Revenge Porn?
Tumblr media
International cyber stalker Kent Madin was found guilty of publishing an intimate photograph of one of his victims and the image was ordered removed by the Australian ESafety Board, the government authority that polices "revenge porn."
This latest conviction of cyber crime follows the recent legal ruling in Sweden which resulted in Kent Madin's cyberstalking websites being banned in all 27 nations of the European Union.
Infamous Montana resident Kent Madin, a flagrant, obsessive and appallingly invasive Cyberstalker and Troll, defends his sick obsession with pictures of men’s underpants by criticising a Federal Government order to remove the images from his websites as being unfair.
And in some ways, you can sympathise with Kent Madin because in all fairness his sheer tenacity in holding such perverse images so close to his heart reveals his rampant homoerotic passions.
Of course, he is entitled to all the homoerotic passions his weird little heart desires, but he should use images of his friends and Grindr mates, not total strangers from another country.
It begs the question of how comfortable this so-called married man’s little wifey Linda Svendsen (honky-tonk ‘Homestake’ band member) is with her hubby’s public slavering over largely naked strangers whom he’s never met.
How many male erotic fantasies does he have down there in his secluded basement, and does he have poster-sized images of them in his toilet as well? Does he have secret files on his computer?
But sadly, for him, the law is the law, and despite being the self-appointed expert on all things and a self-proclaimed investigative journalist (insert laugh here), he is subject to the law, just like his hero Trump.
We sit in sadness as this self-righteous, defiant juvenile contrarian attempts to flout the law. But not for long. The wheels are in motion.
Instead of removing the images as has been ordered to do, he tries to mask them.
Some people grow old without ever having grown up.

Black Hole In A Blue Sky: Montana’s Ugliest Secret
Tumblr media
The history of the Wild West, despite its self-congratulatory Hollywood grandiosity, is so often one of good intentions, human decency and hard work poisoned by the greed and jealousy of petty tyrants who cannot see any further than their own evil egos. For civilisation is always the story of law and order for the majority replacing meaningless corruption of the few.
One man’s decade-long black secret of sustained hatred of others, of Cyberstalking, Trolling, and attempted destruction of other people’s lives - men, women and children - if it were publicly broadcast, would be the greatest scandal in Bozeman’s history. If decent people of Bozeman discovered the truth of Troll Central - that basement of horrors - the shame to himself, to his wife, to his family, and to his friends who trusted him and believed his psychotic stories; all that life would end in a blaze of public revulsion, with no place left for him and his family and the people that stood on his side to hide.
Bozeman has a right to know the truth of this Troll so that Bozeman’s proud story of literature, law, legend and learning can add another step forward; that into that small black hole in its blue sky is consigned to the rancid memory of America’s worst Cyberstalker, and Bozeman’s society can finally be cleansed of the stain of a predatory and malignant narcissist.
Surrounded by Montana’s stunning natural beauty, mixing with fine people who share a lifestyle within that glorious environment, lives a delusional and psychotic old man with a heart overflowing with hatred. He’s a tragic paradox: a sick black hole in a sky full of light.
Alone in his basement for more than a decade, his life has shrunk to one obsessive focus, hating other people. Not former friends or even relatives, but total strangers living on the other side of the world. People he has never met and whose lives he could not possibly understand.
He chooses his targets at random, yet they all appear to have one thing in common. Their success in life reminds him of his highly successful brothers, of whom he is intensely jealous. Not just because they have achieved national and even international renown, but because he was a family failure who by comparison appears to have achieved nothing positive in life.
But what he has carved out for himself, alone in his delusions of being a journalist and surrounded by multiple fake identities, is international notoriety of a type that would sicken the stomachs of his loving mother and highly respected scientist father.
He is what the British Police term a ‘Fixated Loner’. Hiding behind a keyboard, working day and night trying to destroy other people’s lives, he is the modern Wizard of Oz. A tragic, psychotic freak, overpowered by his vicious obsessions, desperately in need of psychiatric help that he’ll never receive.
What he has received instead is a complex net that is rapidly closing around him. In fact, two nets. The first net is of widespread disgust at his pointless cruelty for cruelty’s sake, buttressed by his brazen self-righteousness: matching in every respect the modus operandi of the classical psychopath for whom other people’s pain is his greatest pleasure.
The second net is the removal of old freedoms. Where, for over a decade, he has exploited the indifference of his online hosts to his criminal behaviour, he has been booted off by online adventure, academics and other forums for abusing every privilege they offer in good faith.
Recently Google, in Australia has closed down his extremely defamatory websites and hundreds of linked pages. Across the whole of Europe, Google was ordered to shut down his extremely defamatory websites and hundreds of linked pages due to severe GDPR violations. However, Australian Police still want him for questioning over a death threat and lawyers seek to impose a fine for GDPR violations.
As this net tightens, he is becoming increasingly desperate and defiant, like the thwarted angry teen he really is. In an eruption of violent defamation he constructed a new website that he must have hoped would restore his campaign of public tyranny. However, the owners of the platform took one look at this outrage and removed his website, cancelled his domain and have banned him for life. There is no doubt he will try to exploit other online platforms and free web building templates, but it is equally clear that the owners do not want such abuse polluting their commercial reputation, and will boot him off at a moment’s notice.
What this represents is a powerful new dawn in the previously lax tolerance by authorities for internet outrages. Now they are cracking down, and any online psychopath seeing a clear blue sky ought to realise his days are numbered. The world is signalling it has had enough of Keyboard Cowards who lack a moral compass or any form of empathy for those whose lives they intentionally destroy, along with the social fabric that is also torn apart as collateral damage.
Media outlets are increasingly reporting the successful prosecutions of these sick creeps. Here are some recent cases, where Trolls, Cyberstalkers and their cowardly ilk are going to prison for lengthy periods for violating the lives of innocent people. Trolls are being targeted by authorities who have had enough. The game is basically over for them.
These news articles reveal the public revulsion of Trolls and Cyberstalkers. The list of Prosecutions in the US and Australia are rapidly expanding.

Kent Madin GDPR violations
Tumblr media
Kent Madin, a resident of Bozeman, Montana and former Honorary Consul of Mongolia for the Northern Rockies, founder of Boojum has breached numerous GDPR violations a decision made after several months of investigation by Sweden’s data privacy regulator because sensitive user data was apparently obtained under false pretences and shared with third parties including a website in the public domain without valid consent.
The preliminary ruling issued by the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) notes that Google LLC (Google) has not, in accordance with the complainant’s request, taken steps to ensure that search results are not displayed on Google’s search services in the case of searches that can be made from Sweden in relation to the web address (referred to as a journalistic report by a citizen of the Untied States) and with the search terms (first and last name of the complainant) as set out in Annex 1.
Google processes this personal data in violation of
Article 17 of the GDPR, by not deleting the complainant’s personal data without undue delay
Article 9 of the GDPR, by processing sensitive personal data without having a valid exception to the prohibition on processing sensitive personal data
Article 10 of the GDPR by processing personal data relating to criminal offences without the processing being permitted.
In accordance with Article 58(2)(d) of the GDPR, IMY orders Google to take steps to ensure that search results relating to the mentioned URL:s are not displayed when searching the search terms set out in Annex 1 that can be made using Google’s search services from Sweden and possibly throughout the EU. Google have been order to implement the order no later than two weeks after the date of entry into force of this Decision which was made on May 25th, 2022.
IMY stated that these were “grave violations” of GDPR requirements around valid consent and added that it was “imperative” that such should “cease”.
The victims affected globally are considering pursuing damages from both Google LLC and Kent Madin.
A copy of the 10 page document from Lawyers for the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) is available to official journalists, press and investigative authorities on request.

Crocodile Tears
Tumblr media
When I was eleven, maybe twelve years old, I stumbled upon this short, stubby book with the words "Red Wall" etched along its battered cover.
It was bursting with hundreds of pages with tight text and the thought of finishing it felt entirely impossible to me at the time. It seemed like an awful lot of reading and for what?
But then, I read the first page and then the second and then the third and, before I knew it, the last.
"Red Wall" by Brian Jacques didn't change my life in any way but it was the book that made me fall in love with reading and, eventually, allowed my love of reading to pick up other books.
People don’t often ask me for book recommendations. If I am asked, my short answer is: Just read the shit you enjoy.
Life is far too short to read stuff that isn’t any fun to read and I think if we just read stuff we enjoy, our curiosities will naturally lead us to stuff that was written for us…
So, let’s talk written shit for a while. You can normally find this on twitter. It comes as no surprise that the Bozeman Troll is alerting the world yet again.
You can read his shit on his twitter account: kmadin.
His latest rants are below for you close inspection.
***
The Bozeman Troll writes on twitter…
kent-madin.com a textbook example of harassment and defamation. It appears anonymous, but it's the work of Ripley Davenport. At the bottom it says "Freedom of Speech refers to truth. It is not a licence to tell lies, or deliberately distort and twist the truth."..Wow ...
FOS refers to the right to say virtually anything, true or not. Say the earth is flat? This is FOS. But...say things you know are false for personal gain or to intentionally damage someone else. That's FRAUD and that's DEFAMATION. And cowardly.
***
The author is writing now…
First, let me put away my violin.
Let's ignore the obvious hypocrisy of Madin complaining that the tactics he first employed are now being deservedly aimed at him.
Let's think for a moment about what else he said.
"a textbook example of harassment and defamation"
I referred to Madin's Violations article, which can be read here.
Cyber Harassment – an aggressive intimidation of victims.
No one has contacted Madin, his family, friends, business associates, etc. But he has done all of the above.
In fact, no one even informed him directly that the website was functioning again. There was a suggestion that another and another website would reappear if they were taken down. So I can't honestly detect any evidence of harassment, much less intimidation, can you?
So he's lying in public, again.
What about the next charge?
Defamation - publishing false statements about victims that are harmful to their reputations.
What falsehoods have been published?
The facts presented prove that Madin is;
1) a cyber sadist
2) pretending to be a journalist
3) doesn't have a publisher
4) used numerous false identities
5) unethically used a police chief and an FBI agent as character references
6) has employed an illegal spamming technique to defraud Google for nine years
7) repeatedly violated copyright
8) abused his diplomatic status to gain confidential information in a deceptive manner
9) violated the UN-defined human rights of his victims worldwide and,
10) desecrated two dead Americans by employing their identities.
Let's move on to the next charge.
"It appears anonymous, but it's the work of Ripley Davenport."
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't this blog clearly indicate that he intends to use his skills to publish the truth about his tormentor? If memory serves me correctly, didn't he write something to that effect in late March? If so, then Madin can hardly say he’s pretending to be anonymous. Didn't he warn him, "Ready?"
Finally, there is this exaggerated inaccuracy.
"It is not a licence to tell lies, or deliberately distort and twist the truth."
What lies?
See the ten items listed above?
What has been deliberately distorted?
That’s it for now. I’ll leave you with this:
Crocodile Tears
Pretended or insincere tears, hypocritical weeping, false sorrow.
Legend has it that a crocodile sheds tears and moans in order to lure passers-by into its clutches, and then, still weeping, devours them.
A person who feigns deep sorrow in order to impress others or gain their sympathy is thus said to cry crocodile tears.
- This expression, in use since 1563, is found in Shakespeare’s Henry VI.

The long of it
Tumblr media
I'm finding the difference between us mere mortals and the giants we look up to isn't so much talent as it is initiative.
I've been a pretty shit ultrarunner for the past three or four years but my shuffling has always left me with some excess fat caked to my frame. But now, as I look at my legs in the mirror, it appears the fat has begun to slide off. It's very likely just a very forgiving mirror in some kind of fun house.
Yes, talent certainly matters.
But, as you will soon see, some of humanity's most talented individuals walked this Earth entirely unnoticed, until they took matters into their own hands.
That Indy bloke, Harrison Ford, was paying the bills as a carpenter while taking on odd acting jobs in Hollywood. He was a smart cookie, though. He grafted on the homes of stars. One day, one of his clients introduced him to that Star wars chap, George Lucas. You can figure the rest out.
Dennis Rodman played basketball at a “never heard of it” NAIA school in Oklahoma (that's somewhere bottom of something at the bottom) before making himself eligible for the 1986 NBA draft. He was drafted 27th by the Detroit Pistons, where he soon became the most dominant defensive warrior in the entire league.
Mario Grigorov, a legendary composer for film and television, wasn't getting any attention in Australia so he moved to LA and began hanging out at a popular piano store where he'd play his heart out; a music producer overheard him, thought this guy’s good, recorded him on the spot and then a while later, signed him to Warner Music.
We now live in a world where you can shoot your load in your semen stained sweatpants from your basement in Montana, one cold email and comment at a time while you ruin lives.
This sick old bloke, frustrated at me, a few others and life in general, managed to:
1. Get a website pulled that detailed his crimes and years of cyberstalking, harassment and vile. In doing so, he also managed to pull down a personal website of mine and my copywriting business website, email and files. After countless calls to the USA, Verizon refuse to reinstall my personal and business website and refund 2 years hosting fees that I paid in advance. My business has suffered a as result.
2. He contacted my wife's employer, the CEO to be fact, with an email of vile that clearly had one intention and that was to cause maximum emotional harm and job loss.
3. He’s contacted many past managers, work colleagues, social contacts including a company that I was contracted with (my sole income at that time) with vile to cause maximum emotional harm and job loss.
I refused to allow my momentary act of rage to penetrate through my computer screen and into the sanctuary of his fucking basement in the land of the Big Sky.
I have nothing to prove. I have nothing to answer. I have no interest in sharing in his rage. In a way, I’m at peace. Or, something close to it.
Perhaps, because I had gotten all of my anger out on the bag with one fucking sound idea and plan that I should have done years ago.
Taking the fight to the enemy
I know that this troubled sick twisted arrogant troll means to do me harm and everyone around me.
I know I have a head for website design and SEO all sharpened daily to rain down hell and high water. And rightly so.
Remove one website, another will appear, and another, and another.
Yeah, I can play his game. Yes, talent certainly matters.
I'm realising I can hurt someone.
Ready?

Stupid
Tumblr media
I was born into a world, where when you had something to say, you raised your hand so the room knew whose mouth it was coming from.
I was born into a world, where if you talked shit to someone on the football field, your game had better back that shit-talking up or when you lost, your ass was kissing the dirt until you had the chance to regain your glory.
I was born into a world, where when you taunted or berated or tormented a fellow human being, you had to suffer the repercussions: a smack across your mouth from your mum, a tongue lashing from your teacher, a series of gut-wrenching, lung-collapsing slipper whacks at the hands of your father, a fist to the mouth from one your classmates, etc.
Today, I live in a world where a troll can call somebody is a fraud and a coward, without ever having to suffer the consequences as they sit safely, behind a glowing screen, rubbing one out in shit stained sweatpants in a basement.
Maybe the trolls in this world will keep trying to break us, keep on stoning us, our families, friends, past and present employers, social contacts and strangers on the internet.
Maybe.
We’ll take it.
But can they?
Personally, I hate fucking cowards.

Whoring the trolling craft
Tumblr media
The other day a good friend and client of mine brought to my attention that there is a website floating around the web in regards to my "life".
To be candid, that party has been roaring for quite some time and you're late. Fashionably, of course. But, late nonetheless.
Generally, I wouldn't have fallen victim to Googling myself, certain my friend was fucking with me. But, due to some events in my personal life, the stuff I’ve done, while most definitely odd and questionable, seemed possible.
So, it was 10 a.m. on a Monday (or maybe it was a Tuesday?) and while I should have been spending my time swimming, biking, running or doing something awesome to enrich my life, I was instead reading shite - very poorly written wordage, mind you - about my life by a stranger.
Post binge, I've come to the conclusion that the website in question is hot crocks of shit written by an elderly armchair critic whoring the trolling craft to get a quick hard on, rub one out and garner clicks. The fucker will just write stuff, aroused, sweat glistening on his forehead, breathing super heavy...)
(So, not all that different from the "journos" you see on Linkedin and Twitter...)
That poorly written dribble is factually incorrect. He writes as if he knows me. Does he fuck. And, ironically, nowhere does anyone else attempt to take a stab at my life because, well, how the fuck could anybody even truly know someone if they haven’t actually met them in person?
That being said, reading that website made me think…
I need a shit.
Why is it that we Google the names of people we find interesting?
Why is it that we Google the names of people we find interesting?
It's obvious that, to some degree, we equate someone's life to their value and their importance here on Earth.
If we didn't, we wouldn't have millions of people jerking off into their soiled hankies at the sight of Jeff Bezos' bald head gunning to the moon in his phallic-looking rocket, while paying little to no attention to his ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, who has donated close to $9 billion the past two years and has pledged to donate more before she kicks the bucket.
We applaud the wannabe Buzz Lightyear because a life, at least to some of us, really fucking matters.
Anyway, since posing this question, I've done some thinking on my own life...
I'm far from finished with my life for a fifty-one-year-old - at least by my own standards - because I have a very clear idea of what life means to me...
I do stuff that matters to me, even in the face of failure...
A chunk of this "living" comes in the form of exchanging my ideas that some people find interesting and share; another chunk of this living comes from doing something else. But that’s another story.
I have more ideas than I can physically do...
The money I rake in and don't spend goes to paying for gadgets and gizmos that I don’t really need. I also hand out a never ending stream of cash to two scrounging teenage kids.
I have enough to be happy, not enough to be miserable...
I have enough money to enter an IRONMAN every year for the rest of my life. I mean, fuck, I could even do Kona if I wanted. I have enough money to buy a new triathlon bike. I have enough money to buy running shoes. I have enough money to buy sugary gels that I’ll never actually use. I have enough money to buy another bar of chocolate and one extra just in case. I have enough money to drive a 4x4 hybrid that was the best bargain I've ever gotten. I have enough money to head to Portugal to bodyboard some bone crushing slabs. I have enough money to clothe myself, to buy another pair of glasses, to do a decent deed here and there, to pay off my credit cards that I probably swipe too liberally at times, to own one home with a gym that I love, to buy fresh ingredients to make a damn good chicken dinner for my family and my friends every now and again.
And, all that to say, I think my life isn't a hot crock of shit like his website written about moii. My life is totally awesome.
I'll stop babbling now.
Cheers mo-fo,
P.S. It's astonishing that not all that long ago it was socially acceptable for a man to blow a massive wad into a handkerchief watching porn and then fold it up and tuck it in his shirt pocket for later use. I guess now trolling has the same effect.
Just astonishing.

Imperfections
Tumblr media
I, as we all are, am an imperfect human.
However, one person's coverage of my life over the last 12 years has been far more a reflection of his insatiable desire to tear down and crush an individual who is seen as needing to be ‘put in his place' or ‘called out’.
He acts like a judge and jury.
Far from public interest journalism and investigative journalism, the website he created in my name, and many others, is a public mockery and an invitation for schadenfreude at the expense of a real, living persons.
I'm not going to try and unpack what his perceived transgressions are, but the bottom line is that there is nothing so severe as to warrant what has occurred and what has since resulted.
The shift in his obsession and the language being written about my life, my wife, past and current career, past endeavours, etc by him have gone above and beyond to cut to the quick, is appalling.
The sensationalisation of his 'new and emerging’ journalism (as he puts it) and schadenfreude will never end.
And quite frankly, I don’t give a fuck.
Here’s to another 12 years you sick, twisted runt.

My nutty little friend
I didn’t want to waste time writing this because there are more important things to do in life other than amusing a naysayer, heckler, cynic, doubting Thomas, armchair geek and troll. I could go on…
Incredibly, over the last 12 years, I have taken action in wrestling (not literally though as I feel he would enjoy it) a person who has been attacking my name everywhere. None of my efforts have worked and it seems that it’s impossible to stop his on line harassment and him trying to enlist and/or encourage other nonsensical mindless grunts.
He sent late-night SMS’s and bombarded sponsors, friends, work colleagues (past and present), social contacts and yours truly...the list goes on...with emails, many of which are fake. There is nothing valuable that you can extract from him - and nobody seems to care.
My troll is a permanent fan keeping me entertained. It’s not that I think I am perfect and there should not be criticism. To the contrary, there are a lot of things I have done unrelated to an adventure that were not even on the radar that he decided to interfere with, pick apart and manipulate.
“I’m just some naughty fellow somebody is obsessing about. Privileged that it’s all about me and my famous effed up life and stuff.”
The individuals in this world, who make a genuine impression, are the inventors, the innovators, the humane, the witty, and the sharp. Nowhere in this list do you see trolls, hecklers, the pitiless, the unorganised grabastic lumps of reptile crap and those who produce nothing while amusing themselves by shitting on others lives and accomplishments and demanding this and that or else. It’s a simple answer. There is nothing noteworthy about those who contribute nothing, zilch, zip, nowt. Universally mind-numbing. Ordinary. Totally empty.
I had one of those eureka moments a while back. It simply didn’t occur to me. Why would it? How long will my troll continue to direct his remarks to me on twitter after he’s been muted and blocked? How long until this person, who seems to have all the intelligence of a saturated cucumber sandwich, realize that the individual who they’re trying to cause pain and distress on, whose self-confidence they’re trying to chip away at, has left the building and is deliberately and absolutely ignoring them?
My troll doesn’t matter. Zero memorability. Nil impression. Nowt. Zippo. I hit block/mute months ago and moved on unaware that someone, somewhere was blabbing like a big girl's blouse in his moist lingerie trying to get my attention. My self-invented, self-appointed slippery diminutive worthless twinkle-toe journo troll is ravenous for any form of attention because he can’t contribute anything of worth to any conversation.
He just loves free speech as if that gives him any right. Nah, free speech is protected as a way to protest the government. It does not mean you get carte blanche to be a total asshole to people, well known or otherwise.
“Freedom of Speech does NOT mean Freedom to abuse people. People who ‘Troll’ online are in effect guilty of Cyber-bullying, and we believe should face the same punishment as the crime of Cyber-stalking. This is why we are campaigning to have Trolling or Cyber-bullying re-classified, so that it can carry the same punishment as Cyber-stalking. We hope to have Trolling included in the The current US Federal Anti-Cyber-Stalking law, and have that law updated to suit as such.”
Colin J Todd 2010
A bully is a broad word. Wholly ordinary. An OAP of the insignificant. Non-entities. Swiftly dealt with, rapidly dispatched, speedily ignored. Instantaneously forgotten.
So when tempted to hurt another, to yank someone down to your bottomless sewer, remember; you don’t rob someone else’s life or flame by trying to blow out their candle, you’ll only wind up huffing and puffing alone in the dark while rubbing one out, which I guess is a widespread activity around your way?

Trolling since 2019
Tumblr media
Firstly, is to get it out there and off my chest. Writing, instead of talking gives me time to think and try and put the feelings and thoughts down, proper. There a load more to add to this story, so please come back often.
Secondly, If my experience can help anyone going through the same shit, even if only one single person then that would make me happy.
Thirdly and perhaps the most important one for me personally, to try and thank and show my appreciation to the people that helped and are helping along the way. I’m usually not a very person dependent person, but this has really proved to me that not everyone wishes to share the same opinion as another sick man.
It’s clear from the accusations over the last decade from one individual that he felt I falsified some claims about my modest adventures. He felt that I deserved punishment as if I was a rapist, murderer or hotshot banker who stole millions. He set out to launch a website in my name that dissected and bent many elements of my life. Despite living in fear that this man could turn up on my doorstep or worse, I made a plea to various online forums, websites, Google and local authorities and went as far as filing a police report in Ireland. The laws are cracked. Google did nothing. In fact, they seemed to support a website that does nothing but discredits my name. As I write this, nothing has been done to restrain a decade of trolling, a deplorable act of cruelty carried out by one man who I have never met or done business with.
Let’s get this straight. I am not an explorer. Everyone these days is called an explorer, it seems. In the past, I was labelled one by the media and went along with that, as we all did. I’m no Thesiger, Burton, or Fiennes. I was just a normal guy with aspirations and who actually went out to engage in life rather than dream about it. I never did travel to places where no one has ever been to find out what is there. However, I did seek knowledge but that was more a personal thing. Back then, I was just involved in a few fun adventures, as many other aspiring young people were at that time. England has a solid culture of adventure and exploration, and most young men and women, probably like me, watched documentaries, read books about a great adventure, and were inspired. I see the same flame in my children.
Adventure and exploration have long been a culture filled with adrenaline and hyper-masculinity. Everyone has his or her sights locked on a first, longest, or the fastest. My personal account that follows, there are no pretentious, easy solutions; no how-to guides or swift exits or absolute and finite truths about the exhortations of my mind. A glance into my rearview mirror and reflect on my bouts and achievements, I’m reminded that I’m just simply an ordinary bloke, giving it my best to get through another day. To try something or at least to give it a go even in the face of failure.
The truth is that one lone individual, who has never met me or spoken with me, launched a weird hate campaign against me, and tried to influence others to his unique point of view. I was in Denmark at the time planning a crossing of Mongolia (basically, just a long walk with a wheeled trailer). At some point, an American stranger appeared out of the blue and accused me of being a fraud because he thought it was impossible to get a three-month visa. Apparently, he had some experience of the country through helping his wife run holiday pony treks there, and despite 'all his contacts' he could not get a three-month visa. Therefore, because he could not get one, I couldn’t get one, meaning I must be a liar. As I was a resident in Denmark at the time, the ‘Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Kingdom of Sweden’ confirmed a 90-days visa for me – on two separate occasions!
So that was the basis of his initial attack. Afterward, I discovered that he was an old man and his pony trekking holiday life was over, while I was a fit young man and mine were just beginning. A bit of a familiar story? From that single point, this guy became totally obsessed with me and appeared to go berserk, escalating his claims of fraud covering my entire life, starting as a school kid. He contacted high school friends, old girlfriends and asked anyone to help him with an article he claimed he was writing. You can imagine the shock and disbelief I experienced when he created a website to broadcast his bizarre claims, plus another one attacking my wife (she was a legal secretary, not an adventurer). What he published was nothing more than the products of crazy imagination. But he didn't stop there, he began stalking all my friends, employers and associates and invading their space with inflammatory emails. I was just an ordinary young man, full of energy and adventure, and could not comprehend what was driving this stranger's sustained hate attack. I had never heard of anything like this in the history of adventure. It was horrid. He started sending me SMSs late at night. It’s still ongoing 8 years later!”
For many years, adventure was a ubiquitous presence in my life. I was literally obsessed with it. In 2009, I hatched a plan and began a lucrative hunt for sponsorship, which included some innovative and exclusive products. With this support and my own drive to be an adventurer, I used savings from modest employment ranging from forestry to fly-fishing to kitchen porter and went on carving a path that enabled me to realise a dream.
Nevertheless, with one failed and one successful crossing attempt of Mongolia, I made it clear I wasn’t just another adventurer. From an age point-of-view, I was a late entry to adventure, a late thirties something working through his own changes. As I tried to figure out certain things in life, I decided to move on and seek a new direction.
I started having trouble sleeping, whereas my mental activity grew intensely stronger. Even though I was crazy active during the day, particularly with intense physical activity, I’d go to bed unable to sleep only to feel both physically and mentally drained. At that point, I really had no idea what was wrong.
Soon after returning from Mongolia in 2011, I was diagnosed with RRMS. The year before, I’d failed to reach a goal that, after months of training and personal effort, meant everything to me. I was so driven and obsessed with the goal that I’d devise every possible factor that could make me a respectable adventurer. My personal expectations were extremely high and that self-infliction added pressure, anxiety and mental stress. For a long time, everything I did in life was steered toward becoming an adventurer, but in 2012, things just got a bit too serious.
We relocated to Ireland on the prospect of a fantastic project idea. We sacrificed everything in Denmark and made the jump. It wasn’t long before that turned sour because of rumours and elusive emails from one man over the pond. Fuelled by a building defamatory website, everything went bitter and a business partner cowardly backed out. I was fighting an invisible enemy on all fronts. I went full-on focusing on family and discovered new interests along the way, gaining and then losing friends because of one man. Alongside these life transformations, a chain of events slowly unfolded and stealthily turned things darker. Over the years, my sponsorship crumbled when they found out about a website created in my name by one individual hell-bent on dissecting every aspect of life. Slowly, sponsors and even some friends began to pull the plug and my passion for adventure went downhill. Some sick twisted people, who were actually friends, joined the witch-hunt and started to hurl abuse and threats in my direction. Those decisive moments built up over time to put me in a weird frame of mind. I lost a lot of weight and indulged in heavy drinking, serving as a distraction from the awful defamatory trawling and comments made by one man who I had never met. My marriage came under strain, which left me with proper and deep heartache. The wheels fell off and I ended up falling into a depression. Under strain, we decided to move to Malta to try to recover from years of shattering events, backstabbing cowardly individuals that we called friends.
Many good friends have asked, why would anyone devote so much time and energy for so many years to attacking a complete stranger? He is the only person to have questioned my very modest adventures, but his reach and persistence have created the perception that there were many people questioning me. This was quite false. It was only him. I lost job opportunities and some acquaintances because of him invading their lives with his false claims and his website. Everyone I spoke with about it agreed, this was not the behaviour of a sane person. I later learned that after he retired, attacking adventurous young strangers took over his whole life, and I was just one of many. He broadcasted his false claims about them using every channel and forum he could. Today we know this is Trolling: supported by extensive Cyberstalking. The Internet's dark side has enabled the proliferation of large numbers of these obsessed trolls. This person is just one more troll.
I was offered work in Malta, which ended before it had started when they discovered the website set up to destroy my life. My life entered a limbo. I was without work and depressed from the unfolding website and circumstances of past years. For the first couple of months, I stayed idly put. During this long period, I seldom did anything. I began to train hard and work in the field of life-saving to salvage my mind. My new life, as a lifeguard team leader, came into play with a local organisation and I regained my motivation and respect. I guess working at a regular job after a life chasing adventure was a real revelation to how fortunate I was for having the opportunity to save many lives.
I volunteered to leave my family for the Christmas and New Year period and serve as a voluntary rescue swimmer with MOAS during the Migrant Crisis in the Aegean Sea. Although satisfying to be involved in a huge humanitarian deployment, a traumatic experience left a mental scar. Being from that voluntary role while on search and rescue operations because of a bombardment of letters to the ship from a groomed individual by the very man hell-bent on destroying my life, I found myself slowly slipping into depression. I hit rock bottom yet again and felt suicidal. Soon enough, I was drinking and things got out of hand until I found work as a medical first responder and lifeguard supervisor. I slowly transformed my life yet again and began to enjoy saving and assisting life. The support from that organisation and the influence on my state of mind was tremendous.
The destructive pattern from one man goes on. I have lost jobs, opportunities, and friends. My career went to shambles and I went silent for months. I felt like I was going to die. Years of mental stress and depression ruining my body, reality kicked in and I had an anxiety attack that scared the crap out of me. Poised on a cliff edge, right there I decided that I wanted to end it all. It was surely my deepest, darkest time dealing with fear, anxiety and depression and other health issues but I was no stranger to feeling suicidal.
I was quite rebellious against people who were trying to help me. From my experience, I went out of my way to show to others that I needed help. I was fortunate to have people coming to me in those moments. I was very blessed that some in the adventure and sports community actually reached out when they heard or read the defamatory and intrusive website and asked what was wrong when I was out of control, even if at first I got angry with them for questioning me. Still, despite the help, I could only be where I am now by my own means. It was ultimately a personal decision to change my ways. Letting go of my ego definitely accounts for part of my recovery process.
I’m stoked to still be able to travel and live the adventuring lifestyle even if it is off the adventure radar, just for personal fun. Having two young children also brought stability to my life. I’m just excited – and naturally scared as well – for the next chapter.
Nowadays, I rely a lot on physical activities to keep my mind healthy. Running, swimming, biking, freediving, and bodyboarding has been my saviour in life – it’s a simple release that resets the brain a bit. For a long time, I also carried around a notebook with me; it was a way of being a bit productive during dark times. The creative release can be very beneficial. If you start writing on a blank canvas without a mental reference, the story will form itself as if the universe is guiding you. Ultimately, though, what boosts my wellbeing is the sea. It gives me straight relief while finding the right balance between dangerous and risky situations. Those are humbling lessons that I’ve learned through saving life, freediving, and bodyboarding and that I make sure to apply to other facets of life. I know for sure that I’ll just keep on driving towards the future.
This whole experience really drove home to me that you never know what people are going to do to hurt you. How they can turn in an instant without having an opinion of their own. They would rather listen to the opinion of a stranger than have an opinion of their own about you, having actually met my family and me. I have no time for people that choose to make an opinion based on his opinion. Those that do, are equally worthless.
I have accepted that there’s nothing I can do to stop this man or remove the damage he’s done. That twisted redneck can continue as far as I’m concerned.
I can say that I don’t think about it often as I have more pressing issues to deal with. Writing this whole story, as I’ve said, will continue to grow as I add more details, another thing dawned on me that when I googled around there were no stories about how to deal with this shit apart from the usual: ignore and block, don’t feed the troll and report it. This has all failed and doesn't work for a case like mine.

Google processes this personal data in violation of:
Article 17 of the GDPR, by not deleting the complainant’s personal data without undue delay
Article 9 of the GDPR, by processing sensitive personal data without having a valid exception to the prohibition on processing sensitive personal data
Article 10 of the GDPR by processing personal data relating to criminal offences without the processing being permitted.
In accordance with Article 58(2)(d) of the GDPR, IMY orders Google to take steps to ensure that search results relating to the mentioned URL:s are not displayed when searching the search terms set out in Annex 1 that can be made using Google’s search services from Sweden and throughout the EU.
