Small Announcement & Kickstarter FAQ

You guys have already heard about the game's update but we're reaching out again to share more info about the upcoming KS!

You can read about our responses to your submitted questions in the devlog we've posted on our itch page, but the main takeaways are:

Kickstarter goes up on October 28th, 2024

We're working on a patch to make the QTE more accessible and to address some reported bugs

I'm so sorry but I have to be annoying about dragon age really quick and I'm throwing caution to the wind but. I really love Zev/Surana so much because like. Neither of them were allowed much choice in their lives at any point it was that things were taken from them over and over again. Or they never got a chance to have a life outside of what they were given to: the mages circle and the crows. The romance is so slow because they're tentative, do I get to choose this or will it be taken from me again? Am I allowed to have this?

so i've heard that in fire and blood viserys isn't chronically ill. what do you think of the show's decision to make him so compared to the book?

he is chronically ill in the book. hes sick for about a decade before dying suddenly in his sleep at age 52.

the maesters repeatedly blame his health problems on his weight, but the symptoms hes complaining of sound like theres more going on. whatever it is, i dont think its diagnosable in the time he lives in. so even if the maesters think theres something wrong, they cant figure it out and just shrug and blame it on him being fat. shockingly similar to modern day doctors

viserys in the book has what wed call an invisible illness. while they can be just as devastating, everything its doing to you is on the inside. its not a very visual process.

and for a visual medium like tv… thats difficult to show. unlike a very visually striking disease like leprosy. you cant miss leprosy and you cant mistake the effects it has on the body.

i think thats probably the main idea around the switch. that, and they probably wanted to do a ‘baldwin leper king of jerusalem’ thing with him.

i love sick kings. i love the idea of the most politically powerful person in the kingdom being very frail and sickly and physically weak.

and i love leper kings. leper kings are sexy. so im cool with it :)

It can be so hard to know how to thread the needle when talking about how I would like to be treated as a fictive because I *am* literally Alastor and I *like* talking about my canon and such and I even enjoy having fans so I used to be like yes *do* treat me like blorbo from show, but unfortunately what people would sometimes do was *not* treat me like Alastor was a real man which is what I wanted, but instead treat me literally like I am a fictional character and not a real person at all which is certainly not what I meant!

And I'd like to be able to explain it like listen if you met a celebraty in real life even if you fan over them you should still treat them like a real person with feelings and you can talk to them about their work and things you like but you shouldn't be weird to them about it but unfortunately people *are* weird to celebrities too so I don't know what to tell you.

Surprise! Elio's sprite got a touch up! Part of me was thinking that between PJE, there was a lot of green happening that made Percy stand out too much. So we knocked Tozaki off the spotlight and gave Elio some loving!

And I'm really glad we did! I haven't stopped smiling looking at him. He's so boyfriend coded now somehow... *dreamy sigh*

The pins on his hat didn't survive though, but don't worry. He still collects them and treats them dearly ;u;

Oh and in case people didn't see it, we loved Sunny too much so we made it official as Summer MC's default name! Summer MC's still say the wildest shit even with such a cute name haha

Some screencaps from finishing the game this past holiday! Hadn't been able to complete it because of comp issues, so it was nice to finally actually play through the thing lol. I admire all the little details that are easy to walk past. Hopefully the folks making the game had a fun time with it all

Also tried to jot down the songs on the back of the record covers, but I did it by taking screenshots and looking at them later. I couldn't make a lot of them out (like Stormriders), and missed Roddy's cover entirely while screenshoting! :( But I managed to get the bulk of the collection. Listed below the cut - it's fun to think of it as extra worldbuilding, and maybe useful for any fanfic writers lol.

modern takes about how Snow White & Charming are #problematic for always choosing true love over blah blah blah political choices whatever whatever in the silly fairy tale show are EXACTLY the same to me (like literally it’s exactly the same) as modern atla fans finding this or that political qualms to obsess over in a kids cartoon about the power of friendship & love.
