Let's Get Physical: DocDoc's Run Draw

Hi everyone! Since @keyofjetwolf was brave enough to run a 5k, and we all know I really and truly support getting into running and racing and race walking and basically physical activity in general.

I am giving away AN EIGHT DAYS OF CONTENT DAY. This will be done during Eight Days (obviously) and because it's an eight days day, it's 6 hours, and VERY freeform. So, do you want 4 hours of liveblogging, and then a two hour stream? No problem! As always, I have veto power but I'm pretty reasonable I think and I'll work with you to make you happy.

WOW HOLLIGAY, HOW DO I WIN THIS?

You run! You run. If you run a chipped race of 5k or better between June 1st and October 1st, you get an entry. Let's drill down what that means!

A 'chipped race' is a race with an official timekeeping method, that generally uses a chip on the back of your bib for an official time. (For those of you in the Uk and SOME parts of the US but definitely the Uk, parkrun is chipped!! Chipped and fucking free. Bless)

In the US, I really recommend using runsignup to find races near you. In The UK I would use findarace. I haven't found a site I like for Canada.

The entries scale in approximately 5k increments. A 5k is one entry, a 10k is two, half marathon is four, etc.

SUBMISSION PAY ATTENTION HERE:

Once you finish, you will, through most sites, get an email or link that looks very much like this:

There will be the above chip, and then I want anywhere from two lines to as long as you want to go about how the race was. So, for this race chip above: I raced this to get a coupon, and it turned out that I was ineligible anyhow. Annoying, but I was proud of myself for doing better at making like Kate Bush and running up that hill than I ever have. That would be a totally fine entry. Does NOT have to be elaborate.

You will put this IN THE HOLLIGAY'S DUDE RANCH COMMUNITY. If you need to join, just ask me either on this post or in an ask to add you. I would love to have you anyhow! I doubt I will need to but if I need to further verify your participation, I will contact you.

This is probably my best Sailor Moon image song AMV and I think it was the last AMV I ever made. That's because it's actually a partially remade version of an older AMV! I think I did it for a contest @keyofjetwolf was holding back in the day.

The original version had quite a few views (so much so that it's preserved on Wayback), but it had a bunch of timing issues, which is why I did this remake. And somehow Toei didn't destroy it! Which I'm glad about. It's a jam and it was fun syncing all of Rei's badass moments to it.

It is so very much a shitty modern girlpower type fucking movie, it has NOT ONE IOTA of subtlety, it was basically a 60s-70s Western made with A Girl but trying to do business with the grittier Westerns of the 90s AMAZING. I CANNOT WAIT to tell you everything that is wrong with this movie, it is so fun and fucking stupid.

Sunday, August 11th: I'm running a race Full Send because this is how I have fun I guess but then, that evening, Jackbox games!

Monday, August 12th: The Patreon release of some more of Justified Episode one, and then that night, the movie club for The Lucky Mill! There's a separate post on that, I'll make sure to reblog it again a few times.

Tuesday, August 13th: First of all, It's Lena's birthday! According to my canon, the only one that matters. Weirdly this is not related to it being close to my birthday--I picked it out of a book about birthdays that I use for that sort of thing. I 'found' her personality and just made that her birthday. It's how I did it for all the Overwatch characters. ANYWAY.

It'll be a 'liveblog' (More like a series of long posts) about Season 2, Episode 9 of Vinland Saga. I streamed this show, and really really liked it, but Oath was, I think, my favorite of a series of very good episodes, and I can't wait to really talk about it.

Wednesday, August 14th: IT IS MY BIRTHDAY SHOWER ME WITH AFFECTION. I am going to the fair all day. It is also, no joke, Doc Holliday's birthday. How's that for fuckin kismet?

Thursday, August 15th: A series of unhinged essays about the television show Interview With The Vampire, deeply informed by the fact that the Vampire Chronicles were akin to my Harry fucking Potter when I was a deeply weird 13-16 year old. HUGE spoilers for the books, but honestly the TV show has been so different that it might NOT be a spoiler for the show ahaha. (I do very much like the show, in case anyone is worried it'll be a hateblog.)

That night: @keyofjetwolf and I will be watching S2E5 of Interview. She will have only seen UP to that point, and it's one of my favorite eps (I am sure all of you who have seen it know why)

Friday, August 16th: We finish off with a drunken stream. I will be asked to identify anime and what they are about in what I can only assume is some kind of Who Wants To Be A Weeaboo Piece of Shit, while I am drunk. May include audience participation. For any more detailed instructions/explanation, @ultrace is the main runner of this, with a heavy assist by @keyofjetwolf I think it will be very funny and I will do badly ahahah.

Just watched the Sailor moon D-Point episode with a friend and the creators of that episode really love the sailor senshi, particularly Rei.

It's so funny to me that the everyone knows Ami's Bubble Blast does nothing, so she couldn't kill anyone. But she got to disrupt DD Girls' power.

LOVE that Mako got to kill two of them with one big badass blast. I don't know if I ever quite realized she got two of them, but I was paying attention in particular to that this time. She's the powerhouse who gets to kill two with one attack even while Rei is the most dedicated and gets to kill two separately.

They didn't best know what to do with Minako but the VA did an exceptional job. It really brought a lot to the episode that she truly sounded scared to die. Not like battle yells but actually fearful. She's been doing this the longest, has known longer than anyone she could die doing this. And that never under cut how afraid she was. But she fought anyway.

But absolutely they let Rei take the show. She really is such a fucking badass in that episode shooting Fire Soul through a fucking glacier to kill the monster going after Usagi without even proper line of sight. Rei said she would protect Usagi and by god she would not be stopped. And she wasn't even done there.

Amazing. Love it. Gold star. No notes. @keyofjetwolf I feel you. Yes, I immediately thought of you when Rei turned to that last DD girl with that rage filled eye and said she wasn't fucking done and burnt that bitch to a crisp.
