikhism.
Games like these encourage children to learn in a playful, interactive way while reinforcing key concepts about Sikh history.
3. Hands-On Sikh History Craft Activities
Crafts and DIY projects are a great way to keep children engaged while learning about Sikhism. By creating things related to Sikh history and culture, children can learn about Sikhism’s symbols, important figures, and traditions in a hands-on way.
Craft Ideas:
Create a Khanda Symbol: The Khanda is an important Sikh symbol that represents the unity of God, Guru, and community. Help children make their own Khanda using materials like paper, clay, or cardboard. As they work on the craft, explain the symbolism of the Khanda and its significance in Sikhism.
Sikh Guru Paper Dolls: Create simple paper dolls of Sikh Gurus, such as Guru Nanak or Guru Gobind Singh Ji. You can dress the dolls in traditional Sikh attire and write short descriptions of each Guru’s teachings on the back. Children can color the dolls and learn about the life and contributions of each Guru.
Build a Mini Gurdwara: Create a miniature Gurdwara (Sikh temple) using craft supplies like cardboard and markers. This can help children understand the importance of the Gurdwara in Sikhism as a place for prayer, reflection, and community service.
Crafting activities help children connect with the material world of Sikhism, deepening their understanding of its values and traditions.
4. Virtual Tours of Sikh Historical Sites
Thanks to modern technology, virtual tours allow children to explore historical sites and landmarks related to Sikh history. Through interactive, online resources, children can learn about significant Sikh locations, even if they are far away.
Online Resources:
Google Arts & Culture: This platform offers virtual tours of iconic Sikh landmarks, including the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Children can take a tour of these sacred places, learning about their history and significance in Sikhism.
YouTube: Several YouTube channels are dedicated to educating children about Sikh history. Animated videos, documentaries, and virtual tours of historical places can make Sikh history come to life in an exciting and interactive way.
SikhNet: SikhNet offers a variety of online resources for kids, including videos, stories, and educational games about Sikh history, culture, and values.
These online resources offer a unique and immersive way for children to learn about Sikh history, whether they are exploring the Golden Temple or learning about the Sikh Gurus’ travels.
5. Celebrate Sikh Festivals with Kids
Sikh festivals are a great way for children to connect with Sikh history, culture, and values. Each festival has its own story and significance, and by participating in or learning about these celebrations, kids can deepen their understanding of Sikhism.
Key Sikh Festivals:
Vaisakhi: Vaisakhi is celebrated to mark the formation of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. It is also a harvest festival in Punjab. Teach children about the importance of the Khalsa, the significance of the Amrit ceremony, and the community spirit that Vaisakhi fosters.
Gurpurabs: These are the birthdays of the Sikh Gurus. Celebrating a Gurpurab with children provides an opportunity to learn about the life and teachings of the Guru being honored. Activities can include storytelling, singing hymns, and serving in the community, all of which reflect the values of Sikhism.
Diwali: Sikhs celebrate Diwali to commemorate Guru Hargobind Ji’s release from imprisonment. Diwali is a time for lighting diyas (oil lamps) and reflecting on the victory of light over darkness. It is also a time for family gatherings and community service.
By celebrating these festivals with children, you not only teach them about Sikh history but also provide them with the experience of Sikh traditions, including community meals (Langar) and acts of service.
6. Books and Resources for Kids
Books are a great way to introduce children to Sikh history in an engaging and accessible way. There are many children’s books available that share the stories of the Sikh Gurus and their teachings.
Recommended Books for Kids:
“The Sikh Heroes” by Nahar Singh – A captivating collection of stories that highlights the bravery and leadership of Sikh Gurus and warriors.
“The Story of Guru Nanak” by B. S. Sijapati – This book is an excellent introduction to Guru Nanak’s life and teachings, presented in an easy-to-understand format for younger readers.
“I Am Sikh” by S. N. Bal – This beginner-friendly book introduces young children to the basic concepts of Sikhism and the significance of the Gurus.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
Teaching Sikh history to children can be both fun and educational. By using a combination of storytelling, games, crafts, virtual tours, and participation in Sikh festivals, you can create an engaging learning experience that helps children understand and appreciate the values of Sikhism. Whether it’s learning about the teachings of the Sikh Gurus, understanding the significance of the Khalsa, or celebrating a Gurpurab, there are countless ways to bring Sikh history to life for kids.

Chapter VII - Viswamitra’s Request for Rama
Book I - Vairagya Khanda (Vairagya Khanda)
After the illustrious Viswamitra had heard the lengthy speech of the lion among kings, his hairs stood erect with joy, and he replied.
"This speech is worthy of you, O best of kings on earth, descended from a royal race and guided by the sage Vasishtha himself.
Consider well, O king, the act I have in mind, and support the cause of virtue.
I am engaged in religious acts for my consummation, but the horrible Rakshasas have become great obstructions.
Whenever I offer sacrifices to the gods, these nocturnal demons appear to destroy my rites.
The chiefs of the Rakshasas fling heaps of flesh and blood on the sacrificial ground whenever I commence my ceremonies.
Being thus obstructed in my duties, I come to you with a broken spirit, having labored in vain.
I have no mind, O king, to vent my anger through imprecations, which have no place in my religious conduct.
Such being the sacrificial law, I expect to achieve its great object in peace by your favor.
Being thus oppressed, I seek your protection; otherwise, it is an insult to solicitors to be disappointed by the best of men like yourself.
You have a son, the beauteous Rama, powerful as a fierce tiger and strong as the great Indra himself. He can destroy the Rakshasas.
Now, may you deliver to me Rama, your eldest son, with his youthful locks like the sable plumage of a crow, but possessing the true valor of a hero.
Protected under my sacred authority, he will be able to sever the heads of the malicious Rakshasas with his prowess.
I will do him many good services, whereby he will become adored by the inhabitants of the three worlds.
The night-wandering Rakshasas cannot stand before Rama; they must flee like stags before a furious lion.
No other man than Rama can fight the Rakshasas; as no animal other than a furious lion can fight wild elephants.
Elated with their strength, these vicious beings are as deadly as poisoned shafts in fighting, and being delegates of Khara and Dushana, they are as furious as death itself.
They cannot sustain the arrows of Rama; they must fall like flying dust under the ceaseless showers of his arrows.
Let not paternal affection prevail over you, O king, as there is nothing in this world that the high-minded will refuse to part with for their suitor.
I know for certain, and so should you, that the Rakshasas must be destroyed by him; wise men like us will never engage in uncertainty.
I know the great soul of the lotus-eyed Rama, and so does the illustrious Vasishtha and all other far-seeing sages and seers.
If the sense of greatness, duty, and renown resides in your soul, you should deliver your son to me.
It will take me ten nights to perform the rites of my sacrifice, during which Rama shall stay with me and kill the Rakshasas who are enemies of the sacrifice.
Let the ministers, O Kakutstha, headed by Vasishtha, give their assent and deliver Rama to me.
You, O son of Raghu, who knows the times of religious observances, must not let my time slip. Do as I ask and be blessed, and do not give way to sorrows.
Even the smallest service appears significant if done in good time, while the best service is of no avail if done out of season.
The illustrious and holy chief of the sages, Viswamitra, paused after saying these words, which were filled with virtuous and useful intentions.
Hearing these words of the great sage, the magnanimous king remained silent for some time, contemplating a fitting response; for no sensible person is ever satisfied with speaking unreasonably, either before others or to himself

Exploring the Rich Heritage of Rajput Grooms
In the tapestry of Indian culture and tradition, the Rajputs stand as an emblem of valour, chivalry, and royalty. Their history, filled with tales of courage and honour, continues to captivate the imagination of people worldwide. Among the many facets of Rajput heritage, the attire and rituals surrounding Rajput grooms hold a special place, reflecting their rich cultural legacy.
Tumblr media
The attire of a Rajput groom is a visual spectacle, resonating with opulence and tradition. Traditional Rajput attire for grooms typically includes a regal sherwani, often adorned with intricate embroidery, embellishments, and precious gemstones. The sherwani is complemented by a turban, known as the "page," which is meticulously tied and embellished, symbolizing dignity and honour. The ensemble is completed with accessories like the sword, known as the "khanda," and jewellery, adding a touch of grandeur to the groom's appearance.
The significance of attire goes beyond aesthetics; it is deeply rooted in Rajput customs and symbolism. Each element of the groom's attire holds cultural significance, representing heritage, lineage, and martial prowess. The turban, for instance, not only adds stature to the groom's persona but also signifies his social status and lineage within the Rajput community. Similarly, the sword embodies the valour and protection that are integral to the Rajput ethos.
Rajput weddings are steeped in tradition, with rituals that have been passed down through generations. The ceremony begins with the "Baraat," the grand procession of the groom accompanied by his family and friends. The groom, mounted on a decorated horse or elephant, makes a majestic entrance, symbolizing his readiness to embark on a new journey in life. The Baraat is a spectacle of music, dance, and celebration, showcasing the vibrancy of Rajput culture.
One of the most iconic rituals in a Rajput wedding is the "Jaimala," where the bride and groom exchange garlands as a symbol of mutual acceptance and respect. This ritual signifies the union of two families and the beginning of a lifelong partnership. The exchange of garlands is often followed by the "Pheras," where the couple takes seven rounds around the sacred fire, pledging their vows to each other in the presence of their loved ones.
Throughout the wedding ceremony, the importance of heritage and tradition is palpable. From the recitation of ancient hymns to the intricate rituals performed by the priests, every aspect reflects the deep-rooted customs that define Rajput weddings. Even the choice of venue, often a grand palace or heritage property, adds to the regal ambience, evoking the splendour of bygone eras.
Beyond the pomp and grandeur, Rajput weddings are also marked by warmth and hospitality. Families come together to celebrate love and unity, sharing laughter, tears, and blessings. It is this sense of camaraderie and kinship that truly embodies the spirit of Rajput culture.
In essence, the heritage of Rajput grooms is a tapestry woven with threads of valour, tradition, and timeless elegance. Through their attire, rituals, and customs, Rajput grooms pay homage to their rich cultural legacy, keeping alive the traditions of their ancestors while embracing the joys of new beginnings. As they embark on the journey of marriage, they carry with them the legacy of their forefathers, standing as custodians of a heritage that continues to inspire and enchant the world.

Hanuman Garhi in Ayodhya – Religious Significance, History, Legend
Tumblr media
Hanuman Garhi is a prominent religious site located in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India. With a rich history, deep-rooted legends, and distinctive architecture, this sacred place holds immense significance for devotees, attracting pilgrims and tourists alike.
History: Hanuman Garhi's history is intertwined with the ancient city of Ayodhya, believed to be the birthplace of Lord Rama. The roots of this sacred site trace back centuries, and it has witnessed various phases of evolution. Sikh Guru Gobind Singh, during his visit to Ayodhya in the early 18th century, was deeply impressed by the spiritual aura of Ayodhya and decided to construct a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Over time, the site gained prominence as a revered spot for Hanuman devotees.
Legends: The legends surrounding Hanuman Garhi are deeply embedded in Hindu religious scriptures, particularly the epic Ramayana. One of the most prominent stories associated with this site is the unwavering devotion of Lord Hanuman towards Lord Rama. It is believed that Hanuman Garhi is situated at the spot where Lord Hanuman guarded the gates of Ayodhya, waiting for Lord Rama's return. Hanuman's undying loyalty and selfless service to Lord Rama during his exile in the forests is a testament to the bond between the two divine entities. Devotees visiting Hanuman Garhi often recount tales of Hanuman's heroic feats, including his leap to Lanka to rescue Sita, Rama's consort. These stories not only add to the cultural tapestry of Ayodhya but also inspire a sense of devotion among the pilgrims.
Architecture: Hanuman Garhi stands out with its distinctive architecture, showcasing a blend of Hindu and Sikh influences. The main temple is constructed in a four-sided fort-like structure, symbolizing strength and devotion. The temple's entrance is adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures depicting episodes from the Ramayana. The central sanctum houses an idol of Lord Hanuman in a sitting posture, adorned with orange vermilion and marigold garlands. The sanctum's design reflects a seamless integration of Sikh and Hindu architectural elements, creating a unique visual appeal. The temple complex also includes smaller shrines dedicated to other deities, contributing to the overall spiritual ambiance. The presence of Sikh symbols, such as the Khanda, alongside traditional Hindu motifs, exemplifies the inclusive nature of Hanuman Garhi.
Location: Hanuman Garhi is strategically located atop a hill, providing a panoramic view of Ayodhya. The geographical elevation adds to the spiritual experience, as devotees ascend the stairs to reach the temple premises. Situated approximately 2 kilometers away from the Ram Janmabhoomi site, Hanuman Garhi is easily accessible by road. The proximity to other significant religious sites in Ayodhya makes it a pivotal stop for pilgrims exploring the city's cultural and spiritual heritage.
Timings: The temple opens its gates to devotees early in the morning and remains accessible throughout the day. The specific timings may vary, and it is advisable to check the local schedule before planning a visit. The evening aarti (ritualistic worship with lamps) is a particularly enchanting experience, as the temple resonates with devotional chants and hymns.
Celebrations: Hanuman Jayanti, the birthday of Lord Hanuman, is celebrated with great fervor at Hanuman Garhi. Devotees from far and wide gather to participate in special prayers, processions, and cultural events. The entire temple complex is illuminated, creating a surreal ambiance that adds to the festive spirit. Apart from Hanuman Jayanti, other significant festivals like Diwali and Ram Navami are celebrated with enthusiasm. The temple becomes a hub of religious and cultural activities during these occasions, attracting a diverse congregation of worshippers.
Significance: The significance of Hanuman Garhi extends beyond its religious and historical dimensions. It serves as a symbol of unity and inclusivity, reflecting the harmonious coexistence of diverse religious traditions. The coalescence of Sikh and Hindu elements in its architecture mirrors the spirit of India's cultural tapestry. For devotees, a visit to Hanuman Garhi is not just a religious pilgrimage but a journey of introspection and spiritual rejuvenation. The hill's elevated location provides a serene and contemplative atmosphere, making it an ideal place for meditation and self-reflection. In the broader context of Ayodhya's cultural landscape, Hanuman Garhi contributes to the city's identity as a sacred center with a rich tapestry of myths and legends. Its proximity to other revered sites in Ayodhya further enhances its importance as a vital part of the spiritual circuit. In conclusion, Hanuman Garhi stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of devotion and spirituality in Ayodhya. Its historical roots, mythical significance, unique architecture, and celebratory atmosphere make it a must-visit destination for those seeking a holistic experience of India's cultural and religious heritage. As the sun sets over the sacred city, the glow of Hanuman Garhi continues to illuminate the hearts of pilgrims, echoing the timeless tales of faith and devotion. All Ayodhya tour packages essentially comprise a visit to Hanuman Garhi.

Stunning diamonte gold plated allahpoppy muslim islam allah moon brooch pin Stunning Diamonte Gold Plated Islamic Muslim Allah Poppy Brooch Cake Pin
The Forgotten Heroes
Allah Poppy Brooch to commemorate the sacrifices of all Muslim soldiers who participated, got injured and sacrificed their lives in both World War I and II.
More than 400,000 Muslims fought in the trenches of WWI and still, their sacrifices and deaths are hardly recognised across the globe. With other comrades from the Middle East and India, this part of the world provided more soldiers for the war than most of the other regions who fought against German forces combined. Many of the Muslim soldiers were on the frontline fighting directly against Germans on the Western Front playing a critical role in strengthening the British in the war.
The name that stands out from all the other Muslim soldiers is of Khudadad Khan. He was part of the 129th Duke of Connaught’s Own Baluchi’s regiment and this heroic figure was born in the Jhelum District which is now in the Potohar area of Pakistan. Khudadad was one of the first Muslims to be awarded the Victoria Cross, the highest rank and status a soldier could earn. Khan’s regiment came directly into action in 1914 at the very beginning of the war in Belgium. The Baluchi regiment - which Khudadad Khan was in - supported the struggling British forces. The German’s heavily outnumbered the two Balochi squads and they invaded them although they fought bravely. Khan ran a machine gun unit whilst the other was destroyed by a bomb attack from the Germans. Khan’s bravery and determination delayed the German breakthrough. Outnumbered, Khan’s machine gunners were all overrun and all killed. Khan suffered several injuries and he was left for dead. Badly injured Khan was able to crawl back to his fellow soldiers under the shade of the dark night. Unfortunately, he died that very night.
We made this Poppy Allah Brooch to commemorate the sacrifice of all Muslim soldiers who Participated, injured and sacrificed their lives in both World Wars.
The idea of making this brooch came from the fact that I asked out of curiosity to my muslim friend (Pakistan origin) that if he knows how many muslim people participated and sacrificed their lives in world wars. He’s very devoted muslim and his answer surprised me when he said may be 1000 or 4000. Then, we did research and was even shocked more to find that figures were far more than our estimation. Then, we thought there should be something that every muslim should wear to pay their tributes to these unknown heroes of the World Wars. This is our small effort to remember all these brave soldiers.
We look forward for your suggestions and advice.

Effectively manage Low Back Pain and various other Musculoskeletal
Abnormalities through a comprehensive Ayurveda regimen:
Ahara (Diet): Addressing the concept of “Ahara” or diet, the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 17, verses 8-10) classifies it into three types: Sattvika, Rajasika, and Tamsika. Presently, a significant number of individuals, particularly those engaged in active work, tend to consume a diet rich in spices, fried foods, tea, coffee, and processed items – characteristics of Rajasika Ahara. This dietary pattern for a prolonged period can lead to the imbalance of Vata dosha. The imbalance of Vata dosha can contribute to various distressing musculoskeletal ailments, including lower back pain. It is imperative, therefore, to adopt a balanced diet that encompasses essential elements like cereals, pulses, milk, fruits, and vegetables in appropriate proportions. Embark on a transformative journey of wellness at Nimba Nature Cure, your ultimate sanctuary for Ayurveda retreat in the heart of Gujarat, hence known as one of the best Ayurveda retreats in Gujarat. Discover a holistic haven that seamlessly combines traditional Ayurvedic wisdom with modern wellness practices.
Vihara (Lifestyle): Embracing a balanced “Vihara” or lifestyle is of utmost importance. Maintaining a harmonious sleep-wake cycle and adhering to foundational principles are pivotal in ensuring our body’s biological rhythm operates optimally. Yet, the demanding schedules of call centre workers, who remain mentally and physically active around the clock, disrupt this delicate balance. This disruption gives rise to both mental and physical strain, which ultimately materializes as muscle tension and bodily discomfort. Extended exposure to such a lifestyle can lead to the emergence of persistent and chronic pain. If left unaddressed, this condition renders the body more susceptible to heightened frailty and pain in later years. However, Ayurvedic doctors extend invaluable guidance and mentorship to realign and rectify imbalanced lifestyles. This facilitates the magnified benefits of Aushadhi Chikitsa (medicinal treatment), enriching the body’s overall well-being. Are you also suffering from Musculoskeletal pain treatment? If yes, then don’t waste money on treatments that may cause harm to you in later stages of life, instead choose Nimba for musculoskeletal disorders treatment through Ayurveda.

The story of the world’s 1st poet- Rishi Valmiki
Tumblr media
The finest Indian poets, saints, and sages have been witnessed throughout history. Maharishi Valmiki is one of the identities that did stand out the most. Rishi Valmiki is known as Adi Kavi in Sanskrit literature. This means he was the first poet. He was the first person to write the epic Ramayana, which is one of the most well-known Hindu texts.
What is the story of the poet- Rishi Valmiki? Get an online astrology consultation by the world-renowned Astrologer Mr. Alok Khandelwal.
One of the greatest philosophers ever, Rishi Valmiki was a wonderful sage of wisdom, poetry, kindness, and mercy.
Valmiki’s birth
People who have something to do with Maharishi’s life disagree about something. According to one interpretation of Nagara Khanda from the Skanda Purana, he was born into a Brahmin family and given the name Lohajangha. He had a wife who loved him. To keep his family from going hungry during the twelve years of drought in their hamlet, he began robbing people.
Lohajangha once attempted to rob Saptarishi, a group of seven sages. However, Pulatsya Rishi, a Saptarishi, gives Lohajangha a mantra. Valmiki acquired his name from the ant hill or Valmika that covered his body after years of severe austerity and mantra recitation.
Rishi Valmiki was born in Sumali or Pracheta to a Rishi Bhrigu gotra Brahmin household named Agni Sharma. Ratnakar Daku was his name when he started stealing from people after a while. When he met Narada muni, they talked about his responsibilities. Agni Sharma started doing austerity and reciting a mantra called “Mara,” which means “death,” because he was so interested in what Narada thought and said.
After doing penance for many years, this Mara changed into Rama, but his body is still covered by an anthill. Because of this, he got a new name: Valmiki.

Valmiki rishi’s Adi Kavya (First Poem) Ramayana was one of the best things he ever did. The Ramayana is the first poem ever written in Sanskrit. Valmiki’s epic Ramayana is made up of 24000 shlokas and 7 cantos. It tells about everything that happened in Lord Rama’s life, from his birth to his 14 years of living in the forest. Ravana kidnapped Sita, and then there was a war between Rama’s army of monkeys and Ravan’s army. When the war was over, Lord Rama left this world.
Some Indian philosophers also thought that Yoga Vashista was written by Rishi Valmiki. Yoga Vashista is a conceptual story about what the sage Vashista and Lord Rama talked about. There are six books by Yoga Vasistha. Each one talks about different events and parts of life, such as Rama’s disappointment in nature and the suffering of people, Rama’s urge for salvation, other people who also want to be free, spiritual ways to be free, and the importance of people’s willpower and creativity.
His Role in Ramayana
Sage Valmiki was a very important part of the Ramayana, according to Uttara Kanda, which was taken from Sesha Ramayana. Rishi Valmiki let Devi Sita stay in his ashram after she was sent away. At the rishi’s ashram, where Devi Sita gave birth, Lava and Kusha were taught the Ramayana by their guru Valmiki.

Cultural Impacts
Maharishi’s philosophical art affected the arts and cultures of many places in the Indian subcontinent and some sections of the southeast. It inspired writers and poets from different cultures to rewrite Valmiki’s Ramayana in their language. It includes Ramacharitamanas, Krittivasi Ramayan, Molla Ramayanam, Torave Ramayana, and Kambaramayanam in Tamil, Telegu, Kannada, and Bengali, respectively (Awadhi).
On the walls of shrines and stones, different scenes from the Ramayan were carved. The stone in Nagarjunkonda, Andhra Pradesh, which depicts the encounter between Lord Rama and Bharata, would make the ideal illustration. Valmiki’s influence on the Ramayana can be seen in movies, TV shows, music videos, theatres, paintings, books, and temples today. Today, Hindus all over the world watch Ramlila, a dramatic version of the Ramayana, which is performed in India.
Rishi Valmiki has a temple in Tiruvanmiyur, Chennai, that has been there for 1300 years.
Maharishi Valmiki’s lessons
Maharishi taught us to follow Dharma and Karma through Ramayana:
Always tell the truth.
The truth will prevail despite how strong evil may be.
Unity makes people stronger.
Similar to Rama’s family, despite the circumstances separating them, their hearts remained united, which enabled them to overcome obstacles.
Honor your obligations with loyalty.
Follow the right path.
Respect and be kind to other people.
See and treat all animals the same.
Never hang out with or get close to a bad person.
Peace and harmony come from being able to forgive.
Not everything that shines is gold.
