BASIC INFORMATION:
NAME: Emre Avşar. AGE: 36. PLACE OF BIRTH: İstanbul, Türkiye. AFFILIATION: The Haringey Resistance. OCCUPATION: Second in Command. FACE CLAIM: Kerem Bürsin. AVAILABILITY: OPEN.
BIOGRAPHY:
İstanbul truly was a spectacle.
Tourists gathered in droves to appreciate an architectural and cultural marvel unlike any other. It was a place of history, and art, and religion, and was not remotely unwarranted in its pride for it all. But whilst it would be a lie to say he didn’t miss home, Emre knew that the city he’d seen was very different to the one reserved for outsiders. For him, the beauty had always been overshadowed by a particularly dark underbelly that he’d been caught up in long before he was mature enough to understand the decisions he was making.
And that was precisely why people like him were targeted.
They never approached the well-off, educated kids from families who actually gave a shit. The petty gangs roaming the back alleys of the city’s less savoury neighbourhoods sought out the weak and vulnerable because it was so much easier to manipulate somebody who was desperate. Back then, Emre had been exactly that. After his parents divorced when he was four years old, his mother, unable to afford caring for a child alone, offloaded her son onto some shady orphanage in Gaziosmanpaşa like he’d meant nothing to her at all.
Emre’s life in Türkiye from that point forward was, with the exception of meeting her, a consistent downward spiral. Being targeted by one of the local gangs seemed more of an eventuality than an unfortunate accident. They liked to pick up the little kids and force them to go begging in the tourist areas. Foreign bleeding hearts were a lot quicker to offer up their hard earned cash to innocent kids who were beaten, bruised, and looked like they needed a meal; all courtesy of those earning on their behalf, of course. They had to make it seem convincing.
At the end of the day, they’d take the money back to whoever was assigned to their area with the hopes of a hot meal and a few coins instead of another beating. Emre usually wasn’t so lucky. Whilst he didn’t have a talent for begging, though, Zehra sure did. Much like him, she’d had an unfortunate start in life that’d landed her in a similarly desperate scenario. With her big doe eyes and pretty features, it was no surprise that she gathered everyone’s attention with ease. His included.
They weren’t supposed to make friends. Maybe because when children got together, they started having fucking ideas. To keep them apart was impossible, though. From their very first hello, Emre had been wholly devoted to her, and as the years passed, their friendship only grew stronger. The streets of İstanbul were dangerous, but he vowed they would never be for her again so long as he was around to protect her. It was a promise that came to a particularly nasty head when the gang they worked for decided to deliver her one of their infamous beatings. Zehra was such a high earner that it became expected. After a poor day where she’d barely scraped together more than him, they’d punished her for it. Emre had relieved some kid of the knife earlier that day. The asshole responsible had seen the sharp end of it with little remorse.
It’d been his first kill. Emre had been twelve years old.
Whilst he might’ve been brave enough to serve the justice, he hadn’t paid much thought (nor did he care) about the consequences that might follow. The idea of them murdering him and Zehra being left alone was his only concern, but it seemed the gang had other plans. Finding little beggars was easy. Finding someone who’d take a life, on the other hand? Not so much. Emre was only punished for what he did to scare him into agreeing to do it again. And he did. Because what other choice did he have?
They used the orphan kids because nobody would miss them if they were gone. Nobody would care if they got hurt instead of someone who mattered. So that was how Emre earned his keep, and to their credit, he got paid a hell of a lot more for bloodying his hands than holding them out. It was enough to look after both himself and Zehra relatively well. When she became too old to earn through pity, Emre had proven useful enough to make demands. If they wanted to keep him around—and he was too damn good at what he did for them to turn it down—they’d let her go. They’d tried to scare him, but he wouldn’t budge.
So eventually they did.
Life continued this way until his late teens. Emre had learned the gang was smuggling people to the UK with fake German passports and papers to attend to their heroin trade. The buy in was insanely expensive, but there was little he wouldn’t pay for a better life. Of course, his price was lessened because he could earn them even more abroad than he did in İstanbul, but they sure took advantage of knowing he’d never leave Zehra behind. They’d bled him dry to pay for her passage; triple the amount it would have cost anybody else. They burdened him with the most dangerous jobs, the most brutal workloads, and drew out his time in the city for as long as possible until eventually, Emre had managed it.
They made it to London just after Zehra’s eighteenth birthday.
Life would never be perfect for someone like him, but it sure got better after that.
They were set up in a shitty two-bedroom flat they had to share with six others, but like always, Emre was there to look out for her until they could do better. Haringey wasn’t exactly an ideal spot, but it was sure better than any of the places he’d spent his childhood, and almost immediately, he was set to work with the gang that operated in the area. His connection? Mehmet Demir.
Perhaps the most striking difference between İstanbul and London came in the way he was treated. It became clear that this time his talents were appreciated instead of demanded, and whilst a certain work ethic was expected, it came a lot easier when it was born out of respect for the old man instead of fear of him. Mehmet taught him everything he needed to know about the city, and eventually, just like his son Hasan—a man who would eventually become a brother to him—he was crafted into a loyal member of the gang. Similar to Mehmet, Emre was the quiet but dangerous type; he kept his head down, but had instilled enough fear over the years that people never mistook it for weakness. It came in handy.
Emre never knew his father, but he liked to imagine he’d have been like Demir.
For seventeen years, Emre has called London home. He’s watched as Zehra has flourished in her freedom, crafted an impressive life all of his own, and learned to know what family feels like in the process. And perhaps that familial feeling is precisely why he never second guessed Hasan’s decision to separate from the rest of the gang. The turmoil the Rutherfords brought to Haringey enraged them all—even if Emre just missed out on witnessing their very hostile takeover—but not nearly as much as the fact people like Hasan have to take a backseat to the likes of Kerem and Azra because of it. Emre doesn’t regret becoming a part of Hasan’s splinter group; partly because he knows it’s the right call, but mostly because there is nowhere else he would be than at the side of his best friend, and a family who’s given him everything.
Whatever London might bring him now, he can hold his head high knowing that he always has—and always will—do the best he can for the people he cares about.
SOCIAL CONNECTIONS:
RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single. FAMILY: None. CONNECTIONS:
Zehra Şimşek: Best friend. About the only thing that kept him going through his bleakest moments. There wasn’t much good in his life besides her until he moved to London, but even now, she’s the best of it all. Zehra is without a doubt the person he’s closest to. They’ve been through so much together, and supported each other through some pretty shitty experiences, that their bond isn’t comparable to anyone else. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for her.
Hasan Demir: Best friend. Without question, his brother. It doesn’t matter if they aren’t of the same blood. Emre’s trust isn’t easily earned after the kind of childhood he had, but nobody is more deserving of it than Hasan. They learned the ropes of London together, and have grown as members of the gang alongside each other. Emre trusts his best friend’s judgement, but also knows that if he ever had issue with his decisions, his protests would be heard. Their partnership and leadership is the best thing for Haringey moving forward, and he truly does believe that.
Mustafa Ilhan: Good friend. With the exception of Zehra, he’s the only connection Emre has retained from İstanbul. The formation of their friendship was an unlikely one, given Mustafa’s status in the gang, but he’s more than proven himself over the years; both back at home, and here in London. Emre is glad he decided to make the journey, and especially so that there’s someone else looking out for Zehra now.
Elif Ateş: Good friend. Just about all of Hasan’s gang has collectively taken Elif under their wing, and Emre is no exception. The loyalty she has shown not only to the Turks, but them specifically, is worth more than anything to him. Whilst he doubts her brother would be cruel enough to seek her out and punish her for turning her back on their traitorous family, Emre has vowed to have her back. Ayaz lays a finger on her, and he’ll break his fucking legs.

So, thoughts on previews for upcoming eps of all my Turkish shows...
Yali Capkini
1. Clever of them not to show daddy in the preview. I would be shocked if they killed him though.
2. This sequence was gorgeous:
3. This said, Ferit keeping up with his “I want a baby” litany makes me want to headdesk repeatedly. He’s much too immature to have a child - if they did, Seyran would have TWO children!
4. They are setting up Suna with Ferit’s brother for children, aren’t they? Too bad, Suna x Abidin is delish.
Tuzak
This scene ended me! Ceren begging him to be real and honest unlike everyone in her world, not knowing he’s the biggest liar. I mean, even his name is fake! But his feelings are totally real and that’s delish!
Yurek Cikmasi
1. I am glad to see Lawyer wasn’t harmed because the old man is serial killer level unhinged!
2. This is a show that very much relies on everything in the ep and needing to understand what they say plus it’s a grim topic, so I can’t really comment much on previews and I am gonna take refuge in shallowness instead.
3. Well, shallowness AND shipping!
Darmaduman
1. Yes, thank you patron gods of effed up deliciousness, they ARE setting up for Yagiz (who is channeling early manga Domyoji tbh yikes) to fall for Ece. MMMMM.
For someone as psycho as Yagiz, this might as well be a marriage proposal! This said, I prefer Evren x Ece and clearly the makers get it, since they literally made a separate trailer with these two and the chem is insane!
I love the little detail that he’s of course drinking booze but she is drinking tea. (Girl, I know he’s hot, but at least make sure he doesn’t have cirrhosis before you take him on!)
She can always make emo mob prince smile...
When he gets super close to her to go “Tiny” (his nickname for her), I about exploded.
Just as well since he looks to be falling apart in this ep in general...
I got to say it’s clear he’s had a torch for Derin for god knows how long so I wonder how the whole thing where he’s clearly fallen for Ece now without realizing it will play out. Depends on if the ratings will allow this show to breathe, I guess. If they do, then I can totally see Ece peacing out and Evren only realizing who he really loves after that (with side of jealousy over Yagiz.)
PS I have nothing against Kerem x Derin, but I don’t find them particularly interesting so I never post about them. This said, I hope they work out, she needs someone steady.
Gelsin Hayat Bildigi Gibi
Yes, I watched the preview for 19 without having seen 18 yet - the subs for this are slower than for any other of my other shows (and that’s for English subs, I think Russian subbers dropped it, which boo!)
1. Boo, show, you made my mob don and cop lady both cry!
Clearly we are in for angst and I cannot wait!
2. I am sorry, but this dude makes Araz look like a believable high schooler. I crack up every time. I just pretend they are all getting continuing education, for my sanity.
3. I literally groaned when we saw this guy alive. I knew he probably survived but I kept hoping. I find him the most annoying character who is not supposed to be the bad guy and his storyline with Aylin’s sister annoys the hell out of me.
4. But who cares because slowly but surely they are making my crack ship real! I am swooning over every little glimpse of Araz x Aylin, the gang boy and disregarded by her fam princess with a criminal record.
Together with Evren x Ece, they are my biggest OTP out of airing Turkish shows. What can I say, I have a type!

@mobscene-awards Acceptance Speech
Emine wasn’t phased about these awards, there were only two that mattered to her, and the rest of them was pure trash; like all the Rutherfords in this fucking room. Her head turned towards Kerem when he spoke to her and he could see by her eyes that she was fine.
Let them underestimate her, it made it all the sweeter when she would burn them.
In true Emine fashion, flaunting off how fucking hot she looked in her dress, she strut like the fucking badass bitch that she was and made her up way to take the award, turning to face the rest of them.
“Please, do tell me how you truly feel about me. Wait...don’t.” She gave a tight smirk. “Teşekkürler“ And kiss my ass.
The petite Turk made her way off the stage and back to her king, leaning in to whisper into his ear. “We’ll throw this overboard later.”

looks like this is Adonis Real v. Yuga Labs, Inc. Sotheby's was added as a defendant in the August 4th amended complaint
the full list of defendants is

I truly cannot express the degree of "fuck off" I feel. You are suing an auction house for selling something to somebody else? Not even to you? You saw that somebody else had paid a lot for an NFT and that cheated you into thinking that a separate purchase that you did was worth a lot?
Fuck

Farewell, my love
I thought I was done ranting about SCK, and I swear this is the last one. I've learned my dizi lesson, and I have so many good ones to look forward to watching. Lesson number one, don't watch a dizi where the only draw is the two leads.
Here's the thing. In the past couple of months, and having watched a few other dizis, I started to wonder if maybe Hande and Kerem had blinded me into liking a show that was never actually more than crap. But in my recent rewatch (I'm up to 12) it was good. It genuinely was. The chemistry was great, the slow burn was great, but for me, the biggest part of why SCK 1-12 was great is that the angst and the drawn out story made sense. Eda and Serkan not talking to each other and keeping their feelings close made sense when Serkan wasn't sure Eda didn't hate him and Eda wasn't sure he wouldn't always choose Selin. Their angst and noncommunication worked here, because this was a story about two people getting to know each other and falling in love. Here, we (and they) learn about their fears, their doubts, their insecurities, their uncertainties, and we learned who they were as people. In 13-21, we watched them grow as people. We watched as they loved each other through pain and as they set up boundaries and learned what would and would not be acceptable to them as a couple. They learned how to talk and share their feelings and be open with how they feel (granted it took fucking forever, but we got there. Finally).
And, and perhaps this is the MOST key--they were in character, they had arcs, and things didn't simply happen for plot. At least not in ways that sacrificed character.
From 22-39, we mostly dealt with plot. Plot which drove characters, but one thing, ONE THING that remained at the of it all was the Eda and Serkan could not be apart. Even when they aren't together, they are together. Their longest separation is immediately following the plane crash, in which Eda does everything humanly possible to keep pieces of Serkan as close to her as she can.
They are it for each other. The love story told in the first several episodes was clear--they are soul mates, they have invisible handcuffs, etc etc. They can't separate, they won't no matter how hard things get. And they both have lines. Eda believes strongly in telling the truth, trusting your partner, believing in them, and above all, family. She lost her parents--being able to be a mom with a family is something we know is important to her. Serkan is self-sacrificial, but he channels it into doing anything and everything he can to make Eda happy. He has learned how to be a partner, how to share his feelings and trust others, and like Eda, his own issues with his parents and the feeling of abandonment mean that he has a deep desire to want to build a strong family.
We have watched them go through literal hell and back. We have watched them fall in love and learn each other over, and over, and over. So to see them having finally survived all of that--crazy families, tumors, plane crashes, gas lighting fiancees, awful friends, terrible parents, and to have survived and come out the other side--and then, what, break up? Spend five years hating each other and Eda keeping his child from him...for what? What could possibly have caused them to be so broken that they left each other and Eda kept a child from him? What is worse than plane crashes, crazy grandmothers, amnesia, crazy ex-girlfriends--what? This isn't sensible angst that shows characters growing and changing and moving. This is angst for angst sake. This is drama for drama's sake. And it's not it for me.
The Eda I know would never, EVER keep Serkan's child from him. Ever. No matter what he said or did, the Eda I know, the one who confronts people head on, who fights for the people she loves and who doesn't let someone off the hook, the one who knows how hurt he was by his own father, who still mourns her own, would not do this. Even if, as some people think, Serkan tried to drive her away (and we'll address that in a minute), my Eda, episode 15 Eda, would shove her pregnancy test in his face and say "yeah? You don't love me, fine, but your child? How about that?" She wouldn't leave. Or would she? This is the Eda, after all, who ran away in 37 instead of standing with him and finding out the truth and making choices together. Did she leave bc he didn't tell her about the tumor? "Sorry you found out you're dying, but since you lied I'm gonna let you die alone. Oh, and keep your kid's existence from you, peace out."
As for Serkan, why would he let her go? Because he thought he was dying? I mean, I guess if she got mad enough about the secret to leave him, I could see him letting her go. It would reinforce what he has always though, that he isn't worthy of love--hers, his parents. It means that all the growth and reassurance and peace he got means nothing. And honestly, I don't think he's survive that. After all, what would he even have to live for, after it's reaffirmed that he isn't worth loving? And if he drives her away instead, then what was the entire point of 14-21? What? That entire 7 episodes of learning to love her, of learning to be the partner who listens and gives and trusts means nothing. Hell, 14-28 mean nothing. Because he is right back to where he started in 13. And if Eda, who knows he has a tumor, listens?
The point is, these aren't the people I love. These aren't my characters. This isn't the kind of beautiful angst that was built in 1-12. This is pure plot to sell things, and I hate everything about it. For me, there is no redemption here for Eda. She kept a child from him. It's not a thing you can say "oops sorry" for. She kept his child from him. Unless she was escaping a plot on her life bc Serkan is a secret mob boss and she had to go into hiding for her safety, there is not way I see this not making her not only a pretty horrible person, but also a hypocrite of the highest order.
As for Serkan, he's already been "the bad guy". He's made mistakes before (although I'd argue he gets a pass for actual brain damage), and I have no desire to see him, once again, thrust into the "Asshole Bolat" role. Not Robot Bolat, because our beloved RoBo would never have let Eda leave. Just Asshole. Which is what I assume, otherwise how do you justify another fucking breakup?
This show is starting it's 40th episode. 40th, and our couple has been together and happy for 4? Almost 5 episodes. It's too much. I'm done. At some point you start to wonder if they aren't just toxic and need to stay away from each other. Because if all they are is pride and miscommunication and refusing to talk and now a child is being hurt as a result--just no. This isn't the love story I signed up for.
So, it was a good run. I'm grateful to SCK for introducing me to Turkish tv (again), for helping me meet some truly amazing people, and for giving me a fandom again after far too long. But, like every other fandom I've been in, it's time for it to end. It's reached a point where I no longer find joy in a story that has gone so far beyond it's original tale as to be entirely unrecognizable. So I'm getting off this train. It's been real.

White Hot Fury || Self - Para
Setting: In Tandem with Nevra and Melissa’s thread HERE Mentions: @msmelissalin @erdogan-nevra @emine--yalaz Triggers: THE DOG DIES
The text from Melissa Lin that she was coming was one that Kerem had feared for so long.
Something that he had been expecting for so long. He was still convinced that she was going to murder him - that she wanted to make it public so that everyone could see. Maybe he’d be lucky and it’d be quick. Maybe it’d make people want to fight them. But it hadn’t stopped him from doing what he figured would be his lasts.
His last call to his mom - who insisted she was bringing over food for him and Emine that night because she knew that they weren’t feeding themselves properly.
His last time messing with all of his sisters.
His last time having coffee with his Dad - and while Kerem could tell that his father knew that something was going on (the older man had been in the game far too long to not know something was up even if he was retired) the two of them ignored it. To have a last moment of piece.
His last time kissing Emine.
His last time taking Spectre for a walk. He’d been at the park across from his flat when he saw the limo come up, and he figured that he would take the dog inside if he could. There was only one person who would come to Haringey in a limo and the least he could do was make sure that the dog didn’t have to witness whatever was about to go down. He figured he could get Emine to bring Spectre in - and he truly hoped that whatever was going to happen
He had made up his mind a long time ago that he would die for Haringey.
When Benjamin came up to him, it was everything that Kerem could do not to roll his eyes. He knew the type - the too violent, too psychotic, and yet still managed to be a lapdog type. He barely paid the man attention, his eyes fixed on the limo - on the woman............women inside of it.
He had expected Melissa, but he hadn’t expected Nevra. His eyes narrowed at the sight of his ex-fiancée.
It wasn’t that long ago that she was trying to talk him out of fight club, trying to say that she wanted him to stay safe. He had suspected at the time that she was just trying to play with his emotions, to bring him back to when they were together, to when she had him believing that she cared more about him, about their life in Haringey, than she did about money. But this only confirmed the suspicions that he had then - she had been trying to play him. And now here she was, sitting right next to Melissa Lin. Looking like she belonged there.
Like she was the traitor that she continually proved herself to be.
If Nevra wanted him to see her, he wasn’t going to give
He saw the gun move, he prepared himself for the punishment that he knew was coming - but when the shot rang in his ears, it was the scream from Spectre that caught him by surprise. Death for himself? That he had expected to be a given. Death to his dog? That was an special type of evil that he truly didn’t think that the woman would have come up with.
Clearly he had underestimated her.
‘‘This is a message from Melissa.’‘ Benjamin’s words barely comprehended as Kerem was on his knees, nursing his dog as she slowly ‘‘This was a warning. Double cross the Rutherford’s again, and it’ll cause for more meetings like this.’‘
He knew it was a warning, and Kerem was well aware that she meant it - he had seen it in her glare. But where Melissa probably thought it would subdue him - make him once again want to worship the slavery that she had “so graciously” allowed them - it did the opposite. His anger was going to be a part of him.
It wasn’t just the Rutherfords who were going to pay now. It was Melissa. He was going to find a way to make her hurt the same way.
Or die trying.

Well, it's been a while. I'm alive and kicking, even if just barely. Things have been crazy for me for months and it's not going to get easier. But I've had a bit of time and space to breathe and even catch up on some shows. I had a break from dizis again but I finally managed to watch pilot episodes of some summer dizis (Seversin, Gizli Saklı, Senden Daha Güzel) and episode 1 of a Netflix show with Birce Akalay that I've already talked about - Kuş Uçuşu. None of these shows really caught my interest.
I can say that I liked Gizli Saklı the most and even watched past the first episode. The idea is new for a summer show. Two police officers going undercover and pretending to be a married couple - that's a great trope to play with. The actors have decent chemistry, the overall atmosphere is light, despite the presence of a mafia boss. The thing that put me off the show is the female lead's mother. An overbearing, controlling mother. There're all kinds of mothers and this is a totally believable example of smother-love. I just think that there's too much focus on the mother and the drama she brings, while there's plenty to explore if the focus was on the undercover part of the show.
The next show that left quite a good impression is Seversin. It's a light comedy that borders on mockery. I'm not keeping up with the show at the moment but I think I'll get around to watching more.
Senden Daha Güzel - this one I liked the least. I love Cemre and her character is nice but the male character is abhorrent to me and if I have a strong dislike towards one of the leads, there's no point in watching.
There's one more show that premiered at the start of July and that I discovered last week - Duy Beni. A high school teenage drama. I'm a living example that you can never be too old for this type of show. Even in my early 30s I love some good teenage angst 🙈 As things go in this type of shows, the students look way too old to be high schoolers. But I can overlook this cause the male and female leads are pretty and smoking hot together. The show is also giving me major Güneşi Beklerken vibes. The lead character is a slightly nicer version of Kerem Sayer. Kerem was ruthless and Kanat looks like a puppy compared to him. Kanat's family though is so much more messed up. Boy, it's a freak house and he definitely has a few screws loose because of that.
The enemies to lovers trope that was so delicious to watch in GB is present too but things seem to be progressing way faster than in GB (and thank god for that!). The problem of bullying is also a big part of the show so if this is a sensitive topic, it's better to approach the show with caution or steer clear of it all together.
That's pretty much it!
P.S. I'm wondering if Ekim and Kanat from Duy Beni have a ship name yet 🤔 Gonna call them Eknat.

yvonne-rutherford:
@drrutherford
Finding privacy in the crowded party was difficult, but eventually Yvonne found a relatively empty terrace where they could talk. Since she interrupted Gideon’s fight with Melissa, her arm had been firmly looped through her brother’s, guiding him away from the chaos. The desert air was hot on her skin as she released her grip on him and let her gaze drift out over the fountain. She drew in a deep breath and turned back to look at her brother, her gaze stern.
“What the hell were you thinking? Picking a fight with Melissa in the middle of the party? And what was that about denying her pain medication? For someone who claims to be uninvolved, you just can’t resist getting involved, can you?”
The arm, firmly looped around his – which may have been a comfort at any other time – begins to prickle his annoyance as his little sister all but marches him away from the crowds; making him feel very much like a naughty child. By the time she's released him, he has a foreboding feeling her intention wasn't only to rescue him.
"Don't start, Yv—" But she does; no more likely to wait for his permission than any other of his siblings. Gideon stifles a sigh, raising a hand to clasp the back of his neck. The muscles are taut, there. His nerves frayed.
"I didn't pick it," He protests, voice briefly eclipsing hers. "She insist-"
' — And what was that about denying her pain medication?'
The words die immediately on his tongue. He didn't realize she'd overheard that part. Sorely, selfishly, even, he wishes that she hadn't. Gideon begins to shake his head, even as her last words spear right through him, making him burn hot with shame.
"You don't get it, Yv!" He struggles to defend himself, "You don't understand what she did. She had Kerem's dog shot over a personal fucking vendetta! In association to our name, mind you. Don't you get it? How low does the bar go?"
How low would they allow it?

Your thoughts on the epi? I thought it was a good episode overall. Serkan is acting the way I thought he would: he wants to be the perfect Dad, is scared she won't love him, is spoiling her but also teaching her things. I'm not quite sure why Kiraz isn't calling him Baba, maybe she needs time to adjust to calling him that. I have mixed emotions when it comes to the way Eda spied on Serkan. I understand she's worried but trust the man a little. No comments on Aydan and Ayfer! They are too much!
Hello! I liked the episode. It felt very light, very romcom-y and I thought it was very enjoyable to watch. Loved every minute of Serkan trying to be the ideal dad and I'm here for the Edser UST this ep brought. They want each other sooooo much. And, yes, Eda wants him, she wants him bad. I thought the custody thing at the end was silly and convoluted, but, hey, I'm totally here for the "they're not together and fighting their feelings, but forced to live together" trope so I will just ignore how unbelievable it would be for Edser to be drowning in hearteyes for each other all ep, getting along in regards to Kiraz, AND seemingly aware that Aydan/Ayfer were up to something and still allow a misunderstanding over their shenanigans to spiral to that nonsense degree.
Maybe the folks that think that Serkan & Eda were playing all the meddling family and friends are right, and they set it up beforehand, it's just that I've thought things were a fake out on this show so many times, only for them to be real, so at this point I'm operating under the assumption that this is just a romcom plot point to throw our romantic leads together and it's not worth examining it too closely.
I'll give my thoughts on the "Baba" vs "Serkan Bolat" thing and Eda's actions after we talk a bit about the B, C and D players... Thankfully we had plenty of Edser and Kiraz screen time this ep so the supporting stories didn't overwhelm the episode too much.
(much more under the cut)
That being said, who can we pay to get these people to mind their own f-cking business? LMAO. At least Engin and Piril weren't annoying and were actually trying to be helpful. I mean, Piril is still cancelled, but if she's not causing trouble now then she's not at the top of my shit list. However, I did laugh at her when she's sort of pleading with Serkan: "We've been friends for a long time, you'll understand why I did this." Um... what, Piril? You're sitting there approximately 72 hours after Serkan found out he has a child and he's already proven that he's ALL IN on being a father, and you expect Serkan to think you were right for hiding it from him? Cause why? He has already proven that any concerns you had about him rejecting Kiraz were invalid. The only thing wrong with Serkan's anger at Piril is that it will probably only last for that scene.
Anyone else think Kerem the assistant is an ass? Seriously, do they really want us to root for sweet Pina to be with this dickweasel? He's insecure, he thinks he knows it all, he's snarky and lashes out, he's vindictive. No thanks.
As for Aydan and Ayfer. Ooph. As punishment for their unprecedented assery this episode they both need to be stranded on a desert island with only each other. Only then maybe they'll learn not to insert themselves by such underhanded means. They're both giant pains in the ass, but Ayfer still annoys me more than Aydan. Because here's the thing, once Edser is back together and Serkan is happy, Aydan will fully embrace Eda again, but I don't think the same can be said for Ayfer. Did you see some of the bitchy, sour faces Ayfer was making, taunting Eda about her soft spot for Serkan. She's insufferable.
Turning to the nonsense meddling custody plot line, Kemal and Seyfi were just following orders, but what is Melo's excuse? It's unfortunate that the narrative pulled her into this. Ayfer may have her head in the sand, and not really care what Eda wants, but Melo does and she knew that Eda wanted to cooperate with Serkan and bring him into Kiraz's life, she knew that Eda was about 2 seconds from melting every time she was near Serkan, and that they were likely on the cusp of rekindling their relationship. There is no way she should have been complicit in trying to get evidence against Serkan or visiting lawyers behind Eda's back.
However, even after being complicit in Ayfer's nonsense, she still deserves a helluva lot better than Burak. That guy was annoying af this episode. What exactly does he think he's doing? I'm sorry, in that situation you step back and give the people going through such a monumental life change some space. Again, it's not like it needs to be forever, but you don't try and monopolize the kid's time the night of and 2 days after she meets her long-lost father. He needs to fuck all he way off.
Also since Eda had no interest in this guy, why is he coming over to tuck in the kid EVERY night? I get that he's been good to Kiraz and they have a nice relationship, but that's soooo overkill, it's just not normal. Especially since they've said they've only been living there a year. The only reason for a dude to revolve his entire life around a kid like that is because he's actively trying to get in the mom's pants. So when it comes to Burak's intentions, Eda is as dense as Serkan used to be with Balca/Selin/Actress. Burak only took that level of interest and inserted himself into their lives because he wanted Eda, and Eda should realize that and have a frank conversation with him. Eda doesn't even have to be cognizant that she will inevitably get back together with Serkan, she already knows she has no interest in Burak. She should tell him. And if she's already told him (which it seems she might have from her comments to Ayfer and Melo) she should put some boundaries in place because his presence was ridiculous.
It still blows my mind that this sad sack thinks he has a shot with Eda. Seriously, while the dude isn't hideous, he's also not attractive and he has the personality of dead grass coupled with the charisma of warm mayonnaise. He's not worthy of either Eda or Melo. The scene of Melo and Burak walking on the beach made me a bit uncomfortable. They're totally setting that relationship up, but so far all we see is Melo obviously harboring feelings for him as Burak broods over his Eda delusions. We'll have to see how this plays out, but I feel like Burak didn't need to be this upset over Eda for the story to work, and it would be a lot easier to root for him with Melo if by episode 5 if he wasn't still actively trying, as Engin said, to take over Serkan's family.
On to Edser and the newly forming Bolat family unit. It's funny, I'm not someone who thinks a woman needs to take her husband's last name, I think people should do whatever they want, but for whatever reason I really, really want Eda and Kiraz to have his name. Maybe because I think they all crave having people to belong to in a sense. Serkan because he was unloved and sent overseas alone at such a young age, Eda because she was an orphan, Kiraz because she didn't have a dad in early childhood. So for that reason, I really do feel like it will be meaningful to have them tied together that way as a family unit. They belong to each other now (or they will soon).
Along those lines, you say you're not sure why Kiraz isn't calling him Baba, narratively, I think it's because that will be a big milestone in their relationship. When she feels comfortable enough, connected enough, and secure enough with him to do that, it's going to melt all of our hearts right out of our chests. If she'd done it right away it wouldn't feel as special as it's going to feel when it eventually happens because she feels it (not just because it's a fact).
As for her calling him Serkan Bolat, I think it's adorable. That's how she knew him before, it would be weird if she called him anything other than that or Baba, (like Serkan or Abi) because then it would be like she was settling on that, but calling him by his full name, which is such a part of his identity, is cute and charming and pays tribute to the interactions they had before they knew of their relationship, and it's a signal that it's only temporary. Baba is coming, don't worry.
Loved Kiraz showing Serkan her room and all of her things, and really loved Eda standing there, smiling, soaking it in. I've seen a lot of criticism of Eda in this episode and she did have a few moments that were unnecessarily harsh, but I think it's also valid to give her a minute to adjust because this is a lot of change in just a couple of days. While she now knows Serkan had understandable, and even noble, reasons for what he did and said, that still doesn't erase the heartbreak and pain he put her through, or the 5 years of being a single mother and not having anyone to consult or needing to consult anyone on decisions regarding Kiraz.
I do think, though, that we didn't see Eda give him enough credit when he covered for her lies to Kiraz. When Kiraz asked her why she didn't tell her Serkan Bolat was her father and then asked him when mom didn't answer, he could have easily told the truth and thrown Eda under the bus, big time, but instead he comes up with something that passes as an explanation, doesn't make anyone a villain, but also doesn't make him look great. I wish we'd seen Eda recognize that. It was a magnanimous gesture on his part, since he and Kiraz were the ones who were lied to for 5 years.
However, her running a bit hot and cold this episode makes sense. On one hand when she's around him her heart feels that strong orbital pull towards him. She loves him. She always has loved him, she always will love him. Just like with Serkan, that will not change, and obviously didn't after heartbreak and separation. But it also makes sense that at times her head takes over and with it the fear and the memory of the pain and she freezes up a bit. It doesn't ding her or their love, she just needs time to let herself believe that this is really happening. That Serkan is back, that he still loves her, that he loves their daughter and wants to be a father and form a family. From the way she recorded those videos, how many times do we think she dreamed of them being a happy family together? I'm guessing a lot. Now it's within her grasp and I think she just needs to be sure that Serkan is for real before she fully succumbs to this dream.
She also needs to get over her pride, I'm sure there's a part of her (Ayfer's voice) telling her a woman doesn't go back to a man who hurt her that badly. But as we saw, girlfriend was snuggling with his shirt, she still has it so bad for him. But, pro tip, Eda, he wanted to stay the night, wouldn't it be so much more fulfilling to snuggle with the real thing? I promise it would... just let him in. The lawn scene was hilarious. Kerem is really and truly a gifted physical comedian. We know how tight the timelines are on this show and they don't get to do a lot of takes, but his stumbling over the furniture and falling was flawlessly done. Hande was great too... that bat! Of course the sexual tension in the robes and towel scene was magnificent. When she first walked in wearing that towell I thought my man was going to combust. That look on his face, priceless.
Speaking of priceless, what first-day Baba makes his little girl's dreams come true like Serkan Bolat does? Staying up all night to build her flying house? MY HEART!
What a fantastic first gift. It was incredibly thoughtful, it was meaningful to the two of them, and it was also Serkan giving a piece of himself (using his skills in what he does best as an architect) to her.
Absolute perfection.
And how sweet that Serkan wanted to spend the day with her alone!?! I really liked that because we all know he loves Eda, he wants Eda back, and he will use any excuse to spend time with Eda. And he could have done that here, but he doesn't. So the fact that he wanted to spend the day alone with Kiraz, clearly illustrates that his interest in Kiraz, his desire to be her father stands on it's own. Kiraz is not just an excuse to get close to Eda, he is pursuing both relationships, and they are both important to him.
Also you said that you have mixed emotions on the way Eda spied on Serkan, that she doesn't trust him, but honestly I really don't think it's about that. She might have been a little discombobulated by the idea because the man has never really spent any time with children and here he's thrust into fatherhood, but she trusts him and knows Kiraz is safe with him. Honestly, I think her biggest driving factor in following them is FOMO.
She doesn't want to miss this! She has wondered what kind of father he might be for years, and now she wants to witness it. She wants to be there and see what he's like when he's spending time with her. She also wants to be a part of it, and a part of her might be a little jealous. For years she's been the only parent, and now another parental bond is forming and it's natural she is curious what that's going to look like.
Melo even sees through her during their conversations while they're out spying. Eda pretends it's because she's worried that Serkan doesn't know what he's doing, but Melo susses out that it's really because she missed Serkan. I think she really just wanted to be a part of it.
And her ulterior motives are exposed when she reacts with jealousy over the park moms and then with Hulya. She's jealous over Serkan, but also over what it might mean if Serkan had a woman in his life that's not Eda. (Real simple way to ensure that doesn't happen, Eda, just saying). On first watch it was a little frustrating to watch Eda be upset about Huyla and not have it cleared up immediately. However, on the second time through I found it incredibly enjoyable to watch. Hilarious even. Knowing that Serkan is going to let her off the hook just a few minutes later, and it's not going to be a drawn out misunderstanding, it's very fun to watch him just totally bask in her jealousy. The way he sits there and giggles and is just so chuffed at her display was very endearing. Since he's been celibate for 5 years, I suppose he's earned an incrediulous laugh at her thinking he has all these women on the line.
Eda is not wrong to be concerned about the Bolat's ability to spoil Kiraz with material things, Aydan can get out of control, however I can't be mad at the pony. The girl asked him if he had horses the first day they met, she said she wanted a dad like Serkan who had horses, he HAD to get her one she could actually ride! The girl was deprived of her father for 5 years because both of her parents are stubborn, so, let's be real, she kinda deserves a pony. Besides Eda should be more worried about the "spoiling" she gets from her camp, where she, Ayfer, Melo and Burak let her get away with constantly running away/running wild, eating ice cream whenever she wants, being rude to strangers etc. The fact that she's taught it's okay to knock a customer's water over without apologizing is more damaging to a forming personality than a pony. (Yes, that was another dig at Burak.) The point is, spoiling isn't only about material things, and from the glimpses we've seen of Baba Serkan he's already taught her about taking responsibility (confessing to breaking the window and apologizing), being self sufficient (tying shoelaces, putting pjs on herself), and setting behavioral boundaries (don't shoot arrows at people in hotels, you shouldn't hug strangers). He's going to be a very good influence in her life, because despite growing up with material privilege the man believes in hard work, effort and personal accountability.
Anyway, loved that when Serkan told Eda about dinner with Engin/Piril/Can she looked so secretly pleased when she casually agreed to go. I think that goes hand in hand with why she was spying, she won't let herself admit it, but she so badly wants them to do things as a family. That was part of her tug o' war this episode. Wanting that, but then suddenly worrying that maybe she shouldn't want that after everything that's happened, those feelings are helped along by Ayfer's judgemental looks and comments, and Burak trying to assert his place and Eda maybe feeling guilty.
Eda's behavior at dinner perfectly summarized the war going on between her head and heart this episode. First she fights with Serkan, going so far as to tell him she hates him, but the second she gets good news she flings herself into his arms. He's the person she wants to celebrate with, he's the person she wants congratulations from. So even if she was mad at him, she can't help herself. Also thank you Engin for telling Eda how Serkan lost weight and didn't come to work for months after she left. Those are important things for her to know. Also reinforced later by Aydan.
And thank you, Jan, for planting that fear of her dad leaving again with Kiraz, because it gave us sleep over at the Bolat house. It also gave us Kiraz asking Serkan if he will leave her. A good question and I'm glad we have Serkan's promise to never leave her. Just with the way tragedy (and meddling family members and obsessed stalkers) seems to find both Eda and Serkan, it's good he's made that promise. And it's good that he knows she needs that promise.
Now onto the secret room. I suppose if you're going to keep all of that and you have a large house, then you might as well keep it in a special room. This was a huge missing piece for Eda. Something tangible that she can see with her own two eyes that proves that he never forgot her and has been pining for her since the day they parted. I thought Eda was suitably touched by it all, and the fact that he got her gifts for every birthday. Anyone else think that they're going to get married on the beach and she's going to wear those flip-flops, that white dress, and the locket when they do? That's what sprung to my mind. The Neslihan scarf product placement made me roll my eyes, though.
To be honest I really didn't care what the gifts were, all I cared about was that thank you cheek kiss. I DIE. The birthday-present-thank-you cheek kiss he gave her in 7 is one of my all time favorite scenes and this parallel was a long time coming and wonderfully executed. And then they delivered on the USTy stare off where they clearly want to make out, but they're not quite there yet. It was going to have to be Eda that broke them out of it, because up to Serkan they either kiss or he stares at her for the rest of time.
Did anyone else feel a crick in their back, neck, legs at how Eda slept on that couch? Serkan was as comfy as can be, stretched out using her legs as a pillow and her torso as a blanket, lol. I wish the editors would have given us a couple of more seconds lingering on them all contorted like that. It was too precious. It would have been sweet if they'd had Kiraz find them and watch them for a minute before waking them up. Show the parent-trapping gears turning in her mind.
Buba absolutely deserved Serkan showing up to spoil his outing. And of course both ladies instantly gravitated to Serkan. I liked this scene because it gave us over-the-top BDE Serkan, a whiff of "Drain the pool" Serkan, the comedy of Engin and Serkan doing the Cyrano thing, and the obvious little "fish" measuring metaphor. But what I really liked was Eda telling him that he didn't need to try so hard to win Kiraz, that he just had to be himself. That was important and lovely, and illustrated to him that she really did want him to develop a good relationship with Kiraz.
The best moments of the episode for them, though, came during their family stargazing outing. Loved Serkan's extra safety precautions, including the mirror just so he can see her in the backseat. Though, if he's that concerned about it, maybe a larger car, lmao? Kiraz tricking them into kissing was an auspicious start to the evening, hopefully that's a taste of things to come. I'm here for her forcing the two of them into intimate situations.
The way Serkan was looking at the two of them throughout the stargazing was something else. He was looking at them with such longing. Like he couldn't believe they were so close, but he wanted them so badly. DUDE, they are right there, continue to play your cards right (and not let Ayfer and Aydan spoil things, spoiler alert, they do) and you're just days away from having everything you want. Loved that he changed the Apollo story to give it the happy ending he wants. Hopefully, that gave hope to any doomsdayers out there that think this show is going to end in tragedy. (Spoiler alert, it's not).
The only shame is that they have that nice (if not detached from reality conversation since they pretend they're not going to be together raising Kiraz) adult conversation about cooperating and working out how they're going to deal with Aydan and Ayfer, only for things to go totally off the rails during said conversations. As I said off the top of this marathon post, it was totally unbelievable in the context of the rest of the episode, but as I always say you can't take this show too seriously, and I prefer to just enjoy the situations as they come and not get too annoyed when they take these writing shortcuts to drive the plot. I plan on very much enjoying Eda and Serkan forced to live together while they're (or at least she) is still pretending they're not going to end up together. Looks like next week is another fun romcom romp, and I'm here for it!

(sinan & işik | imagine)
While rain splattered outside on the streets, a girl waited rather impatiently in her bedroom. Her music cassette was already off, and the book she had been previously reading was left on a random page on her desk. Sitting with her legs crossed in her bed, she could only focus on the sound her watch made. The nerves had been consuming her for the past hours, and the gloomy weather wasn't exactly helping her.
She still had three minutes left, but the faint sound of her mother knitting in the living room made her more nervous than usual.
The three minutes turned to two, and doing her best not to make any sound, she grabbed her purse, fixed a bit her light pink cardigan and light blue jeans, and tiptoed to the front door. She noticed her father was finishing his newspaper in the kitchen, without seeing what she was up to.
The bell rang a minute before seven and Işik didn't waste any second on opening the door, almost dropping her keys on the process.
"Hi." She greeted enthusiastically.
Sinan gave her a small smile, a few strands of his hair already wet as well as his worn out leather jacket, his eyelashes coated with drops of water. "Hey." He answered.
They stood like that for a few seconds, Işik taking in his appearance and the fact that he seemed to be shivering in spite of the wave of warmth that had enveloped him as soon as he set foot on the building. Before she could even worry about him getting sick and complain that he didn't have an umbrella, he was slowly leaning forward, just like they had done a hundred times since they started dating.
They jolted apart half a second late when their noses were brushing, Işik's eyes wide like a deer in the headlights and the heat building in Sinan's cheeks while they looked at her mother.
"Good evening, miss Aynur." He greeted as politely as possible, trying not to fumble with his hands.
"We were just leaving for the movie. We don't want to be late." Işık explained, trying not to squirm under her mother's gaze.
The woman settled her gaze on Sinan. "Are you two going alone?" She asked with a stern voice.
Sinan swallowed nervously. "No, ma'am."
"We're going with some other friends." Işik added, trying not to look frantically between him and her.
"And Işik will be here before ten, right?" She asked even if it sounded more like a statement instead of a question.
He nodded. "Exactly, I'll walk her home as soon as the movie finishes. We'll be careful, we don't want you to worry." He tried to convince her, his confidence slowly growing while Işik gave him a small smile.
Aynur stared at him down one last time with knowing skepticism. Before Işik could feel embarrassed if her mother didn't allow her to leave even if she had already asked a week ago, the woman's eye softened and she let out a sigh.
"All right, you can leave now. Please, behave and be careful."
Both of them nodded, Işik letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding as soon as she stepped into the hallway and her mother closed the door.
"Are you sure you don't want a sweater? You could catch a cold and it's raining a lot outside. I don't mind asking my dad for one." Işik gushed while they both walked down the stairs.
Sinan shrugged. "I'm fine, it's not even that cold."
The thunder that sounded outside was enough for Işik to stop on her tracks. He turned around to find her crossing her arms, concern written all over her face.
He did his best to avoid rolling his eyes and only left his hand on her shoulder, the soft fabric of her cardigan feeling warm. "We're going to be late for the movie." He reminded her, lowering his voice once a neighbor passed by them.
She finally gave in, both of them finally reaching the last floor. Before he could open the door for her, Işik stopped him, gently tugging on his arm.
After quickly glancing around the floor to make sure that there weren’t any noisy neighbors, she stood on her tiptoes and leaned in to press a chaste kiss to his lips.
Sinan blinked in surprise as the corners of his lips turned up into a smile. While Işik's cheeks started to grow pink, she glanced at her watch. "We should get going, the rest are going to get mad if we..."
"Kiss me again." He interrupted her.
He really couldn't help himself after seeing her bite down a grin. Before she could stand on her tiptoes again, he cupped her face, his fingers brushing against her jaw while he kissed her.
Işik closed her eyes, a feeling of happiness bubbling inside of her like it was the first time they saw each other after months, even if they had gone out for lunch the week before.
Her hand rested on his shoulder, and before she could thread her fingers through his damp hair, a car honk made them pull away immediately. While Sinan cursed under his breath, Işik fixed a bit her white shirt before opening the door.
Sinan quickly took his jacket off and held it above their heads while they crossed the street to reach Kerem's car. He opened the door for her, a smile appearing in his face once he heard her greet the rest enthusiastically.
"God, it's fucking freezing." Eda mumbled, her nose pink from the wind and her arms rubbing against each other for warmth. She glanced at Işik, a smirk in her face as she passed her weight from one foot to the other. “Nice jacket.”
Işik blushed, clearing her throaty before digging her hands into the pockets of Sinan’s leather jacket. “What’s taking them so long?”
Before Eda could answer, the three boys left the building. They talked in hushed whispers while Eda and Işik looked at each other confused. While Eda shrugged, the three of them walked at a fast pace back to them.
“Let’s go.” Osman said before leading them, a hazelnut on his mouth as they turned on the end of the street.
Işik furrowed her brows. “Wha— Where are we going? I thought there were enough tickets yet.”
Sinan shrugged, Kerem chuckling in front of them. “No one’s inside, they won’t notice us with all the lights out.”
“What?” Işik almost shouted.
Eda pinches her arms to keep her quiet. “Don’t shout, fuck.”
“We’re going to sneak in?” She asked, her voice barely a whisper.
She would have stopped in her tracks if Sinan’s arm wasn’t wrapped around her waist. With her heart beating too fast, she followed them into the back of the building, the rest ignoring how she mumbled that someone would see them and call the police for trespassing.
“They always leave this door unlocked on case of a fire.” Osman said double checking that no one was around before opening the door. “I know someone who works here.”
“I can’t believe you know that.” Eda replied before entering the cinema, Işik close behind her wanting to end that as soon as possible.
While they walked down the hall avoiding anyone who worked there as best as they could, Kerem turned to Osman. “You can’t be human. How are you not the slightest cold?”
Osman only shrugged. “It’s warm in here, not a big deal.”
“It’s not that cold.” Sinan added, stopping once he read a sign opposite them.
“Rerun of Karate Kid, 1984.” Eda read out loud. “What time is it?”
Işik glanced at her watch. “We have five minutes left.”
Osman and Eda looked at each other with a knowing look. “I’ll get the sodas.” Eda said before leaving with Kerem.
“I’ll buy popcorn.” Osman added.
Işik let out a sigh, a small frown on her face while she glanced around for fear of being caught. Before Sinan could reassure her that nothing would happen, she gasped.
“Ah! They’re showing Romeo and Juliet next week. We have to come, please. The book is so romantic, I love their love story so much. So tragic but beautiful.” She ranted dragging his arm to see the poster in front of them, a small glimmer on her eyes while she spoke with passion.
She then turned to Sinan, determination set on her face. “We’re coming to see it, right?”
It only took her three seconds to convince him, Sinan letting out a sigh before nodding. “Fine...even if I’m sure you’ll end up crying.”
“But it’ll be worth it.” She carried on, taking out his jacket and folding it. “Thanks.” She mumbled before they walked towards the rest, already entering the room to see the movie.
Sinan sat down next to her, a bag of popcorn being passed from him to the other end of the seats where Kerem sat at. They were just in time for a few movie trailers, Işik grinning at him once they showed Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes.
He groaned, trying not to roll his eyes or make a remark at the stupidity of both tragic lovers. “The things I do for you.” He sarcastically said.
She only chuckled before taking a sip of the soda they were sharing. “I don’t consider watching a romantic movie a punishment.”
Sinan bit the inside of his cheek to avoid saying that they were unrealistic. “It begins like that, convincing me to watch a romantic movie, and then, who knows?” He teased, a soft smile on his face as he made Işik chuckle, even more, the girl trying not to since anybody could shush her. “God, one day I’ll wake up and we’ll be married with two kids.”
Before Işik could say something, even if she almost dropped their soda because of what he had said, the movie had begun.
“God, Ralph Macchio is so hot.” Eda whispered.
Işik was sure Kerem rolled his eyes, even if she couldn’t see him in the dark. “I could beat his ass.” He mumbled.
After Johnny fought Daniel on the beach, Işik leaned her head in Sinan’s shoulder, a smile on her face once he left a kiss on top of her head and wrapped an arm around her shoulder. Spending time with him and their friends was worth the feeling of almost having a heart attack when they sneaked in.

Hi! Today's episode was perfect. Loved to see Edser pretending to be a married couple when they already act that way 😂.
Serkan asking for Engin's help at the grocery store was hilarious as well as acting as an expert on watermelons. Love their friendship 💕.
Adored the scene where Edser+Kiraz woke up together and the name Serkan chose for the horse and the explanation he gave. Yildiz ❤. He'll never give up on Eda.
Piril and Engin vs Eda and Serkan dancing... It was obvious Edser will win. The tango was 🔥 just like the moment, Serkan mentioned he missed Eda's smell.
Everything was brilliant. Everyone did an amazing job!!! 👏
Btw, can't believe that once again, Gold wasn't included. What do we have to do to listen to it?
hi martha <333 how you been?
the episode was really funny! serkan at the store was everything to me. it was cute how he called engin asking for helped and then eda went to the rescue because she knew he was going to make it out of there alive. the watermelon explanation was funny too!
please the scene of the three waking up together was SO sweet. serkan deserved to have his two girls wrapped around him and wake up seeing their angelic faces. love how eda spent 30 seconds admiring and then was like no.. time to get him out lmao
the tango scene.... hot. hande and kerem have an amazing chemistry, one of the bests I have scene! it didn’t occurred to me that he was going to look for her scent and that was so wholesome. ugh!!
imma tell you that I don’t even know when are we going to get gold again... im waiting.... like it has to happened one of these days because I refused for this season to end without hearing the anthem!

msmelissalin:
‘‘I’ll – I’ll tell boss lady,’‘ And hope she doesn’t cut my balls off, he thought.
Benjamin fidgeted under the scrutiny, realizing that he couldn’t hide the truth no matter how his tongue decided to twist it in the next sentence. He respected Gideon’s no-nonsense approach and maybe that’s what set him apart from his family as he’d come to know them. Taking a deep breath, he began to recount the events that led to his injury. He knew Melissa trusted Gideon, he’d heard and seen as such, so opening up didn’t seem like a knife to the chest.
Or a death sentence.
“We were just trying to find a way out, and it took us to the back of the boat, it was hell trying to get off. I honestly thought we wouldn’t. Melissa thought she knew away out until the Italian’s cornered us. They didn’t take kindly to women trying to take the lives of their bosses apparently,” Benjamin scoffed. If he’d have been there that night, she might’ve never got herself into that situation and that angered him. He didn’t really understand his loyalty to Melissa, but he knew he’d die for it and that was all that mattered. She taught and shaped him.
“They lunged for her, so I just got in the way and kinda’ shielded her. Thankfully someone started shooting. It was dark, chaotic, and I didn’t even see who did it,” Benjamin shrugged, pointing down at the ugly scar that was definitely infected. The sight alone made his head tumble for a second, snapping his gaze away. ‘’Someone did this in the back of a van, with everything going on – coming here? Just wasn’t an option. To many people died, man.’’
Benjamin’s head hung, and for just a split second, there sat a boy. But of course, as he’d been taught, weakness would only eat at him. So he shook it off, and lifted his head until he was eye level with Gideon. ‘’That’s the truth,’’ and he meant it.
Looking down at his leg once more, he sighed. ‘’I honestly couldn’t tell ya, they just did it and told me to go.’’ It’d been that fast, in and out. Many people had needed help, and he was thankful Melissa had gotten him seen as quickly as she did.
.
He listens with more patience than he’s rumoured to have as Benjamin explains the mafioso misadventures that mangled his leg and landed him in hot water. It doesn’t take much prompting for the boy to spill the story, and absently Gideon wonders whether that’s because he trusts him or whether he’s just desperate. It makes little difference in the end; either way it’s a quality with a lifespan measured in months or years, tops. Seasoned mobsters don’t sing like that... And very rarely are they honest.
“Who’s ‘they’?” It’s the only question he asks, offering neither criticism nor praise for Benjamin’s choice to lunge head-first into the fray after his mistress. “I get confused with how many enemies Melissa makes these days...” If sarcasm drips from Gideon’s tongue when it comes to that particular statement, it isn’t aimed at the boy. But he’s still bitter at her; still fuming over how low she’d sunk in shooting Kerem’s dog.
In how she’d made Benjamin pull the trigger.
‘... Too many people died, man.’ The surgeon stills his careful work of assessing the young man’s leg, eyes flickering up to the patient’s face. He takes in the harrowed expression on Benjamin’s face, and is momentarily struck by exactly how young he looks all of a sudden. He’d always been mindful of the lackey’s youth, of his painful inexperience — but trauma has a way of stripping even the superficial defense that Melissa had tried to coax around him.
“And it’s just the beginning.”
Not the war, but Benjamin’s part in it, specifically. The Rutherford doesn’t mince his words as he studies the young man, willing him to take heed. “ — What do you want, Ben?” When he goes to open his mouth, Gideon taps his knee to give him pause; to discourage a half-baked answer. “Really want, I mean. Out of all this mess. Forget Mel for a sec, whatever she’s told you. What do you think you’ll get out of all this?”
