Sonic “No Running” BTS

In this business you make friends. Also, you’ve had friends you’ve met along the way. My buddy Charles is a talented CD at Bond agency whom I met as an editor early on. Charles invited us to collaborate on a launch of a new Sonic the Hedgehog game.

We had one day to ambitiously film multiple locations with lots of moving parts. It was our roots relationship and clear communication that allowed the trust to get it all done. Then, during edit, I felt the cut needed a dynamic transition shot so we invited Charles to wear the talent’s wardrobe and play the part. We piled into the back of the Key Grip’s pickup truck (strapped down for safety) and filmed the quick shot using an FX3 and super slow shutter speeds. Charles moved like he was running in super slow speeds as my wife blazed him with a leaf blower and we rolled down an empty street in San Marino. DP Reuben Steinberg donated his morning to ensure the images all looked right. The end result was a dynamic shot looking like Sonic was running at warp speeds.

Kendall Roy is someone who can't function unless he's kissing you every chance he can get. About to leave for work? He's dragging you back into the apartment, a wide, toothy grin on his face as he cups your cheeks and brings you back up to his awaiting lips. He's sitting in his office, waiting for his father to return from his meeting like an obedient puppy? He's waving you in from across the hall, not caring if anyone's looking (he can just fire them later) as he pulls you down into his lap, and becomes a whining mess as you loosen his tie and start sucking little, sweet hickeys against the stubble on his neck. His favourite kisses, though, are the ones right before he falls asleep. Where he can see that you're tucked up into his side, and he finally realises that all the good things in his life aren't just imaginary. You wait, not wanting to fall asleep until he finally leans down and presses the last kiss of the night against the side of your lips. It's sweet, and lingering, and you never mention in the morning how you can feel the slight sting of salt against your mouth when he pulls away.

R = Rapture (What makes them happy?)

Kendall's favourite thing in the whole world is to sneak off with you. It started when he was a teenager; Ken used to try and get a respite from the harsh business regime his father was instilling him into before he left to college by bumping your shoulder as he passed you in the mansion's corridor. It was always his tell-tale sign that he didn't want to hang out in his bedroom today: instead, the two of you would sneak off into one of the cloth covered, dusty, unused except for storage rooms his father never went near in the east wing of the house. Kendall used to keep a stash of cigarette boxes and a lighter underneath a very creaky sounding grandfather clock, and the two of you would spend the afternoon sitting opposite each other on the window sill, and passing the stub back and forth. Every time Kendall's fingers brushed against yours as he passed it over, a shot of electricity would race through his muscles, and he would have to pull his cable-knit jumper further up his neck to hide his blush. Bless his heart, he looked like a shy little hedgehog, ducking down into his burrow and further into himself every time you caught his eye, he was so embarrassed by his crush.

Y = Yearning (What do they do when they miss you?)

Kendall's on the phone 24/7 whenever you're away - you are fully his impulse control, and he feels like both his heart and head have too many screws missing if you're gone from him. You're fully keeping the man together, so be ready for fifteen missed calls, seven face time calls, and about fifty texts in the span of thirty minutes. He can't help it, he's genuinely buzzing around his apartment like a fly who's fallen into a can of energy drink until he can hear your voice again, and then he finally calms down, feeling like everything is right in the world again.

Z = Zzz… (Sleeping headcanons)

Ken isn't one for sleeping. Waystar Royco keeps him so busy, and more often than not his father uses late night file sorting or international calls as a form of punishment for not being the perfect shrine to Logan's martyrdom. If he's not at home, you usually are woken up by a late night text asking if you can come round and visit him, and despite how groggy your eyes are as you run to your driver, you sure as heck go. This happens far too often: the two of you curled up on his office sofa, his suit jacket draped clumsily over the two of you, his head firmly against the top of your chest as his fingers languidly play with the uncovered skin lying beneath your collar bone. Despite how messily your limbs are tangled over each other, and despite how annoying the crick in the back of his neck is the next day, he sleeps like a baby as long as he's able to grip onto you.

1.) Fandoms

My blog is, as a rule, not affiliated with any of the fandoms that my muses come from, and are largely products of my own headcanons, I'll list on the muse page which muses are fully canon divergent and which ones follow canon, as it can vary depending on how I feel about the media they come from.

2.) Basic RP Etiquette

Don't control or override the actions of my characters, don't kill them without asking, no forcibly shipping with my character without talking to me first, really basic stuff for everyone's comfort, really.

3.) NSFW

I generally don't like NSFW unless we're very close rp partners, and if we do engage in that kind of shipping it will lead directly to fade to black, I don't have a sinblog, and don't have an interest in one, so any smut will have to be implied at best. Otherwise, darker subject matter like gore and other darker themes involving mental health will be explored and tagged appropriately.

I think I saw a clip from Crisis on Earth-X back in 2017 or 2018, but I actually started watching in 2020 when I was still watching Flash.

8. How did you become interested in 3?

Influenced by some mutuals and the film, so I tuned in right after s3 ended and actually contributed to the fandom during s4.

9. Who is your favourite actor in 4?

Throughout the series, it’s Martha and Larry.

I love Debbie and how Martha portrayed Imperatrix, I just wished she had a few more roles other than the two just like the other five (I think it’s a costuming thing but I digress).

I love Larry both as writer and an actor, and especially for making Ho-Tan and Kendall real.

But like, if actors in general, it’s Jim.

10. Which show do you prefer 1, 2 or 5?

Nooo, I can’t possibly choose!!

11. Which show have you seen more episodes of 1 or 3?

I mean, LoT has more seasons, but I have rewatched WWDITS a very Normal amount.

12. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?

Can’t tell if I want to be Debbie and Ho-Tan or be with both of them.

13. How would you kill off your favourite character in 5?

I mean, they’re all already dead, so...

I’m weirdly satisfied with Pat and Humphrey’s death, like obv they didn’t deserve it but I wouldn’t have it any other way? Kitty and Cap’s death aren’t revealed yet, but I hope Kitty’s didn’t cause her much pain bc my girl’s been through enough and I hope Cap’s either got the funniest or most earth-shattering one.

Apart from that, I don’t think I will be able to handle another ghost being sucked off (except for some, uh, cases 👀)

As for Alison and Mike, I’d rather have them die due to old age.

14. Would a 3/4 crossover work?

Yeah, and it’s called BBC Ghosts. (No but seriously, I think Yonderland might be able to fix the vamps. They would love the Parvuli.)

15. Pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely, but strangely okay couple.

I haven’t seen the show in ages and they’re all pairable, but Astra and Kendra probably? Charlie and Spooner? (I’m just spitballing, idk if they’d work)

16. Overall, which show has the better cast, 3 or 5?

Harvey and Matt are the only ones I love from that cast for reasons, so it’s gonna be the cast of Ghosts.
